About the author

Pierre Martin

15 books
Pierre Martin was born in Quimper in 1969. Doctor in modern history, he teaches at the University of Western Brittany in Quimper and Brest. A specialist in maritime history, his research focuses on the history of estuaries and coastlines from the 16th to the 18th century. Author of numerous academic and historical works, this fine connoisseur of the sources of the history of Brittany signs here his first detective novel. Keen on social history, he created the character of Jean Nédélec, an educated peddler who became an investigator during the reign of Louis XIV. The adventures of this endearing and no less insightful young Breton plunge us into the troubled world of Brittany at the end of the 17th century.
