His Hurricane......
Absolutely loved this book. It had everything I want in a RockStar genre read. Harley and Laney right now are two of my favorite characters from this amazing series. Like I said before I don't know how I missed this series for so long but I'm absolutely freaking loving it.
This one will pull at your heart strings for sure....what do you do when you lose the one thing that holds everyone together and so brutally too?? Some revelations are made and truths found out that are just heartbreaking. And the one they lost seems to have known what was going to happen and put little reminders and hints to each band member. Della was a angel and one that keeps on giving even when she's gone.
The storyline on this series is just amazing. You will NOT want to put your kindle down, I'm seriously devouring them. And to me that's an amazing feat on itself. So my hat is off to this amazing writer and loving her words and her world. So keep them coming. Now to leave you with my favorite line from this wonderful brilliantly written book....

I knew that Harley's book was going to be heartbreaking but still you can't help but read it anyway. My heart hurt for Harley straight off the bat, from page one you are gripped with his pain and grief. You feel empty right along with him. The truth about Della's death rips him in two and again MJ, rips your heart out and makes you feel what Harley is feeling. The pain, love and loyalty helps bring this amazing story alive, from Laney to the whole band, Harley has his support system but finds it hard to move forward. You get to feel for Laney who is slowly falling in love with Harley but knows she will never get his whole heart as it still belongs to Della but she respects that. And for that Laney is one hell of a female lead character. My stomach was in knots while feeling for Laney, she was there for Harley and he didn't fully see her, well that's what she thought. Harley's feelings for Laney was causing his guilt but he never blamed her, he just drank more. After some hard hitting truths from Chance, Harley takes to steps to heal his heart and soul. This gets him on the right track to move on with his life without Della but forward with Laney. Some things are said that make Harley see he doesn't want to waste anymore time without Laney.

I have been awaiting Harley's story since I read Liquid Regret. And I was NOT disappointed! Harley's story was just as heartbreaking as I knew it would be! The prologue alone had me crying. We find Harley while he is lost in his own world. After the shock of his life that resulted in the worst heartbreak imaginable, he is now falling into a deep depression and failing to control his addiction. Harley is lost in a darkness that he doesn't know how to escape... or if he even wants to. In this darkness he has one bright spot though, Laney.
Laney is hell bent on making sure that Harley pulls through his depression and darkness, even if she has to drag him kicking and screaming the whole way (or straddle him to get a point across).
These two have such a huge amount of chemistry that it FLEW off the pages and you can't help but root for them. :)
This book is so emotional that it had my crying over and over again. Both happy tears and heartbroken ones.
MJ Carnal has done it again and has written yet another amazingly heartbreaking tale.
I give this a glorious 5 stars! :)

If you haven't read Liquid Courage, book 1 in this series then you really should before reading this book.
From the first page you get a recap from Harley's POV on the night that Della was murdered. It draws you in and rips you to shreds. Tissues are a must.
From there you watch Harley lose his way. He falls back into old habits. Drinking and drugs keep the pain away. In his drunk moments he turns to Oksana and when he is running from the pain Lainey is there to bring him peace.
When the truth comes out as to who was responsible for the death of Della I wasn't surprised by one of them but was shocked at the other one.
This book was great and drawing you in and keeping your attention until the last page.
I did kind of find it weird the one chapter of Max's thoughts. It just seemed out of place and made no sense in this book. I could have understood it more if it was a teaser at the end of the book, but to have a chapter before the end I didn't get.

Le premier tome de cette série n’était pas parfait mais l’énergie de l’auteure et le thème très porteur d’un groupe de rock est efficace en général et ce second opus s’annonçait palpitant car il porte sur un personnage important dans le premier livre à qui il arrivait un terrible drame.
Le groupe de rock s’appelle Liquid Regret et l’auteure suit la trame assez classique de ce type de roman. Nous avons droit à pas mal tour à tour aux histoires des différents membres du groupe ce qui fait que les deux héros de ce livre ne sont pas inconnus. L’héroïne est la meilleure amie de celle du premier épisode et le héros est le guitariste du groupe, un homme sans histoire et plutôt paisible. Harley est mariée avec la femme de sa vie et est sans doute le plus calme de la bande. Mais dans le premier tome de la série, Della, son épouse va être assassinée et l’homme que ses amis connaissaient va disparaître.
Quand le second opus commence, c’est un homme au fond du trou qui a sombré dans l’alcool et a perdu le goût de vivre. Devant les regards atterrés de tous les autres, il n’en finit plus de descendre dans la dépression. Seule, Laine parvient encore à l’atteindre, ce qui n’est d’ailleurs pas rassurant du tout pour Harvey. Laine est une amie qui a toujours eu un faible pour Harvey est bouleversée parce qui lui arrive.
Ce que l’auteure réussit le mieux est de montrer un homme dévoré par le chagrin qui a perdu une partie de lui-même avec son épouse. Jamais il ne sera pareil et il est incapable de faire son deuil. Nous en verrons plusieurs stades ; l’auteure a parfois du mal à soigner les passages, les transitions, va trop vite pour souligner son évolution mais Harley est très touchant et l’attitude de Laine force le respect. Elle a accepté qu’elle serait toujours la femme arrivée après della. Il est assez rare de voir avec autant de clarté qu’il s’agit d’une seconde chance, différente, pas moins intense mais d’une autre nature. laine est touchante dans ce rôle, acceptant que son homme aura toujours eu une autre femme très aimée dans sa vie.
Il y a également la trame policière du roman. Della a été assassinée et il faut identifier le ou les coupables. C’est bien plus fragile, l’histoire demeurant assez peu crédible mais le roman n’est pas un romantic suspense et cet aspect de l’histoire n’est clairement pas ce que l’auteure recherche.
Ce second opus est vraiment différent du premier très marqué par les problèmes de Harvey. Ce petit plus d’émotion et de gravité convient très bien. Nous lirons donc la suite avec attention.

After the heartbreaking twist of fate for Griff in Liquid Courage, I knew I had to find out how his story continued. Yes, you absolutely have to read the first book in the series. Though this is a stand alone a lot of it won't make sense unless you get the back story. M.J. Carnal once again gave me a dual POV which was pulled off flawlessly. It really let me get to know the characters and grasp the emotions behind their actions.
Liquid Courage sends us back in time a bit to the fateful night when Harley's world changes. My heart hurt for him and the rest of the gang all over again. Watching his downward spiral was almost as painful as the loss he endured. But the hurt didn't stop there. Oh no, the whodunnit was revealed and while I suspected it a tiny bit, my jaw was still on the ground because it was so much more than I thought. This twist only caused Harley more pain which turned into more self destruction. Griff gets a big wake up call from one of his band mates that helps put him on back on the right track. The road to living a life that would make him happy and Dell proud. That road was named Adelaine Jones.
If I didn't already like Laney so much from the first book, then she really stole the show here. I loved how selfless she was. Somehow she managed to not only keep herself together but to be there for Griff as well, her feelings be damned. She knew she wanted more than he could offer but was willing to take what she could get. Turns out her feelings weren't one sided. Laney was just what Griff needed. She was there to help him out of the darkness. She gave him a reason to see the light again, a reason to feel something besides pain and anger and grief. She gave him hope that he could get through the need to be numb. I loved that their relationship was founded on friendship but became something so much more. And that Laney didn't try to replace Della in Griff's heart. She knew she couldn't and didn't want to (another reason I adore her). She helped Griff honor and cherish his memories with her while still making new ones.
Of course, the rest of the band, Liquid Regret, is present in this book. I loved the comradeship between these characters. They really are a family. It was nice getting to see how the actions of one impacted everyone else. And how they all pulled together to help each other get through the hardest moments. Everyone matters and they all become the strength when someone else needs it. They're supportive yet honest and aren't afraid to call each other out when it needs to happen. There was also a great lead into the next book in the series which will feature Max.

After finishing Liquid Regret I absolutely couldn’t wait to read Harley’s story. I wanted to see where MJ Carnal would take Harley and the band. With the recent loss for the entire band and especially Harley it was very hard to picture just what could come next that would help to keep the band going and Harley from hurting himself or someone else.
MJ Carnal does an amazing job in this second book of the series; Harley’s story is amazing, especially because the story encompasses the entire band. We get to see how they come together after a great loss and come out the other side a stronger band.
This is a story of loss, revenge, rocking hard, finding new love, and finding out that it is ok to continue living!!!!
As the book begins we are reminded exactly what state of mind he is in as well as the other band members. The revelations that are discovered throughout this book pretty much blow the reader away; such as, finding out who committed the crime (that really caught me off guard), the new connections that are made between Laney, Harley and Max, and some of the back story that we get in regards to Dell’s thoughts and feelings about Laney, make this book an AMAZING read.
There is still so much more to learn about the band and its members and I can’t wait until MJ Carnal tells the stories.
I liked that in this book we got to see a glimpse into Jonathon and just how much he does care for his band family.
I can’t wait to see what secrets lay behind Max, from the snippets that we get during this book; I believe there is another whole side of Max that we have yet to meet.

Oh, my my my.
Harley had it hard in Liquid Regret, but things get even harder for him in his own book. I was surprised that his story was second up, in what is becoming a top favorite series for me.
After what Harley went through in Liquid Regret, I would have thought his story would have been one of the last, but it follows on perfectly from Mia and Damian's story, and just wouldn't have worked out any other way.
Harley has fallen off the wagon in a big way after the lost of his much loved wife Della, he sees no hope for himself, and is barely hanging on. The band are all there for him, but they all seem helpless until Chance decides he's had enough and gives Harley his pedigree! Something stirs inside Harley, and with Rachel's help, he is admitted to rehab.
There is a lot goes on in this book, and it is a very touching story there is a lot of growth, especially for Harley, but all the band members grow and learn. The group stick together through thick and thin, and are always there for each other. Max and Harley both holding secrets for each other.
“It’s about fucking time you two came out of my closet.”
I'm so pleased Max's book is up next, I don't think I could wait any longer to read his story! Joshua also intrigues me, and I'm sure his story is going to be a cracker.
Roll on the rest of the year, and what I'm sure will be three fantastic books!

Liquid Courage is Book2 in Liquid Regret series and like other MJ Carnal books, I was eagerly awaiting it's release! At the end of book one we are left with the departure of Della and the band is left to pick up the pieces of Harley's fractured spirit. Laney has been a fixture with the band as Mia's best friend and quickly became family even though she has not been connected directly to any of the men.
Can these men heal and move on after Della? Who is responsible for her death? Will that news be the closure they need or just another stab wound? Will Laney be the missing piece that was there all along? Will Harley allow another person to love him and allow himself to love someone when his soulmate is gone? And of course, the "skip to the good part" sex scenes are RAW, EMOTIONAL and HOT. Ever cry during or after sex? Yeah, these are those moments.
I have to admit, I cried like a baby through most of this book. MJ poured such emotion into this book, my heart bled with Harley and Laney and the band. When Joshua was angry and looking for answers, I wanted to punch someone too. Master storytellers are those who not only have good storylines, but those that make you feel. My heart raced with anticipation, my jaw clenched with frustrations and the tears flowed beyond my control. I cannot wait for the next book and to read Max's story! Melissa this was a slam dunk! You rock!

Totally amazing!

I'm pretty sure I'll accidentally throw some kind of spoiler in here, so figure I'll give fair warning.
My main reason for buying this book, other than my two daughters constant "have you read it yet?", was I had to find out who had killed Della. I wasn't sure I wanted to read this book really, because I just couldn't believe that MJ Carnal was actually giving Harley his story so soon after losing his wife, who was everything to him. I mean, what kind of a romance can you get in a story that happens that quick? Now that I have read the book, it's like, she did it! What a beautiful story! Yes, definitely some hard times there, but it just all seems so right. Besides, who is to say how long it takes for someone to fall in love? This is a must read for those who have read Liquid Regret! Might throw anyone off to just start with Liquid Courage, or that could just be because I know how much of the whole story they would be missing otherwise. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I'm pretty sure I'll accidentally throw some kind of spoiler in here, so figure I'll give fair warning.
My main reason for buying this book, other than my two daughters constant "have you read it yet?", was I had to find out who had killed Della. I wasn't sure I wanted to read this book really, because I just couldn't believe that MJ Carnal was actually giving Harley his story so soon after losing his wife, who was everything to him. A heartbreaking story of a love loss and a beautiful story of a love found. In Liquid Regret, Harley's wife, Della is murdered. This picks up where Liquid Regret leaves off. Harley can't deal with Della's death. He turns back to the alcohol. He is hanging with Oksana for the drugs she is supply and his life is spiraling out of control.
The whole band, who are all suffering, since Della was part of their family, are trying to keep him together but it is not happening. Lanie, who is Mia from Liquid Regret best friend. She is around all the time and Harley has always felt a pull towards her, but he would have never cheated on Della. Lanie is trying to
help Harley get his life back together.
Harley checks into Rehab and finds himself thinking and missing Lanie more than just his friends with benefits arrangement they have. Can Harley find love a second time around? Love the story and can't wait for the next one....Great Series!!!

As I cone to the end of another spectacular love story, by MJ Carnal, I find myself wanting more already. When we left Harley we knew going into this one he would be the shell of a man he really was. This story is raw and emotional, and there's a constant struggle, between what is and what should be, and right and wrong. We get to know the extent this group of people with go to, to ensure the safety, and the well being of one another.
Is here that we get to know a bit more of the mystery that is Max, the drummer of the band Liquid Regret. Is here also that Harley learns that there is more to life than what he's known all this time. His journey is full of pain, betrayal, sorrow, regret, guilt, and so much more. This book is amazing, the ability MJ Carnal has to make you feel part of the worlds she writes about, never ceases to amaze me.
Will Harley find a new happily ever after? Who will make him realize the things he's missing in his life?

I have just realised I haven't reviewed this book yet! OMG...how could that be possible! Well here goes.
As much a I want to say to you 'It's great just read it now.' I think I need to give you a bit more!
I was left in pain after the last book, even though they got their HEA I felt that Harley had lost it all. I couldn't wait to read this book...so must I pestered MJ until she added me as a beta ;)
So at this point I will say again...OMG!!!! Im not gonna give to much away...you need to read it for yourself...but OMG! This book needed to be amazing to help me get over my heart break in the last book and it surpassed by miles!
It was written amazingly...hot and sweet...sexy and touching! A real story of love after death.

I don't know where to start. I have so much I want to say. This book was filled with so much emotion. It was dark and gritty and sexy and so angsty. Yet through it all there was so much to laugh about and I would find myself grinning and blushing. I could feel it all. I knew going into this book it was going to be rough. I had just finished reading Liquid Regret and was still not over Della's death. It had shocked me and left me ugly crying. Liquid Courage is such an amazing book. I had said the Liquid Regret series was going to be a hit and I firmly stand by that. Harley and Laney's story was so touching. It shows that there is darkness in life and love but you can overcome it. Such a wonderful book. I know it'll be one I go back and reread!

How do you deal and survive the murder of your first love, the love of life? Then one that helped keep you sober? You don't you turn to whatever numbs your pain! That's what Harley did. He relayed on the one person he shouldn't have. And it almost cost him what he had left!
Adelaine wanted to be there for him but he pushed her away. And it was almost too late. But she was strong enough to push him back and wake up.
If you read book 1 Liquid Regret then you need to read this it has the answers to the mystery. But it starts up the next mystery. I can't wait for book 3

M.J. Carnal has done it yet again! We fell in love with Harley in Liquid Regret. We went through so much heart ache with him as he learned the love of his life was taken from him. With this story I fell in love with him all over again and even more.
From the very first word I knew I wouldn't put this book down until I was finished. M.J has this way of making you connect with each character. This was no different. Watching Harley struggle with the death of Della and his fight with his addiction had my heart breaking. Then in swoops Laney. She helps him see the light and that life is worth fighting for. I can't wait for more of this absolutely amazing series!

This was good - liked it. It dealt with oneof my personally hated tropes but the writing and characters so so good that I didn't find myself losing interest. I won't put my true feelings regarding the whole dead spouse thing and then finding another love cause I've expressed my intense dislike for that before in other reviews and have stayed away from all books with that plot line. So essentially, for the series to make sense and continue for me - and btw the first book was good! - I felt like I hadto read this one. I'm glad I did and it set things up nicely for Max's story which I'm looking forward too.

Laney has been there every step of the way supporting Harley and watching as he falls apart. Harley feels something for Laney but also feels as if he is betraying Della if he moves on.
This book had me on an emotional roller coaster and I loved it!! It was heartbreaking, powerful, and an incredibly well written story.

4.75 Stars... I was so sad when the moretti series finished... I shouldn't have been. the liquid regret Series is just as good if not better. Harleys journey was always gonna be a emotional one as we watched him struggle to come to terms with the murder of his wife Della. From darkness comes light in the form of Laney and it was absorbing to watch... as always this is a fast paced book that you will struggle to put down. Well done MJ, another fantastic instalment. I now look forward to Max' s book, Liquid Assets :)

I knew this book was going to be heartbreaking before I even started it. I was bawling my eyes out with just the prologue alone! The pain coming off the pages felt so real and I felt all the pain Harley was going through. It was so hard to see him going through all that pain. But at the same time, it was nice to see Laney help him in any way she could. I felt for Laney throughout the entire book. Every single emotion was brought to the surface. I honestly can't remember the last book that made me feel this way and cry so hard. I can't wait for Max's story!

This is the story of the guitarist Griffin "Harley" Miles and his recovery from death of his wife, its the story of his addictions and his redemption. It also fills in the important blanks we we're missing from book 1.
Absolutely adored this book and Harley has become one of my favourite characters of all time.
This series just keeps getting better and i can't wait to become acquainted with the rest of the band, especially looking forward to Chance's story.

All I can say is I was hooked in Liquid Regret but I am officially in LOVE with this series!!
Griffin "Harley" is a sweet, sexy, wholesome man and damn he's so swoon worthy. I fell in love with him and this story had made him even more special than before. Oh my goodness the emotions will have you crying and screaming No right along with him. Laney is everything she seems to be beautiful, sweet, straight shooter.
She loves with all of her and hopefully she can get Harley to see the light.

LOVED this story!!!
I can't say enough how this author has pulled at my heart strings with this book.
Harley is so very torn. He had the world by the balls and then...the most important piece of him was taken away...shattered. Reading and feeling his pain kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. If only I could have jumped in the book and given him a HUGE tackle hug.
It's amazing what life can throw at you, what you can handle and what it takes to realize you are about to hit rock bottom.

beautiful strory. Harley lost the love of his life in such a brutal way and he can't cope, he gives up on his sobriety, he gives up on life. but laney and his band brothers don't give up on him. after discovering who killed his wife he derails and finally seeks help. He accepts his feelings for laney and starts living again and being happy. you feel his pain and his happiness. great book in the series. great job m.j. carnal.
