They've already had one child together, but never learned each other's names. Now this minotaur is going to convince her to be his wife.
Hank has always regretted the last time he saw “Rapunzel,” the woman who carried his first calf. He never asked for her real name, and he’s thought about her nonstop ever since. Then, six years later, he gets his wish for a do-over when he goes in to breed her a second time.
Phoebe likes her job as a surrogate. Ever since she got too attached to her first client, she’s learned to distance herself from her work—that is, until she's reunited with him. When Hank tells her about their son, Milo, and breaks confidentiality to give her his name, Phoebe is tempted to look him up. But she has too many responsibilities, and it risks too much heartache, to get involved with Hank’s family.
When a freak fire puts Hank and Phoebe on a real life collision course, can she really keep her distance from the single firefighter and their son?
This steamy, sweet monster romance novel follows one reluctant woman with tragic circumstances and a minotaur single dad firefighter who wants to share his life with her. It features pregnancy, breeding, a cute kid character, a bit of thrill, and a heartfelt HEA. For a full list of content warnings, visit the author's website.

Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance (Monster) Spice: 3/5🌶️ *spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre*
The Catalog: F/M, human x Minotaur, surrogacy program, forbidden romance, forced proximity, mutual pining, he’s wanted her for 6 years, single dad, grabbing him by the horns, firefighter MMC, found family
Synopsis: Hank never stopped thinking about the woman who carried his first calf, but could do nothing to find her due to the surrogacy program rules. Now, six years later, he’s back to breed her again and hopefully find a way to convince her of what he’s known all along: they belong together.
Thoughts: TLDR; An adorable and sweetly emotional monster romance featuring a Minotaur that’s been pining for his anonymous surrogate for years.
[I was able to read this early as a perk for supporting the author on Patreon, thank you, Lyonne]
I’m convinced Lyonne Riley can do no wrong. I ate this UP! First, I wanted to say that I appreciate the breadth and variability in stories and characters that Lyonne writes. I haven’t read a surrogacy romance before, and this book made me question why that was. It was incredible and I am completely obsessed with these characters.
Hank is literally the sweetest, most adoring and filthy mouthed Minotaur. I cannot get over how endearing he is with his twitchy tail and expressive ears. He’s so supportive and patient with Phoebe as she navigates the complications of their relationship. As for Phoebe, I loved the layers to her character and the surrogacy rep felt really well done. I wanted an HEA for her so bad, a chance for her to have a soft place to land away from her oppressive responsibilities.
And of course Lyonne delivered.
I cried, I clenched my thighs, I swooned for every cream pie.
Lastly, I am forever changed by the mental image of a breeding bench. I have never been more awakened.
Definitely recommend for monster romance readers, especially those that love a softer, more emotional and intimate feel!
Having read the werewolf DreamTogether novella, I was all in for smutty penny, in for smutty pound (take that however you like 😏). But this got deep (no pun intended) in a way that was so... unlike the first? I loved the complex feelings Phoebe has about motherhood; how she recognizes the difference between being a fun nanny figure for Milo vs. a parent like Hank. Hank's confession about Milo when they do the do kinda made sense. It's the time where they're the most intimate. I kicked my feet when Hank's all "I know we could be a great family if you just give me a chance 🥺". But it's not about him or Milo. Phoebe deals with unresolved abandonment issues due to her parents neglecting her and her sister, Sandra. Don't get me started on this little girl writing to her parents, asking why they left/what can she do better, only to have it returned to sender 😭. And a monster man who encourages Phoebe's therapy to work through issues he doesn't understand but wants her to without any judgement... we stan.
If past me could see me now, having the time of my reading life with these monster romances...💖💗😍 .

The DreamTogether breeding Program series is a favorite of mine from Lyonne Riley. You get a really good hit of spice in the front end of the story and then a delicious amount of pining and longing.
Our minotaur does not disappoint. There are several absolutely delectable tropes in play here along with such a caring and devoted dad. I love the found family and support system that rallies around this group of characters! By the end they are really such a beautiful family. Milo is so adorable, and how can you not fall for the dedicated dad. OH! Did I mention he is a firefighter??? Like a literal hero. Amazing!
What’s Inside? ♥️Surrogacy ♥️Size difference ♥️Single dad ♥️Adorable toddler ♥️Pining ♥️Found Family ♥️Forced Proximity
Awesome book! I am so glad to have read it! I received an early copy of this book from the author through their paid Patreon program. My opinions are my own. Thank you!
This is another spicy monster romance in the DreamTogether Breeding Program series. It’s the third installment, but each book can be read as a standalone.
Human FMC Phoebe joins the monster breeding program to earn extra money and support her sister. Her first pairing was with MMC Hank, a Minotaur who left quite an impression. Five years later, she’s requested by Hank again for a second surrogacy. Things were supposed to remain anonymous, until fate, a fire, and Hank’s mother intervene to bring them together.
This is a sweet yet steamy story with forced proximity, multiple pregnancies, and an adorable five-year-old minotaur calf. Even with the spice cranked up from page one, there’s a surprising amount of heart and character depth woven through this cozy story.
Another enjoyable addition to the series! Riley never disappoints, and I can’t wait to see what she has planned next.

⭐ARC REVIEW⭐ This blew me away, I never get tired of the stories in this series and I always wonder what Lyonne will do next to keep it interesting and THIS was it! Phoebe is not a first time carrier for DreamTogether, and we get to see her first encounter with her mysterious minotaur. A one time moment that left both her and him wanting more, but there was no chance for another encounter. A beautiful baby was born and time moved on. Many years pass and our mystery man is wanting another child and the same woman, for a second chance at the future he believes they could have. Hank puts all his hope in this opportunity, but despite their obstacles fate plays card that heats up the situation for both of them! Milo and his chaotic lovable energy is so sweet and he plays matchmaker without even realizing. I couldn't get enough of this little family, they deserve all the happiness in the world!
If you love Minotaurs and have a breeding kink, add this to your tbr.
Now I love everything Lyonne writes, so obviously, I loved this one too. However, Hank is something special. He may be my favorite MMC she's ever written??? He's just so perfect. And Milo is the sweetest little boy. His love for his cat had me smiling the biggest goofy grin.
Hank is a sexy firefighter and single father. He is still dreaming of the woman who carried his first calf. So he requests her for baby 2. Hopefully, he can convince her to give him a shot.
Phoebe works full time as an artist and is a surrogate for the second paycheck. She is carrying for her chronically ill sister and has put her life on the back burner. When she meets Hank and Milo, she knows she could fall in love with this life way too easily, and that scares her because DreamTogether requires anonymity.
It was a fun quick read. The concept of DreamTogether Breeding Program is a bit repetitive but it is still enjoyable. The smut really became an issue to me. I don't enjoy it and I genuinely do not care. So yeah I skip smut as much as possible. I look around to check if I missed dialogue or important stuff but the pure sex descriptions ? Do not care. I like that there were a few years gap between the prologue and the actual storyline because in the other book it felt really insta lovey/lust and the short time spend together felt to short to be enjoyable. Here, though they are still pretty instantly obsessed with each other, the fact that they have a 5 years old together and that they spend so many years longing for one another makes it less precipitated for some reasons. I didn't like that they loved each other without knowing anything about each other but I'm only here for the vibe so...
A woman in need of money signed up to be in this breeding program as a surrogate. Her first match turned out to be the man she fell in love with. Two kids given away later, she met up with him again. This time, he wants another kid... but this time, he wants to keep her.
Well, that's the plot. And you know me, anything to do with breeding, I'll be over that like fruit flies. Enjoyable but could be better. I can't deal with skittish heroines, guys.
4 ⭐️ Kindle - Purchased Lyonne Riley does it again! Love this series! It’s even better than the previous two, with a much deeper story/plot and characters that are well-rounded.
I read this because it was on Hoopla and I thought it was funny but honestly the writing was decent and I had a good time. It is exactly what you think it is though. But a good palate cleanser!
This was my favorite from the series so far. I blew through this in a night. It was a fun, fast read. I wasn’t sure about Phoebe at first, but I grew to like her as the book went on. She was a complicated character and had so much development. Seeing her come into her own was a delight. Hank was a man on a mission. I loved how kind he was and how he interacted with Phoebe. Together they were really cute. I recommend this whole series, but especially this one.
The best one yet IMO! Phoebe is a character going through it. she's been through a lot in her life and it's not easy to let people in. Hank the minotaur is sweet, dedicated and filthy in bed. They grow together and face challenges and come out stronger together.
THOUGHTS:
- Phoebe was a hard character to like at first but she grew on me. she's been through it, has past trauma that's never really been resolved and wasn't ready to / sure she could be a mom. you can really see her try her best, accept Milo her son and become the person Hank needs. I don't have kids yet myself but I really empathized with her anxiety about not being able to be a good mom / the anxiety of a new reality.
- Milo was such a cutie. I'm not usually a fan of kid characters in smut books but he was well done, bright, inquisitive and really added to their dynamic.
- Hank was such a good male lead. he's an excellent father, dedicated, sweet and you can really tell he puts his heart into everything. he literally saves and ends up healing Phoebe in ways you don't expect and it was so sweet to see their found family bond together and end up stronger.
- the smut was pretty good too! lots of good scenes and I love a dominant, dirty talking minotaur
- my only gripe was that it felt like Phoebe was holding out on Hank until the very end even though u now she's into him. it was a bit annoying to me that it took him almost dying to have her get over her walls and admit she loved him. I personally wish we saw her really fall for him throughout the book and move bonding / seeing her adapt to her new life
Get the tissues ready because I was fully crying when reading the ending of this book. I absolutely love the Dream Together series and anything this author writes and this was no exception! Hank and Phoebe had such a wonderful dynamic, him devoted and determined to make her stay and her walls being slowly brought down by him and their adorable calf. I usually don’t even like kids in books as main characters and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Milo! He was so vivid and adorable, it’s no surprise Phoebe fell in love with her son and his father. Who could resist a Hunky fireman who saved your life and treats you right and his adorable son who happens to be also be your son?
The spice was amazing and starts right away, all leading up to when they could finally be together outside of the program. The first time they were together and could face each other was soooo good. I loved all the bondage play, the makeshift gags and the way Hank just wanted her to warm him sometimes. I think Phoebe was a very realistic character as well, with real fears about the situation. I loved to see Hank acknowledging them and reassuring her throughout the book. I honestly think one of the best parts of the book was Milo, and see how much like Phoebe he really was. It was so sweet, spicy and heartwarming, I 100% recommend!
👀Tropes: This second chance monster romance is a dual POV novel, with a single dad and a reluctant heroine pining over each other. There's an adorable abnormal meet cute in a way and lots of emotions around a very cute kid character.
✨My Thoughts: Catch me crying on another Lyonne book why don't you. I swear, Hank and Phoebe are so sweet and so cozy. There are brief mentions of the trigger warnings above, but most just mentions. The pining the two do privately is so juicy and tempting. The best character though and the one that made me weep the most? Milo, the child minotaur and the obsession of Hank's love apart from Phoebe.
💖Quotes: "I saving you. Hold on tight." "Fuck, she's beautiful. She's beautiful, and perfect, and everything I've ever wanted in my entire life. All my years have simply been building up to this moment, when I truly saw my future wife for the first time." "Warm me a little, won't you?"
I just know DreamTogether is SICKKK of these happy couples breaking contract!! They should honestly create a second business for dating. They’d make big bucks. ANYWAYS….I absolutely adored this book! “Bred by the Minotaur” is the third and final book in the DreamTogether series and it honestly might be my favorite. It follows Phoebe and Hank, in their second chance romance and we get to read about them navigating their relationship and figuring out what exactly they want the future to hold for themselves. I adored Milo. He was such a sweet kid and had an equal amount of Phoebe and Hank in him. Side characters were definitely memorable to me such as Sandra, Phoebe’s sister, Hank’s mother, and of course the new baby, Archie. I just really enjoyed getting to read about the family’s dynamics. All in all, it was a really fun conclusion to the series but I wish there was more books.
~ “Fuck, she’s beautiful. She’s beautiful, and perfect, and everything I’ve ever wanted in my entire life. All my years have simply been building up to this moment, when I truly saw my future wife for the first time. That’s what she is. She will be- I’m certain of it now. And you know what they say about bulls. We’re stubborn fuckers.”
Can you believe this is only my second Lyonne Riley book? Seriously, after the first one I should have just binged the catalogue. (I’ll probably do that now) This was my first entry in the Dreamtogether series. (I bet you can’t guess why I started here) If you haven’t read the rest of this series, this story stood on its own. It’s incredibly steamy right off the bat but that doesn’t take away from the leads. The MCs have a great amount of depth and leave you wanting more. As a parent reading this book, I was so locked in the first time that Hank told Milo something that I’ve told my little one. Sometimes it feels like children are used as set dressing in stories. Milo is such a real character who acts exactly like you would expect a little rambunctious five year old to behave. These interactions were one of the things that really made the book come to life for me. I’m off to go order the rest of the series now and I hope you do the same!
Lyonne Riley did it again. I love this series even thought I hate pregnancy and I do t typically like reading anything to do with breeding lol I also love Minotaurs and this book just combines everything beautifully. Phoebe got a little annoying to me with her back and forth and not wanting to be with Hank, but then again if she fell right into his arms I would complain about the insta love so there’s gotta be some conflict somewhere I suppose. Milo, the kid, also wasnt terrible. Normally I can’t stand the way kids are written in books but there’s no baby talk and he doesn’t take over every scene he’s in. The ending and what the two do at the end did feel a little rushed and kinda sudden but hey it’s their day who am I to judge I guess. Can’t wait for the next couple! This books series is great!
I love a good monster romance with Minotaurs, and I absolutely devoured this book!
It was a quick, cute, and spicy read. From the first moment Hank and Phoebe got together through the DreamTogether Breeding Program, there was an instant connection between them, one neither of them forgot. Which is why 5 years later, he comes back to DreamTogether for a second calf. He is determined this time to learn who she is and do anything to make her see they are meant to be together.
Hank is so freaking sweet, thoughtful, a great dad to Milo, and has quite the dirty mouth. 🤭 Phoebe is sweet, caring, and hilarious. She has such a strong connection to Milo, and I loved their interactions.
This was such a wonderful book, and I loved these characters so much! 🥹
I've got to admit that I first picked this book because of the cover which expressed the feelings of the two MCs perfectly. I hoped the plot wouldn't let me down and it didn't.
What happens when a Minotaur who has given up on finding a partner hires a human surrogate who needs this second job to pay her mortgage and support her sick sister? Unknowingly they both feel an instant connection but that's against the rules of their agency's contract. She gives birth to his adorable son and five years later the Minotaur returns to the agency requesting her for a second calf. What happens next is both charming and hot as h*ll. I highly recommend this book! 💓🔥
I couldn’t put it down, I was just so enthralled by Hank and Phoebe’s connection.
What started as a transaction that benefited Hank, turns into a twist of fate that know one see coming. Beware of candles. Specially if you are having one on one time.
I think after the wolfman, and the dragon the third time be the charmed one and they will actually have someone that follows protocol. But the exhaspetation of the Dream Together staffed was worth the read lol.
You cannot help but root for Phoebe and Hank as they navigate contractual obligations, family responsibilities, and how they feel about each other. Phoebe was Hank's surrogate for his first calf Milo and he fell in love. Now 5 years later he requests Phoebe as his surrogate for Calf 2 and decides to break the rules of anonymity and tell Phoebe his name. Through coincidence Hank and Phoebe reconnect outside the surrogate service and begin trying out a relationship. I loved this story and believe you will too.
Lyonne Riley is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! This book was so cute! I love her unique ideas when it comes to monsters and this book was so interesting! The poor MCs had to wait over 5 years to be together yet they each were pining for each other and couldn’t forget their first interaction!
The beginning spice was so sweet and I loved Hank so much! Lyonne knows how to write a big hulking Minotaur sweetie! The way he took care of Phoebe without even knowing her was a testament to the kind of monster he was and the father he would become.
I loved that Phoebe got to overcome her childhood trauma, leaning into becoming the mom she deserved and Milo needed. She took to it so naturally, as a lot of mommies do when it comes to their kid. They both deserved that relationship!
What a sweet read with fun spice and a cute ass concept!

OMG this was so hot, I was rooting for them so hard and the tensionnnnnn. This was sweet and I'm so obsessed. half a star off though because I found the ending to be wrapped up way too quickly, like a fast forward button had been pressed and I was desperately trying to find the remote to get it back to play at a normal speed. I would have loved this book extended to flesh out the story more - but I'm greedy cause I love these two characters so much - AHHH they're so hot together!! Definitely my fave pairing from this series so far
This was such a good book, the world building was amazing. Lyonne’s monster worlds are so breathtaking that they seem so real that the monsters in this series go through a company called Dream Together so they can find a surrogate in order to have a child with as far as I can tell a human female. That the surrogacy is so hush hush secretive, that neither party can find out about the other or the contract will be terminated and can't work with said company ever again. I received a complimentary ARC from the author for a fair and honest review
I think this might be my favourite of the series so far! I ate it up so fast! Hank and Pheobe was absolutely amazing together. Hank was all in from basically the get go but it took a little bit more time for Pheobe to admit her feelings. It was hot hot hot from literally chapter one and throughout! Milo was the cutest and Pheobe's sister knitting him little slippers was funny. I hope we get more from this series!
I don’t even know how to bring all my feelings together for this one. Sweet and heartwarming but with a realness to it. This story showcased so many facets of the everyday. The ups and downs of what life can bring. It reminds us to grasp life by the horns (in Phoebe’s case, literally) and to not let the past get in the way of being happy. Hank and Phoebe’s story was not without angst but well worth it in the end.
I have been loving this series because Bred by a monster? Of course 😌
This one is definitely my favorite, it gives you a totally different perspective of the aftermath of what happens in the Company and what if the anonymity, sterility and the distance is not there… is just sex or there is a connection?
And Hank is such an amazing character, good dad, hardworking, patient but so passionate about love… I mean he felt the connection the first time and was like I’m going to marry her!
Premise sounded so intriguing and love the whole concept of DreamTogether but every single book in this series was a miss for me (read 3 books), so I won't be continuing with this series.
