"You're pregnant! The child belongs to your new boss! And he wants to fire you!"
I thought I'd dreamed those words, but it's the harsh A year ago, he shamelessly used me and tossed me aside.
Now he's back, threatening my career and making it clear he wants only one Me! Oh God! Should I tell him he's the father of my unborn child?
As an ambitious journalist, I wanted to impress my boss at a company party and climb the career ladder. Instead, I fell into bed with a charming stranger. He vanished by morning—taking my hopes with him.
What I got instead was a child from that passionate night. Soon after, I discovered he was the very man planning to acquire my employer and lay off the entire staff. And I'd already revealed all my company's secrets to him. I vowed never to see him again…
One year later, everything changes. He's purchased the company and become my new boss. Worse I report directly to him—while he remains oblivious about our baby.
But the most shocking part? Marco isn't the man I thought I knew. Cold and calculating, he makes his desires crystal he wants me. And I My body! Nothing more. What will happen to my career? Can I ever trust him again after his betrayal? And what will he do when he discovers the truth about our child?
Just after he takes over the comapny she works for, she mentions she was jealous that her co worker who got a promotion for the last week, the promotion happened a year ago. She got back to the office after the party to find out she’d been passed over, the party that happened twelve months ago. Also the author is off base about baby development. The authors made the story one year after the one night stand. So after a nine month pregnancy the baby at most would be three months, four if your being generous and allow for the idea of an early birth, a three month old baby is not crawling into your lap, and you most certainly should not be feeding it Mac and cheese and applesauce. I feel like if you want to include things like babies into your books the research into the development is so easy it should not be so off base.
This book could have been good but it was corny. Also the author needs to do some research on pregnancy and baby’s. Time line are wayyyyyy off. If a year has gone by since they were together and you are pregnant 9 months then the baby would have been 3 months. But the author was writing the baby as a year old. She wouldn’t be climbing in her lap or eating Mac n cheese or saying mama at 3 months old. After 7 chapters of bad writing I just skipped to the end. Were the little girl should have been about a year old but once again was written as a different age.
The entire time I'm reading this book, I'm shaking my head saying no, no, and no.
The timelines are awful and make no sense and it seems the author doesn't have children. Because they clearly don't know how long it takes one to make one and the entire story I'm thinking, huh?! The factual accuracy is the worst. Along with why the F didn't you get ahold of him? You jerk!
Book starts out. They hook up. 6 weeks later she's at the doctor's office doing a stomach ultrasound and saying she's 6 weeks along. At that gestation, it would be a vaginal ultra sound for the little blip that the baby was and she would have been 7, maybe 8 weeks pregnant by then because it goes from your last cycle. Not when you did the deed. 🙄
So she also finds out who baby daddy is at that appointment. And she's so butt hurt he never called that she doesn't reach out to let him know she is pregnant to give him the opportunity to be in the baby's life. Um. No. Not cool.
Fast forward a year. The baby should be around 5 months old. If she's 2 months pregnant by the first part and it takes about 9 months and, really, closer to 10 months (40 weeks), then the baby should be 5ish months old. Not almost a year.
And when I'm reading that the baby's favorite food is mac and cheese, I'm thinking what the f*** is happening right now? Because the baby shouldn't know what mac and cheese is at that age or any of the other food.
So from the beginning of this book I was annoyed that the timelines of the author at Erica And even her friends didn't tell her to let Dad know. Keeping a child from their parent is the worst thing you can do. And I do not respect it. Working donut regardless of the situation. So this message just not for me and that she works with him from what, a month or so to get the business out of running management and she never bothers to die and then he he she's as biased when she gets a commercial is the worst story out of the series and the series was even that great! Because I did like Marco and the ending was good. Partially because it was over and the bs was finished. Ha.
Marco Vallejo is an extraordinary businessman specializing in acquisitions and restructuring and then resale, all for a profit. He was born to wealth, but he has grown his business exponentially. He is handsome, single, and craves anonymity. He meets Erica Gunner at a cocktail party, where he is seeking information regarding the last acquisition in his sights. They are immediately attracted to each other, go dancing, and have sex. He leaves his apartment early the next morning because his mother has had a heart attack. When he returns, Erica is gone as is the note that she left with her number. Erica discovers that she is pregnant. In the doctor's office, she sees Marco on TV, so she knows who he is. She decides to not tell him and to lie to her family about his identity, saying her pregnancy was from an anonymous one night stand. Marco buys the newspaper where she works. She becomes his acquisition assistant but doesn't tell him about his daughter. He eventually discovers the truth. This is a longer book at nearly 600 pages. The writer weaves an interesting and entertaining story. Marco is a genuinely good man. Erica lies to him and then blames him that she went through pregnancy and labor alone. At one point, she even tries to get sole custody, legally, even though he has done nothing to warrant her behavior. In spite of Erica's behavior, I found this to be a very good book, and I recommend it.
This author is certainly taking me on a journey! After a rough start in Book 1 and an improved Book 2, I was so excited for Erica’s story—she was such a standout side character. Unfortunately, Book 3 was a total mixed bag. I liked Marco (H), his mother, and the other side characters. However, I really struggled with Erica in this installment. All the sharpness and depth that made her so interesting in Book 2 vanished; she felt whiny, indecisive, and at times, thoughtlessly cruel. But the biggest issue was the writing and editing. The timeline and child development were completely unrealistic and pulled me right out of the story. If a woman sees a man a year (12-14 months) after they were together, the baby should be around 4 to 6 months old at most. Instead, we have "Wonder Baby" Josie, who is 11 months old, walking, and clearly saying "Mama" and "Ma coo." Unless this child is a literal savant, the math just doesn't work! I spent so much time trying to make the timeline make sense that I couldn't take the rest of the plot seriously. Everything was kept so vague and "misty." I’m back to feeling "meh" about the writing—the author and editors definitely need to do a better!
This was a wonderful story and if executed correctly would have been my best read for the year.
timeline
I just can't get over this: it's 1 year and 6 weeks after the one night so that is 58 weeks, pregnancy is 40 weeks (10 Months) this the baby is 4 months and 2 weeks (18 weeks old). how is this baby eating solids and saying words (most baby's say there first word around 12 months, with a typical range between 10 and 14 months) and crawling on to her lap this is very advanced for a 4 month old. ( Later on it was revealed that the babies were 11 months so it should have been -/+ 1y 8m later. I feel if an author wants to white about this please get the facts right as this is Not logical. It makes you confused when reading. And put you off of the book and author. After this book I do not want to continue the series to be honest.
I really think someone needs to edit this book and correct the wrong timeframe.
Other than this I really enjoyed the characters, I got irritated and felt emotionally, so this says to me that this author can execute an amazing book
Erica is the daughter of a renowned billionaire who she has distanced herself from. She has worked for a small independent newspaper for several years and is hoping for a promotion. Marco, arrives at an event for Erica's newspaper with the intent of gathering info in his attempt to purchase the newspaper. But, he abandons that idea when he is instantly attracted to Erica whom he then pursues. After the "best sex of my life" night (their Individual descriptions), he leaves her the following morning without any explanation. Follow along to see what happens when he shows up as the new owner of the newspaper and their reunion. Though the plot is similar to the first two books in this series, describing both the female and male perspectives, and includes the inevitable "secret", I'm a sucker for a HEA.
This book is a sizzling blend of romance, mystery, and emotional depth that delivers far more than its “secret baby” trope might initially suggest. Set against the backdrop of New York's bustling streets of New York, the novel follows Erica, a journalist trying to find her place in the world of work, and Marco, a stranger with secrets of his own.
Their chemistry ignites over some jazz music, leading to a passionate one-night stand. But fate throws them back together, Erica has to decide whether she trusts him enough to share her secret. As the story unfolds, layers of deception, emotional vulnerability, and unexpected twists keep the reader hooked.

Forbidden Desire by Rebecca Baker is the third book in the Baby Confessions Series. I enjoyed reading Erica and Marco's story. Their story had everything, enemies to lovers, second chances and surprise baby. Once I started reading I found it hard to put down. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

Was passiert müsst ihr schon selber lesen.
Erica is not really a likable character. She was selfish, insecure and purposefully hurtful. Marco was hurtful at times as well, but it was understandable after finding out all the lies Erica told. I honestly don’t know how she could look at him and knowingly hide that he had a daughter. Then the whole idea about him giving up his parental rights, wow, just nasty. Her friend Sadie was horrible as well. It had a happy ending, so there’s that.
A little hard to follow at times. At one point they said it had been a year since Erica and Marco were together but then in the next part it said that Josie crawled over to her mom. Also at the towards the end of the book it said she was in a hotel getting ready but then it said something about the final touches in the back of the church. Over all I loved their story.
I was really looking forward to this book. In book 2 in this series Erica came off as such a cool badass. In this book, I hated her 80% of the time. She was so self-absorbed. She can say she was thinking about her daughter, but really she was thinking about herself. I'm glad she got her shit together in the end. There were also some timeline things that didn't make sense.
P.S. why is the cover image of this book so off base from our Latino Marco?!
I've read all 3 books and I've enjoyed the stories in them. The stories you're told in more detail than a lot of books and some of the angst was a little much for what I would consider real life situation.
I enjoyed reading about Erica and the stranger. It’s a lovely book to read. The author is a great writer. It is a stand alone with a happy ever after. It kept me hooked till the last page. Which is lovely
Yet again, fantastic writing. So many emotions ran through me reading this book, from frustration, to anger, to disbelief and back to frustration. It's a captivating read from start to finish. Would definitely recommend this book. 🥰

A beautiful story one that tells or love and emotions. Through troubled times and secrets their love was meant to be. The author has done an excellent job with the three books in this series and I enjoyed them all.
I think there is way too much AI in this series. The timeline is a mess. Things change mid story. Is the ending at a hotel or church. Yeah I’m not suffering through anymore in the series.
