Fairies aren’t real. At least that is what Byron James thought until he offended them by defiling their fairy ring while visiting Ireland. Back home in a suburb of Chicago, extreme bad luck persists causing him to question his own sanity and beliefs. Still, he doesn’t imagine his ill fortunes are a result of fairies.

Angela Murray was also cursed by the fae. She’d become resigned to her punishment and gave up hope of ever receiving her freedom. Her duty is to safeguard those who come under her protection. When she meets Byron, she has the opportunity to save him and she takes her responsibility with utmost sincerity.

However, Angela’s arrangement of Byron’s release from the fairies’ torment comes at a price. Will the cost be too high?

In a battle between them, will Byron be the victor or the ultimate loser, doomed forever?

Laura Hawks brings a fresh face to romantacy in her book Gargoyle Redemption . In her third stand alone novella to date, she introduces Bryon James to readers with his tale of a theft of a fairy ring stone gone bad. On a trip in Ireland, Byron grabs up a stone from a fairy ring and brings back a stone to a load of bad luck, and the nightmares it brings him. On his travels back from work a gargoyle comes across his path. It is the only thing that redeems him.
Upon night, sensing his danger from the bad luck from stealing from the Fae. The guardian, Angela, so named from her angelic appearance brings him back to the Emerald Isle to make a bargain with the fairy ring’s members to curry their favor. He has seventeen days to complete seventeen acts for the Fae to atone for his theft.
Byron does have the assistance of his Angela, though. Does his Gargoyle provide him with the due help? Does he complete his tasks in the right amount of time? This fast paced romp will grip the reader from the first page. Readers of Nora Roberts will indulge in this novella.

The Gargoyle Redemption by Laura Hawks is an original story about Bryon James who fins out fairies are real when he gets cursed by bad luck after upsetting them. Bryon finds himself drawn to a gargoyle statue. The gargoyle statue just happens to be Amanda Murray who was also cursed by fairies long ago. Both Bryon and Amanda find a way to fix Bryon’s curse but as always it comes with a significant cost!

Gargoyle Redemption by Laura Hawks is a spicy paranormal novella that definitely brings a fresh take on the story of gargoyles. This may be a short story, but she has packed so much into its limited pages. I really enjoyed the story and only wish that I had more to read!!
