The Biker's Pup

Whip came to the Gay Riders Carnival fundraiser weekend looking for a good time, but what he found was infinitely better.

Whip always has a good time at the Gay Riders Carnival, and this year he’s hoping to meet up with some studs and top last year’s festivities. The last thing he expects when he walks into his cabin is to be nearly bowled over by a skinny lad with a bruised jaw.

Nick came to the Carnival with his so-called Master Dirk, but instead of having a good time, things moved quickly from bad to worse and Dirk responded to his safeword with a punch. Running away and hiding was Nick’s only option.

Broke, alone and not entirely sure how he’s going to get home, Nick thinks Whip is a dream come to life and he’s just waiting for the other shoe to drop. For his part, Whip is drawn to the sweet pup and falls hard for Nick over the course of the long weekend.

But what’s going to happen when the weekend is over?

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

Oh god. Why do I keep doing this?

Devastatingly rugged hero swoops in on his bike to save the slightly bruised and used subby. Yes, the hero has a magic penis and the subby is SAVED. And they lived happily ever after.

P.S. Btw. Spoiler alert for every SM book out there.

Short and smexy and not really big on plot...

Ok so short book short review. Biker meets pup (an affectionate term for a submissive) at a Gay Rider's Carnival fundraiser weekend (and isn't that a mouthful). Pup is in trouble big hunky biker rescues pup. Insta-lust occurs. Pup and Biker get it on have a fun weekend and that's it they're heading home together because a fun weekend at a carnival filled with copious amounts of sex makes for a lifetime commitment.

Ok maybe not but it was fiction and at some point it needs to deviate from reality or it's not really fiction is it? This was short, it was sexy and it was just a fun little read. I enjoyed it but I didn't go to the carnival expecting more than what was being offered, so no disappointment was to be had.

If you're looking for a short fun read that won't strain any brain cells this will work. If you want something more intellectual you'll probably want to move on but come back when you want to visit the carnival and have some sexy times you might like this one ;)

“I mean the demonstration was hot, but…” But he couldn’t imagine doing that to his pup.
“Ginger is for sushi?”
“Exactly.”

Dearest Emma, *in my best impression of the Borg collective* resistance is futile. Giving in only costs $3.50 for an advanced copy at totallyebound :-*

An abused twink and a gentle, but rough Dom take a spin in kinky land during a bikers/BDSM convention. This is a lightly plotted, sexy, HOT little story that is a gem for wiling the time away. I liked it a lot!

I may have said this before, but I love biker stories. The bad boy vibes, the hints of recklessness and sometime even brutality just do it for me. And I am perfectly fine with the darker side in fiction - just not in reality. That is where this book was such a pleasant surprise for me. Rather than the more brutal side of bikerdom (which I have also read and enjoyed), this story focuses on the softer aspects, creating a fantasy world that may not be totally real, but one I found very enjoyable. Much like a biker fairy tale, if such a thing exists.

Whip is a great guy. I loved that he attends the Gay Riders Carnival - whether that is real or not. After all, there is a gay rodeo and a gay truckers association, so why not a gay motorcycle event? Whip isn't looking for more than some fun, but when he finds Nick, abused and on the run, that quickly changes. Whip may not admit it to himself until partway into the weekend, but it is pretty much lust at first sight. And since Whip is a man who knows what he wants, and (in the absence of a safeword being used) takes what he likes, Nick is now his newest obsession and protege.

Nick has had a rough time with an a**sole so-called Master who abused him at every opportunity. Nick is very trusting, so he lets it go on far longer than he probably should have. But nor respecting Nick's safeword is one step too far, and Nick runs - right into Whip's arms. Nick cannot believe his luck when he goes from alone and broke to being spoiled by this dream of a man, and it takes him quite a while to start believing what Whip offers is real.

If you like bikers who show their softer side, if a bad8ass biker and a sweet man on the run getting together tickle your fancy, and if you're looking for a sweet read with some kink, interesting characters, and a fairy tale romance, then you will probably like this novella.

The instant I read the blurb for 'The Biker's Pup', I knew I had to read it. In my opinion, there can't be anything better than a motorcycle club, a long weekend full of leather daddies, hot men, snarky bottoms, and finding love amidst a little BDSM. Oh, yeah. This was definitely right up my alley.

It didn't take long to get a visual of Whip in my head. Six foot seven and three hundred pounds of muscle, riding a Harley, and wearing leather. Yum. Conversely, Nick is smaller, with long, black hair, big blue eyes, wearing some rumpled clothes, and he's got ten dollars to his name. He came down for the weekend with the man he thought was his lover, his master, but who turned out to be a manipulative bastard. Whip figures out pretty quickly that Nick has probably been used, and abused, while just trying to get into a club. Luckily for Nick, Whip doesn't take advantage of people, and he sets out to show Nick what life with a decent Dom can be like.

“I just want…” The words trailed off.
Whip stopped and turned to Nicky. “Go on.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Don’t do that—just tell me what you want.” He hated that Nicky didn’t feel like he mattered, like his words deserved to be heard.
“A place,” Nicky finally finished. “Like somewhere I belong.”
Poor sweet pup."

Honestly? Nick broke my heart. I loved when he said he wasn't a sub because he was desperate; he's a sub, and he's desperate. He can't believe that people like Whip and his friends exist. People who don't expect anything from him, and yet, will still keep him safe and protected. Of course, the smoking hot chemistry he and Whip have isn't hurting Nick's weekend plans, at all. Nick's former "master" really took advantage of his homeless, down on his luck circumstances.

I loved this short story. My biggest complaint? It needs to be longer. I definitely could've kept reading about Whip and Nick, plus the author introduced an excellent secondary character, Trig, who I really hope Sean Michael plans on writing about. Hint. Hint. This is a sexy read, with a sweet love story. Absolutely perfect.

To start off with this book was free. Got it with a coupon code. I am having a time at work so I’m barely able to get any reading in and needed something that if I walk away and come back I wouldn’t be lost. If I was rating this book on dialogue and plot alone it’d be a 1.5. If I was rating it on sex alone it’d be a 3. So roughly 2.25 and I’m rounding down because seriously .25?

I think 2 is fair as it was wildly predictable and I just could not get enough of a feel for the two characters. Also some words, thoughts, actions were so repetitive it made me hate them a little. One word I never want to hear/read again as a result of this book….”Pup”. Delete from vocabulary.

I have had this book on my tbr list for awhile and I can't believe I waited so long to read this book. This was a short quick read. Whip came to the Gay Riders Carnival fundraiser weekend looking for a good time, but what he found was infinitely better. Nick was hiding from his master in Whips cabin. Nick's master punched him in the face when he used his safeword. This was a pretty good read I liked both of these characters. The sex scenes were hot. I have read this author before. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Lovers of Sean Michael will thoroughly enjoy this m/m kinky biker fest. In Biker's Pup, a frightened twink, Nick, is found by Whip. Nick's asshole lover, Dirk, is an abusive top who ignored Nick's safeword and then beat him. Lucky for Nick, he finds his biker on a Harley to save the day.

This is a cute hook up story spanning a weekend at a gay biker rally. With Bears, Leatherman and bratty bottoms abounding, it can be overwhelming. For someone like Nick who's never fit in and then left all alone, it's downright scary. Whip is a gentleman top who finds the boy toy to meet his needs. This serendipitous meeting helps both of them out.

From a character perspective, it's straightforward. All the characters fit the stereotypes people expect for gay kinky biker men. The plot is uncomplicated and a bit too easily resolved. For those who are Sean Michael fans, expect the requisite pup references as well as growling. The kinky part of this story is mild. Nothing too kinky goes on except for the initial threat which scared Nick so bad. There is a bit of cock teasing as possible sexual hook ups are suggested. For example, Trig, Whip's best friend asked if Whip would share Nick. Whip flat out replies no. Then the sneaky imagery is proposed.

“Damn it.” Trig winked right back. “I’d have to admit, if we shared him, we’d squish him.” (pg. 38, Kindle loc. 570-571)

Now I have images of two large hairy bears in leather chaps and nothing else sandwiching a hairless cute twink. Nick is in a ball gag with tears streaming down his face whilst Whip and Trig are shoving their thick cocks up his ass at the same time. Whip and Trig growling and grunting as they squish puppy dog eyes Nick between them. Mr. Michael makes a slight offhand comment and I'm falling down into the gutter. This quickie kinky m/m erotica is recommended for those who love happily ever afters for lost little boys toys.

A Joyfully Jay review.

2.5 stars

I am a sucker for a man on a bike. So now that biker books are popping up in the m/m genre, I am salivating. Which is exactly why I chose to read this book. This was not my favorite biker romance. It wasn’t horrible, but there was so much that was just meh that I had a hard time focusing on the rest.

Let’s take the carnival for instance. This is a major example of needing to suspend disbelief. I won’t bore you with details of motorcycle clubs and their notorious bigotry, and I’ve read plenty gay biker romances where one or both partners have been out. But a Gay Rider’s Carnival? I just don’t see it.

As for the characters, I found Whip inconsistent. First, he wanted to spend a weekend with at least one big guy (about his own size) he could overpower. Then Nick shows up and at first he wants to get rid of the kid—after he makes sure Nick’s safe—but the next thing I knew Whip is ready to move Nick into his place after the weekend. Talk about break-neck speeds. Nick wasn’t much of anything. I mean, he was okay, but the way he cowered at everything instead of standing up for himself or what he wanted—I was over him pretty early in the story. These guys aren’t the only characters I had issues with. The antagonist was crazy, don’t get me wrong, but he wasn’t villainous enough. Why make a threat and not carry it through by yourself, or at least be among the thugs you have working with you? And then the way Whip jumps to the conclusion they were working with Nick’s old Master—like it should have been obvious. It wasn’t. It was possible, yes, but not certain.

Is this what middle aged straight women feel like when they read Harlequin romance novels?

Some of my favourite lines,
"He grabbed the beers out of his bag, putting them in the fridge along with the block of aged cheddar. He was a fucking fan of cheese and it made a perfect snack."

"I mean, if you want leather, I'm all for it. But it's not going to suddenly make people think your straight- or toppy"

"I'm not a sub because I'm desperate. I'm desperate and I'm a sub"

and the best line of all....
"He might have come second in the Mr. Leatherman contest, but he'd come first place in love."

4 star review by Dan

So first off, as a gay biker, I instantly jumped on Google to find out if there was actually such an event as the Gay Riders Carnival up north of the border. No such luck. Why do the fun sounding events always end up being made up? Big sad face.

Whip is described as 6’7” and 300 pounds of muscle dressed in leather. And he isn’t one of those biker leather bears that open their mouth and a purse falls out. He is a 100% grade “A” Canadian beef / dominant man. He rented a cabin because he wants to take someone back to his cabin, tie them to his bed and make them “scream”. He sees a big bruiser, almost as tall as him, dressed in full leather on his way to the cabin and pictures him tied to his bed. It is going to be a great weekend.

Well, things change fast. Whip opens the door to enter his cabin and someone tries to run out. The guy is much smaller than Whip, dressed in older clothes and boots, has long untidy hair and is sporting a huge bruise on his jaw.

Nick is a younger guy who came to the event with his “master”, Dirk. The guy didn’t deserve the title at all, because he was very abusive and was going to let some guys actually nail Nick’s dick to a board! When they brought out a hammer and board, Nick panicked and used his safe word and said no, but then they beat him up anyway. He ran away from them and hid in a random cabin, which just happens to be Whip’s.

Nick had been in the “relationship” with Dirk for about six months, ever since a “slave auction” at a bar. Although the “slavery” was only supposed to be one night, Nick somehow ended up with the guy for an extended time. We learn later that Nick had been working in a bar and sleeping in a park, so just barely getting by.

Whip didn’t come to the event looking for a “pup”, but the longer the two hang out the more he starts to like the kid. Throw in some phenomenal sex and the kid starts to cave to Whip’s charm. Whip is the total opposite of Dirk, and is really a big softie inside.

The story isn’t very long, so I can’t give many more details without this being a “Cliff’s Notes” version of the book. I will say that I really enjoyed the read and learned my new thing of the day. Who knew there was a thing called “figging” involving fresh ginger being jammed up someone’s anus? Not something that sounded very fun to me, but something new, LOL.

This is the first thing that I’ve read by this author, but it definitely won’t be the last! I did enjoy the book, although I would have liked it more if it were a full length novel so I knew what happened after the Carnival weekend! I recommend the book for anyone that likes bikers, and just a small touch of BDSM. I’m hoping this book will have a sequel!

Nice story, a little too short for my taste. I would have liked some characters more developped (one of Whip's friend is worth another story...).
So two guys, Whip, a Dom used to go to the Gay Riders Carnival, and Nick, a lost pup.

Nick has so far had one Dom. A bad guy who refused to accept when he safeworded and hit him instead of stopping. He's disoriented and hides in the cabin where Whip is supposed to stay during the Carnival. So when Whip meets this lost pup, he wants only one thing : comfort him, break the Dom's nose and bring the boy home. (that's actually several things lol).

But what happens when the weekend comes to the end ? That, I will let you learn by yourself !

Just for your information : yes I put only three stars but I so liked how Sean Michael write that I bought Bruised just after. And even if I didn't like Bent, I loved Secrets, Skin and Leather . So if you wanna try a short one to begin with, this one is great.

Enjoy !

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

The Biker's Pup is set at the Gay Riders Carnival. A weekend that gives a place for gay bikers to get together and just be, without hiding who they are. Whip always has a good time at the carnival. He looks forward to the hook-ups he may have there. When he gets to his cabin he's surprised to find someone already in it.

Nick was abused by his Master. Nick used his safeword to stop Dirk from pounding a nail into his penis, for that Nick was punched in the face. With ten dollars in his pocket he had nothing but the clothes on his back and no where to go. When Whip finds him in the cabin he's drawn to Nick and vows to protect him.

The Biker's Pup was a fast paced sexy novella. It's a fun quick read.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is a very enjoyable read. I have already read the second in the series - The Biker's Dom, and liked going back and seeing Trig at a previous carnival. I recommend you read them both.

Nick has left his 'Dom' in a hurry when he faces abuse, and has the good fortune to hide out in Whip's cabin. The attraction is instant and they click in all the right ways - but both wonder whether this is just for now, but want it to be for longer. Whilst it is a short story, there is enough building of a firm foundation, and enough details for us to feel that Nick is safe, and Whip is a good guy. Hot, cute and horny meets hot demanding Dom for plenty of steamy fun.

This was a short but really hot read. Who wouldn't love a tough but sweet gay biker Dom.

When Whip shows up at the annual gay biker carnival he just wants a good time. What he ends up getting is much more. He is drawn to Nick and his protective instincts kick in since Nick is such a vulnerable pup. He's been abused and mistreated when all he wants is to be taken care of by a nice Dom and master.

Totally luv all Nick's junk piercings...the ladder and the guiche...hooo doggie.

The only thing lacking is that I wanted more back story about Nick...so many unanswered questions. There was a bit of insta-love too but what can you expect in under 80 pages.

Ah, sometimes there’s just something utterly comforting about this extremely relaxed writing style.
Such a benevolent little story, leather and all.

I kind of could do with a lot more of the same now (the niceness of it), but I don’t have anything lined up. We’ll see. But this made me happy.
