A little about me... I am, at the time of writing this, almost thirty and still living in Swindon, where I was born, raised, and hoping to escape one day. I am a dork through and through. I fill my days with audiobooks, Pokémon cards, movie watching and just general nerding about, whilst doing my day job and dreaming up stories that fill up my phone's note pages.
I have been a reader on and off throughout my life, I remember reading the famous five as a kid, moving on to Jaqueline Wilson novels (all of them), then my first dabble in romantasy with Twilight, Fallen, Shiver and then after a break in my adult life I come back hard reading everything BookTok had to offer starting of course with ACOTAR. Without realising it, these stories guided me through life, building expectations for what I might want to achieve and possibly could, and helped ignite a love of storytelling within me.
The Lovers Arcana is my debut novel, a paranormal romance with dark themes and a little spice. I wrote this book in a bad time of my life, struggling with my mental health after a sudden redundancy, and it was an amazing creative outlet in my free time, but it is also a story I fell in love with exploring the themes of difficult relationships and the dark side of love.
Writing this brief description of myself may have been the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but hopefully, you've gained a little insight into who I am, and I hope you enjoy my book(s).
What a story this was. I got this from a friend. I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this as much as I did. The storytelling was beautifully written. It was such a quick and easy read. I felt a lot of emotions during this story. True dedication to death, loss, grief, love and some darker topics were explored exquisitely. One of my favourites of this year so far by a mile!
What a book! Such a unique concept which had me hooked from the beginning. The writing was quick paced and managed to get me out of my reading slump! That ending 😱 I will definitely be picking up more books from this author 😁
I enjoyed this book so much. I'm not a huge reader, but I couldn't put this book down. The main character is relatable, the love interests are desirable, and the plot kept me guessing. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the genre. incredible work!
I chose this as a chill read after completing a long series and I'm so glad I did, the main character was relatable, the twists and turns this book took had me holding on and the emotions I felt while reading were hard to control, definitely recommend.
I very much enjoyed this book and couldnt put it down. The characters were complex but in a relatable way. Very well written and I wont spoil the twist but it was good.
Wanting to vary my genres, I figured where better to start than a romance written by a fellow indie author. I was a bit sceptical at first, but soon found myself engrossed in a tragic story with good character work. I suspect there is plenty of the author in the very endearing protagonist. The sex was sexy and used sparingly, which did not distract from the plot. It doesn't overstay its welcome and is well-paced. A great debut for a talented author who clearly enjoys what she writes.
I read this book in 2025 and really enjoyed it. The main female character is relatable and there is just the right amount of suspense to keep you turning the page. The ending came from nowhere and has left me wanting more. Can't wait to read more novels from Kim.
Loved this! The storyline gripped me from the start and the twist and turn of the ending had me guessing to the last pages! Great storytelling, relatable characters and a sprinkling of spice… so good! Highly recommended!
