Dash #2

Dash: Volume 2

Rate this book
I should have walked away that day at the race track. I should have turned my back on Dash and all the feelings I started to have for him. He lied to me. He was keeping secrets from not only my father but me as well. But I couldn’t. There were too many unanswered questions that I needed to know and he promised to tell me. But promises are made to be broken, right?

I lied. Not because I needed to but because I could. Tabatha was smart, though. She is gonna figure out sooner or later that who I am and who she thinks I am are two very different people. She deserves the truth. But how do I know what the truth is anymore?

In Volume 2 of Dash, readers witness the growing attraction and bond between Dash and Tabatha as they continue to tear up the sheets and give their bodies and their hearts over to one another, but their relationship is also turning into quite the duplicitous situation, which in the end, might cost them the best thing to ever happen to either one of them.

Secrets always have a way of coming out and treachery can only lead to catastrophic events, which seems to be where Dash and Tabatha are headed, both individually and as a couple, due to outside players and their vendettas against the hot couple, and with the cliffhanger at the end of volume 2, it's too soon to tell who's out to get whom and what that means for Dash's career and Dash and Tabatha's commitment to each other.

There's multiple factors to consider in Dash and Tabatha outing their relationship to the public eye and with Tabatha's insecurities and Dash's risky profession, nothing is cut and dry and the risks they face might be too much for them to endear.

I didn't think I would like the idea of serials...I thought they'd be too short and leave me frustrated. But the more serials that I read, the more I truly enjoy these short episodes because they keep readers' interest and keep us invested until the next one, kind of like a television show.

Tabatha and Dash are great characters and their banter and hot connection truly fly off the page, but they definitely frustrated me in volume 2, especially Tabatha. I know she's been hurt and she's hesitant to start another relationship, but she cuts and run over anything and I don't blame Dash for being frustrated. Do I condone some of his acts, absolutely not, but Tabatha needs to understand his side of the situation as well and that doesn't seem to be happening much in this volume.

Hopefully, in volume three, despite the dilemma Tabatha is left with in volume two, she'll uncover the independent fighter that she used to be before her relationship with her ex and claim what she wants with Dash despite the interference from multiple sides.

This picks up right where we left off in the story.

Tabatha is questioning her choice to have just walked away. Dash had not been overly forthcoming but when it comes to his past but she too has been overly vague. She is trying to move on from the person she was and be someone she is happy with. She can be a little bi-polar at times and is hard to figure out.

Dash struggles to figure out how to handle the past and his potential future at the same time. He knows he wants to explore whatever he and Tabatha have but it seems life gets in the way. Dash has a bit of an authority problem but knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it. He tends to have the best of intentions but that doesn't always work out for him.

Again when they get together though, there is no denying what it there. "Like neither one of us have a past. Like we're not hiding from the present. I don't know what our future holds, but at the moment,it goes on forever."

In this installment, while Dash and Tabatha are muddling through whatever it is that they have we see a bit more of their poisonous pasts. Rodger is a complete tool and Valerie is a b*tch. These exes stir up more trouble than they are worth.

This was another well written, fast read. Ms. Tessier doesn't mince words and we move quickly though theses character's lives. It works well for installments like this because there is a lot of meat and very little fluff. BUT this piece leaves you in hanging on a cliff, more so than the last one and thought my kindle was kidding when it told me I was at 100%. I really want to know what is coming next.

5 Stars!

Yowza! What an epic second part in a sexy new serial series! And that ending.... WTF!

This book was off the charts at good, addictive, and totally teased my senses, making me want more! This book was sweet, smart, sexy, naughty, suspenseful, intense, funny, and has one storyline that is turning out to be one crazy, sexy ride as we delve deeper into the series.

Both have secrets that threaten to explode and tear them apart in the continuation of Dash and Tabatha's story. As the suspense and secrets grow thicker, Dash and Tabatha have a long road ahead of them. And the obstacles they face and the people out to tear them apart cause more concern. And these two must remember, everything they do comes at a price.

Who is out to sabotage Dash? Why is Dash and her father being blackmailed? How will Tabatha's father take to the news of their new relationship? Will Dash be able to tell Tabatha the truth about who he really is? Is a HEA possible for these two after all the obstacles they face? Get ready for an explosive ride!

I have to say that I love the relationship dynamics between Dash, Tabatha and her dad. And the banter between these two is funny at times and then turns instantly into panty melting hot. And the chemistry between these two grows. I will admit at times I wanted to smack these two and the game of cat and mouse they play is intense at times! But I am totally rooting for these two. I wear my #TeamDash shirt proud!

This book does end in a cliffhanger as it is a serial series but no worries as the book release close together. I can't wait for the next installment!

I highly recommend this book and author!

**Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

This second volume of Dash picked up right where the first one left off. This series has been promising so far and I am loving it!

Dash and Tabatha have some strong chemistry and boy when they're behind the sheets, it leaves you panting and wanting to be a part of that twosome (ha!)

Someone is trying to get rid of Dash and are trying to blackmail Tabatha. The question is, is Tabatha willing to spare Dash's life in order to give hers up?

Dash wants to be with Tabatha and he doesn't care if he is putting his life in danger but he does realize that Tabatha can also be in danger if they go public with their relationship. The question is, do they want to unwanted attention and the dangers that will lurk once they are publicly seen together?

Things look like they're heating up in this series. I need more of Dash and Tabatha. I want to find out what's going to happen between them -- will they risk their lives for each other or will they give each other up to not have to jeopardize and endanger their lives.

I can't wait to find out what's going to happen. These two souls have to suffer in order to spare each other's lives. How sad and exciting is that!!

Shantel, you deserve 5 stars on all your books as they are all so consuming and raw and dangerously mysterious -- I absolutely love your books! You have a way to express so many different emotions in your books and they are all sad, happy, angry, mysterious and dangerous. I love all the combinations these series of yours has.

Favorite Quotes:

“If I know Jackie, she is probably sitting in one of the windows, eating my ice cream while watching us. She’s a freak like that.”

“I am a smart-mouthed bitch who has anger issues and a right hook to prove it.”

“At one point, I saw myself marrying him. Then at another point, I saw myself cutting him into little pieces and burying him in the backyard of our spring Villa where we would be living.”

“I fell in love with him because of the way he made me feel. Not my feelings toward him, but my feelings toward myself. I lit up when he walked into a room. I had a smile on my face that wouldn’t go away. My skin would tingle whenever he would look at me.”

“I kiss her desperately. As if she’s air and I’ve been drowning. Because that is what she does for me. She helps me survive.”

My Review:

I am conflicted in how to rate this book. I found the first 80% entertaining, and then I didn’t anymore. But 80% is a significant margin for the positive outweighing the negative, and Shantel Tessier has skills and talent. I just despise the direction she chose for the last quarter the story. Hiss. She broke my heart. Up to that point, the story was passionate, fiery, emotional, angsty, and fogged up windows steamy. The tale and the characters were as unpredictable as they were interesting. But that remaining 20% has me in a total snit…

YES YES YES I am loving this. Tabatha needs to get a grip on her running and Dash needs to just lay it all out there !! These two could make an awesome pair if they get their crap straight. As for the suspense in part 1 it escalates here and of course we have another cliffy but this time it is crazy and this character is really pushing their luck with me. I was quite shocked with Tabatha's fathers reaction to them and his actions with Dash about their certain problem. I didn't really like that but thankfully Dash is a good boy , sort of LOL , and he didn't need to go that far. I enjoyed being locked away with the two of them for that short time but all good things must come to an end and the second they left the house all heck broke loose. Impatiently waiting for more , not fair since I had 1 & 2 together !! Is it too late for Dash and Tabatha or will they get their chance ?? Will we get more racing because I do drool over a guy in leather on a motorcycle !! Fast and reckless and yummy !! Oh and I may have forgotten to mention that this book is dual POV and I love that so much !!

Hot Sex scene starts us off ....Whew grab a fan folks.
These two have weaved a mess for themselves. Dash is keeping things from Tabitha and Tabitha runs when things get difficult. It seems like an impossible relationship, but they both have feeling deep enough that they can't walk away. They make a decision that will, hopefully, allow them to be together. There is danger lurking, and it appears they both have ex's that will do anything to tear them apart... even kill. Cliffhanger ending.

4 1/2 "I NEED MORE" STARS

WOW! I am speechless, that did not just end like that! I need the next volume NOW! I am loving the chemistry and tension between Tabatha and Dash, while also getting to know them and their pasts. Shantel Tessier's writing flows so well that you can't help but get so wrapped up into the story that you don't even realize you are almost at the end! Definitely a must read novella series!

"He knows what he does to me when he looks at me like that. Like I'm the only woman in the world. Like neither one of us have a past. Like we're not hiding from the present. I don't know what our future holds, but at the moment, it goes on forever."

We pick up right where Volume 1 ended. They are at the track and Tabatha has decided to hear Dash out. But when things happen that are out of her control she begins to second guess her decision to believe and trust Dash.

"This is a risk that could cost me everything." He leans back in his chair as he stares up at me. "You're right. He nods his head. "It could cost you your life."

Dash is being pushed to do something he doesn't feel is right. But after the incident, his boss and Tabatha's father feels it is what has to be done to protect everyone. Dash is torn though because lying to Tabatha is not something he wants to do. It could jeopardize his future with her before it even begins.

"I risked my job to be with Tabatha. And now I'm risking Tabatha for my job. How did this get so f***ed up?"

How do you decide what is right? Will Dash make the right decision? Will Tabatha ever trust him?

I was tapping my Kindle like a crazy woman, hoping and praying that it did not end like that! Why oh why! Cliffhangers kill me! But I am loving Dash & Tabatha's story, they are explosive together! And I HOPE that we don't have to wait long for the next volume! Must Read!

We continue the story of Dash & Tabatha and their relationships. I use the plural because it seems they are each in other relationships at the same time they are together. It seems that neither of their Ex’s can get the hint that they are broken up.

With Rodger causing major problems for Dash & Tabatha we also have Valerie causing major issues with Dash. The fact that their parents are best friends being a major one. She’s also vindictive and just absolutely horrible!! I think that Rodger is going to be the worst but hopefully I’m wrong in my assumption because if they join forces…..OMG! That’s going to be just terrible!!! I have no idea if that’s going to happen…..we’re gonna have to keep reading.

The end of this book broke my heart! And unfortunately that’s all I can say. No spoilers!!! LOL

I am really loving this series. The story is great. The writing is wonderful and the characters are amazing! The ones we love are fantastic and the ones we hate are well….fantastic. In the sense that I really fantastically hate them!

This volume is too short too but it is the way it’s supposed to be. But it leaves me with very short review. Sorry eveyone…just take my word for it and buy it!!! The first one is free right now!!! Go one-click (link below) and give this series a try. You won’t be sorry!!!

Highly Recommend!!!!

~*Review by Jodie Rae*~

Let me start of saying that my addiction to this series is worse than my addiction to shopping!! This is the second book in the Dash series and it takes us right back to the yearning lust-filled world of Dash and Tabatha. I am so involved with Dash and Tabatha that I am already aching for the next book!! I In this book, you will see that someone is trying to harm Dash and destroy Tabatha. That there are people out there that do not want the two to be together and they will do whatever it takes to sabotage their relationship. There is fun, a little mystery, and hot sexy time between Tabitha and Dash. For me this book showed me more about all of the characters and still left me with so many questions! A few major questions that will leave you frustrated is, Dash and Tabatha going to make it? Will they put everything they have and make the relationship work, and have it go public? So many questions that I really can't wait to find out!! I am looking forward to the next book!!

********************Spoiler Alert***************

I usually like my main characters to be two steps ahead & twice as intelligent as the peripheral players in any book.
Unfortunately here the resident bodies though are hot, their brain waves are not & yet I still enjoyed the chaos that ensued.I guess stupidity is addictive & not having the survival skills of an ant is the new hot.A trait highly prevalent in both lead characters.

Dash has somehow managed to survive the seduction of Valerie, even while in a drunken stupor. How he got to Tabatha so inebriated is a mystery seeing that he has just recovered from one crash.Tabatha is like a bag of hot air,she talks the game but is about the easiest character to manipulated.

Will Tabatha find the strength to prevail through her trials.

Read with caution the 'cliffies' are brutal.

Books end about 70 percent through

Book 1 and book 2 both ended at 69 percent into the books. While I don't mind at all having intros to new stories at the end of the books, it being 30 percent is way too much. I like the story, but because 2 times now this has happened making the actual book significantly shorter than I expected, I won't be buying the rest to finish the story.
