River Bend #2

Can't Get Enough

Rate this book
When life gives you lemons, find a neighbor with sexy abs to lick the lemonade from...
Tony Dunn's panty-snatching bachelor life has been turned upside down--he now has custody of a daughter he didn't even know he fathered. With his focus solely on doing right by his little girl, the last thing he needs is a sexy, totally distracting blonde showing up in his doorstep.

Nicole Hodges is in River Bend temporarily, to handle her grandmother's estate and get the heck out of Dodge before her past catches up with her. Only problem is...she likes the quiet little town more than she expects, and she can't resist overextending herself to help her built-like-a-bad-boy neighbor get his life back on track.

Tony and Nicole have different goals in mind, none of which include a relationship. But what harm could come from a little fun--the naked kind--if they both know the rules up front?

Warning: This book contains a sex-deprived single dad with a wicked tongue. Enough said.

4 - Caution - May induce quivering naughty bits and the sudden saturation of one's panties. Stars!

I have been waiting for what feels like forever for Tony Dunn to have his story told. The first book in the River Bend series Can’t Shake You gave us some golden snippets of a happy-go-lucky guy, with a huge dose of charm topped off in a tall, dark and handsome package. Ex-Marine and baby daddy too boot, this is a guy that should have every girl swooning all over her eReader, not to mention damp in other areas.

”If we do this, we do this. No wishy-washy shit tomorrow.”

And for the most part he did, the Tony we get in Can’t Get Enough is a slightly more serious version I remember though, which is hardly surprising considering the massive changes that his life has undertaken over the previous months, with the discovery of a daughter he never knew he had, and full custody of her that he never planned upon. There were glimmers of that guy though when exchanging banter with the guys, and I liked that the reader got to see the light along with the darker facets of his character.

”You let me fuck you, but you won’t talk to me.”

Nicole upon returning to town to sort out her grandmother’s estate discovers two things, her car is dead, and she is in serious need to cash. Tony and his short term requirement for a babysitter for his daughter, Brianna is the perfect option. The chemistry sizzling between them adds a complication neither of them thinks they need, but ultimately can’t deny.

”You came into my life for a reason, just like I came into yours. Whether you’re here for seven more hours or seven more weeks doesn’t matter, because this thing between us? It’s special.”

For the most part I really enjoyed this book. I found Nicole’s reasons behind being reluctant to commit or allow Tony to help her out in any way to be a little weak. More from lack of development from the author of her past issues than anything. I also thought that the resolution of the reasoning behind the mindset she had, to be too cut and dried after the amount of use as an excuse it warranted for her behavior throughout the first 75% of the book.

”I might just be good for you, too.”

That said, I did have really high expectations for this book, and Molly McLain for the most part fulfilled them, I just expected a little more to be honest. I understand that there is potentially more from this couple to come. I really hope so, and I hope they get the full closure that their story deserves.

”Baby, you’re a ride I’d spend all my tickets on.”

Can’t wait for more from the River bend crew; there are a few nice little leads in this installment of potential couples that I am looking forward to reading about in the future.

ARC generously provided by the author, it was my pleasure to provide the above honest review.

Can’t Get Enough- Tony and Nicole

Another sweet read!

Nicole used to visit River Bend as a child when she visited her grandmother. Now she is back for a few weeks to settle the estate. But things keep going wrong and her money supply is running low. So while she is in town, she wants to pick up a job to earn some money. That’s when she sees a sign at the grocery store about a nanny position. It will only be temporary, as she is a nurse and headed to a new job in Chicago in a couple of months. She is finally living on her terms and ready to start living her life her way.

Tony is a single dad, living in River Bend, and is finishing up his military service. He only recently found out he had a daughter and now has full custody of her. It has been tough, but they are getting the hang of it and he will do anything and everything for that little girl. In addition to his military service, he works with his friend Josh (book 1), as a contractor. He is very busy, always behind, and always exhausted. He needs help, as far as a nanny, and needs one ASAP.

Tony and Nicole have a brief run-in at the local coffee shop, but not knowing each other they just small talk and move on. Neither one of them denying though, that they thought the other was beautiful. So they are both equally shocked, when it is Nicole that shows up on Tony’s doorstep, for the nanny position.

That’s where things get complicated and where the good stuff comes in. There is tons of chemistry between the 2 and Nicole fits perfectly in Tony’s life. But with Nicole leaving in a couple months, what will happen? Another good read in this series and love the world that have been created. Look forward to reading about the rest of them.

This series has turned me to mush, especially Tony Dunn & Nicole Hodges!! Oh, and we can't forget baby Brianna!

What I loved?
Tony was focused on raising his daughter, who came into this life out of nowhere. Instead of running away or taking several steps back, he stepped up and did what he had to do. The only problem? He was drowning.

Here comes Nicole to save the day! Only in town for a little while to deal with her Grandmother's estate, I'm sure she never expected she'd end being Brianna's babysitter. And as much as she tried to fight it - Tony's lover.

Tony is just perfection. All of him. Nicole had her moments where I rolled my eyes BUT she redeems herself and I am so happy for this new little family!

Yes, it's me. The person who loves to start a series in the middle. Now I have yet another series to go back and read the first books..when I find the time. There were some hints dropped that made me want to go find it the first one.

This was a great book and was not lost by not reading the first one. A hot ex-Marine and a baby daddy..so good. Tony was amazing and so sexy and sweet. I just loved him. Now Nicole did annoy me just a little with her wishy-washyness. Overall, a great book.

What a great read! I was in love with the first book and this one was just as good. It was an easy to read love story! Tony......omg yummy! A single father that is over worked and has absolutely no time for himself. Then along comes Nicole. She is in town for a couple of months to tend to her grandmothers estate. When she finds her self down and out she ends up babysitting for Tony for some extra money.
This book is a typical love story, but it was touching and loving. An easy feel good read.

This was excellent! Hot and well-written....I loved the the way the character's emotions came through in the story. I'm not usually a fan of one of the main characters having a kiddo, but I enjoyed the addition of Tyler's baby girl in this. I was engaged and compelled to continue reading. I'd like to continue this series!

Enjoyable story. I really connected with these characters and how they merged together to be a little family.

I struggled a bit with the ex and the baby mama because it felt stilted, especially, the ex. I didn't see the point of him at all in this story.

Same old thing

You've read it a hundred times before. No originality. No romance. Just sex. They spend the first half of the book thinking about sex and the 2nd half having sex. Tony is not awful, but like most other "heroes" in this genre, he has no respect for what Nicole wants or the boundaries she sets. The author is obsessed with telling us about Tony's state of arousal. It's mentioned more than his daughter is.I have a ton more complaints about this lifeless sex fest, but whatever.

Oh my I loved this book Nicole and Tony know how to give each other a run for their money, "you look like you take care of your body." He gave her a generous once-over and she swore the temperature in the room went up twenty degrees." Tony obviously hasn't gotten any action since taking over custody of his baby girl so you can imagine what is going on in his mind where Nicole is concerned and it was fun ride to be in that mind, "then there was Nicole, who, at this very moment, was probably looking gorgeous as hell, playing some goofy game with his daughter in the middle of his living room floor. And, in about thirty second, he was going to have to walk in and pretend the sight didn't make him horny as eff." Sometimes I think Nicole just likes to tempt the devil, "she dropped her bag in the living room and bent to retie one of her sneakers. Sweet mother of God. Were those cheeks peeking out? And where exactly was her panty line?" There was this one scene I almost peed myself laughing, "your pink thong with the bows? It's trashed." Oh. My. God. She cast her eyes back to his wound as the heat in her face came back tenfold. "I didn't see the clothes on the floor and accidently stepped on them. The panties got looped around my shoe..." Not only can Nicole tease but Tony does it much worse than she does, "or checking out your a** when you're not looking." His hand slid down to said a** and she gasped, involuntarily pushing herself against him." Did I mention I loved Tony's reactions to Nicole, "Jesus effing Christ, the way she said 'daddy' was like all the right hormones mainlines straight to his d***. He shifted uncomfortably on the couch, discreetly adjusting his junk in his basketball shorts." He always reassures his girl, "baby, there are probably some guys in the world who don't like getting head..." He slid his fingers into her hair, gently kneading her scalp. "I'm not one of them. If you wanna suck my d***, I'm not gonna argue." I honestly can't wait for the next book in this series.

How can I describe how I feel about this book....I LOVED IT! I simply could not get enough of this book. It was very well written and thought out. I wanted to hear every characters story and definitely cant wait to read any book that comes out in this series. Molly McLain set it up so that you got just enough of an intro into each character that there were no spoilers but you definitely fell in love with everyone. Cheers to Molly Mclain you were able to talk about very serious issues without making the book feel dark and heavy. It was funny, extremely sexy, at times heartbreaking, tears were shed and I simply fell in love with them when they were fighting love.

Tony Dunn was single and ready to mingle until one day his life gets twisted and turned upside down when he finds out he has a daughter from a women he has not seen or heard from in over 10 months. With a new project he is working on that could change his life he needs a baby sitter pronto. He post an add and in walks the sexy Nicole Hodges

Nicole Hodges is in River Bend temporarily to settle all of her Grandmothers affairs due to her death. Nicole thought that everything would be easily resolved and then she would be on her way to a new job and a new life. Like all of the best laid plans things go crazy when Nicoles' car brakes down and she has no money to fix it. What is a girl to do when she is down on her luck and trying to get to her dream job? She finds a temporary job! Luckily for her Tony makes her an offer she can not refuse

FOUR 'I'LL FIGHT FOR YOU' STARS!

I loved this sweet and sexy story. Tony is a single dad to his infant daughter, Brianna. Nicole is just passing through River Bend to finalize her grandmother's estate on the way to her much anticipated fresh start in Chicago.

Neither of them is looking for a relationship, but somehow they find exactly what they didn't know they needed in each other. Tony is such a good dad, a really great guy, and he's killing himself raising Bri on his own. Nic is a pediatric nurse, she has issues with controlling men, and Tony and Bri bring out all of her nurturing instincts. There is an undeniable, combustible chemistry between them. Try as she might, Tony is just too irresistible and eventually Nic succumbs to the crackling passion between them. But while Tony opens up to her, Nic holds back emotionally in an attempt to protect herself and soften the blow of her inevitable departure. Tony realizes that he's got to let her go if he has any hope of something permanent with Nic, and so he does and Nic leaves for Chicago.

Does Nic realize what she lost? Does she return to River Bend and Tony and Bri before he gives up in her? Will Tony welcome her back if she does return? Read this very well written, sweet and steamy addition to the talented Molly McLain's River Bend series to find out.

Excellent!! Nothing sexier than when a tough rugged man is brought to his knees by his love for his baby. In this wonderfully written story you can feel the love and frustration through the pages. Wild man Tony Dunn is now living the single father life and he loves his daughter with all he is but he could use a break or two to make things easier. Nicole Hodges is on her way to start her life over. She's leaving behind an ex husband who even after 6 years will not leave her alone. She's in River Bend long enough to deal with her grandmother's estate then she is off to Chicago. She never intended to fall in love with sexy single dad Tony and his irresistible daughter Brianna. I couldn't put this one down and I bet neither will you. I highly recommend it!

Minus one star for the overly long should-I-shouldn't-I standoff "flirting" that gave me middle-school dance flashbacks.

Minus another star for the heroine's character during the last 10% of the book. I sort of got that she "needed to find her independence" or whatever (though if you still carry that big a chip on your shoulder after 5 YEARS of leaving a relationship, you should probably seek professional help), but her priorities still seem out of whack and a little bit opaque.

Maybe the author meant for Chicago to represent a coming-of-age sort of moment, but the metaphor fell flat because Nicole never actually learned anything or grew from her actions despite causing Tony so much pain!

Nice 💋

I love reading about single dad and nanny books so this book is right up my alley. This is a small town romance too which makes it even better. Nicole is trying to start new buy she has to take care of something first. She is amazing, pretty, smart, and a little sassy. She swore off men until she gets to her new place. Tony is looking for a babysitter. He is sexy, sweet, smart and dedicated. He is dedicated to his baby. This is my first time reading .Molly books and I love it. It was really easy to learn her way with words. I just wish we get to see Tony and Nicole like a few months later or years. It will put the cherry on top. Amazing work Molly McLain!

Aww! Tony and Nicole - so good!

Book two in this series is just as entertaining as the first one.

In book one, Tony was just beginning his journey as a single dad. Nicole was on her way to fulfilling her career goal, when life dropped her into his world.

I really appreciated Nicole's vision of what she wanted for herself. Unfortunately, she did not count on her feelings to develop so quickly for both Tony and Brianna. These two characters have steamy scenes and addictive chemistry between them.

This is very entertaining and I found myself at the end of this book too soon for my liking. I will certainly be reading more in this series!

Gripping Emotions

Nicole is trying to figure out who she truly is after the last 12 years. Tony is trying to a better version of himself after having his world turned upside down. Their attraction is instant and red hot, but unfortunately neither is ready for anything long term. Will they over come their inner struggles or will they walk away? The way the emotions and characters are written pull you in and hold on tight.

River Bend romance

I loved this book. I stayed up way past my bedtime just to keep reading to see what would happen next. I pictured a sweet tiny town much like my hometown mixed with another small town and could practically watch every scene in this book.

The heat between them also made it a real page turner. I couldn't wait to see what would happen once she moved to Chicago and it did not disappoint....

good book!

I really enjoyed reading Can’t Get Enough by Molly McLain I guess I read this book out of order as I just noticed it’s book 2 in the River Bend series. I will go back and read book 1 because this book was so good! It was your perfect love story. It had a sexy single dad and a hurt emotionally by her ex beautiful and smart nurse. They had to go through some intense times to make it to their Happy Ever After! Molly McLain is a very talented author.

Oh my heart

There isn't anything hotter than a single dad with his baby girl. Tony was new to the single dad life, one he didn't know about. Nicole was running from life. These two are going to steal your hearts. Little Brianna is a bundle of cuteness.
