Blood. Fury. Desire. That’s how our oath was made—and how it will be kept.
They say war changes people. I say it reveals them.
Over the past few months, I’ve watched the men I once called my captors become something else entirely—my fiercest allies, my deepest weakness, and the only ones I trust when everything goes to hell. They move like a unit, fight like wolves, and bleed like men who’ve been broken and rebuilt too many times.
And now they’re fighting for me. For us.
The search for Amorette is no longer just mine—it’s ours. We've cut off one head of the serpent, but the body still writhes, coiled tight around secrets none of us saw coming. When the call came for the fifth man in their fractured brotherhood, we didn’t hesitate. They’ve helped me search for my blood. Now it’s my turn to stand for theirs.
But with every answer, more questions rise. Loyalties shift. Lines blur. The deeper we dig, the more I realize this isn’t just about my sister anymore. This is about something bigger, darker—something that won’t let us go without a fight.
And still, they look at me like I’m theirs. Not a possession, not a hostage, but a woman who has carved her place beside them in fire and fury.
So when I set my plan into motion, they don’t stop me—they stand beside me. Armed. Ready. Unshakable.
I won’t lose my sister.
I won’t lose them.
And if I have to burn everything to the ground to protect the people I love—
Then let it burn.
*Please note this is a reverse harem and the author suggests you always read the foreword in her books. Contains some dark elements including trauma in the present day and the past, as well as mature situations, and is definitely intended for 18+ This is book FOUR of FIVE total.
I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.
I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.
After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.
Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.
Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.
One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.
I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!
*Reverse Harem *Contemporary *Multi-1st-PoV *Kidnapping *Abused FMC *Band of Brothers *Established Harem (4) *Mid Burn *4/5 Combat Gracie is ready 💪 Well Gracie certainly comes into her own in this book! 👑 she truly becomes on of the team when she’s actively involved in their plans and plays key roles to get the answers they need 💪 There is plenty of drama in this book with the kidnapping element; rescue; confrontation of Ams behalf …. It’s all going on for them! It doesn’t help that it appears the guys past is coming back for them with a vengeance in this penultimate book! I have a feeling both Gracie’s and their ‘big baddies’ are weaved together somehow - I like the mind games Heather may be playing 😳😄 It’s well paced and there’s a good amount of spice in this one and ooooo boy that group scene 🌶️🔥🌶️ That cliffhanger is absolutely throwing major danger vibes for our leading lady - I hope she gets all the answers she needs in the last book!
When we first met Grace in The Vandals, I knew her story was going to be something I was going to want to read and I'm so glad we have it. It is full of suspense, action, sass, present trauma, illegal trading of the human variety, missing family member, hot former military men and the goodest boy of them all, Goblin.
Grace has continued to assert herself as part of the team and I love that for her. She wants to help in any way she can to find her sister and I love that the guys aren't sidelining her, in the name of keeping her safe, just because she doesn't have the same level of training as them. I am enjoying the banter, the dynamic and of course the steamy chemistry between Grace, Bones, Voodoo, Lunchbox and Alphabet.
Now that we are down to the nitty gritty end of the series, I am not all ready for the final book but more than that, I am not ready to say goodbye but I need more. Please and thank you.
Grace is officially a member of the team. The guys are extremely protective. Something that can piss her off most of the time. However, they do their best not to exclude her from what is going on even if it has nothing to do with finding her sister, Ammorette. As much as she wants to find Ammorette Grace is finding it difficult to consider going back to her normal life because she can no longer imagine being away from Voodoo, Alphabet, Lunchbox, Goblin, and Bones.
Oh wow this book is a ride. So many twists and turns to the plot. Love how Grace is changing and gives as good as she gets. We finally get some answers in this book but many more questions. Some very nice spicy scenes and some nice action in this book. The ending was brutal and I need the next book to see how this all comes out.
3.75 ✨ So this book kinda went downhill for me. It was very repetitive. Literally felt like I read the same paragraph a few times several chapters apart. Bones being taken was the only thing that kept me going. I had to know that he was ok. Really starting to feel like this series should have been cut down to just 3 books. It’s starting to lag and become redundant at this point.
It’s finally time for Grace to get started in her mission to find her sister. On the way we get a fun hang out with Doc and the vandals. Also a quick trip to a “museum”. Onto Dare to see how this all ends.
Oath was SUCH a stressful ride in the best way because wow...Bones absolutely put me through it in this book. Reading parts from his POV genuinely made my stomach hurt. The emotional weight he carries here hit hard, and seeing the team unravel while trying to hold everything together added so much tension to an already chaotic story.
What I continue to love most about this series is how deeply immersed I feel in Grace and the guys’ world. Grace has really stepped fully into the team now, and I loved watching her become more involved in the action instead of constantly being sidelined “for her own safety.” She’s tougher, sharper, and more confident here while still carrying the very real trauma and fear that’s shaped her from the beginning. Her growth feels real.
The group dynamic is still one of my favorite parts. The banter, protectiveness, loyalty, and chemistry between Grace, Bones, Voodoo, Lunchbox, and Alphabet continue to carry this series for me. And YES the spice absolutely delivers. That group scene?!?! Heather truly said good luck recovering from that....
But honestly? O’Rourke completely stole my heart every time he showed up. I know we’re supposed to distrust him, and after everything in the previous book I absolutely get why, but his dynamic with Grace had me INVESTED. There’s so much tension and uncertainty there, and I kept questioning his motives in the best way. Ally? Villain? Potential love interest? I genuinely could not look away from whatever was happening with him.
This book packs in SO much. The Vega plotline, helping Doc, the fallout of what happens to Bones, Grace and Amorette, the reluctant alliance with O’Rourke, the continuing unraveling of the trafficking network...there is constantly something happening. The pacing definitely keeps you hooked and that cliffhanger had me immediately needing the next book. There were several storylines and emotional moments I wanted more time with, especially considering how much ground this book covers. Bones’ trauma alone could have carried even more emotional depth on page. By the time I realized I was nearing the end, I was lowkey panicking because I knew there wasn’t enough book left.
The audiobook continues to be absolutely phenomenal. The narration brings so much intensity and emotion to every POV, especially during the heavier scenes. The narrators really capture the chaos, fear, longing, and possessiveness that define this group dynamic, and the chemistry between all the characters translates SO well in audio format. This series is incredibly immersive on audio and honestly feels made for binge listening.
I’m completely hooked on this world and absolutely not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. That ending left me STRESSED for what’s coming next.
The Blood Brothers series had so much potential, and honestly, the first books completely hooked me. The tension, the mystery surrounding Am, the protectiveness of the guys, the emotional pull between Grace and the men all of it kept me invested all the way through.
But by the end, it felt like the series abandoned the very story it spent five books building.
The biggest issue for me was Am. The ENTIRE series revolved around finding her. That was the emotional core of everything, Grace’s trauma, the danger, the motivation behind the guys risking everything. Yet when the reunion finally happens, it’s barely given any page time. After all that buildup, it felt rushed and emotionally hollow instead of cathartic.
There were also so many plot threads introduced that either never received proper closure or felt completely underdeveloped. Bones being tortured and held captive should have had lasting emotional impact and consequences, but it felt brushed aside. O’Rourke had the potential for an incredible character arc and instead just… faded out. The mysterious organization, the thumb drive, the pregnancy, the bank robbery, so many things either lacked explanation or felt disconnected from the actual story.
By the end, the worldbuilding also stopped making sense to me. The guys are supposed to remain ghosts, but somehow they’re openly functioning as Grace’s full-time security while she returns to modeling? After everything the story established about danger, secrecy, trafficking, and protecting her identity, that decision felt unbelievable and contradictory.
I also wish we had gotten more depth about the guys themselves. Where did all the money and endless resources come from? What were their real backgrounds? What happened to Grace’s family? So many important details felt either glossed over or ignored entirely.
What frustrates me most is that the series had all the pieces to be incredible. The emotional tension and mystery in the earlier books were genuinely addictive. But the ending felt rushed, unfinished, and more focused on wrapping things up quickly than delivering the emotional payoff the story had earned.

Grace never asked for any of this, but she's in deep now. Kidnapped and tortured, rescued but still held captive, in constant danger, and with her twin missing, Grace has developed a fight she never knew she was capable of. She's no longer a separate entity being protected; she's part of a close-knit group fighting as one. She's alongside her men in the battle for souls, and the search for her sister is now also theirs. Lives are on the line, and when one of their own is taken, they all work to get him home. Now maybe they can take the offensive. Or maybe it's all an illusion and they are still playing catch-up and, in more danger than ever.
Whew! Goodness, Doc, Miss Stephanie, Bones, O'Rourke, Amorette's boss, still no Amorette, and then... because of course... The blurb for this book could be summed up in one word - TENSION. Seriously, Heather Long does not want her readers to be able to breathe. She's more of an "on edge" kind of gal. This book was nonstop. Even the sexy times had to be squeezed in during lulls in danger. I loved it. I love how Grace has evolved. Not that she was ever fragile, but she is taking control now. No more sitting on the sidelines and waiting to be rescued; she's taken on an active role with her men. I love seeing a woman become a kickass heroine, especially when she looks like a pint-sized pixie. I also love the care this writer takes with trauma. Each of the men and Grace is carrying PTSD and residual trauma. Heather doesn't make it disappear, and she allows it to surface in different ways. I hesitate to know how she has such knowledge of trauma reactions and hope it's strictly from research, but as someone who works in BH, I appreciate so much that her characters don't suffer from horrific events in chapter 1 and are completely recovered by chapter 3. Her characters are real. They are gritty, messy, and bruised. They elevate her stories.
I need to discuss O'Rourke. I hated him. And then I didn't. Am I crazy, or does he fit in? He works well with the guys despite their history, and there's chemistry with Grace. Maybe he's meant for Amorette? I just feel like he's a part of their story now. And, of course, that ending. I get it, Heather couldn't help herself. She had to throw a grenade after pulling the pin. Now we get to see how far Grace has come. Fight, flight, freeze, or fawn? I think we will see 3 of the 4, if not all 4. She's not the same Pet he thinks he owns.
4 ⭐️ 4 🔥 Dark Romance Why Choose Morally Gray Heroes Ex-Military Enemies to Lovers Captors & Captive Found Family Cliffhanger Fantastic on Audio! 🎧 ⚠️This is a very dark romance, centering around human trafficking and other dark themes. Please check trigger/content warnings.⚠️ I am deep into this world! I have been reading/listening to this series (Grace) and the Bastard Brothers of Carnage series by Blake Blessing (Amorette). This is book four of the BLOOD Brothers series, and cannot be read on its own. You don’t have to read the other series; they both stand on their own. I just had to know what happened to Grace’s sister! This series is about Grace, a model with a twin sister (Amorette) that has gone missing. Grace ends up getting taken herself, chained up and deep in the human trafficking world. She decides she will do anything to survive and find her sister, but her plans continue to get thrown off. She is moved from location to location, from one captor to more captors, Grace is continuously being hunted. These captors are trying to help her, trying to keep her safe. But, a cage is still a cage and she is determined to find her sister. We have finally gotten to a good point in Grace’s and the men’s relationships, and they are on the precipice of finding out what happened to her sister. Of course it ends on a huge cliffhanger! The final book of the series, Dare, is available to read, but I’m just hanging on this cliff for the audio. The audiobooks are amazing!! This series and this world is a wild ride, I can’t wait for the conclusion!
This book was better! Was it perfect? No, but it did get better and earned another star over the previous books. There was very little down time, and we did actually get some action going on. There were some odd jumps here and there, but overall this book kept me interested and I didn't really get too bored.
My biggest concern was right after the museum rescue. I loved the whole thing going on. Sure, it seemed to jump to that point, but there were other times where we saw a similar jump in time, so I just didn't think much about it. My problem is that after the rescue, we somehow got some flashbacks afterward. This is the point where I got bored! We already have all the action and we know how it turns how, but now we have to see the buildup towards it? It didn't work. It should have been in before the rescue, in my opinion. It took me out of the flow of the story, and I didn't like it.
I do like that we were able to have some more things happening. They weren't just sitting around like before. I also had a feeling something was up with the housekeeper. Why would she have just volunteered information about the gardener? Even if she noticed, who would care enough if you told them. That would have been ringing some alarm bells in my head right away. Just felt weird.
I am ready for this to be over! I will finally be getting to the last book. Like in my previous review, I suspected we would have all the action crammed into the end, and so far it looks like that might be the case. At least we will finally have more answers.

Oath by Heather Long penultimate book in Blood Brothers series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶🌶🌶💀💀💀 Yeah, Heather went and done it again. She's created a world filled with these impossible characters. You get so invested and bang things happen. You have a visceral reaction. Just want to hug and keep them safe. We start off with Grace and the guys helping Doc with Emerson's problem (82nd Street Vandals). I love the crossovers. But soon they have to deal with their past. Things go amok and Bones is taken. Plan and execute a rescue with the help of an unlikely source. Back on track with finding Amorette, but it is not that easy... cliffhanger. Really, Heather... Tropes: Possessive MMC. Triggers. Touch-her-you-die. PTSD. Trauma bonding. Why choose. Doggy love. Chosen family. Age gap. Big and small. Only soft for her. Quotes: “Dollface,” I said. “I don’t have to try. You’ve got a temper—and you like losing it.”
All at once, he grabbed my biceps and hauled me up off my feet. His pitiless expression arrested every single thought I had as he glared at me and put his face right up to mine. “What would you do now?” Since he was asking… I kissed him.
“Survival is hard. Surviving is a little easier, but once you’ve survived, you have time to look back. To question. To wonder. To decide what you could have done, should have done maybe, or would have if you had known everything.”
"And if I have to burn everything to the ground to protect the people I love— Then let it burn."
Book 4 in the Blood Brothers series continues to serve us with action packed highs and lows while pulling on your heartstrings in the best of ways. The search for Amorette continues as the group navigates through one situation after another. I absolutely loved the growth in the individual relationships between the characters as well as their growth as a whole group. It was great to see the guys letting Grace in and allowing her to take a bigger role in her own rescue operation. I love the dichotomy of Grace's character because she is so fierce and a complete force to be reckoned with around most, but when she is surrounded by her people she is also still vulnerable and fragile. The way that the guys all understand her emotional needs and meet her where she's at is also an incredible thing to see. The bond between the group only continues to strengthen in this book and I feel like they are more connected than ever at the end. Speaking of the end…. The cliff hanger queen once again leaves us screaming for more and wondering what will happen next in the final book of this incredible series! Heather NEVER disappoints and this book was no exception.
Oath by Heather Long kept me hooked from literally page one. This series just keeps getting more intense and I’m fully obsessed at this point 😭🔥
Plot: Just like Own, this book was packed with action and tension nonstop. My heart genuinely hurt for Gracie whenever Bones was in trouble because these characters have officially become MY people now 😭 There was one chapter that gave me major déjà vu though. I swear parts of it felt almost exactly like something we’d already read earlier in the series, or maybe earlier in the book itself. Not identical, but close enough that I noticed it.
Characters: No notes. None. I love every single one of them now. Even the ones I wanted to fight in earlier books 😅
Spice: HOTTTTT 🔥 Heather Long absolutely knows what she’s doing when it comes to spice.
Ending: EXCUSE ME??? How does Sinclair know the first person who had Grace?? And does that person know it’s actually Grace, or do they think it’s still AM?? I HAVE QUESTIONS. I NEED ANSWERS. Immediately sprinting into the final book because Heather Long refuses to let me know peace 😭📚
“And if I have to burn everything to the ground to protect the people I love— Then let it burn.”
Oh Heather - That ending was just wrong 😑!!! Into the naughty author corner you go. 🤣
If you have not started this series yet - read no further and go do that now! You won’t be disappointed. Gracie and the guys are amazing.
I we were left with some serious questions in the last book. Well buckle up Heathens it’s going to be one action packed and spicy ride with Oath!!! Reading it I felt a range of emotions. The Prologue alone had me crying! Gracie gets some questions about her sister answered and about the guys’ past. The guys (Alphabet, Bones, Lunchbox, Voodoo) get to teach Gracie just how much she means to them and I’m here for it!!! However, to true Heather fashion just when we are getting ready for more answers the pages stop turning. I need the next book like I need air. I’m so addicted to this series.
I love the growth we get to see in each book! In oath the search for Amorette continues and at the same time the past comes knocking down the boys doors. I love the growth we see in each character. Grace learns and start to adapt to each one of them but at the same time we can see how all of them start to adapt to Grace as well. There is definetely heat in this book and the spice lever is high. There is action galore . The author once more has used her unique type of writing in a way that it is impossible to escape the book. From the first page up to the last you are invested and you know that something is coming your way but you are unable to stop. It is intoxicating to read! Of course as always the cliffy at the end (a signature by now of the author) will leave you reeling and wanting for more and definetely leaves the author to the naughty author corner for a time out! I truly can't wait for the next one!
Ooooft Heather you took me through the wringer here, I knew it was coming but okay let me start at the beginning.. reliving Miss Stephanie you know what through other perspective — instantly sobbing here.
Grace is just proving again and again she is not one to watch from the sidelines, “glass breaks Gracie, you don’t” is so true and in so many different ways for her strength.
Still loving each of the development with the guys, the scene at the beginning with Bones had me snorting, also totally caught the Sick Boys mention there and what an excellent choice, that series is thickkkk and would’ve left a bruise for sure.
And the ending, Heather I just know you’re in your corner cackling away, I had a feeling we’d end up here at some point and now I’m just praying the guys were super close and it’s a 2 second altercation for Grace.. a girl can dream right!? I’ll have to wait for Dare to find out..
Although the search for Amorette continues, Grace and The Boys are continuing to have their own issues. Man, there are some crazy scenarios. But Grace is also working thru how she feels for all the guys which led to some really hawt scenes! It’s all tied in to the previous books so I can’t even begin to describe the story. Know that there are so many ups and downs…I know I’d never be able to deal. Through it all, though, Grace knows that the guys will always have her back, as she has theirs. The bond grows so much stronger in this book.
This story ends on a cliffhanger – and that cliff is about a thousand feet tall! – so it kept me on the edge of my seat AND cursing that I have to wait for the next book, as I’ve felt for all the previous ones. Loved It! And impatiently waiting...
As an FMC, Grace is likeable, well-developed, and shows growth over every book. Her motivations are understandable and heartbreaking.
There were fewer operations in this book, but I really enjoyed the museum caper.
This would've been four stars, but I realized that the MMCs are little more than cardboard cut-outs. Bones is the controlling guy who carries everything on his shoulders, Alphabet is the tech guy with a war injury and a dog, Lunchbox is the nurturing guy who likes explosions, and Voodoo is the sexy guy who likes to shop. That's their entire personalities. Did they exist before joining the military? Do they have parents? Siblings? Where are they from? What were their past relationships like? We still don't even know Alphabet's real name. After four books.
ʙᴏᴏᴋ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ 📖: Oath: Blood Brothers #4 by Heather Long
I felt like we solidified the bonds between Gracie with all the guys in Oath. That she has slide in to become apart of their unit. We had all the suspense and still the mystery getting to her sister along with all the other treats still lurking for them. Cliffhanger of course but I honesty didn’t expect this one the way it was.
Looking forward to the finally book for Grace Bones, Voodoo, Alphabet and Lunchbox.
I really hope that we will have a reunion between the sisters of some kind since we didn’t get that in Am’s ending.
Possessive MMC | Touch Her & Die | PTSD | Trauma Bonding | Why choose MFMMM | Dog Daddy| Chosen family | Age Gap | Soft For Only Her | Disability Rep | Former Military | Cliffhanger | Forehead Kiss
I can’t believe you’ve left us on this ending, I never wanted it to end. I kept glancing towards the percentage part dreading getting closer to the 100 mark but not being able to stop/slow down. I devoured this book, I lived and breathed it until the very last word. I love Gracie and how fierce she was in this book. I love seeing the other bits into what happened to Amorette (it’s made me want to read her story all over again). Oh my, I loved Bones in this book, but I do love them all. I loved everything she shared with them in this book whether it was the lightheartedness, the heat or action packed adventures. This book was incredible and I can’t wait for the next one.
This picks up where Own left off and is basically a nonstop party of revelations, twists, and action (including the spicy kind).
I loooove seeing the relationships grow as the story develops. Gracie really comes into her own as she helps bring down the baddies. We get some more cameos from the vandals in this one, as well as more about the history of the guys and Doc. There are a lot of emotional moments while Gracie continues to search for her sister and find answers. Some heartbreaking but necessary conversations about trauma and healing occur, hopefully setting Gracie onto a path of recovery from the worst of her experiences.
The next book is the last one and I’m excited to see how they resolve it all!
The training had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt, I couldn't catch my breath! I Read the first book in this series, seems like forever ago, and waited till now to read the final four. Why, the first one made me insane, I knew I could go no further until book 5 was released, from there it's been two days and I am ready for the ending. Not that I do not totally get engrossed in this author's writing, but other than the training sessions in this book (4) the laughs have been when Grace lost her temper and threw whatever dangerous objects she could, mostly towards Bones, to his detriment. After all, " Grace has a killer arm on her.". Finally. The grand finale, and it's time to read!
I absolutely loved this audiobook! I really feel like the guys and Grace have come a long way, and the way the voice actors portray them is amazing. There's a lot of forward movement in the guys and Grace trying to understand some of the human abducting schemes, as well as trying to find Amorette. While Grace isn't transformed into a mercenary, she is taking a more active role and the guys are more open with all of their plans. Probably some of my favorite moments were there trainings with her, specifically when they more prank like than just practice fighting. They've come such a long way, and the cliffhanger really shows you how far they've come. I cannot wait for Dare to be released as an audio to complete the immersive world and story that Heather has come up with.
OMG , Noooo. It can't end like that , I need to know what is going to happen now. Once again I was completely hooked on this book. Grace and her guys were just incredible. I love how they're so protective and possessive over her but in this book they also encouraged her to shine. This book had me swooning throughout , I just love all the guys and couldn't pick a favourite. This book was action-packed and filled with plenty of steam and boy was it HOT. With that ending I am desperately waiting for the next book , OMG this author definitely knows how to write a cliffhanger. Phenomenal five star read that I would definitely recommend , it's just incredible.
Can we talk about that book cover first? I mean HELLO! 😍
Ok, now that I got that off my chest lets talk about what happened in Oath. Oath opens the day of Miss Stephanie's funeral (we met Stephanie in the Vandals series, she is Doc's older sister) Gracie and the guys came to help when Doc called. Afterwards the search for Gracie's sister continues. So much more happens, an ambush, lots of explosions, Bones gets kidnapped and tortured and Grace, Voodoo, Alphabet and Lunchbox get some very steamy scenes. Be prepared for A cliffhanger that will leave you reeling and wanting to curse out Heather Long until you get the last book of the series. Excellent read as always!
HOW DARE YOU END ON THAT CLIFFHANGER AND MAKE ME WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER FOR THE NEXT ONE!
I read the first three in this series months ago, so I was a little confused in parts, but I will reread just for fun because I love them.
I don’t remember Grace being annoying in the first three books, but in the beginning of this book, she was almost insufferable. She did get better throughout.
I LOVE THESE GUYS! Ugh they are all so different, yet so alike. I love everything about them all. I cannot wait to find out Alphabet’s real name. And can’t forget Goblin!
PS thank you for saying in the beginning that the dog didn’t die. That’s always a big worry when there is a dog and violence involved.
