The boys of Frampton University’s swim team are renowned for their prestige and excellence. Their dominance and ruthless competitiveness invoke fear in those who cross them. Phoenix Huntington and Gray Ford are the new Sharks on campus, and my own personal nightmares.
Rowyn Growing up in foster care left me with a rebellious streak and a juvenile record. Bouncing from one indifferent home to another, I learned to trust no one and mask my pain. All I want to do is survive the hand I’ve been dealt and move the hell on. Working and studying are my only options until they throw a wrench in my plans. Now, I’m their new plaything, and they say I belong to them…
Phoenix We’re gods here on campus, and no one would argue otherwise. Except this spicy little blonde who refuses to accept her fate. I’ve never been this consumed, but one taste was all it took. Now, I’m addicted. And then there's Gray. Our connection is undeniable, and it’s awakening something in me I never knew existed.
Gray Senior year was supposed to be a piece of cake, but when do plans actually work out? Nix and I were blindsided by Rowyn Caddel, never believing a hookup would turn into an instant obsession. I'm the quiet, reserved one, but that doesn't mean I'm any less dominant. My silence conceals a storm of intensity, and Rowyn's rebellion powers it. She thinks she can outrun us, but she's about to learn just how wrong she is. You can run, little juvie, but we’ll always find you…
But secrets have a way of resurfacing, and Rowyn's past is no exception. As my buried demons come back to haunt me, can Phoenix and Gray navigate these stormy seas and save me from drowning? Or will we all be pulled under by the weight of my past?
This is an enemies-to-lovers, MMF romance with morally gray heroes and a scarred heroine. Are you ready to dive into Frampton University?
L.B. Martin resides in South Carolina with her husband and two children. When she's not reading or writing, you can find her enjoying a cup of coffee. She majored in English Literature with a minor in British Lit. Passionate about mental health awareness, L.B. shines a light on the topic through her characters, many of whom grapple with mental illness. She also loves writing about dirty-talking bad boys and the curvy women who bring them to their knees.
L.B. Martin aspires not just to tell stories, but to change lives. Her words are a bridge, offering readers a passage from their own struggles to a place of understanding and hope. She believes in the transformative power of literature, the way a good book can make you feel seen, heard, and less alone. With every page, she invites readers to find solace and inspiration, reminding them that even in the darkest times, there is always a glimmer of light.
This was intense, intoxicating and full of surprises. Rowyn is the perfect blend of feisty, determined, vulnerable and brave. She has demons in her past that cause her to be guarded, but that doesn't stop her from putting the arrogant swim team boys obsessing over her in their place, or at least trying too. Nix and Gray were all consuming, and you see the transition and growth from bullies and typical playboys, to obsession, to caring protectors. The story handles dark themes, and does not shy away from the spice, which hits in early and does not let up. If you're looking for 2 morally grey obsessive dominant MMC's with the touch her and die mantra, Nix and Gray are it. I also loved the bi-awakening plot, seeing all 3 pov's, and the elements of suspense and danger from Rowyn's past. This is a thrilling and spicy little nugget!
"I'm not yours to claim" - "Oh, but you are, Rowyn...You just didn't know it"
Rowyn was so strong and independent. I absolutely loved her. Phoenix and Gray were protective and possessive in the best way. Rowyn always hid parts of her past from everyone, she had to be strong and do everything on her own. Gray and Nix knew what they wanted and nothing would stop them. When Rowyn opens up to them, their feelings become deeper and they will stop at nothing to keep her safe. Their feelings for each other also deepen and grow.
I have been waiting oh so patiently for this book! As soon as I started to read, I was immediately immersed and I savored every single word. It consumed me and I let it soak deep inside my bones! The Prologue will have you feral for more. After reading “Backstroke,” the first book in the “Boys of Frampton U” series, I knew I would fall head over heels for these two “Shark” boys, Grayson and Phoenix. Half of my heart belongs to these boys, and the other half belongs to Rowyn. She is a strong spit fire! She has survived so much in her life and her walls are built high. Enter Gray and Nix! They want to break her to make her theirs, but they are the ones who break first. Their dominance and obsession should be feared but Rowyn is not afraid! Go buy, download, or do whatever you need to do to get your hands on this book. I can’t get enough of LB Martin’s writing. I AM ADDICTED!!! “Run, little juvie.”
ARC Review of Freestyle Book 2 in Boys Of Frampton U Series by L.B. Martin. I have been waiting for this book since I finished Backstroke the first book in the series months ago. This is an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. I absolutely love this book its definitely 5 stars for me. I am obsessed with all these tropes I always go for dark and why choose is definitely a favorite of mine especially MMF and I love a college setting. I have been dying for Row, Nix and Gray since getting glimpses of them in the first book. I love that this book is done from a three way POV. This book is fast paced and spicy right out the gate that prologue is fire but there is a good plot, suspense, twist and turns, and depth to the characters as well. I wish there was a little more on the swimming like in the first book but still good. I love how it starts out mfm where they just want Rowyn but along the way it turns into MMF when Nix accepts his attraction to Gray. This is a dark, college, bully, swimmers, suspense, spicy, MMF, why choose romance. This is Grayson aka Gray, Rowyn Aka Row, and Phoenix aka Nix story. Gray, Nix and Row, all go to Frampton University Gray and Nix are seniors and Sharks on the University swim team. Gray and Nix like to share and they have chosen Row for the night when they see her at a party at the swim mansion at first its just supposed to be a one night stand and weeks go by but they can’t stop thinking about her and she cant stop thinking about them. Row is a waitress while attending school she is a sophmore she has had a hard life she was abandoned by her parents at an orphanage when she was 5 and has been in and out of foster homes and had something traumatic happen to her. Grays sister Lyndsy is Rows best friend which makes things complicated. Gray and Nix are extremely obsessive and possessive and aren’t giving up they want Row to be there’s she puts up a fight knowing their reputation but they blackmail her. Even through all their bullying she is still attracted to them and has a pull towards them. I love how even when Row is submitting she is still defiant and strong and pushes back and fights them when she needs to. I also love how much Nix and Gray care about her even if they show it in a crazy way that want to protect her and take care of her. They will kill anyone who tries to hurt her.
Although the second book in this series, it stands on its own. No need to read “Backstroke” (but you’ll miss meeting Remy 🥵)
"Freestyle" takes us on an electrifying journey through the choppy waters of love, betrayal, and the ghosts of the past…
This MMF romance has compelling characters who are both deeply flawed and irresistibly captivating. The story weaves a tale that explores the relationships between morally gray heroes and a scarred heroine, making it impossible to put down. (I might have read this in one sitting) 😂 🥱
At the heart of the story is Rowyn, a spirited character whose rebellious nature is a front for a troubled past. She’s trying to outrun her secrets while dealing with the magnetic pull of Phoenix and Gray, both of whom are fighting their own emotional battles! The enemies-to-lovers trope is a favourite of mine, and this book does it beautifully, as initial animosities transform into a fiercely passionate bond that kept me guessing about what will happen next.
The character development in "Freestyle” is superb. Phoenix is a god on campus… confident, assertive, (and eventually fiercely protective of Rowyn.) His obsession with her is both consuming and complex. Gray, the quieter force, is equally compelling. His stormy intensity balances out Phoenix’s boldness, and their dynamic creates an electric tension throughout the book. 🥵 🥵 🥵
Rowyn, with her scars and past experiences shapes her into a strong yet vulnerable character. She fights against her attraction to the two men, trying to maintain her independence while grappling with her history. Her journey towards loving herself while navigating the chaos created by Phoenix and Gray’s intense feelings is both frustrating and fun to watch.
Descriptive language with snappy dialogue that brings each character to life, is what makes this book for me. The emotional moments pull you in, you watch as Rowyn struggles and then triumphs. (There was plenty of shouting at my kindle!) The pacing is just right, allowing for moments of tension and release, making every twist and turn in the story feel earned.
If you enjoy stories of flawed characters discovering love in a world of complexities, then "Freestyle" should be at the top of your reading list.
Dive into this captivating tale, but be prepared for an emotional ride that just might leave you breathless.
I really enjoy sports romance, and if the mmcs are on the swim team then it’s a must read, because just imagine water dripping off those hot as heck abs. Ok enough of my weird imagery. There really is only one swimming scene but I’ll take it. This book has a very typical bully romance type setup. First half, they’re bullying her, making her life harder, blackmailing her and all that stuff. Then halfway through they realise she’s been through some rough sh*t and decide to protect her instead. But under the gauze of a bully romance this book is about healing and acceptance. Rowyn has been through so much and came out tough (and what she went through made me sick so check triggers PLEASE). Her journey of learning to trust other and allowing herself to be loved was so heartwarming. Now, Phoenix or Nix, and Gray are hot assholes, but they’re Rowyn’s hawt assholes. They’re possessive and protective and just the right amount of morally grey, because you’ll realize that they’re not just typical college students. This plot though having a typical structure wasn’t typical in content. I was pretty hooked onto the plot, it had some good plot twists and a great happy ending. For the spicy stuff it’s mostly MFM, but turns into MMF (so there’s mm action) near the end! My only little issue is that little juvie is a terrible nickname, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry every time Gray said it. Sunshine (which is what Nix calls Rowyn), is so much better. I enjoyed this but it didn’t really stand out to me so for me it’s a 3.5/5
Rowyn, was a woman who went through torture to get to where she is today her character proved all is possible at the end to get with her men I loved the spice between the guys and her and the things they accomplished to get their happily ever after at the end. It proved she was a strong person for beating her past and trying her best to escape it.
I was glad the guys had her back soon as they all learned what she has gone through I thought this was showing what a capable woman needs and has to through all the way through this book. The way the guys supported her proved they could accomplish of falling in love after the hurt Rowyn has gone through as a child to get through to where she is now.
It was an enemies to lovers at first but the way the relationship started is the way they connected all at once to get to where they are at the end. The way the guys got together fast is what I like in a why choose more than anything and proving they have what it takes and they did do it. I thought this was a remarked read and the guys and Rowyn connected with each other on a spiritual level at the end. The connection they had between each other was proving they had what it takes to be in a relationship with each other.
LB Martin, step forward please. Ma’am you did that! Freestyle was that and more! Right off the rip we jumped into the spice and I’m not mad at it! I was only like a fourth of the way and I’m staring at my kindle like what is about to happen! I’m drawn in like a moth to a flame. Gray and Nix are too hot to handle! What is about hot, possessive and obsessive men( only in books lol) that is so delicious? They were obsessed from the start and poor Rowyn didn’t stand a chance. She tried to resist them but it didn’t work. These men have some dirty mouths and I’m here for it. They had our girl bended like a pretzel. The spicy scenes were hot 🥵 like a jalapeño. Not only was the physical good but so was the mental/emotional! Rowyn went through some trauma and her men made sure they were respectful of her boundaries( well when they found out). The way they love each other is beautiful! They give each other what they need. Nix and Gray will burn the world and anyone who hurts Rowyn( they literally did). Eventually they make each other feel safe, loved and heard. This book had me hooked, it was finished in a day. It was a beautiful story and I can’t wait for the next one.
Check your trigger warnings before reading because it get's dark.
We have a very strong fmc who has picked herself up from her past, the best way she knew how, dealing with everything on her own, no family, no parents, just herself. So when these two guys try to make her submit, she isn't having it. Gray is her best friend's brother and Nix is his best friend, they both share her for one night, thinking once will be enough after seeing her on a night out dancing.
I had a couple of moments in the book, where i wanted to scream at the characters ( wink wink) But i am in love with the three of them. Row is just, so strong like i said, with all that she went through, how she felt, handling it all on her own, not wanting to give away her independance, safe guarding her heart. The guys's pov's were everything. I just love that the further i got in the book the more obsessed they became... That's what i like in my fictional men, if they're not obsessed i don't want them.
Oh and the spice was spicing!!!!!!! ( i wish you could see my smirk right now)
I loved Remy and Fallon's book but this one is even better. i am very excited for the next book.
If you thought Remy was obsessed and willing to do anything for Fallon, Gray and Nix said hold my beer!!!
This story was absolutely amazing and consumed me from start to finish! The character development and individual growth each person had was fantastic. A why choose, bi-awakening college swim team romance with very dark elements. Be sure to check your trigger warnings before reading this book.
Rowyn had a past she keeps kidded away from everyone. Until that past starts to come back to haunt her. What started out as bullying, Gray and Nix have quickly become obsessed with her and that includes protecting her.
The spice was off the charts, wet your panties AMAZING!!! If there’s one thing that’s for certain, it’s L.B. Martin knows how to write a freaking book!!!
This Why-Choose Dark College Swim Team Bully Romance is a read I could not put down. Be sure to check TW before reading. Otherwise dive into this incredible story that will have you swooning and your heart beating fast. Rowyn our FMC who is strong and fierce and doesn't date because of something that happened when she was young. Grey and Nix our MMC's who are best friends. And when they set their sights on Rowyn little do they know what is in store for them. This story is exciting, suspenseful, panty melting spicy 🌶️🥵, heartwarming, possessive, protective, and the ending is very awesome. This is my first book by LB Martin and I will definitely be reading more of her books. I highly recommend this book.
This is why-choose, bi awakening, college hockey romance. Check TW!
Gray & Nix set their sights on Rowyn one night at a party. There is some dub-con but it ends with a one night stand. Rowyn knows they never do more.
Fast forward a few weeks and the semester is over. Rowyn agrees to stay with her bff for the summer. Her bff is Gray’s sister.
Gray hasn’t forgotten that one night. In fact it’s ingrained in his head. Nix? He flopped swim meet because he couldn’t get her out of his head.
This story includes childhood trauma, a stalker (and not the good kind), friends to lovers, one night to more, best friends brother and loads of spice.
Row, Nix, and Gray. OH MY Gosh! Hold on to your hats. This story starts out and by the end of the first chapter the spice if off the charts. It dips here and there as it's needed to tell the story however you're constantly trying to figure out what's going to happen next and who's going to do what. This is the 2nd book in the series and now I'm going to have to go back and read the first because I have to find out what I missed. Yes, this is a darker story, with some triggers so read those before getting the book. There's bi-awakening, BDSM, and a bit of dubcon as well. I love how the boys have gone from just sharing to more in this book and I feel that it's a better story with that mixed in and creates a totally awesome ending. Loved it!
Freestyle by LB Martin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gray, Nix, and Rowyn Yes Yes Yes!!! Been waiting on this book and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Rowyn swears off boys after her what happened in her past. Gray and Nix are best friends and on the swim team while having feeling towards each other they have not acted on. When they set their eyes on Rowyn they know they want her but she’s not going to make it easy. Will her past interfere with their future or will it stay in the past?
You have done it again! Another amazing instalment from L.B. Martin! I am loving the Frampton University Boys ❤️ This story is about Rowyn, Gray and Phoenix. Rowyn is a strong tough FMC who has had to become this way due to her childhood through various foster homes. Gray and Nix discover that one night with Row was never enough and their obsession grows. The chemistry between these 3 is hot 🔥, the looks, the touches 😍. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey, and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
MMF spicy bully collage romance?? Ohhh yes please! L.B. Martin did it again with this one. Check the trigger warnings because it’s a bit on the darker side. I love the emotional roller coaster Rowen, Gray, and Phoenix take you on. At one point I hated the guys then I couldn’t help but liking them. I laughed, cried, and maybe even wanted to throat punch people. Can I read this again for the first time?? Each book quickly becomes my favorite.
This was such an amazing and intense and suspenseful book I just couldn’t put it down!! As soon as I picked it up and started reading I knew it was going to be yet another 5 ⭐️ read from her. I was so saddened by the fact the book was over I swear I was only reading for 30 minutes lol😂 but no seriously this was such a good book I’m so happy I had the opportunity to read this wonderful book!
This was really good. I I love the Dynamics between the main characters. I love the push and pull between all three of them. I love how their relationship change throughout the book and in the end they all pretty much were able to come to a place where they realized how they really felt. Is definitely well written love the mystery of the story The Plot was unique.
Wowza! Definitely better than book 1. The mix of spice and plot is perfectly balanced and will keep you in your feels chapter after chapter. Rowan, grey and nix brought this story together and I can’t wait to find out what happens next ❤️
First Backstroke, now Freestyle— whew, it’s definitely getting wet in here. L.B. Martin is on a roll with these men. The first book was just an appetizer, and now… well, now she has more than proven she knows how to write men who are not lightly sprinkled in red flags, they’re soaked in them. 🤭 😮💨
Freestyle You want to hate them—I know I did so many times, buuuuut, the underlying fact is you hate that you want them, times TWO! And there isn’t a dam thing you can do about it. TWO men, both equally ‘so bad it feels so good’, Gray and Nix will have you begging to come- over and play, just like they do with Rowyn. I mean, who would say no to a little more exercise? Because, dam, after they’re done, I, need a nap. 🥵 As always, trigger warnings are there for a reason; please read them before deciding to dive in, mental health is the most important part. Now get the &$! out of here and go read the book already!!
Once I started reading, and didn't stop. There was drama, a bit of suspense, secrets, and lots of emotions. Rowyn, Gray, and Phoenix had undeniable chemistry. Even though Rowyn was hesitant and kept pushing them away, the guys never gave up. The spice, is definitely off the charts! It starts in the first chapter. I think the author wrapped up their story perfectly.
I loved this book read! Read through it so fast I was sad it was over !! I love a possessive Male Role and then add 2 OMG !! The banter is great . She’s been through the foster care system and is one tough girl . 10/10 recommend
After reading backstroke I was so looking forward to reading freestyle, freestyle is book 2 in the Frampton university series it didn’t disappoint.
This book had my emotions shot, Rowyn, Gray and Phoenix story takes you on a journey were you will dislike the two main male characters for a while but my the end you will fall in love with them.
How L.B. Martin has written Rowyn part I’m lost for words, she has covered a hard topic made me feel everything that Rowyn went through and to see her character come through so much even stronger .
Please read the trigger warning first before starting this book.
Wow.... this really isn't a story for the fainthearted. Understand the trigger warnings before reading. It's a lot to take in. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, but some parts were even difficult for me, but I was determined to plough through and finish the book. Absolutely harrowing storyline but well written, superb characters, and I loved the HEA. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.
I’ve been waiting forever for this book and it did not disappoint. You don’t have to read Backstroke to understand Freestyle but it’s still good to read before. This trio was everything and I can’t wait for Butterfly!!! I already preordered it!!
What you get...... ♡Dark Romance ♡Sports Romance ♡Swim team ♡Bully ♡Enemies to Lovers ♡Obsession ♡Masked Men ♡Emotional Scars ♡Dark Secret ♡Stalker ♡Jealous ♡Possessive ♡Touch her & ☠️ ♡Best Friend’s Brother ♡Dub Con ♡Badass, Curvy, and Feisty FMC ♡”Good girl" ♡BDSM ♡Great Banter ♡Bi Awakening ♡Why Choose ♡MFM-to-MMF Romance ♡Morally Grey Heroes ♡Scarred Heroine ♡Mental Health Rep
Phoenix and Gray become obsessed with Rowyn after their one night together. She is strong and independent. She doesn't want to share the trauma of her past and pushes the guys away but their chemistry is sizzling hot!! 🥵🔥🥵🔥🥵🔥
The character growth is great. I enjoyed their story so much! Definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotions but so worth the ride!!
LB does a great job of sucking us into her stories and making us love her characters!! I can't wait for the next book!!
Rowyn becomes an obsession for Gray & Phoenix and they won’t stop until the break her. But is she the only one that will break? ✨Check your triggers!✨ This one is dark and suspenseful. A little darker than I usually like, but I enjoyed the story. The characters growth and seeing how they change and love fiercely was such an emotional roller coaster. Please check your triggers, I don’t have any but there were still parts that made me bawl my eyes out & were hard to stomach. Can’t wait to see what’s next 💕
What to expect: bully/enemies to lovers, MMF, touch her and die, obsessed MMC, masked men, morally grey MCs, stalker, man obsessed, best friend's brother (and his BFF)
Trigger warning: the author includes a pretty comprehensive list at the beginning of the book. Definitely check it out before diving in if you have any potential triggers.
Review: 2.5/5
I was really looking forward to returning to Frampton University but, unfortunately this one didn't really hit the mark for me. Let's talk about it.
Things I liked: - LB Martin can write a spicy scene and boy do we dive into the spice right away. Slow burn? Who's she? Not happening at Frampton U! The spice is often and hot and if that's what you're looking for, this could scratch that itch...
Things I disliked or missed the mark: - ...but honestly, that's was about it. I had lots of problems with the rest of the book. To start, I don't feel like you really get to know any of the MCs of this relationship. Yes, we met all of them in book one. But I don't feel like I know them much more after reading book two. We learn a lot about Rowyn's past. But not really Gray's or Nix's. And, despite learning about Row's past, you get nothing beyond being told what happened. You don't really learn about the fallout, how she coped, how she managed in the system for another nine years, etc. Like, what happened to her happened, and now she's in college. That's it. These characters could have been full of so much depth but we don't get any of that. - I mentioned this in my review for book one and it rings true again in book two but I had a hard time grasping the passage of time in the book. - Along with that, I felt like chucks of the book were missing. Like, there were so many sections where I was like, "When did we learn that?" or "How did we get here?" It was just very disjointed. For example, at one point Nix says something to Rowyn about remembering when they talked about her favorite place on campus and Rowyn immediately responds with "the fountain." This is legitimately the first mention of a fountain. There could have been so much opportunity to form a connection between the characters by *showing* us this conversation. But no. Instead, you get a random info drop of this conversation previously happening to simply move the story along. All of a sudden we're worshiping Rowyn's scars when there's literally been no past mention of physical reminders of her past. Rowyn has had literally no problem reaching climax the entire book both before and after the, well, story's climax, and all of a sudden she needs their coaching and encouragement to get there. And then she does like six times in a row. It was just so choppy. And, on top of that, the language just felt so repetitive. The same descriptor was used for the same thing within a few paragraphs of one another in several spots. The characters have the same back-and-forth in dialogue and within their thoughts within a single interaction. It was exhausting reading it. Honestly, I hit the 40% mark and I just started skimming hoping it would get better. - I understand the Frampton U series is meant to be an interconnected standalone series. But I was so bummed we didn't get more Fallon or Remy cameos. Like, Fallon is in one scene at the beginning and one scene at the end. Remy makes a couple more appearances but every one was surface level. It made it feel like, "Oh crap. I haven't really included Remy or Fallon in anything. Let's drop them into a few scenes so we get to see them," but those appearances were gratuitous at best.
So, that was a bummer. I hate to feel this way because I was very excited for this follow-up installment to Frampton U. Now, that said, I had an ARC and I noticed when I was looking at the GR page to write this review, the book details showed it was 467 pages. My ARC was 328. That's obviously a HUGE difference. Perhaps some of my biggest issues were resolved between ARCs and the final publication. It stands to reason that a lot of story was added to account for all those additional pages. If that's the case, here's hoping it helped cleaned up some of the messiness (and some of the grammar, spelling, and unnecessary character errors because the ARC copy was full of them. Not holding that against the ARC because I know it was likely still in edits but worth noting given my other issues). I'm bummed I didn't love this one. I haven't decided if I'll be back to enroll at FU again in the future. We'll have to see if the mood strikes.
The boys of Frampton University's swim team are all known for their prestige and excellence in the water. Their dominance and ruthless competitiveness invoke nothing but fear in all those who cross them. Phoenix Huntington and Gray Ford are the new Sharks on campus, and more than that they are Rowyn's personal nightmares.
Rowyn grew up in foster care and it left her with this rebellious streak and a juvenile record a mile long. She's bounced from home to home finding nothing but indifference. Through it all she's learned to trust no one and knowing that no one cared, she just masked all her pain.
All Rowyn wants to do is just survive the life she's been given and move on and try to find something better. She knows that the only way she'll find a better life is to study and get the best education possible, at least until THEY throw a hammer into all her plans.
Rowyn now finds that she's nothing more than their plaything, and they have decided that Rowyn belongs to them...
Phoenic knows that together with Gray, they are the new gods on campus, and no one would dare to say a word otherwise. Except for this hotheaded, spicy tiny blonde who refuses to roll over and just accept her fate. Phoenix finds that he's never been this consumed, all it took was one taste of that spicy girl. Now, he's addicted to her. And Gray, Phoenix knows that they have an undeniable connection, and he finds that it's awakening something in him that he's never felt before and never even knew existed before.
Gray knew that senior year was supposed to have been a walk in the park for them, but then again, when have plans ever gone as planned? Rowyn Caddel took both Gray and Phoenix by surprise, and neither one of them believed an innocent hookup was going to end up turning into an obsession.
Gray is the quiet, reserved one between him and Phoenix, but at the same time that doesn't mean that Gray isn't just as dominant. His silence is just hiding a storm of intensity, and Rowyn's rebellion is powering it.
Rowyn thinks that she can outrun them, that she can hide from them, that she doesn't belong to them. But, she doesn't realize just how wrong she is. The little juvie can run and hide, but Phoenix and Gray will always find her.
Everyone always knows that secrets never stay buried or stay in the shadows, and for Rowyn, her past is no different.
As the demons that Rowyn has kept buried in the shadows slowly come back to haunt her, can Phoenix and Gray navigate these stormy seas and save her from drowning?
Will Phoenix, Gray, and Rowyn all be pulled under by the weight of her past and eventually ripped apart little by little?
This book is an enemies-to-lovers, MMF romance that has morally gray heroes and and scarred and scared FMC. Are you truly ready to dive into Frampton University?
YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Please read and consider the trigger warnings before you start reading this book. There are some subjects and scenes in this book that are not suitable for all readers and could be triggering for others. Please remember that your mental health always comes first.
Freestyle is book 2 in the Boys of Frampton U. A MMF Dark College Bully Romance by L.B. Martin. I have been waiting for this book ever since I read the first book in this series Backstroke. I loved this book, the why-choose element, the bi awakening, and I did enjoy that it was a hockey romance as I am starting to enjoy hockey romances more and more.
Gray and Phoenix (Nix) are new to Frampton University and one night at a party they see Rowyn and they set their eyes on her. There's a little bit of dub-con here, but the night ends with Gray and Phoenix end up having a one-night stand with Rowyn. Rowyn knows their reputation, they never do more than just a one-night stand, but, she's fine with that.
A few weeks later, as the semester ends, Rowyn agrees to stay with her best friend for the summer, her best friend just happens to be Gray's sister.
The thing is, Gray hasn't forgotten that one night he spent with Rowyn and Nix. Really, it's burned into his head. And as for Nix? He's been messing up swim meets because he can't get that night out of his head, because he can't get Rowyn out of his head.
Freestyle is more than just an MMF story, an enemies-to-lovers story, a why-choose story. Freestyle includes the story of childhood trauma, a not-so-good kind of stalker, and loads and loads of spice.
I loved the characters in this book. I loved the world that L.B. Martin has created in Frampton University. The storyline with the plot and subplot was perfectly created and I just loved every moment of it.
I recommend this book if you enjoy high spice, why-choose, enemies-to-lovers, MMF, childhood trauma, and a great storyline. And I do recommend L.B. Martin as an author. L.B. is a great author with an amazing voice.
Freestyle is the second book in Boys of Frampton University. Through this story, the author expresses beautiful storytelling skills with emotional depth, humor, well-developed characters, captivating plot, romance, mystery, and intrigue. This fast-paced story is filled with twists, turns, and unexpected surprises that delve into complex moral themes and feature a dark bully romance and enemies to lovers trope yet it's so much more than that. Once you start reading, it's impossible to put the book down due to its addictive and intoxicating nature.
Rowyn Caddel is a foster care survivor. That experience alone taught her not to trust anyone and to mask her pain. Rowyn is a complex character: feisty, brave, determined, down-to-earth, and vulnerable. She is guarded due to her past, but she's not afraid to stand up for herself and challenge the arrogant and dominant swim team boys, Phoenix Huntington and Gray Ford, when she catches their attention and becomes an object of their obsession. Rowyn is also strong and independent, having built walls around herself to cope with her past. On the other hand, Phoenix and Gray see themselves as gods on campus, but their lives are disrupted and turned upside down by Rowyn and her rebellious nature. Phoenix is captivated by Rowyn's spirit/determination, and Gray is drawn to her intensity. Despite their initial reluctance, they find themselves drawn to her and consumed by their desire. At first, they believe they can "fix" her and "break" her, but as they start opening up to each other, allowing vulnerability, their feelings and connection deepen. Both Nix and Gray have secrets and demons of their own, which threaten to ruin their relationship with Rowyn, same as Rowyn's past. This adds another layer of complexity to the story. The dynamic between Rowyn, Nix, and Gray is one of mutual obsession, but also a deep emotional connection. I love the way Nix and Gray were willing to do whatever it takes to protect and care for Rowyn. What started as an entangled and complex web of attraction and obsession became an epic love. They were flawed and endearing, making me root for them.
