Don't Close Your Eyes

My life ended the day I answered the door and found out James had died. Writing has become my only release and secluding myself from the people who constantly judge me for my way of grieving has made me famous. I'm not ready to love again, in fact it's not even a thought.

Someone needs to tell that to Liam. He's breaking through all of the walls I've worked so hard to create. How can one man be so intriguing? He just gets me, maybe a little too well.

Guess I am a minority here. I get it was a short book but everything happened too fast and seemed so bloody far fetched that for the majority of the book all I was thinking was "are you f'in kidding me?!" I think it could have been a good full length book.

can someone please tell me what happen in this book after you read it? none it made any sense. also the freaking plot was dispose to be awesome. the concept was great but execution flawed.

I gave this book a shot because it had great reviews on Amazon but I'm thinking I read a different books. Liam was hot. I loved his take charge alpha male personality and livi was annoying. I get being heart broken over your husband but come on that all changes over night? everything happened way too fast. I'm all was insta love and connections but I also like that with some depth...this book just didn't have that at all.

very disappointed because it sounds great

My Rating: 3★

This is my first book by Hilary Storm and I actually enjoyed where she was going with the story. There was romance and a bit of an intriguing "who done it?" although the culprit is very clear. I liked Liam right off the bat but Olivia made me want to smack her a time or two. I get that life dealt her a harsh blow with the death of her husband but she treated Liam like a stud, only present to stoke her physical desires. But Liam is not without blame, although you understand his actions later on in the story. On a couple of instances, he did the "slam bam thank you ma'am...and I'm out" thing on Olivia -- leaving both her and the reader scratching their head saying, "What just happened here?" Once the clues start coming out as to who Liam is, Olivia is rightfully upset. I probably wouldn't have given him an opportunity to explain either because what she uncovered was just creeeeepy. I loved Liam's family and how they had his bad, and by extension, Olivia's. Heck, his mother ended up being the one to save the day.

My only mild complaint with the story was it's length, and therefore its pace. Everything happened superfast because the couple and you didn't get an opportunity for much back story. There is mention of Michael's wife who is pregnant with their child but she never came over to Olivia's house whenever he came. But, it was never clarified whether there was even a wife or not. My assumption was not but it would have been helpful knowing that. I also would have loved more backstory on how Liam and James met and then drifted apart. We hear both explained casually but it would have helped to tie things together a bit nicer.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and definitely will be on the lookout for the stories about the brothers.

This book was gifted for a honest review

I've had the utmost pleasure in reading a lot from Authors that are new to me. Some I really could have just left on the shelf... others went on my fav list. I will be putting Hillary Stone as favorite of mine. I didn’t have a problem giving “Don't close your eyes” four stars. This read was out of my genre of reading, but I so enjoyed it. Once I started reading I read straight through. 113 pages is a decent length
that wont leave so much detail you will feel bogged down.
Contemporary suspense... had me eagerly swiping my kindle for the next page.
Love, passion, sadness and betrayal will all play a factor as Olivia tries to put her life back in order after losing her beloved husband. With most of her “family” thinking she was crazy, the one family friend looks out for her. Olivia meets Liam on a business trip and at first she was snippy and rude. Usually when someone is like that they have other feelings they are trying to hide.
Liam sex walking tatted male... border line pushy and has a abundance of confidence... or arrogance.
By the end of the plane ride Liam has the up tight Olivia a bit more relaxed and takes her to her hotel room. Laughs what I said relaxed.. yep she was.
Through out the story I reaffirmed my thought in if you let secrets lay around, all they will do is fester like a sore* half truths no matter the reason aren't swallowed well. Lies, sexy and a stalker … hmmm. All wrapped up in a awesome read, I loved it and recommend it. It may have you on the edge of your seat a time or two. Enjoy.

Olivia has had a rough year since the death of her husband. She is finally taking some steps to make some changes in her life to move forward. She has left her career in order to pursue a future in writing. Her husband's former partner on the police force has taken to keeping Olivia safe and supporting her as she grieves. On the way to a conference, Olivia meets Liam and finds herself aroused in a way she hasn't been since the death of her husband. A one night stand turns into more, and then it turns out Liam is much more than she ever realized and there is more to him and her own story than she realized.

The chemistry between Liam and Livi is smoking hot, and even though it is clear that we don't know everything, it is hard to deny the pull between the two of them. Things definitely get exciting when certain things are revealed, and there are moments when it is difficult to know who to trust. I enjoyed spending time with Olivia and getting to know Liam and his family. I will gladly continue with this series. 3.5 stars.

Don't Close Your Eyes is a quick read. I finished it in a couple of hours.

I liked the mix of hot sex, anger, suspense they all came together well in this one. I found Liam Bryant, sexy, sweet, over protective, confusing, alpha-ish, he was an enjoyable character. If his brothers are anything like him, I can't wait to read their stories.

What I didn't like: Olivia. She was very flip floppy. I get this was her first relationship after her husband's death but she was screaming that she was be held hostage then sleeping with Liam within the next breath. The insta-love. I like the build up, I wish there was more build up between Liam and Olivia.

This is my first read from Ms. Storm, I look forward to more in this series.

Hmm. I have to admit I read this in nearly one sitting so it can't have been tooooo bad. And it wasn't. It was definitely an ok read and it was very readable.

Supposedly some chick is being stalked to become a sex slave by a close policeman friend and is saved by her dead husband's best friend that he had never mentioned to his wife?

So really my biggest gripe (ie 2 lost stars) was the fact that these seemingly significant events are fairly insignificant and easily swept under the carpet and moved on from.

At one point the best friend's (Liam) family rescues the heroine (Olivia) from near death... Liam's mum shoots him as her family home is blown to smithereens. But that event garnered about three lines because that was no biggie at least everyone was alive. It all seemed very dramatic yet emotionally detached .... like one of those blow 'em up movies where everything can be completely destroyed yet one can simply walk away without a glance backward.

3, crazy shizznit, stars.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is first book of Ms. Storm's that I've read but it certainly won't be the last.

Ms. Storm's characterization of Olivia Drake is something that readers can relate to and its easy to see how her grief could isolate her from her family and friends.

Liam Bryant's arrival in her life is something that Olivia doesn't appear to need or want, but once she lets herself live a little, she can't seem to put her stony facade back in place.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is a quick read, and is a complete story - although being the first of a series, I assume we will meet the lead characters again. I liked that the main protagonist is an author, and how she got into character to be outside herself. The plot wasn't particularly complex, but it held together, and was a good start to what should be a very hot series.

~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✯ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Don't you love it when the synopsis of a book gives you an idea of what the book is about but not what really happens? That's what this one did for me. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the description of this book but once the story started evolving, I totally got into it. The suspense of the situation had me wondering which way this was going to go for at least 1/3 of the book. I was reading so fast on my kindle so I could figure out what was really going on, that my turn pages button should be broken. :) The single POV for the first half of the book added to that suspense. The author does add the dual perspective towards the end of the book but the majority of the book is told from Olivia's perspective.
Olivia and Liam make a great couple and I fell in love with them from the beginning. Felt for Olivia right from the start. Her past and what is happening to her currently made me cry for her. Liam had me going back and forth over hating him and loving him but by the end he had me totally in love. He is alpha but doesn't show it totally until the last half of the book.
I've read other books by this author and liked them as well but DCYE was just a little bit better than the others for me. Hilary Storm does an excellent job of story telling and getting you involved with her characters. The only thing I would change would be adding full descriptions of what the characters looked like. There were little hints here and there but I had a difficult time picturing what they looked like. Not really important to the story itself but, for me, it helps set the scene. There aren't really that many secondary characters in this book. Or at least they aren't all that involved in the story itself.
This is a stand alone and does have an HEA. This was also a quick, easy read. So for those of you out there who need something easy to get into but that holds a little suspense, this is the book for you.
~~~~~~~~~~Michelle's ★★★★✯ Review~~~~~~~~~~

“Don’t Close your Eyes” was my first book by Hilary Storm and I really enjoyed. I could not imaging going through what Olivia went through in losing the love of her life. Her family and friends have left her high and dry, so she stayed away from everyone except James’ partner Michael. Michael is there to comfort her, support her and help in any way he can. She goes off to a conference and during the flight she meets Liam…(sigh)…He is every bit of your gorgeous, bad boy who gives her one hot rough sexual encounter…but as soon as he is done he leaves. I was mentally yelling at him for being such an A$$...That’s about enough spoilers for me.

This story was fast paced but Storm did an excellent job in keeping the flow good to where you did not feel like you were missing anything. Just as you think all is good, Storm throws a huge curve ball in that completely changes the story. Someone is out to get Olivia – problem is…it could be anyone. It was intense roller coaster and I wish there was more to their story.

If you are looking for a quick, intense and sexy as hell read you want to pick this one up. Well done Ms. Storm!

~~~~~~~~~~Sandie’s ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~~
So this was my very first Hilary Storm book, I know, I know don’t kill me and can I say I have been missing out on a very talented author. I promise I will go and purchase every single thing she has written if it is half as amazing as this.
Don’t Close Your Eyes drew me in from the very start. We meet Olivia who through heart ache finds her niche as an author. On the plane ride to her very first author signing she meets Liam, who rubs her the wrong way. But boy oh boy does that change real quickly when their spark leads to so much more, “Im going to fuck you the second we close the door to your room” holy hotness! Or how about this gem….”This is going to be hard and fast. If you can’t handle that, don’t let this go any further.”
This story ends up being so much more than a chance encounter between two strangers. Can secrets that Liam is keeping stop them from being together? Can Olivia let go and move on from heart ache and loss to let Liam in, and trust him? Will someone who is supposed to be looking after Olivia destroy everything? I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait for the next Bryant Brother book comes out. Hilary has found a true fan in me!
I was already a Hilary Storm fan. And of course I wasn't disappointed with Don't Close Your Eyes. I really didn't think I would be, but this book went past all expectations that I had. Olivia is heartbroken and a new author heading to her first signing She meets Liam who has secrets, but their attraction is like no other. No this isn't just two people meeting this book is HOT!. Liam likes it hard and he bring Olivia with him. I loved this book and this is a must read, You don't know what you are missing when you pass over a Hilary Storm book.
~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~

OMG!! This was a HUGH surprise! It starts out like any Alpha erotic romance scene. Hunky, arrogant, sizzling male meets strong, beautiful, independent female with sparking chemistry. Olivia meets Liam and everything is so peaceful, loving, funny and exciting.......you can almost hear the violins playing.

SUDDENLY, a photo accidentally turns up that changes everything! There is confusion, mistrust, frustration, anger and impatience that moves into suspicion, mystery, fear and unbelievable revelations. Who is lying? What is the truth? Who can one trust? This was so exciting to read I couldn't put it down until I finished it in one sitting! Wonderful in every way! I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this book 100 percent! Five Stars.

~~~~~~~~~~Zarah's ★★★½✯ Review~~~~~~~~~~
A Chance meeting that wasn't by chance at all!
Very fast paced book. A chance meeting, a quick hook up, suspense, drama and an unexpected twist. Everything you would hope for in a book, there were just a few things missing for me personally. The story does pull you in straight away and you can really feel Olivia's pain at trying to come to terms with and move on from her husbands death. The loneliness and Isolation she feels, one can only imagine but she does seem to be very up and down with her reactions to certain situations at times.
Liam, very over the top protective of someone he has only just met, but he knows more than she realizes.
There was not a lot of back story given about her husband and I was confused as to who exactly Michael was to her until towards the end of the book, there is no explanation as to how he died, his profession and while they are not pivotal to the story line, 'in my opinion' these could have helped the story. I'm not sure though - this might have been deliberate on the Authors behalf though!
Please don't let that take away from the story through!
~~~~~~~~~~Nicole's ★★★★✯ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Don't Close Your Eyes was a fast read but action packed. Olivia lost the love of her life. Trying to cope from that she writes. One weekend she meets a guy named Liam. Liam is a guy who changes Olivia's world a bit. They seem to have an instant connection. Not everything is what it seems. Not everyone is who you think. This story keeps you on your toes and in great suspense. I give this book 4 Stars.

This is such an amazing book and I am so happy to have read it. The twists and turns keep you on your toes as more and more details emerge. It is exhilarating and has all the feels. I had moments where I loved, then hated, the loved Liam again and it honestly felt like I was walking in Olivia's shoes through the entire story. I cannot recommend this book more and wish I could give more than 5 stars because it is definitely deserved.

This book was a quick sexy read. Moved really fast. The chemistry between Olivia and Liam was hot. Did end pretty abruptly, would have liked to have read more of them after all the craziness that happened in the book. This was the first book I’ve read by this author and will probably read the other books in the series.

A dramatic start to the series

Olivia Drake was a writer. She was also a widow with no family. The love of her life had died over a year ago and she was only now venturing back into the world. Virtually a recluse, flying to a book signing in New York City was a huge step for her. What she didn’t expect was to have an obnoxious seatmate in First Class and she certainly didn’t imagine she would be sexually attracted to him. Liam Bryant, even for a stranger, was a mystery. She knew he was someone she wanted physically but what she thought might become a one-night stand surprisingly turned into more. Things were happening fast and curve balls abounded as this short story gained momentum quickly and ended in spectacular fashion.

The book’s beautiful cover was the first thing to catch my eye. This is the first in the Bryant Brothers series and also my first read from this author. Olivia was a heartbroken widow and Liam was a funny, protective love interest for her character. And this when things started to turn. Liam was not sharing everything about himself or his intentions and I was quickly caught up with the heroine wondering what the plot twist was going on! It’s hard to talk about more without revealing some of the story’s nuances that you will definitely want to learn for yourself.

While the story was engaging and the characters interesting, I found that, like other short stories, character development and plot details seemed to be sacrificed to ensure the entire story was told. Though we know Olivia is a widow with much of her heart still tied up with her dead husband, details on their relationship are almost non-existent. We know she loved him but we don’t know how that happened or what made him so special to her. Olivia was alone, with no family, yet we know nothing about her upbringing or why James’ family was not a part of her life. Liam’s family was an integral part of the plot yet I wanted to know more about his parents and his siblings. I guess that is the feeling left with me - I want more. I look forward to the next stories in the series and hope the author provides more details on Olivia, Liam and the entire Bryant clan.

Title: DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES
Series: Bryant Brothers #1
Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Hilary Storm (in exchange for an honest review)

This is the first book in Hilary Storm’s new Bryant Brothers series. They will need to be read in order.

Olivia has been widowed, left behind when James, a police officer, was killed on the job. For the last year she has cut herself off from everyone and everything. She finds solace in seclusion. What started as journaling to work through her grief, has become a career as a romance author. While traveling to attend her first fan event, she meets Liam. Soon Liam is breaking down the walls built to protect her heart from any relationship and romance isn’t even a thought until she meets him.

I thought this was an amazing story. I laughed and cried right alongside of Olivia. The last few chapters had me actually holding my breath waiting for the outcome.

I’ve often talked about how a book will keep me on the treadmill longer than normal. This was one of those books that I could have walked for hours to read. When I finally noticed my time, I still didn’t want to put it down to do my other exercises. I fell asleep with my tablet on my chest because I refused to acknowledge the need to sleep. I woke up and finished the last few chapters (holding my breath most of the time as I mentioned before) and didn’t care that I then had to rush around to get to work on time. It was absolutely worth it! The title is perfect, the cover is perfect, and the story is perfect, not to mention the off-the-charts lust and love.

I am now saying daily prayers for Hilary to have a drama free real life. I need the next book. Repeat after me: “Dear Lord, please provide a no-drama-zone around Hilary Storm in her real life, so that we can get the next drama in the Bryant Brothers series. Amen.” Thank you.

Don't Close Your Eyes by Hilary Storm is the first book in the Bryant Brothers' Series. A book about finding yourself in the face of a tragedy that could break one to their core, the reader is emerged into a story about a heroine who is trying to put her life back together after the death of her husband. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I am looking forward to what comes next in this series.

Olivia was venturing out of the seclusion of her home for the first time following the death of her husband while in the line of duty. Having pushed everyone away aside from her husbands partner, she began writing as a way to escape losing the love of her life. Wishing the her James was beside her to support this new adventure in her life, she gets on a plane and travels across the country to New York to attend her first signing as an author. It is on the plane where she meets the sexy Liam Bryant and encounters an attraction to another man for the first time since losing her husband. Deciding that it would be okay to have a one-night stand with a stranger, she invites Liam back to her hotel room for a night of passion like she has never felt before only to wake up with him gone. And that is where the really story begins.

Liam is in New York following up on a promise that he made to someone in his family, a promise that directly involved Olivia even though she doesn't know it. He will do everything in his power to protect her, as that was his promise to James before he died. Olivia has other ideas. At first she believes that Liam is the bad guy, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Without any information about what is really going on or why Liam has her living in his house, not letting her out, Olivia is beside herself with fear.

When Olivia finally becomes privy to the information that Liam was keeping her, it seems that all hell breaks loose and the action begins. What action might that be? You will have to read to find out!

So, if you have yet to be introduced to Hilary’s brood of hot men, you can start with Liam! Hilary has been teasing us for so long, I was nearing the stage of ripping my hair out! But, luckily, apparently she loves me and decided to save me from a lifetime of having a bald spot!

Olivia’s pain filters through this book like water of a darn cliff! As a reader I look for a book that can make me see, feel, touch and smell whatever the character does. Having a story that is so intrinsically written, that it plays out right before your eyes. It’s both rare and a spectacle to behold. Olivia’s heartache makes yours churn with resentment and sadness, all you’ll want to do is hug her, never letting go. The progression of Hilary’s newest release shows us how much healing Olivia needs, and really begins to peel away at the layers of her character. Letting her personality shine through.

Liam is one of those males we all want by our sides, if we don’t have one already. Their relationship is stunningly explosive from the beginning and will have you switching your panties halfway through. Even though Hilary can write a smashing sex scene, as most of us know from her Rebel Walking series. This isn’t the sole focus in Don’t Close Your Eyes, it’s a journey for everyone involved. It will make you laugh, cry and heal right along with them. You can tell Liam will do just about anything to make Olivia happy.

Hilary Storm knows her characters from the inside out, sideways and any other ways. She’ll have you falling for her new Bryant Brothers series in no time. Just remember, you’ll probably need an extra set of panties for this one, so grab a pair...or two just in case! While you’re waiting for the second book in this explosive series, I highly suggest you check out her Rebel Walking series if you liked Don’t Close Your Eyes.

Don't Close Your Eyes by Hillary Storm
Reviewed by Amy for Drama Queens Book Blog

4 out of 5 stars

Don't Close Your Eyes is a story about author Olivia Drake who is coping with the loss of her husband James. Everyone thinks she's gone crazy after Jame's death except his partner Matthew. Olivia rarely leaves her home and Matthew is the only person she really talks to. When we first meet her she is at the airport traveling to her first book signing. On the plane is where she meets the mouth watering Liam Bryant.

The book is pretty fast paced right from the beginning. I was able to read 70% without even realizing I had read that far. The story is very sexy and steamy from the get go. The book also has a lot of action/ suspense to it. I will admit this was my first book by Ms. Storm, but I will be adding the rest of her books to my TBR based on my opinion of this book.

Olivia struggles with her attraction to Liam and her feelings for James. She is strong and feisty and I really liked her. Even though a lot of what happens causes her to question everything she still lets her heart be her guide. Although she has shut herself off from the world after her husbands death, she's still not weak. I love that about her character.

Liam is at times distant and aggravating but at other times very sweet and understanding. He is definitely an alpha male but not too over the top. I love how understanding he is of Olivia's feelings about Jame's, how after their initial time together he tries not to push her for things she might not be ready for.

I only had one small issue , the ending seemed a bit rushed to me. Once the suspense came to an end it seemed like all the angst in the relationship was gone as well. I would have liked to see a little more between the wrap up of the case and the epilogue.

Olivia’s life is turned upside down by one knock on her front door. A year later, she is still grieving and trying to come to terms with her shattered life. Since that fateful night, she has turned into a recluse, quit her job as an accountant and fulfilled her dream of became an author, a bestselling one at that! Her family and friends think she has gone to crazy town and she hardly sees them anymore which is fine by her as she can wallow in her own grief.

Deciding to further follow her dreams, she decides to go to New York for her first author signing. On the plane ride there, the passenger next to her is the infuriating “Liam”. He invades her space and pushes all of her buttons in every way possible. As soon as the plane lands, they go back to her hotel and have a deliciously wicked hook up and one further time while she is in New York.

Returning to Houston, she feels guilty for what she has done until Liam contacts her again and she decides she is allowed to have a bit of fun and sees Liam again.

Liam has been keeping a secret from her and when she discovers this secret, she doesn’t know who she can turn to or trust. She is shocked, terrified and is devastated with the situation presented to her.

Follow the ride where not is all that it seems and a few twists will be thrown at you. From what you expected to be a hot encounter turns into a much more sinister scenario.

Don’t Close Your Eyes is suspenseful, erotic, flawless and an easy read that keeps you engrossed the entire time. I read half of the book in half an hour because I could not put it down!

Another 5 star winner from Hilary!

Hilary Storm's Don't Close Your Eyes took me on a ride that I wasn't quite expecting but thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

Olivia completely altered her life when the love of her life, James died. Lost in a sea of grief, unwilling and unable to face the world around her, she lost herself to pen and paper as a way to cope. Now a NYT Best Selling Author she is on her way, full of nerves, to her first book signing event. On the plane she meets a very persistent sexy man who comes back to the hotel with her. Will Liam just be a one night hot as hell f*ck? Or will he bring her walls crashing down? Is there more here than there seems?

The characters were intriguing and compelling. Loved that Olivia was an author and that you get to see a bit of that side and her nerves. (Of course being a blogger and working with many authors that part just sent little warm fuzzies through me!) The way Liam swooped in and their hot chemistry – swoon! He starts helping to remind her to live again. I enjoyed seeing that and their interactions and struggles (I’ll leave you to see exactly what THOSE were and why! Don’t want to give anything away!) But I was surprised by what his business was…

I definitely recommend this book. It was a quick and enjoyable read. I read it in one sitting. And I am so excited to see what will be coming next in the Bryant Brothers Series. The brothers we caught a glimpse of here are hot and intriguing. Can't wait to see what is in store for us. I knew I should have laid my hands on a Hilary Storm book before now! Don't know what on earth took me so long! Don't be stupid like me - grab it now!

This is the newest book from Hilary storm and I really enjoyed it. The plot flows quickly and we see straight from the get go the strong connection between Olivia and Liam.

Olivia is grief stricken after the loss of her husband james. Although when the story starts james has been gone for over a year, it is still apparent how raw his death is for 'livi'. On the plane, on her way to a conference, she meets a handsome stranger. He irritates her and turns her on all at the same time. She soon begins putting her novelist spin on things and imagining her and Liam as 'no strings' lovers, but we soon see the connection between them is stronger than either of them thought it would be.
Liam is one of five brothers, and he would do anything for either one of them. He's mysterious, alluring and soon pulls Olivia under his spell.
This may sound like any other, boy meets girl story, but it's not. Olivia has a past that she's trying to forget, and Liam is a lot deeper than we'd first have believed. Revelations occur and at some points, we aren't able to see where our loyalties lie. I understand Olivia's reactions to one major revelation, but I also understand it from Liam's p.o.v too.
This is a fun, sexy read with twists and turns that you may not expect. Hillary is a brilliant writer and this does not fail in that department again. She's nailed it. My only 'teeny' comment would be to make it longer. I'd love more backstory on all characters. I will certainly continue on with the Bryant brothers series.

To tell you the truth I was intrigued about Hilary Storm newest book because of the cover. Not only is the cover hot but this is a book with a big twist that you did not see coming.

The story of a widow Olivia who a month after her husband is killed decide to quit her job and become a romance writer. During one of her author events meets Liam. A man who re awakens her body but like she said its hit it and quit it.

But Olivia is left wanting more and Liam is in a position to give her more. There relationships grows once back in the same city but when things start moving forward. Hidden secrets are discover, half truths are told and Olivia in danger.

That when we get hit with a big shock. One of those plots twist in a book where you like what just happened. I loved those!!!
I started Hilary book thinking poor Olivia and when she meets Liam that he might be able to re-awake her. In some books you can see where the story is going but in Don't close you eyes what you expect is nothing like what will happen.

I really liked Olivia a women who after a tragic event reshaped her life no matter who judged her. When she met Liam I was like she going to get her grove back.

The only downer is that the story did have a big plot twist but it was a short read. Its easy read but I just wish there was more it was longer.

This story is a must read if not for the cover then for where the story leads Olivia. In life you never really sure who you can trust?

Olivia's husband James was her life until his death a year ago. Picking up the pieces has been hard. Instead of continuing with her job as an accountant, Olivia became a successful writer choosing to stay isolated. The only person she still sees is Michael who was James' partner on the police force. When presented with the opportunity to attend a book signing in New York, Olivia makes the arrangements to go. It will do her good to spend some time in public, and she needs to show her readers that she's appreciative for their support. Olivia never counted on meeting Liam on the plane. She never counted on the intense and immediate attraction she felt towards him. Can she relax and enjoy time with a man other than James? Will Liam be the one to break down the walls she's built?

I absolutely adored Liam! He's hot, protective and can even throw out a little sexy dirty talk. I had to warm up to Olivia. When she and Liam first meet on the plane, she's abrupt and rude. I was thinking she was a major b**** and Liam could do a whole lot better than her. After she loosens up, I liked her better.

I went into this book thinking it was a sweet romance, which it is. But it's also got some suspense with secrets and there are twists and turns you wont see coming. Through it all, you'll love Liam and the man he is.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It's my understanding the series will continue with stories about Liam's brothers which should be good too.

4.5 Stars!

I enjoyed this book though it was not what I expected it to be at all. This book was definitely hot and steamy and had a very suspenseful plot with many twists and turns that will have you guessing until the very end. This is a quick read but it packs quite a punch.

This is Liam and Olivia's story. After suffering the loss of her husband, Olivia is the shell of who she use to be. She is close to his partner and he helps her cope but she finds a niche in writing. Becoming a best selling author allows her to travel. On one of her book signings, she meets a very mysterious Liam. After a sexy one night stand, he continues to come and see her but then quickly disappears. But when things go very wrong and Olivia's life changes, who can she trust? Secrets will be revealed. Truths will be told.

I liked Liam. I will have to say at some points I was on the fence about him because of subsequent actions but in the end, I LOVED him. He was a great anti-hero that you wanted to hate but ultimately loved. I also liked Olivia. God I felt for pain for her loss. I liked how she stood strong through everything she endured. I did not see the twist coming at the end. Took me by total surprise! I cannot wait for more from these two in the future books!

I highly recommend this book!

Dont close your eyes by Hilary Storm had me hooked from the first couple pages. It is written in a casual style that is like listening to Olivias diary or chatting with a best friend. It draws you in and welcomes you.

Olivia is a writer who is on her way to her first signing and meets Liam on the plane.....Liam....rude, arrogant, cocky jerk on a plane? Yup....but WOAH holy smoking hot Alpha....

Liam brings Olivia out of her self imprisoning shell she has locked herself in after the death of her beloved husband James. She is conflicted. Michael has been there for her since his death and is not happy when she decides to hook up with Liam. But Michael has a new wife....that's where things get interesting....Michael is awfully overprotective to the point of domineering....then Liam takes charge. Olivia has to decide who to trust because things are not as they seem! Does she trust Michael who has between there all along,her beloved husband's partner. Does she accept Liam and listen to what he says when everything points negatively against him. Does she trust her heart, that James would protect her even from the grave?

I can't wait for book two in this series, i devoured this book and finished in under 24 hours. Hilary Storm is a gifted writer. I love her style and had the pleasure to meet her before this book released, so I was especially excited to read it! Oh and Scott King on the cover? Yes please and thank you!

As a huge fan of Hilary Storm I was so excited when I found I was one of the few lucky ones to get an early copy of Don't Close Your Eyes! I was so excited that I just had to drop what I was doing to dive right in!!!

Omg....can I repeat...OMG!!! Hilary never ceases to amaze me. I was totally hooked right from the start! The storyline as well as the characters reached right out of the book and took hold of my mind, body, and heart! I kid you not!! I couldn't put the story down. Not even to grab a cup of tea, or even to eat my lunch. I was that enthralled with it. All I could think about was, what is going to happen next...where is she going with this?

The characters were very well developed. The main characters, Olivia Drake and Liam Bryant, both had multiple layers to them, and can I say....I want my very own Liam to keep!! I totally fell under his spell!! I love characters that I can have such a deep emotional attachment to, and Hilary did just that with these characters.

Don't Close Your Eyes took me on an epic journey. I enjoyed every single twist and turn, as well as each speed bump I came across. Hilary Storm has once again outdone herself, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for me next!! This 5 star read is one you won't want to miss out on! Grab your copy of Don't Close Your Eyes by Hilary Storm today!!!
