Rate this book
How do you live an abundant life in the face of a mysterious adversary?

Born healthy, Megan Bean's life took an unexpected turn when a mysterious condition began diminishing her physical abilities one by one, baffling doctors and sending her family on a quest for answers that never seemed to come.
With raw honesty and down-to-earth wisdom, Megan shares her journey from a childhood shaped by an undiagnosed disorder to graduating from college summa cum laude. Her unique perspective offers a testament to God's faithfulness across decades, not just fleeting moments.

This isn't a story of instant healing or decisive victory. It's a powerful exploration of how God shows up even when problems persist. Whether you're grappling with chronic health issues, parenting a child with special needs, or seeking hope in difficult times, Just Megan will inspire you to find God in all moments, especially the hard ones.

This is a beautiful story, and I would expect no less from Megan, who I have been lucky enough to know and share messages with over the last eight or so years. We both have the same disease, and we both received diagnoses of RTD Type 2 after spending our childhoods as medical mysteries. Reading Just Megan brought back so many emotions good, bad, and mixed for me, but happily reminded me just how mind blowing it was to discover there was an answer after years of questions, and that there were other Megans and Taylas across the globe. I know neither of us would wish the hardships of RTD on anyone, but it is an incredible blessing to have connected with this community of fellow RTD warriors.

Just Megan is engaging, and so generous. Megan shares so much of her story and her life so far with us in these pages. I cannot imagine being brave enough to be so open and honest with all the best and worst experiences you have gone through, but Megan did and I am so honoured I got to read it. This book is healing, inspiring, honest, raw, hopeful, funny, sad, heartfelt, and genuinely very enjoyable to read. You can tell within the first few pages that Megan could easily publish a dozen more books of any genre or length if she wished, and they’d all be excellent reads.

5/5 stars, obviously. A must read for anyone with RTD or their families and friends, and anyone who wants to read a powerful memoir and brilliant debut. An absolute must read for the horse lovers of the world. (And Keith Massey, if you were to ask him, would advise a box of tissues on hand whilst reading. Here There Be Horses, Seriously. And the writing is so evocative that anyone allergic to horse dander should come prepared!)

I had the privilege of going to the same college as Megan and reading this book was like seeing the “behind the scenes” look into her heart and all the growth and preparation and struggle and grace therein. Everything she put her hands to do, she does with excellence and she’s truly a wonderful example of the joy of the Lord being her strength. Her writing is another beautiful example of this.
