Danielle asked for a year apart from Felkyn, to heal, to grieve, and to find her feet in this now unfamiliar world. Even though her time in Ireland isn’t all she’d hoped, she’s been through worse, and she’d rather keep her head down and endure than have Felkyn pull her out of the fire.
Felkyn’s world has dimmed without Danielle’s presence. Feeding’s lost its appeal, he feels like he’s spiraling, and everything reminds him of Danielle. He’s determined to last the year before contacting her, but there’s a song writing itself in his heart, and he has to get it out in the world before he ignites.
Just as music is Felkyn’s only release, makeup holds Danielle afloat until a serendipitous friendship pulls her from her despair, propels her into the music industry, where she catches her foot in the door of her dream career. When Felkyn’s new song drops, their lives crash back together, and the love they’ve kept simmering all year burns.
But the Agathati, the witches that previously gambled with Danielle’s life, are determined to use her again in their mission to kill Cain. Only this time, she isn’t the bait: she’s the weapon. Danielle will have to confront every one of her fears, because it isn’t just her future with Felkyn that’s under fire: it’s her freedom.
Amelia Rose has a BA in English and Classical Humanities, but barely remembers any Latin. She lives in Ohio with her husband, and fills every moment of her free time with writing, drawing, making beaded jewelry, or constructing cardboard sculptures. She loves dancing shamelessly to all kinds of music, obsessing over musicals, devouring horror movies-the gorier the better--and going to concerts. She never passes up the chance to ride a rollercoaster or get kisses from a dog.
Fallen Idols is Amelia's debut novel, and the first in an ever expanding series called The Fallen Favorites.
Ok so I received this as an ARC and having read both book one and two of this series, this book fit perfectly “in between” lol. I love the relationship and playful back and forth but most of all I loved seeing Danielle grow and heal more. It’s a great read and fills in the missing pieces between the two books. It’s definitely a must read for all fans of this series.
Amelia, you are absolutely brilliant. This book is amazing. I just couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. you're my favorite author. I love you. 🖤 I love being able to talk to you about your writing and the characters. plotting 😁. thank you for letting me arc read for you and inviting me into your street team. I adore you. im ready for a sweet baby Riley book.
This book was fantastic! It fit perfectly between books 1 and 2, and filled in so much missing information. I loved seeing Danielle’s healing journey, and the friendships she made. It was also great getting Felkyn’s perspective of what he went through being away from her. This was a great addition to this series!!
I loved this jump back to the event between books 1 and 2 to see how Danielle fared in the aftermath of book 1 and her transition to Lapsus.
The budding relationships with Aoife and Caoimhe were just beautiful to witness. The sass and banter of the Irish shone through 🍀
I love that Danielle pieced herself back together and overcame all the obstacles like the badass woman she is without needing Felkyn to step in to help, not to mention how she put him in his place about exactly how she did it 😎
This book was an amazing addition to this amazing series. It gave us more depth to characters we loved and gave us new and exciting characters that we grow to love or hate. I absolutely devoured this book and loved reading it so much, I bought both the kindle and physical book (after being an ARC reader). I would definitely suggest if you are new to this series, to read this between book 1 and 2 because when I re-read it, I will be doing that. It is so good.
Aaaaah omg ok this book kept me up too late for two nights but I absolutely could not put it down. For those who have read the series, this is book 1.5 where we get a more full account of what happened between books one and two. It was such a joy to be back with Danielle and Felkyn. As always, the snark is fantastic, the quotes had me dying (witch. Jesus), and the horror references were on point
I loved this little revisit into The Fallen world. I liked see what took place in the time between the main characters time apart and seeing how they came back together. I had forgotten how much I like Falkyn lol! Though the book is shorter, there is still lots of actions. Lots of answered questions, with plenty of twist and banter.
I loved this so much! I didn't think I would love it as much (or more) than I loved the first book since this was only a novella, but I was wrong. I honestly think I loved it a tiny bit more than the first book. just a tiny bit though. still loved that first book and can't wait to read the rest of the series!!
