Until We Lie

Rate this book
Say goodbye to Walford! This is the final book in the interconnected, small-town Runaway Hearts series. While it can be read as a standalone, the author recommends reading the series in order for the best experience.

Fear craves the dark. Hope seeks the light.

Ainsley Monroe
My family destroyed my ability to trust. I’ve learned to be self-reliant, indebted to no one. But when I lose my home and become stranded, I’m forced to reach out to the guy who’s been begging for my attention. Brody offers me his spare bedroom in exchange for companionship. No strings attached. The arrangement seems harmless enough. Besides, I’m leaving Texas once I graduate from university, and nothing will change my mind. Not even the beautiful man determined to earn my trust and my heart.

Brody Carpenter
I’m Walford’s resident playboy, the charmer with an easy smile and not a care in the world. It’s all a lie. Ainsley had a peek at the man behind the mask I wear, but she’s kept me at arm’s length ever since. So color me surprised when she asks for my help. After we become housemates, her walls slowly come down. And I start imagining a future with her at my side. Maybe she’s right not to trust me. Because my promise to let her go in six months might be the biggest lie I’ve ever told.

While this is a fictional story, it depicts real-life situations which may be troubling to some readers. A list of sensitive topics is available on the author's website and at the back of the book.

I've been interested in Ainsley and Brody's story since book 2's Run To Me. I knew there was some kind of storyline happening that we didn't yet know about and it always kept me intrigued. What I love about this series is while it can be read as interconnected standalones- there is definitely movement between each of the books, which I find more fun to read!

So if you can't guess by now, this time we get Ainsley and Brody's story. How they met and how Brody helped Ainsley after a few hard situations. While a slow burn, this was a beautiful story to me of penpal letters, strangers to friends to roommates to lovers. I loved the chemistry between Ainsley and Brody and how strong each were in their own right but also how vulnerable they both were too.

Ainsley and Brody both have secrets and I love how they learn to trust one another with those secrets that no one else knows. Brody is there to be everything Ainsley needs but he's flawed and says or does the wrong things sometimes. I actually loved how real this made his character. Ainsley is fiercely independent but I love how she begins to let others in and realizes she doesn't have to do it all alone.

I really really loved their relationship and this book. I love all the characters from Walford and the bonds they forge. I hope we get more of them all in the future because I'm not ready to let them go. Maybe we'll get a new series with Daniel? Also, is there a Rock/Lucy book? I need that one....

One of the biggest reasons I couldn’t put this book down was my sheer curiosity about how Brody and Ainsley’s story would unfold. Their journey is written with a slow, almost torturous pace—but in the best possible way. The tension stretches across the pages, making every step toward healing feel deliberate and meaningful.

J. B. LaRee doesn’t make this an easy, breezy read. Instead, she dives deep into the raw emotions of two people scarred by their pasts. The writing is layered, sometimes even a little confusing in its intensity, but always purposeful. That depth is what makes this story resonate—it cuts deep, lingers long, and demands patience.

Brody is a man carrying heavy burdens, and his guarded nature makes you ache for the moments when his walls begin to crack. His character isn’t just brooding for the sake of drama; he embodies the weight of trauma and the struggle of learning to trust again.

Ainsley, on the other hand, brings a quiet resilience to the story. She’s not portrayed as perfect or flawless—her vulnerabilities are laid bare, making her journey toward healing feel authentic. Watching her navigate her fears while still reaching for something more is both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Together, their story is not just about romance, but about rebuilding yourself enough to let love in. It’s a slow burn, yes, but one that smolders with emotional depth and quiet hope.

If you’re looking for a quick, surface-level read, this isn’t it. But if you want a story that digs into the complexities of love, loss, and healing—Until We Lie will stay with you long after the last page.

Thankyou J. B. for the eARC!! ❤️❤️❤️

A great series coming to an end! Until
We Lie follows Ainsley and Brody story. There was always some mystery about them through the Runaway Heart Series, and I’m so glad they got their own story. JB Laree writes some of the best MMC. I love how uplifting these characters are for one another. There is so much heart break but by the end you feel so much better. Such a great ending.

✨ARC review

After losing her home, Ainsley Monroe has no choice but to accept Brody Carpenter’s offer of a spare room—with the promise of “no strings attached.” Ainsley is determined to stay independent and leave Texas after graduation, but living under the same roof with Walford’s charming playboy makes it harder and harder to keep her walls up. Behind Brody’s easy smile is a man weighed down by secrets, and as they grow closer, both must face their pasts to decide if they can truly trust each other with their hearts.

Ainsley is such a beautifully layered character—her strength, resilience, and quiet optimism really stood out to me. Her insecurities were raw and relatable, and watching her slowly learn to let Brody in was so rewarding. Brody, on the other hand, is the classic “mask-wearing” hero whose hidden pain made me ache for him. I loved how Ainsley saw the real him and how he, in turn, learned to open up not only to her but to his friends as well.

I’ll admit, the beginning felt a little forced and I struggled to connect with their relationship right away. Some of the prose also felt a bit surface-level, even though I really enjoyed the clever science references woven into Brody’s perspective. But as the story progressed, especially in the final chapters, everything came together in a way that was heartfelt, emotional, and satisfying.

Until We Lie, is book three in the Runaway Hearts series, which follows Ainsley and Brody as they learn how to love and trust. This story is deep, raw, emotional and very relatable especially with each character having secrets they are too scared to open up about. Ainsley is a strong resilient FMC and her will to make it in life is so inspiring even with life throwing her so many punches she keeps her head up and pushes forward. Brody the MMC has a reputation, but he is so different from how he is seen yet hiding behind that reputation is easier than showing his true self. Two strangers may have met accidentally but they found a friendship that helped them heal, grow and love. I definitely recommend reading this book especially if you love spicy emotional stories.

Until We Lie is the third book in LaRee's Runaway Hearts series. This small town romance features Brody (Beck) Everett Carpenter and Lavender Ainsley Monroe.

Brody has a reputation. He is known as Walford's biggest playboy, with oodles of charm and hundreds of notches on his bedpost. While that may be who he once was, that is not who he is anymore. When Brody accidentally gets Ainsley fired on her first night as a server at a strip club, he directs her to Walford knowing that there's an opening at Bruno's Bar. Ainsley isn't sure what to make of Brody since everything comes at a price, but the two end up being secret pen pals, passing notes while she works her shifts. There's something about Ainsley that has captured Brody's attention, and she becomes the one person he feels comfortable allowing a peek behind his mask.

Ainsley is alone in the world and has come to learn that they only person she can depend on is herself. In addition to being a full time college student and Oakville University, she also works not one, but two part time jobs (the other being cleaning motel rooms) in order to make ends meet. While she has plenty of reasons to be jaded and closed off, she also has a heart of gold and is thoughtful, caring and considerate. When she runs into a problem, the only person she can think to call is Brody, and of course he drops everything and rushes to her side.

Brody ends up inviting Ainsley to become his roommate, and while she is still suspicious of what he wants of her, she accepts. Their forced proximity allows feelings to grow. Both reveal more of themselves and open up to the other.

While this may be the first book I've read by LaRee, it definitely won't be the last. This book was an unexpected treat for my heart. I want to go back and read the first two books in this series as I loved the characters and their relationships with one another. This book made my laugh, but also made me cry.

This was one of my favourite lines: "Where I was raised, you learn early on that community will always carry you further than pity. The former is solid and established, while the latter comes and goes with the tides, much like people's attention on any given crisis." It speaks to the found family theme that resonates through this book. Finding your people changes everything.

All I Want & Run To Me are officially on my TBR list. I look forward to seeing what this talented author has next for their fans.

📚✨ ARC REVIEW ✨📚
Until We Lie by J.B. LaRee
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.25/5 stars)

Ainsley and Brody meet when he accidentally gets her fired. Trying to make it right, he offers to help her find a new one in exchange for her friendship. Ainsley agrees, though she’s skeptical. Life (her awful older brother) has taught her that people can’t be trusted.

For almost a year, Ainsley and Brody exchanged secret notes, keeping things pretty surface-level. But when Ainsley’s car, which she has been living out of, breaks down, Brody is the only person she can turn to. He offers her his spare room, and soon, they’re roommates.

The small town can’t help but gossip. Brody’s reputation as a ladies’ man precedes him, though in reality, he’s chosen a life of control and celibacy. But as his bond with Ainsley deepens, that control begins to slip.

Ainsley plans to leave town once she earns her degree, giving her six months with Brody. Six months of him taking care of her in quiet, meaningful ways. Six months of intimacy and connection. But as her deadline approaches, will she be able to walk away from love?

This is book three in the Runaway Hearts series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone. That said, I’ll definitely be going back for books one and two. I loved the world LaRee created and want more of it.

Ainsley is everything I love in a strong FMC: resilient, self-sufficient, and determined to build a better life for herself. And Brody… he broke my heart in the best way. Behind his easy charm is a man aching to be truly seen. The difference between how he perceives himself and who he really is was gut-wrenching.

What I loved most was how Ainsley and Brody heal together. They start as two lonely, broken souls, but in loving each other, they begin to silence the voices that tell them they aren't enough.

📚TLDR: heartfelt and spicy, overcoming trauma, “promise you won’t fall in love with me,” best enjoyed with cake (frosting optional)

🌟Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
💧Drip-o-Meter: 💦💦💦
💗Something I Loved: Although there is a lot of HEAVY material in this one (seriously, check the trigger warnings), I really loved how J.B. addressed it. It was always respectful and purposeful and in turn, the character growth for both main characters was immense. At first all of their history/trauma made it hard for me to “figure them out,” but I grew to love that aspect and how I was simply along for the journey. It took the characters time to let each other (and the reader) past their walls and I enjoyed discovering who they were at the same time as they were discovering themselves. I also really loved all the cameos from the first two books and especially adored the unlikely friendships that formed between Ainsley and both Miguel and Daniel.
🥰Favorite Moment: I am a sucker for matching tattoos🦋 but if it wasn’t that scene then it’s probably the graduation dinner/Daniel’s speech. I wasn’t sure if this installment would make me cry but that brief moment hit me in the feels.
🌶️Spiciest Scene: Their first time (ch. 30) is probably the spiciest but I was also quite partial to chapters 49 and 52.
📚Standalone vs. Series: The 3rd and final book (interconnected standalone) in the #RunawayHearts series.
📖Would I Recommend: I would. I’d recommend all three actually, preferably in order (but maybe not consecutively as that’s a lot of emotion for anyone to handle at once). This book, like the others before it, had both humor and heart, and I loved how it wasn’t simply a love story between two people, but also a story about learning to love (and forgive and trust) yourself. I’m sad to see these characters go but am so glad they all found their happy endings and can’t wait to see what J.B. LaRee delivers next.

“Every jagged piece of you,”

I was not ready to let go of Walford and man was Brody and Ainsley story the perfect way to say goodbye. I do hope we get back to Walford in the future and I am rooting for a future Daniel story. While this could be read as a standalone I do recommend reading in order to fully understand not only the group but Brody and his reputation. You also can see there is more to him than meets the eye in the first two stories. Brody has the reputation of a playboy that he continues to feed into so he can hide parts of himself he is not ready to show. Ainsley is a college student who has left a hard family life and decided that she would be better if she limited the amount of connections in her life. By a stroke of luck she runs into Brody who is not looking for a relationship but a friend who doesn’t know his past. They form a secret friendship that benefits both of them in helping to heal deep wounds, uncovering each other’s masks and growing together. I truly enjoyed their journey because as different as their lives were they are equally damaging. This is a series I will always recommend and cannot wait to see what comes next.

JB is a master at weaving stories 𝙨𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙮 into your heart they take up permanent residence—and the interconnected standalone 𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐖𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐞 from the 𝘙𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 series is no exception. Brody and Ainsley’s story had my heart in a vice grip from start to finish.

I’ve been waiting for Brody’s book since the moment we met him in 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵. You could always sense there was something heavier behind his charming, carefree façade, and 𝙤𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙡 😭—JB delivered. His journey with Ainsley wrecked me in the very best way. And sweet Ainsley, who’s mostly been a quiet presence until now, completely broke my heart with the weight of everything she’s endured.

The connection between these two is undeniable—the 𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙡, the 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮, the 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚. But what really got me was the 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬 unraveling of those sky-high walls they’d both built around their hearts. They’re incredible together, and even better for each other. Watching Brody finally feel seen? That was 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜. The acceptance, the support, and yes—the raging attraction—were off the charts. The two of them together? 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘.

And of course, the found family that surrounds them remains one of the most beautiful parts of this series. This group of ride-or-dies owns my whole heart, and I adore every single one of them.

Until We Lie is an emotional roller coaster—funny, heartbreaking, raw, and healing. I melted, I sobbed, I swooned, and then I cried tears of joy at an ending that was absolutely perfect for them.

This series is absolutely 𝙩𝙤𝙥-𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙧 romance at its finest. Don’t miss it—your heart will thank you.

Thank you to the author for sharing an ARC copy with me and rest assured that this will not affect my honest review.

This review is a reflection of a personal reading experience and does not reflect the author as a person. Every story resonates differently with different readers, and while this one does not completely capture me, I am still grateful and appreciate the effort that went into writing it.

In the beginning I had difficulties with connecting to both protagonists. Mainly because the relationship between the two seems forced initially. Perhaps this can be attributed to the fact that both of them carry such heavy baggage from their past and any kind of relationships they're in always come with pretenses that they do not want.

I think another area I have difficulties with is the prose. I love the references to science and the pun considering our male protagonist is intelligently inclined to the area. I think this is such a nice and unique prespective that I haven't seen in the rest of the books I usually read. I just hoped there would be more depth.

It was hard for me to go through the beginning and middle of the book because of these, but I find as I come closer to the end, the final chapters makes up for this. The final few chapters are well done compared to the rest of the story. And because of this, I give a 3 star rating.

There are mature themes in this book and it deals with heavy materials. Please take care of your mental health first and check the trigger warnings available online. There are many open scenes. This is not suitable for a younger audience.

I’m so happy to finally be reading this one! I was curious about Brody and Ainsley from the moment they appeared in this series-but seeing their meet cute, unlikely friendship and tender moments was worth the wait.

Ainsley sees herself as cautiously optimistic even after everything she’s been through from such a young age and the struggles she faces every day in her life. I absolutely love that for her. She is incredibly strong, hard-working and has the biggest heart. Her insecurities are real and raw and relatable, and my heart went out to her. She had an absolutely beautiful journey and seeing her slowly let Brody in was such a big step for her. I couldn’t get enough of how her character evolved and started to shine a little brighter with each page.

They both had their own trauma and adversities to overcome. Brody’s past, the facade he put forth, and secrets he keeps broke my heart. I loved how Ainsley saw the real him. I enjoyed as he opened up to not only her but his best friends as well and started to be true to himself.

Yes, there was some tough moments, heavier topics and times when my heart hurt-but the care and detail this author took developing these characters and their story was just wonderful.

I loved each moment of watching them grow, separately and together. Brody and Ainsley were perfect together and exactly what they needed in a partner. They were fun, sweet, and steamy -you could feel their pull to one another in the best way!
I was completely invested in these two from the start, my heart was so full and I had the biggest smile by the ending!

As a first time reader of L.B. Larry I highly enjoyed the small notes which added to the plot which the FMC Ainsley and MMC Brody exchanged through texts and use of three initials each. Ainsley is both stubborn and bright but scared to allow Brody all the way in. The way ties into important elements of the over all plot so must read to discover the answer. L.B. LaRee is a crafty and brilliant writer building up the plot and character narratives which unfold and tell Ainsley and Brody’s story. The elements of mystery keep the writer drawn into the slow burn romance which is taking place through the timeline of Until we Lie. This 4.75 star read is hard to put down. Ainsley and Brody make a unique and entertaining pair. Tropes which would draw readers to pick up until we lie are : small town, roommates to lovers, age gap (8yrs), found family, forced proximity, golden retriever Mmc, independent fmc, and duel pov. Ainsley’s ability to trust was destroyed by unexpected party her own family. Brody struggles to earn her trust but questions if he really deserves it. I highly recommend giving L.B. LaRee’s newest release Until We Lie a try. I loved the complexity of Ainsley and Brody’s story and picked it due to roommates to lovers and small town romance tropes.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this book/ this entire series, was absolutely some of my favorite reads.. this series was 3/3 for me. is one of my favorite things I’ve ever read and this final book was the perfect ending. It gave me everything I want in a contemporary romance: drama, angst, yearning, honesty nothing was missing. The spice level was just right, and the side characters were even great!

Brody and Ainsley’s story tugged at my heartstrings from page one and never let them go. I loved how Brody was always ready to help everyone around him, even while keeping his own secrets close. Ainsley was the perfect person to help him open up, because she was holding on to so much herself. Their journey from strangers to pen pals( the notes were so cute), to roommates, to lovers was so good, I didn’t want to put this book down.

I also loved the addition of Daniel and his dynamic with Brody and then Ainsley. The conversation between Miguel and Ainsley. turned out to be one of my unexpected favorite moments he barely knew her, but he was still looking out for her, this scene made me cry and I didn’t stop till this book was over.

I could go on and on about this series, I’m literally obsessed.. but I won’t because I want you to read it, and start with book one. Trust me.

I received this book as an ARC, and I am so privileged to write a review for it.
FMC has a run in with MMC and their paths become crossed when he really just falls head over heels. She has a past that she desperately wants to escape from and stand on her own two feet, and he just wants to help her. It is a beautifully sweet story filled with the kind of friendships and romance that leave you feeling so warm and hopeful. The found family of such an obscure group of friends starts off as a bit of a head scratcher (celebrity, big city, stand-out kind of vibes), but by the end of the story you just want to go to one of their friend dinners! Depicts some not so lovely family dynamics, home insecurity, bullying/abuse by family, self harm (off-page), death/grief, and explicit content- heed the content warnings if any of these are triggering. The storyline is beautifully depicted, and the characters are developed so fully, it feels like they could be people you know (and may or may not want to be friends with 🤭)

I became obsessed with this series when I randomly found J.B LaRee via the algorithm and I’ve been waiting for Brody & Ainsley’s story not so patiently. It did not disappoint. Like at all. I loved this book so much.
I laughed. I cried. I love the town of Walford. I love the found family. There were new characters I loved learning about and old characters that felt like a warm blanket. I highlighted so many parts of this book and there’s just too many things I loved to talk about this coherently in a review.
You could read this without reading the others in the series but I think to get the full Brody experience you should read them all. Plus the others are just so dang good too. 1000% recommend this book & the series.

Thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to read and review an e-arc and provide my honest review.

I really enjoyed getting to learn more about Brody and Ainsley’s backstories. I was first introduced to them as side characters in Book 2 of the series, so it was exciting to see them step into the spotlight. However, as the story developed, I found myself struggling to fully connect with them. For me, the chemistry lacked the depth and angst I was hoping for, and I didn’t quite feel the emotional sincerity between them.

That said, I still love their story and the side characters strong sense of found family that’s been built throughout the series. The relationships and support among the group continue to be a highlight for me. Overall, I did enjoy The Runaway Series and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

JB LaRee did it again! This series is one of my absolute favorites. Literally it’s a series I think of on and off and recommend to everyone who loves romance.

This one sucked me in from the very beginning. Ainsley and Brody are the perfect roommates to lovers. The growth we get with these characters is amazing. And the spice whew! Brody is a reformed playboy who has been celibate for six years, and hides this fact from everyone.
Ainsley has a very hard time trusting people, and has been living out of her car for a long time until her car breaks down in the college parking lot. Her only choice is to reach out to one person she considers a friend.

Ainsley and Brody are two broken souls learning to trust, heal, and let love in. Ainsley’s strength, resilience, and big heart made me adore her, while Brody’s journey from charming playboy to vulnerable, honest partner was so moving.

Their chemistry was sweet, fun, and full of steam, but what really got me was how beautifully they grew together and separately. The heavier moments made my heart ache, but the way their story unfolded left me smiling so big by the end.

If you love emotional romances with raw characters, healing, and the perfect mix of angst and heart, this one’s a must-read.

Chapters: 17, 20, 30, 31, 35, 39, 42, 49, 52,

Until We Lie is the last book in the Runaway Hearts Series was a quick, small town read. Brody is a reformed playboy and a secret nerd, and I love him so much. Ainsley is a fiercely independent woman who seems to get hit with non-stop bad luck.

Until We Lie handled some pretty heavy topics but JB LaRee did an incredible job. It was a nice mix between the light and fun as Brody and Ainsley learn how to navigate their relationship but also the heavy. I honestly wanted to take Brody and hug him so close. That man 🥺 I look forward to reading what's next for JB LaRee.

This story swept me away. It felt more like a movie than reading a book. The character development and emotional growth were incredibly well done.

Brody is a reformed playboy carrying the weight of past trauma, while Ainsley is fiercely independent, shaped by trust issues of her own. Together, they’re magnetic. Watching their relationship evolve from pen pals to roommates, then friends, and finally something more was everything. The progression felt so genuine and natural. And the flirting and tension between these two? Whew. 😮‍💨

Two broken souls

Brody and Ainsley both had tragic baggage and I felt sorry for them and what they had to endure as children. I just ddin't understand why Brody didn't correct people - especially his friends - about his playboy status. And why did Ainsley believe that her dreams couldn't change from when she was a teenager. I really enjoyed the banter between Brody and his friends ... very realistic. And don't get me started on the spicy scenes ... very steamy! This is the last book in this series and I'm sorry it's ending, but I look forward to whatever this author decides to do next.

Brody had a difficult childhood and as an adult he compensated by sleeping around ... a lot! Six years ago he decideed he didn't want to be that guy anymore, but his reputation continued to follow him. Ainsley ran away from home when she was seventeen and has been living out of her vehicle. But when her car breaks down, even though she doesn't know Brody well, she calls him for a ride. When he realizes that she's been living out of her car, he insists she come stay with him till she gets back on her feet. Both Brody and Ainsley are closed off, but it doesn't take long for them to trust each other and open up. They both knew their living arrangement was temporary ... or could they have more?

Disclaimer: I was gifted this for honest review

Learning to trust and be who you are.
He falls first.
Damaged FMC needs to heal

I enjoyed the chemistry of our MMC and FMC. Roommates to lovers.
This is part of a connected series but can be a standalone with no issues.

My only negative was it felt a bit drawn out due to the crazy story length

This book made me feel all sorts of emotions. I cried, I got angry, I swooned. I loved this story. The judgment Brody had to deal with from everyone for someone he was years ago broke my heart. The same goes for Ainsley and the circumstances that brought her to Walford. I’m sad that the series is over. Out of the 3 books in the series this was hands down my favorite. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Until We Lie is an emotional and beautiful romance. The author created characters that felt real, and your heart will definitely hurt/ be happy for them.

The story follows Brody and Ainsley. Brody hides behind a mask of a happy go lucky man. Behind the mask, he has insecurities and trauma from his past. Ainsley is such a hard worker. She doesn't trust easily. Both have flaws and have their guard up, but slowly form a beautiful friendship then relationship.

This is a slow burn romance, but the journey is worth the wait.

I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to the author for an eARC of this title.

I absolutely loved this book and devoured it as quickly as I could!
I loved watching Ainsley’s character grow and become more confident in herself and what she wanted. And of course, Brody. Ugh, can’t we all have a guy like him?

I just love this quote!
“Most days, I don’t know if you were sent to save me or ruin me. But even if you end up ruining me, I wouldn’t want to miss a single second of my demise. You’re worth the fall, no matter how long or short it lasts.”

Thank you to the author for letting me have an arc to read!

Until We Lie
By JB LaRee

5 ⭐ 3 🌶️

Tropes:
💙 Small Town
💛 Roommates to Lovers
💙 Age Gap (8yrs)
💛 Found Family
💙 Forced Proximity
💛 Golden Retriever MMC
💙 Independent FMC
💛 DUAL POV

Main Characters:
Ainsley & Brody

Stand out lines/quotes:
“We also promised to be honest with each other, but we hold back the truths that matter most. I’ve accepted your terms. I’ll go on pretending we’re nothing more than friends and lovers, because at least I know you’re mine until we lie.”

My Thoughts:
To say that I’m in love with these characters is an understatement. JB did such an amazing job with them, the whole crew was absolutely incredible. All the little details about each one of them just proves what an amazing writer JB is. Ainsley and Brody’s pasts just broke me but reading how they helped each other without even realizing it was so heartwarming. I can’t recommend this series enough.
