Solomon has been reincarnated so he will get a second chance at demon fighting.

Confusingly at times, this narrative shifts times and in some ways perspectives.

The characters are selfish, trite, and fall flat at times.

Perhaps, if events happened in a different order, the characters would have been more likable making the story more enjoyable.

Overall, a disappointing read.

Loved this book every bit as much as I did the first one.
Again, it held my interest all the way through, and I had a hard time putting it down!
The characters were very well written and all were believable, I really enjoyed getting to know them all.
I loved that you couldn't really tell where the story was going to lead you from chapter to chapter.
If you haven't read the first book, you should, not because you won't be able to figure out what's going on, but because it would be a shame to miss out on all that enjoyable reading!

Ghost story

This is an interesting southern ghost story. The characters pull you in and make you want to find out what happens next so I will keep reading.

(I received a free copy of this book from Curiosity Quills Press, through NetGalley, in exchange for a review).

(This review may contain spoilers).

There were a few bits of this book that were somewhat confusing at first, but I very quickly figured out what was going on and despite this book being the second in the series, I was able to follow the characters and plot fairly well.

I liked Solomon's and Desiree's relationship, though I did think that they made out at times that weren't really appropriate. Still, I was able to believe in the feelings that they had for each other and although Solomon seemed almost a bit obsessive at times, it certainly wasn't as bad as some of the relationships I've seen portrayed.

One thing I particularly liked about this book was the fact that there were realistic consequences to actions. Solomon gets shot and it isn't just forgotten about. I'm not quite sure why the demon needs to drink Desiree's blood, though. That doesn't come across well in this book.

The glimpses into Solomon's past were quite interesting. In many ways, it reminds me of the character Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Redemption-style storylines always interest me and I was glad to see that it did affect Solomon.

The ghosts/angels were interesting, but I wasn't entirely sure of their history. I think I would have liked a bit more explanation. Some of the things that were described were really awful, so the author did a really good job of portraying those scenes.

There's still an air of mystery to this book - many things that have been left unanswered. I would like to see more of a balance with the characters - in a way, they seem a bit simplified; at least the supporting ones do. I'd like to know more about them generally.

I did notice a few errors in the book, though they weren't anything major. At some point, I'd be interested in reading the other books in this series. This book has left me curious enough to want to know what's going to happen to the characters.

I hadn't read the first book in the series, so in the beginning it was a bit confusing, but not so much that I couldn't follow the story line

I liked Solomon and Desiree, even though they weren't my favourite characters, but they were quite interesting to follow.

The storyline itself was quite good and interesting, but it didn't really catch me, consume me, you know? Where you can think of nothing but the book. I got distracted quite easily. It might have been because the book just wasn't for me entirely.
I did enjoy reading the book nonetheless, I might even re-read it at some point and read more of Aiden as I like his writing style

I received a copy of this free from Netgalley in return for a review!

Now on GR it says that this is book 2 and I haven't read book 1 so I don't know what important stuff I've missed there, but they did seem to re-cap quite well so I coped!
I really enjoyed this book, there were loads of twists and turns that I didn't see coming! This book was a lot of fun with demon's around every corner! I'd recommend this to my friends!

Received a free copy to read and review. I couldn't put it down. It definitely is just as good as book 1. It's a real page turner. Would recommend it this series to others.
