Search and rescue and love…
Tracking an escaped convict!
When a sexual predator escapes from prison, US Marshal Raine Whitman is determined to find him. But when the evil man kidnaps her young niece, Ginny, Raine is desperate for help. When her FBI colleague suggests Justin Sullivan and his K9 Stone, she gratefully accepts, knowing time is of the essence.
Justin has never tracked a convicted killer, but he doesn’t hesitate to head into the Bighorn Mountains on horseback, with Raine. His K9, Stone tracks their quarry, but all too soon, the trail goes off in two different directions. They need to find Ginny, especially if the convict has left the eleven-year-old to fend for herself. But they can't allow this man to harm another innocent victim. Will they find Ginny and the escaped killer, before it’s too late?
What an awesome read as it involves Raine, a US Marshal, and Justin, one of the younger Sullivan siblings, searching for Raine's eleven year old niece who has been kidnapped by an escape convict. Scent of Evil is fast-paced with lots of action, danger, and unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed that some chapters are from Ginny's POV. Great romantic suspense story that also includes age gap.
Raine is a U.S. Marshal tracking an escaped pedophile who immediately kidnaps her young niece Ginny who had gotten him put in jail originally. Justin arrives with his K-9 Stone to help track them. It is a race to keep up with them, always seeming to be one step behind the bad guy. Can they find and save Ginny before he does something to her? Can they catch him and put him back in jail? Read this to find out, but don't start it later in the day as you can't put it down! I am way past my bedtime right now!
The pace is breakneck and the tone is intense with an action oriented storyline that has a few kisses but no steam. The characters are vivid and engaging. The Christian ideals are shown through prayer and some discussion. The only problem that I had is how quickly they fell in love and how quickly it ended. I know that extreme situations move that along faster, but this seemed more quick than usual. Maybe that is just me. You can read the stories separately, but will get the most out of them if read in order.
I'm so grateful there are people who don't shy away from putting away these awful criminals who prey on children in a despicable manner. They are the lowest of the low in my opinion! When a convicted pedophile escapes prison, US Marshal, Raine Whitman will stop at nothing to track him down, even if she must ride a horse alongside Justin Sullivan and his K9 Stone who is a fantastic tracker. Raine can ride a horse but isn't that accomplished but will do anything when she finds out this scumbag has kidnapped her niece, Ginny. I can't imagine how scary that would be. I love reading about these amazing dogs and their ability to track down people. Stone can sniff out a criminal or a lost girl in the mountains, even when there is a forest fire going on! I loved Justin and Raine's story. I especially enjoy some of the characters from previous stories in this series popping up to help out! This author writes wonderful series, and I enjoy the characters she creates, especially families like the Sullivans. Up next is Trevor's story!
Ah! Raine and Justin are such an unexpected couple, but they are perfect together. Both fiercely protective of the innocent, of animals and of each other. Neither one is looking for, nor wants a relationship but they cannot stop the fall and the intense hunt for the young girls, the chase of a fugitive and the race for their lives when danger is literally nipping at their heels, all remind them that life can be short and they need to grab every second of happiness they can. One of the best in the series and definitely one of my favourites!
Raine and Justin are the featured characters in the 7th book of the Sullivan series. Raine's niece was taken captive for the second time by a criminal named Decker. He escaped prison and returned to pursue his profile says Justin arrived in the scene with his K-9 to help find the missing girl. It's a good suspense novel.
This story has it all - strong, independent men and women, dogs and horses; what's not to love. I really enjoyed these siblings and their dogs and would like to meet them all and follow along on a search.
They were were looking for a kidnapped young girl. Raine knew about theSullivan’s K-9 unit but had never worked with them before. Once you start reading this book you will not be able to put the book down. Until the end. Enjoy
I love smart dog stories! It took a bit, and I enjoyed the ride, but I did figure out a big part of the mystery. Nope, I won’t give any spoilers. The book is great, and I recommend it and any others to everyone! And yes, I just ordered the next installment!
This segment of the Sullivan family K9 Rescue is one of the best stories. So far I have read 5 of this series and have already started the next one. They are a fast read because you can’t put them down..lol. Enjoy!
This book was very fast moving. I love the way Laura writes especially how she brings her faith out with her characters. It’s so awesome to read these books with so much going on and without bad language to contend with!
I read for entertainment and enjoyment. For me, reading about chasing a pedophile is not enjoyable at all. I enjoyed the action and the characters, but the darkness of the subject was not for me.
Another pulse racing entry into this excellent series by Laura Scott. This one dives into a world that is all too prevalent these days.. the world of secual predators. When Raine Whitman's niece is kidnapped by an escapee, she doesn't hesitate to reach out for help. Justin Sullivan and his K9 Stone join her in the search to not only find Ginny, but take down the predator and put him back into prison where he belongs.
I love ❤️ the cover. I enjoyed the seriousness of this book's storyline. I enjoyed the action in this story. I enjoyed the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. Raine's character was okay. I enjoyed Justin's character. I loved ❤️ Stone 🐕, he was adorable. I enjoyed the ending.
