He’s the Alpha Prince- and my fated mate. I’m the daughter of his rival. And I’m pregnant with his pup.
Alpha Tristan Conris is my enemy. My father has been plotting to overthrow his bloodline for years. And me? I’m just the disposable daughter, the one who cleans up the messes and raises my siblings while dodging my father’s wrath.
When I’m forced to cater a high-society shifter gala to put food on the table, I never expect him to be there. Tall, commanding, with a voice like thunder and a scent that makes my knees buckle. The moment our mating bond snaps into place, I panic and run. He chases, and pins me against the wall. And when he kisses me like he owns me, I let him. Just once.
But once turns into a night. A night turns into a secret I can’t take back.
Because now I’m pregnant with the heir to the werewolf throne.
When I try to tell him, he looks at me like I’ve betrayed him. Like I’m the enemy. So he rejects me. Publicly and brutally. And I vanish before he can tear the rest of me apart.
Now I’m in hiding, carrying his child, while my father prepares for war. But when Tristan comes hunting for me- not out of love, but suspicion—I’m forced back into the palace. But when Tristan finds out the truth… about the baby, the betrayal, the bond…
Will he claim his unborn pup? Or will he reject us both?
Rejected and Pregnant by the Alpha Prince is a fated mate rejected mates romance for mature audience only!
This book started out pretty good. It had a different feel to it, and the King's manipulation worked for me, too. The question, though, in my mind is why? Why would the king go to these lengths in order to give up the crown? What does he get out of it? There wasn't any reason for it, other than just keeping up appearances, which they should have known that Tristan would blow out of the water once he was in charge, anyway.
Lyla started to annoy me, too. She knew things were fake. She knew he didn't feel anything for Celeste and that things didn't add up. She even said to the king that he was lying, but then she suddenly believed a note from Tristan that he didn't want her anymore, just out of the blue? Suddenly he was going along with his father's narrative when he wasn't before? Come on! Grow a brain!
The ending felt a bit contrived, too. He suddenly relocated the seat of power for the whole kingdom to a tiny village on the edge of the territory. Right. I get wanting to be with her and I get her wanting to stay, but some things just aren't feasible.
Apart from their first meeting, I skimmed the MCs getting to know each other and the scheming family part of the story. I wasn’t too interested in seeing what flavor of dumb seasoned the plot and wanted to get straight into the angst and running away portion, and you know what, I hardly missed a thing. The MCs still ended up where they ended up and I didn’t come off reading this frustrated and disappointed. I really liked how they handled the climax and end. I love how Lyla stayed true to her conviction of not returning to the palace and keeping Edith, her savior and pseudo-mother figure close until the end. I love how it’s the MMC who actually makes the move to geographically be with the FMC and how it was explained how the changes Tristan made as king impacted and helped the rest of the kingdom. Pretty solid character growth on his part which I always appreciate.
I love fairytales, the good guys and bad, the trials and tribulations. The Prince meets his fated mate but his parents do everything they can to rearrange his life. He wins in the end, love conquers all and he is a people's King.
