Knotty Puckers #9

Pucking with the Enemy

Rate this book
After years away from home, I find myself in a situation that forces me to move back.

Unfortunately it comes with a condition: I have to find a pack. The thing is, I don’t want just any Alphas. And I sure as hell don’t want the ones my mother will try to set me up with.

I’ll play my mother’s game for now. But what I need is to come up with a way to get money fast so I can get out from under her roof and get a place of my own.

Growing up, my only escape was the three guys I game with online.

They are my safe place. A place where I’m able to be myself without judgment.

They also happen to be the men I’ve been in love with for years, keeping me from finding love in the real world.

I can’t keep living like this forever, though. I have to make a choice. I have to tell them how I feel, or move on.

Unfortunately, the choice gets taken away from me when I attend an event, where I meet two Alphas who happen to be my scent matches.

They're not just my scent matches, but also players on my stepbrother’s rival hockey team.

They’re supposed to be the enemy. Yet they feel like anything but.

So much is changing. My online friends have been distancing themselves, my stepbrother is more annoyed by my presence than he ever was before, and my new Alphas seem conflicted by something I’m unaware of.

I’m torn between the life I’ve built online and the one in the real world. I want them both. But I can’t have them.

Or can I?

With each passing day, new things come to light. Things aren’t how they appear.

Maybe, just maybe I can have the best of both worlds.

Another awesome omegaverse story from Alisha Williams!

I had so much fun reading this. The dynamics between Addison, Damien, Carson, and Reid were everything. Addie was definitely spoiled for choice with this pack, and I loved seeing her find a true sense of family with them. Surrounded by alphas who support her, care for her, and let her be unapologetically herself. Especially after everything she’s dealt with from her awful mother!

The three alphas were fantastic. Their constant bickering and antagonising each other had me laughing so much, but at the end of the day, they always put Addie first and that’s what made this pack so special.

Fun, chaotic, emotional, and full of heart with a HEA to top it all off. What more could you want? 😁

Hockey omegaverse with anonymous gamers?! I don’t know how Alisha made that work but SHE DID IT! This was a phenomenal omegaverse with the right amount of spice, plot, and suspense. Addie and the boys showed up and showed out. It has forbidden love, rich pricks, evil witch of a mother, superstar step dad, the golden retriever, the alphahole, and the logical one. ALL in one book! There are some dark elements so please be mindful of the trigger warnings but that ending was so romantically sweet. I loved it!!

Another great addition to the Knotty Puckers series! I felt for Addison wanting independence but being forced back under her mom’s control when things didn’t work out. This book of course was packed with hockey, alphas, scent matches, drama, and of course and an HEA!

So the dynamics between the characters really made this story for me 😂 Damien, Carson and Reid are trouble - being rivals and teammates they bicker constantly and antagonise each other in a way where you can’t help but smirk reading this book 😏 yet they really adore Addie and support her through all that’s she’s faced and is facing - particularly from her own mother 😳
As always with Williams books there’s a fair bit of emotional back and forth/push and pull but it really gives you the depth of the Addies character and her strength to keep muddling through 👑 I could have done with a bit more of questions answered around her mum and felt a little abrupt at the end! Other than that a good OV read 😁

Little one. Sweet girl. Cupcake. Princess. Baby girl.

Addison has a lot of nicknames… and somehow, some of them came from her alphas before she even knew who they really were.

And that reveal? Yeah… it hits.

Addie’s story is not an easy one. She’s dealing with:
• losing her best friend (moved away)
• being abandoned by her mom for her lifestyle
• getting blackmailed into moving back home
• a stepbrother who (supposedly) hates her
• forced pack dates
• emotional/verbal abuse

It’s a lot. And you feel every bit of it.

But through all of that, she finds herself—with the help of her online gamer best friends… who just so happen to be way more than they seem 👀

Carson, Reid, and Damien?
Rivals. Teammates. Packmates.

And the chaos really starts when Damien realizes Addison’s new alphas are them—her gamer friends: Death, Grim, and Waffle.

The tension.
The secrecy.
The betrayal.
The yearning.

I loved the back-and-forth and the emotional push-pull between all of them.

That said, I did want just a little more at the end—especially when it comes to:
• Damien’s dad
• Addie’s mom
• the truth behind their dynamic

And also… WHO was the mysterious tipper??
Did I miss it or are we being set up for more? 🤔

Despite a few lingering questions, I genuinely loved this story. Addie’s journey, the pack dynamic, and the emotional layers made this such an engaging read.

✨ Definitely adding Addie and her men to my trophy shelf 📚

Gamer Girl, her gamer besties and hockey

First off I love a gamer girl and one who is actually good enough and has her in game besties. These four have been playing together for a long time and they are all hiding their feelings because they don't know any of the personal details about each other.

Addison has been forced to move back home after her mother cut her off. Unfortunately she also had to agree to go on dates with packs of her mothers choosing....I absolutely hated that woman and couldn't believe her step dad stayed with her. Of course the pack her Mother sets her up with are the typical older boring men who don't actually care about the omega as they are not really a person to them. I cheered when they gave up on Addison.

The date that was at an event however, turned out to be so much more than she could have expected. It definitely ended better than it started but also a lot more complicated.

I loved all the nicknames in this one - cupcake, little one, sweet girl, princess and baby girl.

This was such a good story. There were a lot of struggles coming to grip with not only having these scent matches but with who they all were.

I loved this book but definitely felt like there was more going on with Mom that we never got. Plus the deal with her step dad staying with that witch. (Though I do know we will be getting more stories including step dad so maybe we will see more).

Alisha is OV Queen. She writes the best OV stories. She's very diverse with her stories too and I love it.

This was a cute quick read. It was so good that you fly through it quickly and wish you could slow down and savor it more. Also I have to point out that in real life I am not a sports fan at all, but she somehow writes sports that never bothers me at all. I enjoy it.

In this story we get Addie who is a sweet girly girl who loves to game with her best friends when she has the time. Sadly she finds herself in a position that she has to move back home. Home where she'll be under her mother's demands and control. She use to be close to her stepbrother when they first met, but something happened that made him pull away from her and she doesn't know what. She misses him. They lose contact for six years and she'll finally come face to face with him after all the time apart. That's when things start to get interesting.

Addie starts to find some good in her crappy situation. Life changing things happen that change everyone's lives and its a great adventure .

I highly recommend Alisha's OV books. I recommend all her books, but her OV books are something special. She always includes people who show real insecurities that us readers can relate to that makes us appreciate the story more. I love it. Go read it and all the rest of her books. I promise you will love them too.

Pucking With The Enemy - Alisha Williams
5/5✨🌟

* SPOILERS *

I have been wanting to read this book since I saw the teasers and this book definitely did not disappoint. I loved the dynamic with Addie and her alphas. Damien, Reid and Carson were the perfect alphas for her.

I’m a huge lover for a forbidden romance and to mix in the stepbrother into the mix is exactly perfect. I really loved the gamer plot that got thrown into it and how the guys she has been gaming with for years are not who they seem to be.

Addie’s mom is really a piece of work and I love how Damien doesn’t let her talk to him a certain way. I loved it when he stood his ground because that was the breaking point.

I love how at the end of the day these alphas would do anything for her and put their differences to the side. When their identities come forth, things get interesting for sure.

Lastly, the stepdad needs his own book because Addie’s mom is an evil witch that doesn’t deserve him because he’s such a good man.

If you haven’t read any of Alisha’s books, read this one! Her books are just top tier when it comes to omegaverse.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest review.

Yes!

Scent matches, hockey players, blended family, controlling mother, and a bubblegum pink omega... this standalone omegaverse has it all.

Pucking With The Enemy has an omega that is down on her luck so she has no choice but to move back home with her mom and stepdad. But it comes with a condition...Addie must date and find a pack. Oh, and Addie will have to face her stepbrother, the one that she might have a major crush on. And deal with the crushes she has on her three best friends that she games with...yet has never seen or met.

This was entertaining in so many ways. I loved how her mates put aside everything for her. Her mother is so cruel and you just want her to be happy. Although the ending was a little abrupt. I wanted just a little bit more on what happened next.

Got to love possessive Alpha hockey players!

Another hit! I just love this book. Hockey Omegaverse, ummm yes, please! This is my first read in this series and it's a standalone.

Addison is having the worst luck and having to move back in with get mom (after she cut her off) and step-dad on a condition her mother set that she has to go on dates with packs she sets up. Addison is not happy about this because she is her own person and a gamer that has a crush on three guys that she has been gaming with and best friends with for years. The thing is they've never met.

Back home, Addison runs into her stepbrother Damien and it's tense. She's had a crush on him too but he has definitely been jerky to her.

I don't want to spoil anything but this book has hockey rivals, scent matches, secret crushes, evil mother, and unexpected mates. I just loved this book! A must read.

Loved!!

Alisha’s writing is something I can never get enough of, something in the way Alisha writes always pulls me in. This was another amazing book by Alisha. I really liked the characters, plot and everything about it.

I liked the FMC Addison she was such a good character. Her style and vibes had me wanting more every page turn. I really loved the vibe. Damien was so cute with Addison I love how he was so in love with her. And while Carson and Reid were on opposing teams I liked how they all seemed to fit together. Each brought something different to the relationship and their dynamic and chemistry was so good!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I highly recommend if you like omegaverse and hockey! It was a beautiful read and I can’t wait to put it on my reread list!

Love KP!!

Another great book by Alisha Williams, and I loved this addition to the Knotty Puckers world. If you read Jenn's book in this world, you may remember Cae's bestie/roommate Addison, and were left wondering what happened to her. The wait is over, and it's time to read Addison's adventures with her alphas!

We have Omega Addison having to move back in with her mother after cutting her off. With few options, Addison is forced to comply with some of her mom's conditions. While fulfilling them, she discovers two of her scent matches who end up being rivals of her step-brother. Damien, Carson, and Reid are so different, but through some unexpected shared history between the four of them...things may just work out exactly how they were meant to.

review of advanced readers copy

When previously privileged gamer girl Addison realizes the real world is harder then she thought she was makes the choice to return home to her controlling mother and step family. But returning home doesn’t mean she’s giving up her online family. I found it refreshing that we saw an omega that came to understood how tough the world is without some of the darker wake up calls we have seen in this series. This story led such a sweet and spicy path from realizing real life is hard but it’s made better with a hot alpha or 3 and sometimes you can have your cake and eat it too. Would have loved a little more of a wrap to the ending but you know what sometimes it’s okay to not have it all figured out.

Amazing Omegaverse Story!!

I absolutely adored this omegaverse story where Addy is very much herself and does not apologize for the way she dresses or acts. Even though her mother is horrible she sticks up for herself and tries to change her mother’s plans for her.
Then she meets her pack which was totally love at first sight but with a surprise twist.
You really have to read it to find out what the twist is as it’s not what you think.
Alisha thanks for another great omegaverse book!!!

couldn’t get enough of Addie and her boys!

Addie finally breaks free of her mean mom while she’s off at college only to find herself moving back home with a condition… her Mom is going to find her an Alpha pack. Gaming is her happy place, and she loves playing with her three besties, only she doesn’t know them as well as she thinks she does!

Oh my goodness, I loved this story and I’m desperate for more. I felt for Addie, she’s put through so much… and when she finds her alphas, it’s not without trouble and my heart broke for her so many times! I’m super hoping that we’ll hear more about Addie and her boys, I hope to read more from this author.

Holy hot stepbrother!!!🥵🥵🔥🔥

I really enjoyed this new release by Alisha Williams. I’m somewhat new to the stepbrother trope and holy smokes. I am a changed woman. I think Damien did end up being my favorite character even though I didn’t think that was gonna be the case at first. But I mean, come on stealing the pillows, the constant need to be inside of her. What’s not to love? Then you get the hidden identities twist it was just so good!!! I’d only read that in one other book and I also loved it.

I always love Alisha's omegaverse stories and I absolutely ate this one up. Binged it in one sitting. I loved the gaming aspect of this! It was something different plotwise and that was a refreshing change for me. The spice was so good, but it also had some super sweet moments. I really loved watching Addie & her guys find their HEA, despite some of the obstacles in their way! Another great addition to the Knotty Puckers series!

This is such a tangled web of a story! It’s an amazing story because the main characters all have two identities; who they really are and their online personas. I love that they know each other without knowing each other! That’s such a cool concept. A surprise heat really adds some spice. My favorite aspect is that Addie doesn’t immediately jump into the relationship. You just have to read it! It’s a great story!

Oh my gosh, I loved this book! Damien was an enigma to me for a bit but overall I was thrilled with the progress he makes once he realizes he’s not doing anyone any favors. Carson and Reid are immediately perfect, and I loved Carson’s golden retriever personality! Addie is just the adorable pink bow on the perfect pink package. I loved the thread of fate that brings everyone together and the adversity they overcome.

Pucking with the Enemy by Alisha Williams is part of the Knotty Puckers shared world. Every book in this series has been really good. Addie meets her scent matched alpha hockey players under somewhat surprising circumstances. There are so many fun aspects to their story. Forbidden step-brother, step-brother’s hockey enemies, and online friendships that could be more. Her alphas will do anything for Addie, but they made some mistakes that require a bit of groveling. Spicy hot with major mama drama. Loved it!!!

Honestly loved this adorable but crazy love triangle that was established. Was it really a love triangle? Or just the unknown who everyone was during the book. Either way, loved how it all played out. I was hooked the whole time. Punky girly girl gets everything she dreamed of. She just had to get past her bitchy hateful jealous mother.
