Bladed

Rate this book
For a moment, Juliette Stanton had it all. She won the biggest match of her career, and she was surviving the pushback from her relationship with her mentor, wrestling legend Weston Hext. Then, everything came crashing down when Weston got injured during a match. .

Wrestling is everything to Weston. Without it, he’s just a shell of the person he was. Now he’s sidelined, perhaps permanently, drowning in bitterness and pain, watching Juliette struggle to hold them both together.

Kaito Rees has always been second best. Living in the shadow of his father does that to a guy. He’s also been Juliette’s best friend, her safe place, the one who, while he always wanted more, would never ask.

Until Weston does. Until he tells her to find comfort in someone who can still give, until a line that was already blurred vanishes completely.

A temporary arrangement blooms into a storm of guilt, desire, and feelings that none of them saw coming. Something that could either shatter all three of them or be the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

They’ve all bladed for the crowd, now they’re bleeding for love.

Bladed is an MMF, angsty, professional wrestling romance between three messy people who are trying their best.

Redeemable couple

This started with one of my no go thropes so I didn't think I wasn't going to like it but I did. It might help that i didn't read the book that started it so I wasn't attached to the cheating. (You don't need to read the first book as this one has its owe storyline). In the end I really enjoyed the characters and found myself smiling after the heartbreak.

This was an ARC given to me by the author Indigo Queen! [SOME SPOILERS]
4 stars on goodreads & storygraph!

Honestly I really enjoyed it, let me tell you this was SUPER tragic as it was already in the last book but holy crap I loved these three characters a lot. It was a little complicated with the plot structure and the third act break-up really got me in the feels however, I really like Kai as the newest addition to the polycule and I am so happy that they got their happily ever after! So sad that Weston had to retire from what he loves.

This amazing heartfelt tragic professional wrestling dark romance story will seriously get you in the feels! Please read the trigger/content warnings that are displayed in the description!

Indigo Queen. A queen you are.

This book exceeded my expectations. I was destroyed after Getting Color. That cliffhanger had me screaming. This follow up duet was no different. Wrestling romance has become my new favorite obsession.

Indigo Queen takes us on a journey of heartache, trust building, bi awakening, and life altering situations. This book is not for the lighthearted. I fell in love, became obsessed, cried, and learned that sometimes you have to let go to find yourself. Hext, Jules, and Kai are a hurricane and I am not evacuating for it. Their love was tangible on the pages and I found myself wrapped up thoroughly enraptured by the words I was reading. Absolutely amazing book.

On a personal note, a while ago I had a life altering medical emergency and my husband had to become my caretaker. Reading about Jules and Wes post neck injury really stirred up some memories and emotions. I related to their situation probably too much. But that’s what makes a great book right? When you can reach your readers on a personal level? Anyways, this is a great book, highly recommend.

I feel so meh after investing two books with these characters.

Hex started out as such a good character minus the not filing for divorce as soon as he realized his feelings for Jules up until this book that was his biggest flaw. Here the one thing I hate most about not disclosing bisexuality to a partner who has been through hell with you? And moving in your old fuck buddy? I guess fucking your mistresss in your wife house was already an indicator how he cares about people. Jules calls him out in that but it was all mediocre at that point.

Thing ended how they should of I guess with them happily in their mmf but it just all felt anticlimactic after the break up even Soren was looking like a better option lol

Kai is an Angel baby pookie who deserved a better upfront conversation than a measly foot rub?

Soren and Royce will probably end up partners with rehab baby mama if these books have anything to go

The Clara Micah Nathan trio is also another one.

How the fuck did Theo end up being the best partner of the series color be fucking surprised lol.

This book is a beautifully intense continuation of Getting Color. Juliette is rising to the top of her wrestling career just as her boyfriend Hext suffers a devastating neck injury. As his world shatters, Jules becomes his caretaker, trying to hold everything together while her own life spins out of control. Then there’s Kai. Steady, gentle, and full of quiet devotion. He steps in when everything feels like too much, taking care of both Jules and Hext in ways that feel holy. The way they call him Angel broke me. The yearning in Kai’s every glance, the way love slowly blooms between all three of them, is breathtaking. This isn’t just a love story. It’s a story about survival, transformation, and the ache of wanting. Watching Hext find peace in his new body, watching Jules struggle to choose herself while falling for someone new, and watching Kai hold them both with such grace, it’s unforgettable.Romantic, painful, healing. I couldn’t put it down.

Bladed by Indigo Queen is the blistering, heart-wrenching finale to the Crimson Mask Duet, and it does not pull its punches. Picking up right where Getting Color left off, we’re thrown straight into the aftermath of Hext’s devastating injury and the emotional wreckage that follows.

Juliette is a powerhouse of loyalty and love, juggling her wrestling career while fiercely caring for Hext. Their bond is raw and tender, but what sets this book apart is how it navigates the messy, beautiful terrain of unconventional love. The polyamory here isn’t just thrown in for spice it’s deeply expressed, emotionally complex, and so well written. Hext, broken but selfless, urges Juliette to seek comfort elsewhere. Enter Kai: her best friend, her quiet anchor, and the man who’s been in love with her for years.

What unfolds is a slow-burning, tension-filled triad that’s equal parts sensual and soul-searching. Kai and Hext’s dynamic is electric and there’s a subtle bi-awakening that’s handled with grace and nuance. Reading about them as they navigate their feelings is just as compelling as the steamy scenes they share with Juliette. These three have absolutely become one of my all time favorite MMF trios.

This duet is set against the gritty backdrop of the pro wrestling world and is a story of healing, desire, and choosing love in all its forms. Indigo Queen delivers a finale that’s emotionally brutal, achingly tender, and ultimately triumphant. The HEA? So earned. So satisfying.

If you want spice with substance, angst with authenticity, and characters who fight for each other as hard as they fight in the ring, then this is the book for you!

A huge thank you to Indigo Queen for the opportunity to receive an early copy! A top 5 star duet for me this year!

miss indigo, i am sitting here on my kitchen floor just shaking my head in awe. this is polished perfection. this is every bit of growth i hoped for with these characters. the way that hext (yes, even with his tantrums) developed over the course of this book…wonderful. he shows us how sitting at rock bottom and looking up can feel so daunting but so…worth it.

KAI. do i even have words for kai? mr. “you can’t be sad while you’re upside down”
jules. even all of the side characters. everyone. every part of this was exactly what this storyline needed. and so unbelievably hot, may i add. 😳🧯

i am so beyond grateful that i got to read this as an ARC. i ate this UP. i am obsessed. thank you for writing it. i need more

A lovely book about a couple dealing with injury rehab, while house training their new puppy...

In all seriousness, where to start? I suppose I'll start with Kaito... his arc from best friend to toy to broken to intergal part of the found family is genuinely heart warming, I thought that Jules was my forever favourite character in this series, but Kaito may have displaced her! The dynamics between the characters feel well-balanced and natural. Hext drove me mad at times, but that was the point, with his hurting/healing journey. And Jules... Jules was her badass self, but now with more vulnerability, which just made her even more likable.

Would absolutely recommend to any wrestling fan, any romance fan, and any why chose fan!

Okay I’ve never done a why choose or a MMF before. I loved the age gap in the characters. The emotional rollercoaster the characters did. I’ve never read a wrestling book before and didn’t know I could love it so much. The writing style reminds me of Rina Kent which I love! I’m definitely going to be reading more books like this.

This is a continuation of the story told in getting color. Reading getting colored is necessary to understand bladed. I enjoyed getting to see wrestling in a romance, but I was not really in love with any of the characters. Due to Hext injury, so much of this book is about Hext not wanting to be a burden and Jules not feeling her feeling that I really hated both of them for Kai.

Indigo has become one of my favorite authors. This is the second ARC of hers that I’ve been able to read and I’m so glad! I was on the edge of my seat with Getting Color and what happened with West and Jules, and Bladed picks up and finishes the story in the most perfect way. Did I know I needed a throuple in my life? No, but I’m glad she gave it to us. I can’t wait for her next book!

This is an ARC review. I get no compensation for this review. This is my honest opinion.

4/5⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶

WOW... this was so good out the gate. Ms. Indigo's writing keeps you engaged and wanting more through the whole journey. The jump between the POV's of the 3 characters was seamless.

I love Kai's character. I want to build a whole wall of protection around him and his heart.

The spice was spicing through the story, and it flowed wonderfully with the plot.

If you like mmf, age gap, sports romance, family drama, grumpy-sunshine-labrador dynamic, best friends to lovers, with some steamy angst.... then you NEED to add Bladed to your TBR! It's worth the read ❤️
