Rate this book
“Rabbit Hunter” by Jeffrey Brooks is a story about Baby Rabbit, who wakes up to find his parents are away, leaving him in the care of Grandpa Rabbit. Over breakfast, Grandpa reveals that Baby Rabbit’s parents now work at the cat food factory, a place with a mysterious origin.

Grandpa Rabbit recounts his childhood, when rabbits lived in fear of the Rabbit Hunter, a menacing predator. Forced underground for safety, the rabbits faced new threats from ferrets working for the Rabbit Hunter. After losing his parents to this menace, Grandpa Rabbit discovered the ferrets’ weakness—cat food.

Using cat food to lure and befriend one of the ferrets, Norton, Grandpa formed an alliance. Together, they tricked the Rabbit Hunter into fleeing, ending his reign of terror. This led to the creation of the cat food factory, which provided food for the ferrets and secured peace between the species.

The story concludes with Baby Rabbit learning how cooperation and innovation transformed fear into harmony, ensuring a peaceful future for rabbits and ferrets alike.
