I ran from this town seven years ago.
I didn't think I'd ever return, but my father's death is the one thing that could bring me back.
He ran me out of this town, his town, so I wouldn't ruin his plans.
The Sovereign Sons Motorcycle Club rules over everything in Silver Springs, North Carolina, and now my ex-boyfriend is the club's new president. I didn't leave town of my own free will, but that doesn't matter to Grayson Williams. He hates me for leaving our town, for leaving him, for changing our plans. What will he think when he learns the secrets I've been keeping?

I see her familiar blue eyes through the crowd of mourners and know that I'm fucked.
Sophie Parker has returned home. She's returned to me.
The last seven years have been monotonous. One day bleeding into the next. When she left town, it was like all the color was stripped from my life. But she didn't come home alone, and now I'm questioning everything about our time together, and the club that I've loved my entire life.
The only thing I'm sure of, is that she's not leaving again.

I swore I wouldn't read another biker book but this was in my The shelf and it sucked too. Hero got a BJ on page in book after the heroine came back. He wasn't celibate while she was gone. He thought she left him. She was forced. She had his child and hasn't been with anyone else. Secret baby, club whores and why do.I do this to myself. Glad its out of the way.

About 6 years ago, Sophie was dating Grayson, her high school sweetheart. She had a shitty father, who was the president of an MC, and she spent most of her time at other people's houses. Her dad made her leave home after he found out she was pregnant, but Sophie never told Grayson she was pregnant or why she left.

She comes back to town for a couple of days, just to go to her dad's funeral and visit his lawyer to see about his estate. Grayson is now the president of the MC. He sees her and her son (Asher) at the funeral, but just assumes she had a baby with someone else.

When she went to the funeral, she decided to "no call no show" at her job, then she's shocked when she gets fired. She goes to the local diner where she knows the owner, and gets a job there. So she's staying in town now.

At first, when Sophie and Grayson are in the same place, they don't acknowledge each other.

One day, Sophie's working at the diner, and an MC member she knew from before comes in and attacks her because he thinks she's a bitch for leaving town, basically. Grayson confronts him, and the guy says Grayson is so dumb, he doesn't even realize Sophie had Grayson's kid. Grayson finally realizes Asher looks just like him, except for Sophie's eye color.

So now he has her living in the MC clubhouse and it becomes a "my woman, my kid, you're mine" kind of thing.

It was ok, but the fact that he couldn't see that the kid looks like him was a big plot point and didn't make much sense. Once the one guy comments on it, everyone else in the MC admits they all noticed it, too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. 5
I absolutely loved this book! It was my first time reading anything by Paige Ammann, and it definitely won’t be my last.

The writing was smooth, easy to follow, and perfectly paced. I was immediately drawn into Sophie and Grayson’s story — their chemistry after all those years apart was still electric. You can really feel that they’re soulmates, tragically separated by the vindictive actions of her so-called father (what a terrible man!).

The supporting characters — friends and family — added so much depth to the story. I especially loved the dynamic between them all, and now I cannot wait for Rowan’s story!

Yes, the plot was a bit simplistic at times, and there were definitely a few cheesy moments, but honestly, I was here for it. The emotional highs and lows, the tearful scenes, the heartfelt reconnections — all of it worked for me.

A beautiful, emotional second-chance romance. Loved it. 😀

It was good, but...

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a decent story. I loved Grayson, and Sophia was a pretty good FMC... but it was too wordy? I can't explain it... too much attention to the details of a room. There was too much description, and then the drama just kinda fell flat. This is a motorcycle club... they handle their own business... to have the police called a few times throughout the book was just too unrealistic. Especially because they "took care" of a couple of people. So why get the police involved at all, if they can do that? So, they were supposed to morally gray, but not? Yeah, the drama definitely fell flat! The story had premise... I was excited thinking I found another MC author, especially because the trigger warning had me thinking this was gonna be meaty, but it just fizzled. I'll try one more book and hope for better.

really great book!!

I found this as one of the many random books that just popped up on my list. It is an amazing story. The storyline is compelling enough to keep you reading. It’s got just enough action, and a little bit of spice. I’m actually looking forward to the second book in the series..

This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. It had a great storyline. Enough action to keep you hooked and some good spicy scenes. Loved our main characters, Grayson and Sophie. Side characters were great.
so glad this author popped up on my feed! Can't wait to dive into Rowan's book.

wow

What a book. Drama, and club craziness. Grayson and Sophia were always supposed to end right where they did. If evil dad had stayed out of it. Great book.
