⭐ for originality because the concept could’ve been fire. Everything else? A hot mess.
This wasn’t just rushed, it was confusing. The main couple interacted exactly once, and the rest of the time Draco was LARPing as demon slayer. Like sorry if her bloodline was so powerful and Draco was a beast with the sticks stones and cauldrons why was she getting ate up by Nas’s ancestors like that? The hoodoo plot had serious potential and deserved way more care and nuance. With the right execution, it could’ve ate. We also never got a good explanation on why he wanted her soul so bad
Instead, we got vibes of “first draft, no beta, editor MIA.” Random spacing, wrong words, and a plot that spiraled into chaos. It was giving nightmare, not narrative. I truly feel tormented by this tale like baby I’m down here with the shadow man. Mama Odie need to come here and get her dang son lmaoo…
Also if you go to the card lady and she tells you get away from that man why are we still with that man? Like I’m supposed to feel bad for someone who researches crystals and the occult but don’t know what a root is? Chile please
What would cause a person to risk life and limb for someone they barely know? What would cause them to walk through hell and back for someone they just met? A Soul Tie.
I went in blindly when I started reading this book….and I wish I hadn’t. Don’t get me wrong…it was a good read, but it was heavy…..spiritually heavy! This was a different kind of dark romance….demonic forces, witchcraft, voodoo and black magic. Intertwined in all of this darkness, was a beautifully written love story.
This is my first read by this author, but definitely not my last.
I wasn’t crazy about this one. I really wanted to love it, but for me it wasn’t enough character development. It got straight into things which I usually love, but it has to also be authentic and somewhat resemble real life, even tho it is fiction.
However in the authors defense I’m not used to reading Novellas. My books are usually 300+ pages long so it would make sense that it had to hop right into the plot without much character development. I’m not saying I won’t read any other books from this author but this one just didn’t move me.
5 Stars – A Powerful Love Story with Depth, Growth, and Spiritual Insight
Draco by Madam Wise is a captivating read from start to finish. The story follows Draco and Denim, who meet in an unorthodox way and immediately connect. Despite dealing with exes, toxic work environments, and the challenges of street life, they keep finding their way back to each other.
What stood out most to me was Draco’s growth—not just in his relationship with Denim, but in the way he came to understand and evolve within himself. His character development was beautifully done and added real depth to the story.
While the book isn’t steamy the entire time, when those moments hit, they hit! The intimacy is written with passion and purpose, adding to the emotional pull between the characters.
I also appreciated how the author explored spiritual bonds in relationships, especially the respectful and accessible way she introduced root work and hoodoo. Even readers unfamiliar with these practices will find the explanations clear and compelling.
This was an amazing read, and I’m excited to continue supporting Madam Wise. Highly recommend!
This book literally took us on a whirlwind! So Denim was a spiritual woman who honestly opened the door deeper into another world she wasn’t prepared for. The flip side was she didn’t even know she opened it! Nas was really sucking life out of her but all was seen to the world was a weak being who kept giving her bf a chance. Another twist was he had help from someone we wouldn’t have originally expected. Then here comes Draco! The savior she didn’t know she needed. Their attraction could be felt in these pages. He was her strength but he also had unfinished business. This mishap could’ve ruined it all but when there’s a SOUL TIE, nothing but the almighty can break it. If you don’t like to even imagine dark magic, stay away. If you don’t like prayer, stay away.
I blindly selected this book, and I will say I was not ready at all. This is a spiritually heavy read. You have the voodoo hoodoo, witchcraft and black magic but please for those who will jump out quick please know God is ever present in this book as well. Between it all is a beautiful love story that is connected with a strong soul tie that is fighting things beyond their control. Even with all the spirits that are around and the bloodlines within Draco and Denim I swear they were taking too long to tap into it all that was my only frustration (their discernment was all the way off). I hate the part Shasta had in everything and the mystery is still holding on to me as to what and why Nas was so hell bent on Denim, the way he was. I’m glad that Draco and Denim were able to get their happy ending.
Ummm, I must say that Shasta’s part in this whole story shocked 😳 the heck outta me. I mean how desperate can you be to hook up with your sisters boyfriend? That’s just a violation ending in itself. As far as Nas is concerned, well he was a lot obsessed with Denim so much to the point where he put a root on her to control her because he felt that she was slipping away. Nas is a man who can’t take the L with his chin held high. In the end, Nas and Shasta old shiesty butt got what they deserved.
As far as my boy for life Draco, I’m glad he is ok after Ashley (or whatever her name is) shot him. I would have like to know more about his recovery and Denims recovery, but I guess they are both ok because they’s a married now, and they got their happily ever after❤️👏🏾🫡
Draco handled his business in every way. As soon as his eyes set sight on Denim he had a mission. That mission took him down deep into more than the streets. It took him to the pits, to get her, claim her and keep her.
Denim despite her occupation was a real sweetheart surrounded by snakes. This is why ole folks say, you gotta tend to ya garden so you know what’s in it. This girl’s spiritual walk was so powerful.
Madam Wise did an amazing job of shedding light on practices many don’t understand.
While it was a standalone, I think it should’ve been a 2 book drop. Because she could’ve expound on certain parts. Yet, I get it.
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Draco will take you for a ride deep down in the Bayou.
This story had some my much going on, From her man was doing evil things to her just control her, to her sister being bitter and mad at the wrong person. She was hurt from past trauma and basically aimed it at Denim, It was just betrayal after betrayal. Poor Denim was going through spiritual warfare, I just hate she didn’t use her discernment whenever she knew something didn’t feel right. The only thing I didn’t like with Draco is that he had a girlfriend, knowing he should’ve ended things before getting involved with Denim. But overall Draco was not letting Denim go, he was willing to walk through hell for her just to be with her and he did just that.

This was such a well-written and captivating read! The story flowed effortlessly and wasn’t predictable at all. I came across a review where someone said it was good until it got dark—but honestly, I expected something much darker, like the main woman falling in love with someone abusive or violent. Thankfully, it was nothing like that.
This story doesn’t rely on shock value or supernatural elements like voodoo to create interest. Instead, it’s simply beautiful in the way it unfolds. I highly recommend giving it a read.
When I say this book was everything. The messages in this story was so powerful. Sometimes we have spiritual warfare going on on and we don’t realize it . That’s why it’s best to have a strong relationship with God! I would read this book again because the message is so powerful.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️ (one scene) The story has a great plot. I just felt like some scene were missing to build the two main characters connection better for the reader. I lowkey also kinda felt bad for Ashlee up into the end because girl it’s never that serious lol. 💖
The way the book started is not the way the book finished. This book took a turn that I didn’t see coming . Those prayer warriors was rebuking and literally pulling down strong holds they were not playing. This is the true definition of walking through hell for the one you love. I love when a man opens his heart to give and receive love

This was a different type if read for me. Hoodoo is something I don't read however this book was a good read.God trumps everything and wins all battles. She could've avoid some of this is she just listen to God discernment but I'm glad he saved her. Baby her sister was a piece of work family can really be your downfall
Wow wasn’t expecting this. This was a great read. This is something to think about bc people still practice this. People want what they can’t have & will do whatever it takes to keep them to themselves. To know Draco was willing to go through for denim. Can’t wait for book 2 more twist & turns..
This was the most beautifully written story I think I’ve ever read! Love that surpasses the darkness and prevails. Madam Wise……ma’am this book. You wrote the sweetest love story ever told!!
Draco was not playing about Denim,he definitely got his girl. This book had me in my emotions but it was good. Madam Wise did her thing writing this book. If you haven't read it go get it. It's worth reading!!!!
Spiritual, Heartbreaking, Love, Laughter & finally peace. This book made me feel so many different emotions. But most importantly love can heal a broken heart. Thank you Madam Wise
Beautifully written! I was invested from start to finish. I know it was a standalone but I do hope we hear from them again soon. Draco and Denim’s love story has to be one of my top reads for 2025. Period!
It was a great read I really enjoyed it I hope everyone finds an unconditional love and someone who will fight until death I give this book 5 stars because it was worth it
Wheeeeeeew this book took me on a roller coaster ride. Im so happy it ended how it did I love a happy ending.....Denim girrllll you are 💪🏾 Draco yas yas yas walk through for your woman
This book was good. If you have a problem with reading about witchcraft and voodoo this is not the book for you. The relationship development between Draco and Denim could have been better. They met had sex and then she was staying in his home.
Not at all what I was expecting. Nonetheless a good read, I'll just say this isn't a romance, but it was a good read about the forces of good and evil.
I actually liked this book a lot. It was right up my alley. I enjoyed the mixture of hoodoo and Christianity. It is a spiritual book so if you are, read it.
