Am I right? You're smarter than most, embrace old fashioned morals, love your country, dogs, and guns... and dig ruthless fiction...

Hi! I'm Clayton Lindemuth, and my novels embrace rural noir truth. Mind your own business, be slow to anger. But don't ever back down to evil. Justice happens when the wicked die.

If we're tracking so far, I wrote My Brother's Destroyer, and all the rest, just for you.

You'll stay awake too late, underline fun new ways to cuss, muse about new philosophies and read random passages to strangers to make the world a better place.

Literary depth. Thriller pace. If you've got the stomach to watch evil men die, dress for the woods and grab a lamp. We've work to do.

An excellent book. Fiction...Is it?

This is a work of fiction. Or is it? In present day America it is difficult to discern.

The author has presented so thoughts hereinT that, as a student of history, have in fact crossed my mind.

To whom do I recommend this book, becomes an interesting question as well.

So. Let me say it this way.

“IF” you, as a reader, can put your “political ideology” aside, regardless of whether it’s left or right, and read it with an “open mind” then by all means read it.

Will you enjoy it? That’s a different issue...It will however induce within you some new thoughts.

Thank you Mr. Lindemuth for a thought provoking, well written read and a protagonist I would like to read more of in the future.

This was really good

A previous reviewer said shove your personal politics to the side before reading this book. It's not that bad, but still probably a good idea, Once you've done that, you are in for a thrill. To me this book is the definition of a thriller. I'd rate it 4.5 stars if I could.

Can uptionthe governor be taken down.

Nat Cinder finds out the Governor is behind murder and corrupt. Will he and his son be able to expose her without getting themselves or their loved ones killed. Nat is an alcoholic and is hunted so he hides in a government proof bunker. Will he be able to cry out and do what it takes to take out the Governor? A good page turner.

TREAD” by Clayton Lindemuth, a modern political thriller takes place recently, mostly in the Arizona desert. It involved a hottie Arizona senator who came up with a new way to sleep her way to the top, by sleeping with all the important women in government. And of course, in order to blackmail them later, she caught her hot lesbian action in photographs. And surprisingly enough, those photographs were sought after by her own assistants, the FBI, the dumbest members of the Philadelphia mafia, a hastily pardoned, serial murdering, born-again Christian, death row inmate, and a wanted for murder, right-wing secessionist alcoholic, and his liberal-minded, high-school footballer son. A taut, page-turning adventure from beginning to end, how does he even come up with this stuff?!? This one I did listen to on audible, mostly while reading along on Kindle. There was one chapter on the Kindle that was not on the Audible, so be sure not to miss that. As a side note, I was super impressed by the vocal abilities of the actor that narrated the book, Justin some thing or other. He did a great job having a different voice and accent for each of the characters making this compelling read an enjoyable listen as well.

A little something to spark the imagination

Great characters, excellent backstory and plenty of action. The torments of man are shown front and center here. The daily struggles of a haunted man lead him right back to where his personal hell began. A ruthless politician, doing dirty deeds leads him towards the past and explodes.

Life politics

We just had a snowstorm that closed 7 counties. I spent the night watching it snow and being transfixed by your story and the characters. What a wonderful ability to be able to write so the reader feels like they are watching from a distance.
Thank you

I Can't Put Clayton's books down!!

I love the way Clayton writes! This one was a bit confusing to start but he always pulls me in and I have to practically wear a neck brace from the whips and turns of his stories! 💘

More, please!

The only issue I keep having when tearing through Clayton’s books is that the ending is always dissatisfying.
I want the story to come to a complete ending.
Can’t wait to read more...!

Nic, A bad....

Ok, it started out slow and then gained more and then skyrocketed off. Was a little surprised that the convict didn’t have a larger role. Let’s see how the next one goes. Recommend this for good reading.

Tread, by Clayton Lindemuth, shows an early view of Nathan Cinder who is a character in one or two Baer Creighton novels. Interesting back story. Strong political views. There were some format issues with the Kindle book I read. I highlighted those places in case Clayton wants to update.
