Bon, depuis que j'ai découvert Gia Cobie, une spécialiste de romantic suspense, je n'en rate aucun et j'avoue que le dernier est encore meilleur que le précédent que j'ai lu. Pfffffiouuuuuu elle me surprend jusqu'au bout!
Bien que j'attendais la suite de sa série "Blade and Arrow Shadow Team ", elle a lancé une nouvelle série "Fox & Falcon Securities" dont le tome 1 "Redeeming Rogue" est plus que réussi et elle est visiblement en train d'écrire le 2 sur Knight, le meilleur ami de Rogue (le héros du tome 1) Il s'agit des surnoms qu'ils avaient à l'armée et ils étaient tous dans les forces Delta (l'élite de l'armée américaine, une fois encore)
Il s'agit d'une romance avec un double point de vue et nous commençons par celui de Sofia, une jeune femme qui possède sa propre agence d'enquêtes (elle est donc détective privée) et elle se rend chez son premier amour qu'elle n'a pas vu depuis 18 ans, Nico mais malheureusement, avant qu'elle ne l'ait vu, elle est brutalement attaquée et presque battue à mort dans une rue juste à côté de son immeuble. Quand elle se réveille à l'hôpital, elle ne sait plus pourquoi elle est allée le voir (commotion et perte de mémoire partielle) et tous deux semblent enc colère l'un contre l'autre ; tous deux s'accusent de quelque chose qui a mis fin à leur histoire alors qu'ils semblaient fous l'un de l'autre quand ils étaient au lycée. On va donc chercher à comprendre ce qui s'est passé et surtout pourquoi elle voulait le voir autant d'années après et qui lui en veut au point de chercher à la tuer? Or, quand elle échappe de justesse à une nouvelle tentative d'assassinat (enfin, c'est lui qui l'empêche), il ne peut que laisser son instinct parler (et son amour pour elle qui semble ne pas avoir totalement disparu!) et lui proposer de venir vivre chez lui, le temps qu'elle se remette et qu'ils trouvent pourquoi elle venait le voir... Mais il y a des non-dits, des colères qui menacent d'exploser après 18 ans, des secrets et surtout des menaces, alors comment se parler et reconstruire quelque chose? eh bien, vous le saurez en lisant cet excellent premier tome qui nous tient en haleine jusqu'au bout et en reprenant le début pour chroniquer ce livre, je me suis aperçue de détails qui ont leur importance pour la suite (une fois qu'on sait! ) bravo...
J'espère que quelqu'un va s'intéresser à elle et la traduire en français.

This is a well written action-packed story, with found family, friendships, emotions, danger, suspense, intrigue, mystery, tension, secrets, enemies / lovers, forced proximity, vulnerability, redemption, romance, second chances, revelations, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted and unpredictable, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Sofia and Nico were first loves, until they were beset by lies and betrayal, and they broke up. She's now a PI and he owns and runs a private security company, so he's really the man for her to see when she has questions about her current case. But now she's woken up in the hospital with no memory of the past couple weeks, and Nico's...here in the hospital with her looking all concerned. She's not sure what happened, but she definitely does not want to go stay with Nico while his team try to figure out what happened. He broke her heart once, she doesn't want to be around him again and be forced to remember it all, or even worse, give him a chance to break it again.
Nico always believed what he was told back then when (why) he and Sofia broke up. He knows she lied, so why the hell did she come to see him now? And more significantly, why was she attacked, not once, but twice, so now is under his protection? He may still be mad she lied to him, but there's no way he's going to let her go home and be hurt again. He and his team will find out who's after her and why, then they'll go their separate ways and be out of each other's lives just the way it's been for almost the past two decades.
What a second chance! Full of suspense and twists, especially the big one, and an emotional connection that had never severed, just grew stronger while they had been apart. Sofia is my favorite part of this story - she's smart, strong, and a pure survivor. She went to the man who had broken her heart, because she knew he could help her. It's not everyone that would do that for answers, but Sofia's tough, strong and always wanting to do the right thing. I admit I wasn't sure if Nico was going to be my favorite, but he definitely redeemed himself in short time. I love how protective he is of not just Sofia, but with all the people he loves. His found family is amazing, and they quickly welcomed Sofia into their circle. I can't wait for more of them, this is a great start to what I know is going to be an equally exciting new series.

A simply riveting read, two childhood sweethearts are split up but lies and now Sophia life is on the line
Sophia had not seen Nico for eighteen years ever since the night her life had changed forever, accused of theft prior to her graduation and entry to college so that she could attain her dream job which was to work for CIA and Nico was going to study computer programming and science at the same college.
She had reached the building that Nico operated his business from but he had been out so had gone to a diner to wait for half an hour but on the way, she had been attacked by two masked attacker who had beaten her and left her with a head injury, only her fight back and alarm had saved her.
Nico had been horrified when he saw Sophia lying injured after she had come to see him, then in the hospital had been attacked again and nearly killed and she has lost her memory and cannot even tell him why after so many years Sophia who is a Private Investigator with her own small business is unable to tell him why she wanted to see him?
As a third attempt taken on her life and she is staying wit Nico as it is the only place he believes he can keep her safe from harm, unfortunately it seems that the offices of the Fox And Falcon Securities office that Nico started along with the members of his Delta Force team. They are all extremely loyal and more like brothers and family and Sophia finds herself coming to trust each of them they have been like big brothers that can kill if necessary.
As the case begins to unravel and the past comes back to haunt this couple that have obviously never really every been able to love anyone else it becomes apparent that something fishy is relating to the case and as Nico investigates, he is horrified by hi findings.
I have to say that the characters and the lot have been beautifully written and it keeps you guessing right to the very last page and guessing what is going to happen with Sophia and Nico and if they will find their happy ever after,
I do not want to spoil this read for others by giving away too much about the plot but I do guarantee that once you begin reading it is impossible to put down until you reach the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This book had me hooked from the very first page and did not let go.
Redeeming Rogue is everything I love in a romantic suspense. It is emotional, intense, and packed with just the right amount of mystery to keep you flipping pages way past when you should be sleeping. I went into this expecting a second chance romance, but what I got was so much deeper.
Sofia completely pulled me in. Waking up with no memory, knowing something terrible has happened but not knowing who to trust or why she went back to the one man who broke her heart… it was so gripping. You can feel her confusion and vulnerability, but also her strength underneath it all. She is not weak, not even close, and I loved watching her piece everything together.
And Nico… this man had me in a chokehold. The way he steps in to protect her without hesitation, even with all the history between them, says everything. You can feel the regret, the love that never really went away, and the way he is determined not to lose her again. He is protective in that intense, quiet way that just hits so hard.
Their dynamic is full of tension, history, and unresolved emotions. This is not an easy reunion. It is messy, painful, and layered with years of hurt, but that is what makes it so real and so satisfying. The forced proximity only adds to that slow build of trust and reconnection, and when those walls start to come down, it is everything.
The suspense element was so well done. The attacks, the secrets, and the constant feeling that something bigger is going on kept me on edge the entire time. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something else would happen and pull me right back in.
I also loved the found family aspect with the security team. It added another layer of depth and made me even more excited to see where this series is going next.

Sophia and Nico are two young lovers in high school, but questionable things happen and they break up. Not seeing each other for 18 long years before Sophia begins to reach out to Nico to try to ask questions about a case she is working on. Unfortunately, before she can ask she is attacked and is unable to remember what she was going to ask him. Nico just happens to be passing by and stops the attack against her and follows her to the hospital. Both are filled with conflicting feelings and the years between them have not answered those important why questions nor quelled the desires.
Nico stops another attack at the hospital and insists she come to his secure home and recover. He continues to believe what his family has told him as to why Sophia left, but the story over time begins to have some questions he is not ready to answer nor can he answer. He follows his training and gets to the bottom of them after a difficult talk with his father.
The book is another just one more chapter and I’ll eat lunch or go to bed. It was a 2-day read as usual and some twists and turns that are not the direction, I thought the book would go. But I loved the story, so the directions are just fine. It’s always a good story to read when the two finally figure out that the years gone do not matter as much as the years ahead. The times they will spend together making memories are far better and more precious than those that have passed.
Of course, it never hurts to have a beautiful sexy lady who captures the mind, body, and soul of a good-looking man to read about. Does make the pages fly by and the only one more chapter tonight seem feasible. Highly recommend this book and all of Gia’s books they bring tears of sadness and joy and what more do you want from a good story?

Redeeming Rogue is book 1 in the brand new Fox and Falcon Securities series by Gia Cobie. I was honored to receive an ARC of this book and I absolutely loved it! Fox and Falcon Securities is a brand new series with a brand new team taking place in New York City and I am so here for it. Book 1 follows Sophia and Nico (the creator of Fox and Falcon). Once upon a time, Nico and Sophia were young and in love and thought they would be together forever. A tragic set of circumstances led them each to think they were betrayed by the other and they went their separate ways. Now, eighteen years later, Sophia shows up at Nico's door in the city only to be attacked before she can meet with him. Nico learns of an attack near his building and is shocked to see Sophia is the victim. What's worse is that Sophia has lost her short term memory as a result of the attack and has no idea what brought her to Nico. She of course remembers their past and the pain of their split, but she has no idea what led her to his doorstep. Yet what is crystal clear is that she is in danger and Nico, despite past hurts, vows to protect her and he brings her back to his apartment. He and his team vow to keep her safe as they try to uncover what danger is lurking. This book was full of page turning suspense, I simply could not put it down. The emotional romantic story between Sophia and Nico was also so compelling, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what happened in their past and if they would have a future together. This was a beautiful second chance love story and I absolutely loved it. This was an incredible first book in a brand new series and I cannot wait to see what's next for Fox and Falcon Securities.

I think this one has to be my favorite read so far by Gia. I started it late at night and I told myself just one more chapter and the next thing I knew it was 3:30 in the morning. I didn't want to put it down. I was zoned in! There's tension, secrets, betrayal, and romance. Definitely recommend reading.
Sofia's first love broke her heart, and she hasn't been the same since. She never understood why he abandoned her like he did. She was not guilty of the crime they charged her with, and it broke her heart that he thought she would do something like that. After she was released, she moved away, and they didn't see each other for years. Then Sofia goes to his place, but before she can talk to Nico, she is attacked and washed up with no memory as to why she went to his place.
Nico has a security business and was on his way home when he sees flashing lights in front of his place. He never expected to see his ex, let alone see her hurt. He goes to the hospital to check on her and to see why she came to see him, only to find out she doesn't remember. Then someone makes another attempt to take her life and Nico makes it his mission to protect her. Even if she broke his heart and betrayed him, little did he know she wasn't the one who betrayed him. An absolutely exciting beginning to this new series! Sofia Shaw suffered through a traumatic experience during her teen years. Now, years later, she has decided to contact the boy she loved, now a man, to ask why? Maybe travelling to see him, unannounced, was foolish, but here she is. Before she can see Nico Parisi, she is mugged and rushed to the hospital. Who could have attacked her and why? Nico arrived home to find a police scene only to learn that his former girlfriend, Sofia, is being taken to a hospital. He has no idea why she was here after so many years. At the hospital there is a second attempt on her life. Awakening, Sofia has no idea why she came to see him, but now living in his home, perhaps she’ll remember why she felt the need to contact him. Nico, as the owner of Fox & Falcon Security, along with his former Delta Force teammates, vows to protect her. Hopefully she will recover her memories of that night. Gia Cobie has become one of my favorite authors. Redeeming rogue was absolutely a phenomenal book. It is the first book in the fox & falcon security series. This book right here is top tier.

I always enjoy Cobie’s stories. She does a good job of mixing the suspense & action elements with the more emotional ones. Here we get a couple with a very believable second chance at love, as long as they can keep Sophie alive :)
The danger that she’s in gives Nico & Sophie the necessary reason to spend time together. And Cobie does a good job of giving us bits and pieces of Sophie & Nico’s history, as well as how it affects their interactions today, resolving it in a satisfying way that gives them an opportunity to develop a new relationship. That danger is also resolved in a satisfying way (although there is a little gray area toward the end that I’m not sure how I feel about, tho I’m betting it’ll play out in the series), with a mystery that kept me going and in my feels.
It’s the first story in a new series and really only focuses on Nico & Sophie, with a little bit of an intro to his friends and F&F Securities. Based on it & the ending, we can probably expect similar stories to what we’ve seen from other series set in this world. This was my first read by the author and definitely won't be my last one. It was also the first in a new series. I really enjoyed the relationship that was portrayed by the author between Nico & Sofia that progressed throughout the story. It definitely had suspenseful moments but combined with romance, it was such a heartfelt story. Can't wait to see what comes next!
Sofia is on her way to someone that she hasn't seen for years but when she's attacked, she ends up in hospital. When Nico finds out that Sofia was looking for him, he's intrigued, as it has been so long they've seen each other but Nico has a feeling that there's so much more to the story. There has been a lot of things that happened between them in the past and there's a hurdle between them that they have to overcome but Nico is determined to keep her safe as it's a clear there's still someone after her. While they are trying to figure out what is going on, Nico finds out the truth what happened years ago. A lot is going on around them and slowly they are figuring out what is happening but it'll be a hard truth for them. Through it all, they find their way back to each other but will it all work out in the end?...

Redeeming Rogue is the first in a new series Fox & Falcon Securities by Gia Cobie. This new series starts off with a bang and you will not be able to put it down. This second chance love story will grab you heart and soul as the storyline and characters are intensely enticing. How would you feel if the last 18 years of your life were based on a lie that affected your future as you know it. Sofia and Nico have spent the last 18 years blaming each other for a lie that led them to separate. When Sofia goes to see Nico after all these years she is attacked and left with no memory of the attack or the reason for her visit. The author slowly builds the current timeline with flashbacks to the past and they begin to question the events18 years ago and why they happened. The chemistry is off the chart with Nico being protective and Sofia rehabilitating from her injuries. As Sofia continues to be in danger the suspense and questions lead the couple to break down the past bit by bit and the conclusion is shocking and heartbreaking. Imagine placing your trust in the one person who should have your back and realizing they are not the person you thought. This book is intense, succinct and the pacing keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I can not wait for the next book in the series.

This was a good book about coming to terms with events from the past and what certain people will do to keep their secrets safe.
Sofia Shaw is on her way to see her ex from high school, Nico, when she is attacked and ends up in the hospital with a concussion and no idea about why she was headed to see him. Soon it's apparent that someone is after her but she has no idea why and who she could have angered so much in her job as a PI.
Nico Parisi owns a security firm and has never forgotten Sofia even though she betrayed him and his family by stealing from them in high school and then disappearing. Yet when he discovers that she has been attacked after coming to see him he knows something is up.
As Sofia and Nico begin to gradually learn to trust each other, what unravels is a mystery shocking to both of them. Can Nico keep Sofia safe from who is after her and will Sofia remember why she came to see NIco in time?
This was a good book and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the revelations in the book! It was a great mystery. The book heated up pretty fast once Nico and Sofia decided what they wanted with each other.
I will definitely be continuing on with this series!

Gia has once again brought an amazing story of suspense, mystery, danger, and steamy romance. Nico and Sofia were high school sweethearts who had their lives torn apart by lies, accusations and betrayal. 18 years later Sofia is on his door step wanting to know the truth but something happens to her that puts her in danger. Wil Nico be able to keep her safe and figure out not only what is going on now but what happened 18 years ago?
I absolutely loved this one. It is the first one in the Fox and Falcon Securities series and Gia started this series off with quite the bang. It is a gripping, engaging, page turning, gritty, addictive storyline that I read in one setting. But this is nothing new when it comes to any books from her.
You will get romantic suspense, a military romance, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, touch her and die vibes and long kept secrets. Everything that you could possible want in an amazing storyline along with unexpected plot twists. I absolutely loved Nico and Sofia and their story of redemption.

Redeeming Rogue is the first book in the Fox and Falcon Securities series. I have to say, it's off to a great start. This is a second chance romance, where both parties have serious trust issues due to outside forces manipulating events. Nico and Sofia were high school sweethearts. They had their whole future together planned. However, a month before graduation Sofia is accused of theft. She is sure Nico will come to her and verify her innocence. When he never showed up, she is heart broken and devastated. She is given an ultimatum: leave the city and Nico behind, or go to prison. Fast forward 18 years. Sofia is a private investigator who has questions for the one person she never wanted to see again. She's attacked and wakes up in the hospital with no memory of why she is there, and Nico is by her bedside. What follows is a dizzying series of events and revelations that changes everything. Full of twists and turns, the road to their HEA is not easy. Will they succeed in overcoming the mountain of obstacles standing between them and their HEA? Get this book and find out. A new series with lots to grab a hold of. A second chance romance full of emotions, suspense, lies and betrayal but most importantly forgiveness and understanding.
Nico and Sofia were first loves torn apart by the people who are supposed to protect you. Sofia found her life changing before her eyes as she had to give up everything she dreamed of. Having to leave without talking to Nico was one of the hardest things she had done. Against odds, she found her way to finishing school and finding a job helping people still.
Nico has returned from the military and created a business with his team of delta men. It has been more successful than any of them ever imagined. So when they find themselves helping their leader look into things of the past, find out who is after Sofia.
Nico never imagined the things he uncovers in the wake of his investigations. Will he do what is right? Can these two find their way back to what they had before or will the hurts of the past be too much of a hurdle?

In good conscience I could not finish it for fear id continuously trash it due to the spineless nature of the FMC when it came to the MMC. Sofia was the type of character who lived in perpetual denial in the hopes that if she says one thing the opposite would happen which is what she wanted to happen in the first place. She acts prideful in situations where it’s obvious that she’s in need of help so then it just looks like she being an ungrateful brat. The author’s characterization made her out to be—for lack of a better word—a loser. She made her pine for him and explicitly mentioning that she looked him up online like a stalker who can’t get over the past.
Sofia built this life outside of Nico, but all of a sudden she can’t remember how to function or communicate like an adult. I get she’s in danger with amnesia and all, but the guy is trying to help her out and she’s playing hard to get? Girl grow up.
And of course the Nico is this massively successful guy who the author just had to mention had a very active sex life. Honestly, why write women out like this as if a man is their only way out and into the good life? It’s sad.

This book was impossible to put down, I just couldn’t. What a riveting start to a new series! Heart break, betrayal but true love underneath it all.

Sophia and Josh have undeniable chemistry but so much heartbreak between them. So many emotions. I adore these 2 and how they communicate and work through their issues. So endearing 😮💨🥰
The twists and turns and suspense are absolutely perfection in this one! Loved it, can’t wait to see who the next book will be about 😏

What a fantastic start to this new series, this book manages to be both similar to and completely different to Blade and Arrow - very clever, Ms Cobie manages to keep all the best bits and create a new team in a new city.
Sofia and Nico were ripped apart in the cruelest way possible, and both were lied to at the time, so they both hold the other responsible....it costs them two decades. And then almost costs them their lives, not just once or twice, but multiple times. And the same person is behind everything... again. It could destroy them, it could rip them apart again, but it only makes them stronger. I totally fell for both Nico and Sofia, they were a really sweet couple as teenagers and they are a fierce couple, who defend each other without hesitation now. A first love that gets a second chance, they don't waste that chance, they embrace it and love like every day could be their last. A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited, I look forward to the rest of the series.

This book was very different from previous series, it was darker, complex and had some of my favourite tropes, enemies to lovers, second chance, memory loss and so much more will wow you in this story.
High school loves Sophia and Nico are torn about by external meddling, and both blame each other for the break of trust. But now Sophia is attacked close to Nico’s home whilst trying to meet up with him, but she doesn’t remember why she wanted to speak to him.
Nico protective instincts come into play and are ramped up more when things escalate. As the truth comes out can they accept, forgive and move on?
As expected, this was a page turner from the very first page, with action, angst, unexpected plot twists and forgiveness. All the emotions just hit me so viscerally with this one and it was fantastic to read, one of Gia’s best books yet, and I can’t wait for more from Fox and Falcon.

It was an incredible book that kept me engaged the entire time and always had me on the edge of my seat. I appreciated how Nico recognized the importance of discussing the past, even though he initially doubted her. I also admired Sofia's unwavering trust in Nico.

After riding the subway, she arrived at his building and spoke with the doorman, who informed her that he wasn’t home. The doorman suggested she visit a nearby diner and return later. Little did she know, she would be attacked and lose sight of her reason for wanting to see Nico.
Meanwhile, Nico was returning home from work and noticed police officers and paramedics assisting someone. Upon arriving at the building, he realized that the person was his ex-girlfriend Sofia, who had come to see him—but now he was left wondering why.

This is the first book in the new series Fox & Falcon Securities that promises to be just as exciting as all the other series that Gia has written!! Sofia's character has a strong outer shell but inside she seems almost fragile, confused about why her world has suddenly turned upside down. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Nico owns a security business and although he and Sofia have a past that feels like a huge betrayal, he feels the need to protect her at all cost. But nothing is as it seems and both Sofia and Nico have surprises that will shake their entire world! This book is a page turner that you won't want to put down. It is full of action, betrayals, romance and lots of wonderful heat! I loved Nico's team, they are just the perfect friends to have Nico's back, and pretty hilarious with their texting! I look forward to them finding their matches also. I really enjoys the first book in this series, looking forward to more!
