FROM EXCITING AUTHOR OF HISTORICAL WERESHIFTER ROMANCE K.E. TURNER

Book four in the Langeais Wolves series

Unlocking his humanity could shatter her heart.

For witch Constance Voyante, her second sight is more a curse than a gift. Alone and outcast, she survives by trading her healing skills, clinging to a vision of a life as the mate of Langeais’ Black Wolf. Until she discovers the Black Wolf has found his mate. And it’s not her.

When a wild and damaged werewolf appears at the d’Louncrais keep with knowledge of the pack’s traitor locked inside his tortured mind, it’s Constance the Langeais wolves turn to. If anyone can help him, it’s her. No one knows their lore better than she does. Resigned to her solitary life, Constance is unprepared for what awaits her. Another black wolf.

Struck down on a battlefield by one of their own, D’Artagnon d’Louncrais shifted into wolf form and fled, leaving behind his pack and his brother. Presumed dead, he’s returned to take his vengeance, but he has no plans to return to his human form. Not for his brother. Not even for the witch who makes him yearn for something he’s long forsaken. A mate.

Constance is the key to unlocking D’Artagnon’s humanity. D’Artagnon is determined to remain a wolf. Helping him shift could destroy everything Constance has always dreamed of.

K.E Turner can't remember a time when she wasn't writing stories or reading books—as a teenager in class instead of doing math, in her lunch break at work, or at home when there's housework to be done. With a love of history, mystery, suspense, paranormal, and romance, she likes combining more than one element in her stories.

An award winning author, she writes spicy paranormal romances and romantic suspense, with strong but good hearted heroes, smart, sassy heroines and an often unexpected villain or two, to shake things up.

Based in a small village by the beach on the east coast of Australia, she lives with her husband and two dogs. A hopeless romantic, she enjoys sunsets over the water, walks on the beach, candlelit dinners and a nice shiraz.

Passion and vengeance: the Witch and the Werewolf ❤️🐺✨
🔥 Paranormal romance fans, Wolf’s Return is a MUST-READ! 🔮 Magic, mystery & deep emotion combine in this unforgettable tale - you won’t be able to put it down! 💥

***
Wolf’s Return tells the story of Constance, a witch with the gift of second sight, and D’Artagnon, a werewolf knight who has lived as a wolf for nine years. Their reluctant meeting leads to a slow-building bond as they confront their pasts, trust issues, and shared loneliness, discovering a powerful connection that could change both their lives.
***
Constance Voyante is a healer and witch with the gift of second sight. As a child, she foresaw herself becoming the mate of Langeais’ Black Wolf... until she learned he already had a mate, which shook her faith in her visions, at least regarding her own future. D’Artagnon d’Louncrais, son of Elise and Jacques and younger brother of Gaharet, was presumed dead after being struck down on the battlefield by one of his own pack. He abandoned his humanity and remained in wolf form for nine years.

The two meet when Constance answers a summons from Gaharet. Upon entering his keep, she encounters another Black Wolf and wonders if he could be the one from her vision. Gaharet asks for her help in persuading D’Artagnon to shift back into his human form. Constance does her best, knowing success could free her from her lonely life and allow her to settle in the d’Louncrais village. D’Artagnon, however, has no wish to return to being human, and he views her with suspicion and mistrust, keeping so close to her that he becomes almost her shadow.

At first glance, Constance and D’Artagnon might seem like opposites, yet beneath the surface they share a number of deeper traits and experiences. Both live in self-imposed exile. Constance has retreated to a small cottage deep in the forest, seeking solitude for her own protection. Her heterochromia (eyes of different colours) has made her an object of fear and superstition, and the prejudice of others has driven her away from society. D’Artagnon, in turn, has abandoned his human form entirely, cutting himself off from society, his family, and his pack. They also share a strong sense of duty to others. Constance uses her healing skills to serve her community, fully aware that those she helps would turn on her in an instant. D’Artagnon’s return is driven by the need to avenge his parents’ deaths, to kill the one responsible. His first plan is to enlist his brother Gaharet’s help, but when he learns that Gaharet’s wife is expecting a child, he makes a different choice. Fearing that Gaharet could be killed in the attempt and leave behind a widow and an unborn pup, D’Artagnon keeps the killer’s identity to himself.
Both have endured hardships without breaking, their ordeals leaving lasting marks and causing them to build unyielding emotional walls.

In Book 4, the main plot continues. While we learn the identity of the traitor among the Langeais wolves, he has yet to pay for his treason, as well as for the deaths of Elise and Jacques d’Louncrais, and the attempted murder of Gaharet.
With the traitor on the loose, and both new and old enemies determined to see the Langeais wolves wiped out, there’s no doubt the next instalments will bring plenty of action and unexpected twists.

Although this book: the love story of Constance and D’Artagnon can be read as a standalone, it is part of a much larger picture. It’s as though each book in this series, as well as the new series about the Langeais wolves set in modern times, is a perfect and complete puzzle in itself but all these complete puzzles fit together to form an even greater one. I’m not sure how to explain it better.

This book provides information on how the werewolves came into being, and offers answers and background on people and events that appear or are mentioned in other books about the Langeais wolves. Because of this, there are spoilers here, so if you plan to explore the world of the Langeais wolves, I’d recommend starting with Book 1 (or even with the prequel story Wolf’s Mate, available for free to subscribers to the author’s newsletter).

I have said this before in my other reviews of this author’s books, but it bears repeating: I love this author’s writing style: emotional, vivid, and full of depth. Her ability to create drama, weave in twists and turns, and then tie it all together so wonderfully is truly impressive.

ARC provided by the author – and I’m so glad I got the chance to read it early! All opinions are my own.

After years on the run, D'Artagnon finally returns home to get his revenge on the person who killed his parents and almost succeed on killing him too.
What he doesn't expect is to find the only person that is capable of making him yearn his former life, back when he was human, his mate.

//

In insight, the main romance was a bit disappointing with all the hype that was created in the previous book, it felt as if Constance was a totally different character from what was presented when we first know about her as a "secondary" character to the main plot that's ongoing in the series.
I personally envisioned her as a fiercely independent, and very powerful woman, in control of her powers as a witch, the kind of character the others would depend on.. But this side of her was totally absent? I didn't mind what transpired from this book, I would have loved if we'd get to know her more in-dept but maintaining what was prev showed to us, both sides of her if you will.

Artie 🙏 I'm gonna hold your hand bc if I'd was to let go I'd slap him on his face.
The total clusterfuck and headaches you could have spared your brother!!!
omg he wins the 1st place as a drama queen bc what the actual fuck he knew all along who was the cause of their misfortune and he stayed silent for what??? spare his brother the revenge? I'm sorry but that was a bit lame AND ALSO!! the first night he spend with Constance he shift back to human LOL I'm not gonna comment on that.

That granma witch popping here and there? I'm sorry but I lost count on her, we'll certainly see her in the upcoming books I'm sur of it.

Safe to say I was so more invested in the main plot that was going on instead of the romance between the main characters, I'm sorry but that was entertaining af

LOTHAIR!!! I knew he wasn't totally bad 😏 now I wanna know more about his missus 👀 this thing she has going on with Faucher

ALSO!! I'm so waiting on the next book 😭😭😭😭😭 my mind is doing cartwheels thinking about Aubert, Edmond and that mysterious woman

Wolf’s Return Book 4 is quite the medieval story.

Missing family, evil in the church and trying to protect the mates.

The love story or rather love stories between the pack and mates is quite interesting.

I really enjoyed the book and now wish I had read previous books. You don’t need to read previous books to really enjoy this one.

*I received this ARC Kindle book from BookSirens. Thank You!

“Wolf’s Return,” the newest title in K.E. Turner’s Wolves of Langeais series continues to build on the 10th century community of werewolves that she has built. Two of the first two books involved time travel from present day back to the past. For “Wolf’s Return,” we are back to two characters who both are products of the 10th century. Both have secrets. One, obviously, is a werewolf. The other is a witch.

Constance, our witch, has always lived on the outside of society, alone in the forest. Those is the nearby community are quick to avail themselves of her talents with healing. But when it comes to her visions, they let fear rule their actions.

When she is summoned to Langeais because her family has knowledge of the werewolf pack, Contance encounters the Black Wolf of which she has dreamed.

I continue to enjoy Turner’s writing and world-building in this series. She grabs my interest from the first page and keeps going.

Although they are a series with a larger mystery running through each book, the titles are complete and can be read separately. I’ve started with Book 2, “Wolf’s Prize,” then read this one, which is Book 4. I’ve also read Turner’s “The Wolf and His Witch,” Book 1 of The Descendants series which brings the Wolves on Langeais to present-day northern California.

Those who enjoy wolves and witches in their paranormal titles will want “Wolf’s Return” in their TBR pile!

Just when I thought this series couldn’t get any better ….. Wow. Just. Wow.

Wolf’s Return is both a sweet romance and a roller coaster ride of intrigue and backstabbing. Constance is a witch whose ancestors originally helped the wolves of Langeais by creating the magical amulet that protects them in times of need. D’Artagnon is the brother of the alpha, long thought dead after being struck down years ago in battle by a traitorous member of their own pack. He has been in his wolf form ever since the attack and is set on vengeance. Gaharet, the alpha, has tasked Constance with helping his brother regain human form and reveal the name of the traitor. But D’Artagnon has a mind of his own and vows to thwart her.

I loved Constance and D’Artagnon’s love story. They are now my favorite couple of the pack, displacing Aimon and Katherine, which I had not thought possible. Their HEA is threatened on so many levels as new enemies are revealed to be behind the events that have beset the pack over the last decades.

I was blown away by the tight plotting as K.E. Turner deftly weaves together stories old and new to create a tapestry between this 10th century series and the new current time series, The Descendants. Time travel has a way of blurring lines like that. Enemies old and new are shown to have been stirring the pot for years, if not centuries. I was enthralled as the history of the pack was revealed through the ancient grimoire Constance guards with her life. Wow what a ride!

I can’t recommend this highly enough. This book needs 6 stars or more!! I absolutely cannot wait to see where the author takes this as the plot lines have just exploded in this book!! I am waiting on tenterhooks for more!!

I read an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book 4 of The Wolves of Langeias

Usually by the 3rd or 4th book of a series, things are getting stale and repetitive- NOT true of K.E.Turner’s Wolf’s Keep. This book was such a fun read. The plot twists keep coming and the characters are revealing themselves to be much more than their first impression led us to believe. Can’t wait for the next book!!

Constance is alone in the world. A healer with heterochromia (along with visions and magic) is quick to be labeled a witch and blamed for anything bad that happens. The 10th century is not exactly enlightened!! She has been run out of village after village and now lives alone in a hut in the woods. She is the last of her coven and keeper of grimoire with the history of werewolves. The pack alpha sent for her to come stay in the Keep to assist with a wolf that can’t shift back to human.

D’Artagnon has been dead for 9 years, at least that’s what his brother and pack has believed. When he reappears with gruesome scars and does not shift to human, his brother orders the pretty “little witch” to fix him. Little does she know that D’Artagnon can shift but has no wish to reclaim his humanity. He needs to keep an eye on this witch so he has been sleeping at the door of her bed. Little does she know that he has been secretly, accidentally shifting each night when curled up next to her. (One bed trope!) His only goal is to find and kill the traitorous wolf who grievously injure him and killed his parents, even if it means abandoning his mate.

Growly werewolfs, time travel, witches, one-bed, historic romance, romance with plot

D’Artagnon has remained a wolf for the last 10 years. Since his parents were killed. And being attacked by a traitor. His family has trusted for years. He hadn’t been home either. He wanted to protect his brother. And get vengeance for the tragedies the traitor has inflicted on his family. But he does go home and realizes many things have happened to his pack. While he has been away.
Constance has 2 different colored eyes and is a witch with second sight. She has lived outside of villages her whole life. Since the slightest thing will have villagers blaming her for everything and anything. Their fear ends up getting her cast out of villages repeatedly. When the Seigneur Gaharet from the Langeasis wolves, summons her for help. She hopes she will be able to stay in the village. Since the villagers here are nothing but welcoming. But will she also find her happiness with a black wolf?
Loved this book!! My favorite of this series, so far! Love how D’Artagnon can’t seem to control himself around Constance. Even shipping back to his human form while they sleep. I also love how Constance remembers her vision, from when she was a child. But tries not to hope too much that D’Artagnon is the black wolf in her vision. But the storyline overall is absolutely wonderfully intriguing! How all the little mysteries start to come together. You can read this as a standalone. But I wouldn’t. It will make the little things make more sense. I can’t wait for the next one. I hope it’s about the twins!!

This is a fabulous paranormal romance series! This story focuses on D’Artagnon d’Louncrais and Constance, a witch who possessed the gift of second sight. The journey that these two troubled souls had to battle through just to find eachother was practically heroic, but the difficulties didn't stop there. Murder, violence, disloyalty, treason, prejudice, and betrayal all littered their path. Blessings were present, though they seemed few and far between in comparison to the hardships. D’Artagnon was determined to keep a vow he made to his father... or that could have significant costs to him. Constance was struggling to balance expectation, hope, and longing.

This story ran the gambit of emotions, from fury to sadness to joy and contentment, they were all present and profound given the relateability of the character's emotional states. I had previously read The Wolf and His Witch (also by Turner) which had slightly overlapped this tale and provided more background on the witch Cordelia. I think it flowed perfectly into this book's storyline even though it's a separate (but related) series. I encourage you to read this series, though I highly recommend reading it in order for the best experience even though they are all standalone and complete within themselves regarding the romance plot.

I graciously accepted a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

Happiness found by MeemsAngel82

This was a emotional book that is a full read and a historical tale filled with shifters and a mystery. There is sadness and loneliness then happiness as two people who find themselves closed off from the world find themselves drawn to one another. There is a reason for their closeness.

She had been alone and lonely. She'd had her mother for awhile and fear chasing them away from forming any kind of connection. Now with this family, with this wolf. Just maybe…

My heart broke for her. She had had such a sad existence. Not everyone forms lasting connections even though they are the very best of people. She tried her best and moved on when she couldn't stay on anymore at a place. Her mismatched eyes worried some and the fear of being outcasted completely was something scary. Her visions aided her helping others, but never herself. Then a mysterious man who will not shift back needs her as does his family. And things got even more interesting and I was so relieved at their connection. She finally had someone in her corner, someone just for her. Their interactions and the suspense surrounding them was great. It's a slow burn romance and their being actually happy, together and free of their demons took some time but it was worth it for these two to find their happiness. Constance had decided that the vision she'd had of herself with a black wolf must be wishful thinking when Gaharet had shown up at her cottage with Erin. Then she was called to the d'Louncrais keep and discovered there was another black wolf. D’Artagnon d’Louncrais had been thought long dead when he suddenly showed up at the keep. He would not shift to human form and Gaharet had sent for Constance as she was both a healer and a witch. Her family had long known the d'Louncrais secret and the family grimoire was full of information about the wolf shifters. If anyone could figure out how to help D’Artagnon shift to human form it would be Constance.

D'Artagnon had his reasons for remain in wolf form. The traitor has killed his parents and almost killed him and he was not going to tell his brother who it was. The man's death belonged to D'Artagnon and he would not risk Gaharet's life. He thought he had it all figured out until the pretty witch showed up. She was going to be a problem. For some reason, his wolf insisted that they not let her out of their sight. He was only sticking close to her in order to keep an eye on her witchy ways. No other reason.

So, we will finally learn who the traitor is. Unfortunately, he is not the only enemy the d'Louncrais family has to worry about. Stay tuned. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

I was looking forward to reading Wolf's Return, D'Artagnon and Constance's story, so much. Their love story is romantic, moving and full of pain and suffering. D'Artagnon chose to live in exile for nine long years, after almost being killed in battle by the man who murdered his parents. He feels shame for the scars covering his body, and for believing he had failed Gaharet, his brother and the pack's alpha, so he remains in his wolf form. Constance is a witch and a healer. The villagers have always feared her because of her second sight and her different eye colors. As a result, she too was forced to live in exile, in a hut deep in the forest.
The world-building is breathtaking. We learn more about the origins of the werewolves and their connection to the witches. The plot becomes more complex and intricate. There is a lot of action and suspense, and we finally find out who the traitor is. The story gripped me from the beginning and it was wonderful to meet again all the beloved characters from the previous books. I can't wait to see where the story will take us, the readers, and how the mysteries will be resolved.

Wolf’s Return by K.E. Turner

Publish date 16 Sep 25

This is the fourth book in the series The Wolves of Langeais.

(My opinion in this book is merely on the fourth book because I didn’t read the prior ones)

The concept of the book is good in the aspect of French words and how we have the pov of both the protagonist.

The book is about of how a witch Constance is called to attend the brother of the alpha pack D’Artagnon a wolf that won’t return to human form because of his trauma that made him exiled himself for 9 years in the wild but for unknown reason his back.

Missing family, wolf x witch, evil church, vengase, protector x sunshine everyone’s favorite trope is in this book.🐺🧙‍♀️

In my opinion the ending was a bit rushed because I wanted to see the vengase D’Artagnon he was so eager to complete. But I liked the book and I now will totally read the prior books to know about the story of each couple mates.

Love this author
Have read all the books from this author and love them. They are a lovely way to enter another world where courageous women exist and are brave enough to love despite the differences in time with some, or as in this case, two sad and wounded people hurt who find a way to enrich their lives and survive by choosing each other.
The characters are all well defined, the plot in each book well planned and a great pace so that reading what comes next never feels like you have to catch up. You find your reader rhythm with ease.
It is a strong family unit whether as wolves or as men in this century or in the past. The author weaves it all together and has the reader accepting, or rather suspending their belief. Everything falls into place. And yet it always feels different. Love the growing witch element, love the healing romance between two wounded people, and can only add, bring on the next book.

This is the 4th book in the Wolves of Langeais series by K.E. Turner’s continues to build on the 10th century community of werewolves that she has built. This isD’Artagnon d’Louncrais (werewolf / unshifted for 10years) and Constance Voyante (witch/fated mate/her second sight is more a curse than a gift!) story. She has always lived alone in the forest as the people nearby love to avail themselves of her talents with healing, but when she has her visions, they are afraid of her power. She is summoned to Langeais because of her family's knowledge of the werewolf pack, this is where she encounters the Black Wolf, the same one she has dreamed of! Will these two be able to trust each other as they both have secrets! Their story begins here.

What can I possibly write about this book that hasn't already been said in the other reviews for The Wolves of Langeais series...not much. K.E. Turner is a wonderfully gifted writer and storyteller and this time she has given us D'Artagnon's and Constance's story. Wolf's Return will keep the reader entertained from page one all the way through to the last page. It has the emotions that we have come to love and enjoy from this author in addition to an even greater amount of angst. To top that off, with the tie-ins to Ms. Turner's Descendants series, she manages to throw in shocking twists which ensure the reader will be thinking not only about this book but also anxiously awaiting her next.
It is so fun and I loved it! I absolutely recommend this book!

D'Artagnan and Constance's story was as wonderful as I hoped it would be. D'Artagnan returns from the dead in the wolf form he's been in for nine years and only Constance stands a chance of getting him to transition into a human again.
Constance is lonely and doubts her self-worth, living deep within the forest in her tumbledown cottage, shunned by the very people she helps and only D'Artagnan can convince her she is strong and capable. They are perfect for each other; true soul mates.
In the wider arc of the series we find out who the traitor is and there are more tie-ins from the future, hinting at the stories to come and giving readers plenty to look forward to.
I honestly await each book with baited breath because I'm never disappointed.

Wolf’s Return is the 4 th book in the series of Wolf’s of Langeais. What a shock for Constance when she thought her visions of her self and a Black Wolf had disappeared when Gaharet brought Erin to her cottage. Then many moons later she receives a request to come to the Keep and discovers another black wolf. Gaharet’s brother they all thought had died nine years ago has returned. Will not give the story away but the more books you read in this series the more you cannot wait for the next book. Especially now The Descendants series has started and with the intriguing connections.

(4.5 stars) Loved this one! The connection between the previous ones in this series and the first book in her other series The Descendants, is really intriguing! And some of the revelations at the end… 😱 Do I not hate the man I thought I hated?!

I loved Constance’s patience and D’Artagnon’s protectiveness. They both deserve far more credit than they give themselves, which makes them very relatable characters. One of my favorite couples!

D’Artagnon d’Louncrais, a black wolf, stays in wolf form, and is back for revenge. The pack traitor killed his parents and nearly killed him as well.
Constance Voyante, a healer / witch, one blue eye, one green, has the gift of second sight, her father sold her to a witch hunter. She is strong, giving, and waits for her love to save her.

This is one of the best books I’ve read all year. It will immediately grab you and you won’t want to put it down. I loved Constance and how caring she is. D’Artagnon is so broken it’s amazing to see how he works through his healing. The suspense, surprises, twists, danger, will have you feeling for the characters and turning pages through to the end, though it’s only the end for now, I know more is coming, and I can’t wait.

I loved the way this story went. D'Artagnon's return from death. It has been quite a while. Constance had always believed she would Mate the black wolf. A lot happened. It got very scary there for a while. Now there is another woman in the prison with Constance. They don't know who she is but she is very sick, on deaths door. The twins decide to turn her. Very good story.

This book has a wonderful plot and set of characters that carries over from previous books in the series. I think one of the main reasons the series has staying power is that the females are as strong, if not stronger, than their mates. Old Anne is a hoot too!

lonely
Constance's loneliness must be hard to bear, giving up on ever finding love, how do you keep going? D’Artagnon's situation isn't any better, the only purpose left in life being revenge. As a stickler for HEAs I really hoped for both of them, that things might change for a brighter perspective in life.

This started out strong with an intriguing premise, but I lost interest.

It's hard to build a relationship between your MCs when one of them spends the first half the book in his shifted wolf form.

This book may be for you if you enjoy Medieval wolf shifters with a French twist.

Thank you KE Turner for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
