Marina Andis delivers a fresh, captivating story in Unghosted that hooked me from the very first page. The premise is unique, blending heartfelt emotion with sharp, witty writing that makes the characters feel alive. The pacing is perfectly balanced—enough twists to keep me invested while still giving space for the emotional depth to shine.
What really stands out is the way Andis handles relationships—messy, real, and unforgettable. The tension builds naturally, and I found myself rooting for the characters through every high and low. It’s equal parts heartbreaking and healing, the kind of book that lingers with you long after you’ve finished.
If you love romance with emotional depth, complex characters, and a storyline that refuses to be predictable, Unghosted is a must-read. Marina Andis has definitely earned a permanent spot on my book shelf
Unghosted is such a fun read! The story follows a teen with a rough home life who gets shipped off to Prague to reconnect with her sister… only for everything to go completely off the rails. Luckily, she makes some new friends along the way (one of them happens to be a ghost), and the adventure that unfolds is full of drama, family ties, redemption, and a lot of attitude.
The author’s descriptions are amazing and really set the scene—I felt pulled right into the story. Sure, there are a few spots that could be finessed, but for a debut this is so well done. I was entertained the whole time and couldn’t put it down.
If you enjoy YA with a supernatural twist, this is a great pick—for yourself or the teen/tween reader in your life!
This book is out of my comfort zone, but it really did hit me at times and made me think of the loved ones that I had lost. I didn’t even get through the first 2 pages before I had to stop for a moment because I resonated with the main character and how she felt. I will say I didn’t go to the extreme that she did due to grief but I know it still hits me at random. This story seemed to really made me want to keep coming back to read it due to the fact I wanted to know if the main character and her sister made amends or not. I will say that I enjoyed this but also it seemed to in a way helped me in ways I still don’t quite understand.
I received a copy of this book due to a giveaway from the author for free. I am writing this review voluntarily.
I won this book back in August, and as much as I wanted to devour this book, kids make it hard to sit down and read physical books.😅 I very much enjoyed this book, Andris was able to write a book that actually read like I was in the mind of a 17 year old girl! It is a shorter chapter book, and flowed so smoothly that when I did get time to sit down and read I was knocking out large chunks of the book!
Trigger Warnings: There is mention of death of loved ones, suicide attempts, childhood trauma, some underage drinking/ drug use, and profanity.
I really enjoyed the book, from the start all the way through. If you have sisters you'll understand Olivia. Shes sarcastic and mildly obnoxious, but she does care for the people in her life in her own way.
Unghosted is quirky, funny, and full of heart. Ghostly chaos, misfit vibes, and teen drama all wrapped up in a light, fast-paced read. A few pacing bumps, but overall it left me smiling, perfect if you want something fun and heartfelt! 👻💫
Wonderful This book was so fun. Family drama, sisters separated, safe house and a ghost! I got this book free from a giveaway and loved everything about it. Love a happy ending also.
Was a cute and quick read. If you have sisters i think you will really enjoy this book as well. The family drama a ghost and so much more. Cant wait to share this with more people.
this book was so cute. I loved the story and how everything came together at the end. there was drama a little bit of sad tears at the end. I'm so happy I was able to read it
This book is amazing! I would definitely recommend to read this ! I got the chance to read it through a book giveaway and I can’t put it down and stop reading it! 100% recommend
This book had such a good story line and plot. I loved the concept of the fmc having to help a ghost, and in order to do so, has to reconnect with her sister. I feel as though the book could have been longer, as most of the action feels jam packed towards the end. I disliked the fmc for one reason, her attitude. Olivia is a 17 year old harboring lots of anger, trauma and ungratefulness. Overall, this was a cute, short, halloween read! Looking forward to more of Marina's writing!
This was a great emotional read for me. I loved the sister's bound that can't be broken. Marina did a great job writing this, it had me in tears and mad and happy all at once. the characters personality are great!
