Two former camp counselors whose hearts remained entwined reunite to face their unspoken feelings and the secret that divided them in this soul-stirring second-chance romance about finding the courage to claim what fate had always intended, from the bestselling author of Somebody’s Husband.
One summer bound them. One secret divided them. One reunion could change everything.
As teenagers, Summer Knight and Echo Abara spent one unforgettable summer as camp counselors. Beneath sun-soaked days and starry nights, their bond deepened from easy friendship into something more—an unspoken love neither dared confess. Life pulled them in different directions, yet their souls remained tethered by time, distance, and a shared secret.
Neither has forgotten their connection—or that summer that changed everything. When a reunion brings them back together, their lives collide once more, stirring long-buried emotions and unanswered questions. Summer and Echo must confront not only their unvoiced feelings but also the burden of their shared secret—one that tore apart their friendship and made them question the very meaning of love and trust.
Will they find the courage to embrace what’s always been between them? Or will the truth they’ve guarded destroy their second chance?
Summer’s Echo completely pulled me in! I loved the level of drama—it was perfect for me, just enough to keep me on the edge of my seat without feeling overwhelmed. Summer and Echo’s story is the kind that stays with you long after you close the book. Their summer together as camp counsellors was so vividly written—I could feel the sun on my skin and see those starry nights in my mind. The way their friendship slowly tiptoes into something more, with all the tension and unspoken feelings, is handled beautifully. I was totally invested in their reunion, rooting for them while also wanting them to confront that secret that’s been keeping them apart. Robbi Renee strikes the perfect balance between heartfelt romance and just the right amount of tension—it never felt melodramatic, but it definitely kept me hooked. What I really appreciated was how real their connection felt. It wasn’t just a swoony summer fling; it was a bond that lingered through time, distance, and life’s curveballs. By the end, I was smiling, tearing up a little, and so ready to hug these characters through the pages. This book is pure escapism with heart, and I can see myself coming back to it again and again. If you love a story with sun-soaked vibes, lingering tension, and romance that makes your heart skip a beat, Summer’s Echo is a must-read!
I was beyond invested in this book. Robbi Renee doesn’t disappoint with this one. I loved the flash backs telling their story and why they are the way they are. What their fears were. It was a cute (spicy) love story that I honestly could read again and again. I could feel all the emotions radiating off the page is the best way to explain it. Highly recommend this one.
Also Wesleigh Siobhan and Winston James narration is TOP TIER!!!!!! It don’t get no better than that.
This book drew me In. I appreciated the writing and how she had the main characters find their way to each other in the right time for Summer to find herself, confidence and get back to her true love.
