Leesh is a female on the run. She's taken all she can take from her abusive mate, and so, gathering up her five year old little boy, Jase, she flees her territory, her pack and her family, but with danger lurking around every corner, and old injuries leaving her vulnerable to attack from any and every quarter, she must rely on the Master of the Hunt, from the Tall Grass pack to keep her safe.

Wallace is ruggedly handsome despite his many scars, but Leesh pushes him away even as she wishes she could let him hold her close.
Is she too far gone in fear and self-hatred to return his blossoming feelings?

With an angry mate on her tail, Wallace must do all he can to save the woman he's fallen in love with, and protect the son he wishes to call his own.

But Christmas is a time for miracles, right?

Mandy Lou Dowson was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, in 1983. Family is a huge deal to Mandy. She has three wonderful children, and two dogs - a Siberian Husky who only does what she’s told if there’s something in it for her, and a little white Pomeranian who loves nothing better than to roll in mud, or worse.
In her spare time, she likes to relax with a few glasses of wine and some karaoke. She has a keen interest in special effects make-up and is part of a dramatical society which puts on one show and one concert each year.
Mandy started reading at quite a young age and her appetite for the written word has only increased with time. It would not be at all surprising to find her reading anything and everything from shampoo bottles to Edgar Allan Poe.

Well, I have said it before and after reading Pack and Parcel I am standing by my words. Mandy Dowson is a natural born storyteller. In the brief space of a novella she introduces us to two very scarred souls whom Fate has seen fit to mark on the outside as well as their very souls. During the course of this short read Mandy draws us in to make us care about Wallace and Leesh and soon we are rooting for them as they quite unexpectedly find peace, safety and dare I say even love when they both had valid reasons to believe they would never find such things in their lives.
The two main characters have both lived very hard and tragic lives in their own way. Wallace believes he is destined to remain alone because women don't seem to want a mate who is so badly scarred. While Leesh believes she is doomed to suffer and probably die at the hand of the abusive man who claimed her as mate. However, when this supposed mate threatens her child she takes matters into her own hands to protect him. While both of these individuals could easy have become caricatures of a sad existence, Mandy didn't allow that to happen. They are strong survivors with the spirit of their wolves living in their very hearts. I really enjoyed this most recent foray into the world of the Tall Grass Wolf Pack.
Oh and ladies, what could be sexier than a gorgeous hunk of man who is also decent, honorable and strong... but doesn't realize what a catch he is? Well, Wallace is that man. He doesn't see himself as a catch and yet he still strives to do right by Leesh and her son even though he doesn't believe he ever has a hope of gaining her as his mate.

Fantastic. I love anything by this author. She has become a firm favourite of mine. Since I read Bound by Fate earlier this year, I have become a Mandy Lou Dowson addict. I can't describe what I get from her writing, here, let me try. Joy, angst and constant smirky giggles, also a smidge of jealous rage for her eloquent turn of phrase. She writes so, so well. A born teller of tales. Read it. Take a chance on Pack and parcel, even better start with Bound by fate. It will blow your mind and have you panting for more.x

This author is AMAZING!! I can't say it enough. I know she will do a lot with her literary career. She makes her characters spring forth from the pages and you just fall in love with them, distrust them, or downright hate them. Her sex scenes make even an old pervert like me smile and wait eagerly for her next steamy scene. I was lucky enough to see a teaser that the author made for this book before I read it and the scar that she DESCRIBED on Wallace's face was spot on. I am so impressed by this woman's talent.

A mother on the run. A hungry and very tired child. Foreign pack lands. What does that have in common? The Tall Grass Pack and a new dawn in the horizon.

We meet Leesh and little Jase; both on the run from Leesh’s mate. It was one thing for him to beat her, she could take it and did but the line was drawn when he struck her son. That is a line no one should ever cross. Now they are on the run, trying to stay ahead of her mate. If he catches up to them he would most likely kill them both. She -no matter what- will do all in her power -pitiful as it is- to save her son. As they travel across the lands Jase and Leesh make a camp -which Jase guards- while she goes off and hunts up some food. They desperately need the nourishment.

Wallace, master of the hunt for the Tall Grass pack comes across their campsite while out on a patrol. There are rogues out and about, he sees signs of them everywhere. Could the new campsite he has just came across be rogues as well? As he snuck up to the sight he was Jase. Little tiny Jase guarding the campsite with a stick. The pup was very focused on his job too. When Leesh came out of the woods with a couple of rabbits for them Wallace waited patiently. When Wallace makes his presence know Leesh backpedals. Offering him to their meal. But he refuses. Telling them to stay and eat but to be careful there were rogues about. There was something about them… he was curious. What would have them both looking so scared when they saw him? Who were they running from?

After their meal Leesh gathers up their things and they start walking again. After a little time poor little Jase just can’t go on so she scoops him up. And they walk more. As they walk along the road a man appears. A rogue. Which Leesh knew this could end...badly. She ran, keeping her child folded against her chest. She found a small cave and shoved her son in and cowards with him. Hoping the wolf would run off. No such luck though. As he stood there and taunted her Wallace showed up. Needless to say her put the rogue out of his misery.

After coaxing Leesh and Jase out of their cave he decides to take them home with him, to the pack. Yes they are technically rogues but they are running from something or someone and he knows they need protection. Bringing them to the Alpha’s home they are greeted by tired eyes until Beth (the Alpha female) notices the child. They are swept into their home and given room and much needed safety. But Leesh knows she must leave again soon to keep her mate from finding her and bringing trouble to this pack.

As the time passes, the days turn to night and night to a new day. Christmas is only a day off now and Beth gets Leesh to agree to stay until after Christmas. Give them more time to eat, rest and get their strength back up since she is determined to leave. As Christmas day dawns Leesh wakes to an empty bed. Jase’s voice woffs up the stairs and he sounds happy. A sound she hasn’t heard in such a long time. It melts her heart. As she joins the Alpha’s and her son she is gifted with a box of herbs she will need on their travels and a surprise that was delivered to the house from Wallace this very morning. It is not much but it was made just for her. She unwraps it to reveal a slab of wood and a carving done of a mother wolf standing protective of her cub.

Wallace -who this whole time is pacing in his room- is hoping his little carving wasn’t taken the wrong way. It was just a little something he wanted her to have. When she shows up on her doorstep to thank him they both get a good sense of what they need -each other- but they are both too stubborn and leary to move upon it. But its obvious. The next morning with their rucksacks on they take off across the Tall Grass territory and head towards their first stop -Beth and Gareth’s old pack lands- the Loam Floor lands. As they are greeted they pass a missive off to Beth’s den father and they are taken to the Alpha’s house. They are just passing through so they are given a place to stay. Jase gets a little room and then Leesh and Wallace are to share one. Well she thinks she is sleeping on the floor, Wallace isn’t having that and then she offers him to share the bed. Best decision she ever made. After falling asleep -many hours past- Wallace wakes up to Leesh curled up into his side. That turns into her kissing his scars on his belly and sides.. and yeah it wakes up his hunger and need for her. Needless to say.. things go from kissing to them being bonded in a matter of time. And holy hell it was friggin’ awesome. (grins)

They do continue on their travels. Leesh still thinking in a few days time she will be leaving him to get her and her son to safety. He is thinking he will just follow them wherever they go. If they are there, he will be home. By the time they get to the border lands of the Swift River pack they are both fighting to keep it together. They are now bonded. They love each other but the worry of her ‘mate’ Shawn finding them is still heavy on her mind.

That all comes to a head one night. While Wallace is out hunting she and Jase are left at the campsite. Shawn shows up. We get to see what a miserable, disgusting pig of a man he is supposed to be. Asshole just doesn’t cover it. But, Jase runs off into the woods and Wallace comes to the rescue. It isn’t until the nasty fight is over that Jase runs off. Wallace is upset because he killed the boys father in front of him but that wasn't the problem. To a five year old his dad was always the biggest wolf. So when he saw Wallace -a much larger wolf than Shawn’s- kill him Jase thought it was Wallace that died. So he ran off to hide.

When the boy sees Wallace is indeed alive he launches himself into his arms and clings to him. (Such a sweet moment. I so teared up.) So with the threat of Shawn out of the way they can go home to the Tall grass pack and that is what they do. They are officially mated and life as they should have always had it goes on. Even though it was after Christmas I still say its a Christmas miracle that all started with a small piece of wood that let Wallace show Leesh just how he saw her. Forget the scars he saw a brave, strong woman who would do anything for her cub. It was the perfect ending to a perfect love story.

I was given an ARC book for an honest review, free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS

This story is told from the 2 points of view. I have to say that I love books with various point of views
WARNING: DOES CONTAIN SOME ADULT SITUATIONS AND CONTENT

Pack & Parcel is the Novella in the Moon Bound Series. This book starts off with twist that you do not see coming. One thing I liked about this particular novella that pertains to Moon Bound books is that one of the secondary characters from Bound by Fate, novel one, is the main character in this book and you do not expect his role to be a dominate one. If you have not yet read Bound by Fate you will be confused in this novella and not know about the back story and leading up unto the current events of this book.

Aloise (Leesh) is introduced to us in the beginning of the novella with her son, Jase. They are on the run from her former mate who has done unspeakable things to her. If wolves are caught on the run they are killed instantly because rogue wolves are considered dangerous wolves. She is hiding out trying to stay clear of any packs or tribes so that she can keep herself and her son alive on little to nothing as far as food is concerned. One night, a strange, yet kind, man tries to offer some assistance, she is not sure she can trust him. She can also see that he has had his own fair share of battles that have been fought. She is on the move again. Leesh does not take charity, well not until rogue finds her. Does Leesh really want to be saved or can she save herself and her son?
We met Wallace in Bound by Fate, he had a small role, yet he did have a role and if you paid any attention you did notice him. Wallace does not feel confidant of himself as a mate for anyone because of his past. He thinks his role in his pack is just to keep watch and be a tracker. Little does he know that the role he is going to be playing for the next several months is going to be his undoing.
Wallace and Leesh have an understanding of each other, they have both been through rough times. They also know what it is like to fight for their lives, both on the inside and out. What they do not know is what lies ahead for them in the next few months as they travel to different pack lands to search for rogues and her former mate.

What will become of Wallace and Leesh? Who has the will to survive? Does Leash's former mate find them, or do they find him? Who will live? Who will die? I will tell you one little minor..ok not so minor detail, Jase is along on the whole journey. What happens to him?

In order to answer all your questions and more you will have to read this wonderful novella to the Moon Bound Series! I promise you will not be disappointed. I feel like Mandy's writing keeps getting better with each novel or novella that has been published.

Be on the lookout for Mandy Lou Dowson in 2015! Do not miss out on the fantastic author!

I received a copy of this book from the lovely author Mandy Lou Dowson. In exchange for my honest opinion,

This is the second installment in the Moon Bound series,

Leesh is a woman on the run. She has taken all she can take from her very abusive mate, enough is enough so gathering up her five year old boy Jase, Leesh has no other option but to flee for her and her sons life.leaving behind her territory, her pack and her family, but around every corner danger may appear, with old injuries leaving her vulnerable to attack from any and every quarter, Leesh must rely on the Master of the Hunt, from no other than the Tall Grass pack to keep her safe Wallace.

Wallace is o so ruggedly handsome despite his scars, but Leesh is not interested in another man or so she thinks so she pushes him away, even though she wishes she could let him hold her.

Now with an angry abusive mate on her tail, Wallace must do all he can to save this beautiful woman he's falling so hard for, is it Love ...., Wallace will protect Leesh son who he so he wants to call his own.

Tis the Season for Miracles after all,Is a Christmas miracle on the agenda?

Mandy has stolen my heart once again with this fab story i fell in love with Leesh the way Mandy describes her characters and there life is second to none same with Mandy. Its the main reason why you will always get pulled in to her stories,

Mandy knows how to bring out your emotions I laughed, cried got angry And even got a bit hot and all this from one story. once i started i did not put the book down at all you can even ask my Mother ;)

My favorite character in this charming book was little Jase he stole my heart what a sweet young lovely boy.

This was one of my fave lines from the book. ...being different, being changed, doesn't mean your any less perfect. It doesn't mean you're damaged goods. It simply means you've been honed into another form of perfection......Your perfect..."

I swear i swooned when i read the above paragraph Wallace is such a man a real Gentleman. Can i have him please Mandy <3 ..... a Girl can hope.

There is nothing about this book i disliked at all it has everything you want and need from a Christmas novella, watch out for the ending you may tear up like i did it left me smiling and chuckling at the same time.

This book is most suited to anyone over the age of 18. It contains adult situations and scenes of erotica and mild horror.

In this novella we meet Leesh, who is on the run with her young cub, she has been very poorly treated and in her escape from danger meets Wallace, her saviour in her hour of need. Despite the females concerns about returning to a pack and the danger she would put them in, she knows her health and her sons depends on it.

Leesh and Wallace are a similar pair and both have their damage from the past but can they help one another through what lies ahead? Will Leesh ever be able to let someone in despite her past?

Favourite excerpt from Pack & Parcel:
"...being different, being changed, doesn't mean your any less perfect. It doesn't mean you're damaged goods. It simply means you've been honed into another form of perfection......Your perfect..."

It's another brilliant story from Mandy Dowson and made my heart ache with sadness but equally leap with joy to know that all was not lost for Leesh and her son. Her Christmas present would be one of rediscovery and confidence she lost many years ago.

A magical Christmas novella that had me hooked from the start. Another must read this Christmas.

I am so glad I read this book before I jumped to book #3, which I'm going to start after this review....LOL

I love the way Ms. Dowson used an example of the very real and uncontrolled problem that plagues our society "Domestic Abuse".
She also shows the extremes a mother will go to protect her child and escape this evil.

Aloisa is on the run with her son Jase, on the run from her abusive mate and pack, little does she know that she is about to run into her destiny. A life she never thought to ever see again.

Wallace is Master Hunter of Tall Grass Pack and he is very well aware that his scars will never attract a mate for him, but The Fates have other plans for him and he never saw them coming for all that his senses are so honed.

It was so great to see Gareth and Beth with her huge belly again Beth had a very difficult experience in Book #1, but she also found love and a lot of support and she wants to pay it forward to Aloisa. But wait she gives birth!!! And it's not just 1 cub either...how wonderful, I'm off to read book 3 of this great series!

I recommend this series to all Paranormal lovers!

Enjoyable, quick read.

This was an enjoyable little Novella to help pass the time waiting for the 2nd book to come out! This deserves a very strong 4, and is probably a 5 for many. However, I use 5 stars sparingly. This is also not my typical genre, and is out of my "comfort zone". I did get it when it released at midnight, and stayed up until I had finished it. Mandy is excellent at grabbing your attention immediately and keeping you pulled into the story! The world she creates in her stories is captivating. We met new characters in this Novella, with a lot of "history", and a deep past. For a Novella, I felt like this book dealt with a heavy topic, and I honestly would have liked to have more of the main characters past in the story, but we always want more in a Novella right? As in Moon Bound, the characters are well developed and interesting, and I hope we see more of the characters in this book in following books. Well done Mandy, I'm even more caught up in this series now!

Fabulous mini Read i loved it a great heroic love story, Romance and some super hot sexy scenes. This mini story is a tale of severe spousal abuse and as the lovely Leesh is running for her life and that of her son Jase, she stumbles on to the pride lands and in to super strong and scarred Master of the Hunt Wallace a fierce yet gentle Protector of his pack and must look to him for protection from a lone Rogue.

As they are greeted into the pack Leesh knows she cannot bring trouble onto her new found family and friends so must keep moving to avoid her Abusive mate, only when he is of no concern could she ever think of staying in one place, and maybe Wallace could be a guy she could once again learn to trust to keep her safe.

LOVED it simples a great sweet tale of romance, desire, worries and fight for survival, this couple are a great match and together can over come their fears and be a family all together and truly have the life as a family within the pack they have both so hoped and dreamed of.

Again, I was gifted this novella as an ARC, and I gotta say, Mandy, YOU ROCKED it again. Another top fave, by another one of my fave ladies. The storyline, the characters, the heat, passion and love between W and L, and oh my, little Jase, I just wanna borrow him and keep him with me. Everything flowed together greatly and I can another best seller on the rise.

Was so nice to see Beth and Gareth again, to see where their lives are leading them. Esp with their little cubs on the way.

I know I've said it before, but I'm gonna say it again. I love you long time, girlfriend and awesome is a to tame word to describe your. Your writing skills are above and beyond, and I thank you so much for giving me such a great opportunity to be one of your beta babes and part of your street team. You deserve all and everything coming your way.

Big Loves To You. Always.

I read this novella as a suggestion. The tale stars the traumatized wolfmom Leesh and a sexy, scarred hunter named Wallace. Overall, I enjoyed it as a very cute story and thought it cut the mustard fine as a standalone without any prior knowledge of the world in which this story takes place. This was a first (and very awesome) for me by this author, so I'm excited to dive into any other stories in this little world. Shifters are a favorite for me, but the important part is for them to be done well. Done right. And not to be carbon copies of every other shifter story out there on the market. The wolves and their intricate pack relations struck me as intriguing, but mostly, I was rooting for Leash and her little family's safety throughout the story. Satisfying ending for a holiday themed novella. Steamy sex scenes. Can't wait to read more.

While reading Pack and Parcel I realized Author Mandy Dawson had unexpectedly stolen my heart. Her storylines are beguiling and the emotional atmospheres are intoxicating.

Leesha and Wallace experience conflict as individuals securing their beautifully broken souls. The design of the Wolf society inflicts further complications for the two. As they are accepted and protected by our former protagonists, self-acceptance and alluding a life-threatening force impends their existence together.

Not only are there two new characters to instantly love, but the characters from Bound by Fate are present, true to their origins on the first book, and we are surprisingly allowed to be an audience to an anticipated event that includes a nice shocker element. A book that leaves me smiling like a lunatic is put on "repeat mode."

This was a super great freebie. I really enjoyed this novella. I loved the characters, their strengths, personalities, and the learning and self-discovery. This was a really great book with plenty of emotions, some suspense, action, some happy touching moments and some hair-raising tense ones, and a great ending that leaves you wanting to read more in this series. There was some great backbone towards the end and the parting shot was just perfect and surely left me with a snicker and a smile (and maybe a giggle...shhh). I'm definitely gonna want to read more and see some of the other characters from all the packs. This was written well and had me turning pages so fast I was done before it felt like I was even halfway through. Another author for me to look out for. Can't wait to meet the rest and completely loved this. Super Great...Read on!

Oh my gosh, another great read by this author. This short story is about Leesh who is on the run from her abusive mate and Wallace who comes across her and her son in the forest. Two scarred wolves come together and the love story between them is wonderful to read. Obviously, Leesh shoulda came to her senses sooner lol, but then the story would've been over far too quickly! Another fabulous story by Ms Dowson, well worth reading, and although it's part of the Moon Bound series it could be read on it's own but I would urge you to get book 1 before reading this as that book is a fabulous read too!

HAHAHA. Good for them!!!

I always love a good HEA! Especially when it ends with a bit of humor! I loved this novella just as much as Bound by Fate. This had a whole different story, but Beth and Gareth, along with the rest of the Tall Grass Pack, were in it too. Another well written book from Mandy Lou Dowson!!!

Awesome book!

Pack and Parcel is a wonderful book and is the 2nd in the Moon Bound Series. This book tells Leesh and Wallace's love story. This is the story of how they found each other and then the struggles and obstacles that Leesh and Wallace went through and overcame in order to be together and realize their love. The author Mandy Dowson creates characters that the reader can identify with, that are likable and realistic. The characters are well developed and the relationships between the characters are clearly explained so that the reader can easily understand them. The story has a lot going on and the author engages the reader very early in the book when Leesh is just fleeing her abusive relationship with her mate. The author is able to keep the reader captivated to the end of the book, when Leesh is finally free of her batterer and is safe with a man who loves her; Wallace. I really enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to others.

This is a must read story that will hold you captive from beginning to end. The were shifter world created by the talented imagination of Mandy Lou Dowson will seem so real you will ask for directions to the Tall Grass Pack.
Aloise and her 5 year old son are found by Wallace the Master of the Hunt of the Tall Grass Pack. Wallace takes her back to the Pack. Were Alpha's Beth and Gareth take Aloise and her son into their Den House. Aloise is the victim of severe spousal abuse. She won't tell anyone she has run away from her mate because she is afraid they will return her to him. Wallace and Aloise are drawn to each other in ways they thought would never happen.
I will read anything written by this author. She brings her characters to life, making them so real. I laughed, cried and got angry for all that happens in the novella. Thank you Mandy Lou for sharing your incredible stories with us.

Once again Mandy Lou Dawson deserves a standing ovation! Great follow up to her first book. In Pack and Parcel you follow a mother on the run desperately trying to protect her child from someone they should both love and be loved by, not fear and hate. As a mom ( with a son named Jace) this tugged at my heart from the start. I loved how tough and yet insecure Leesh was. She was the perfect match for Wallace. Two people who felt they were imperfect and incomplete until they found each other. As always her tale has love, danger, and a sincerity that moved me to tears at times. It you haven't read anything from this author, I suggest you start because she is quickly becoming one of my favorite new writers.

A heartwarming story of pain and love. We follow the trail of Leesh as she runs from an abusive situation into the arms of safety and love. This story will grab your attention from the beginning until it ends. The main interest being Leesh, Josh and Wallace, it branches off just enough to include Gareth and Beth. So many intriguing characters that it makes you hope that there will be future writings that will include them all, allowing us to continue to follow their lives as we go. Great potential for many future books, with the bonus of being a standalone. Loved it Well written!

loved it

Love this series! The plots are very different and the story keeps you interested until the last page. You could probably get away with not reading the first book in the series before this one but I wouldn't recommend it. You won't know the background of the pack or most of the other characters in it. There's sex in the story but it's not the main theme of it nor does the plot depend upon it. I love how the author has the main characters meeting up with the different packs in this book. I'm hoping they will get their own story too.

I absolutely loved this book. I knew she would leave the first pack but what I didn't expect was it being her that initiated them being together. I also didn't expect Jase to be so upset thinking his papa and killed Wallace. There was no indication that Jase even felt that way about him. A wonderful love story. Mandy is an excellent writer and I can't wait to read some more of her work!

A wonderful story of tragedy and the building of trust. It embraces new beginnings with a twist. Nothing is as powerful as opportunities through growth of character and the ability to overcome harm's from the past.

This is a good book. Great characters and a cute short read. I was not impressed with the visual I got when I read the mating seen. Too much information. I don't mind reading over and skipping swear words but I really don't like the F bomb. This is why I made it three stars.
