This is a Dark Reverse Harem College Bully Romance
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a why choose but I'm team Matteo 😆 Okay, buckle up, because Stephanie Marie's Wrath isn't just a dark romance, it's a full-on experience. Seriously, you have to read the trigger warnings for this one. This book plunges you headfirst into a world that's grimy, dangerous, and utterly captivating. And honestly? There were moments—genuine, gut-punching moments—where I was horrified by a scene, only to find myself completely obsessed with it a few pages later. That push and pull, that feeling of being repulsed and utterly drawn in, is just pure genius on Stephanie Marie's part. She's not afraid to go dark, and it pays off big time.
At the center of all this is Phoenix, and let me tell you, she's a survivor in every sense of the word. Her journey is raw, messy, and incredibly real, making you root for her with every breath. The "why choose" dynamic here is fantastic, building this insane tension that just never lets up. While my heart has undeniably been claimed by Matteo (his brooding intensity and possessive vibes? Yes, please!), the chemistry with all the men is off the charts. Every interaction sparks with a dangerous, undeniable energy, and the sexual tension? It's practically sizzling off the pages. The way Phoenix navigates these complex relationships, the constant dance of power and desire, it's just everything.
Stephanie Marie's writing pulls you right into this gritty underworld. The pacing is relentless, with twists that genuinely shocked me, keeping me glued to the book until the very end. And even though it's dark, the emotional depth she gives these characters is amazing.
Wrath completely consumed me, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm practically bouncing with anticipation for the next book. That ending left me desperate to know what happens next for Phoenix and her magnetic men. If you're into dark, intense romance with incredibly high stakes, complex characters, and a whole lot of delicious tension and chemistry (and you've definitely checked those trigger warnings!), then seriously, stop what you're doing and pick up Wrath. This series has me absolutely hooked!
Now it’s time to jump straight into Wrath, the second book within the Stonebrook series and after the cliffhanger I’ve just endured with Savage, I felt it’s only right to jump straight into the review. Similar to Savage, this is a why choose dark academia romance with an added twist mixed in, it’s nice to be able to look at this from a different angle being fully aware of why Phoenix ended up in Stonebrook, even though we had a brief understanding why she was hiding from the men haunting her nightmares, we don’t fully understand who she’s referring to until the end of Savage and it’s like a punch to the gut. Once again, it was suspenseful & emotional, I found it difficult to put the book down because each chapter ended with me wanting more. This book according to Amazon is rated 16-18 and once again I find myself agreeing more towards 16. I feel there is more spice and graphic context in this book with the overall potential of it becoming darker with more spice as the series goes on.
We are introduced to a new main character thrown into the deadly mix and why the need for revenge is there for the brothers. Matteo is mentioned in the first book as someone with the overall authority over the brothers without fully giving away his dynamics and involvement. Caleb and Dane seem to take a back seat focusing mainly own Matteo and Phoenix and the situations involving them, with Phoenix’s flashbacks thrown in its giving you an insight on the events from the past and how they came to be where they are now. Cameron also steps into the spotlight alongside Matteo and Phoenix taking more of a directed role within the book. There are 2 things that stuck out to me, once again for Phoenix it’s seeking her freedom and having the choice on what she does with her life, but she wasn’t expecting to see Matteo, the man who’s haunted her nightmares and now stands in her way. Where-as Matteo wants to punish her for what she did, protect her and remind her just who she belongs to.
If I had to describe this book it would be “A five-star heart pounding and suspenseful journey to freedom which looks less likely when the past rears its ugly/beautifully sexy head once again,”.
in this book we get a more background story of Matteo and what kind of relationship he has or had with Phoenix, we also get a glimps into the relationship between the brothers.
There is such an intense pull between characters which keeps the interest alive, and we get too see more of Phoenix sassy smart mouth.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, because I really enjoyed the book. There is a red thread through out the book thst is connected to the first one, and it gave rise to intense feelings and a lot of thoughts, and I cant wait to read the third book! i want to know more about what will happen, will Phoenix be okey? what will happen with the brothers? and will there be more of steamy scenes😁
I can recommend this to people who enjoyed a bit darker books like Haunting Adeline or chasing charlotte. this book was a bit low on the romance and more heavy on the darkness.
Book 2 in the Stonebrook Rebels series. I was really looking forward to this one as the previous book finished on such a cliff-hanger, but it sort of fell a bit flat for me.
I still think the plotline is a good, but this book seemed to spend too much time on rehashing what happened previously or in Matteo & Phoenix's background, but not actually giving details! so I found myself skim reading a lot of the 1st half of this book. The 2nd half was a lot better, with the pace picking up. Upon completing this book I felt it was more of a filler book & could have been more of a novella & definitely shorter!
I will buy the 3rd book in the series when it comes out 'Vengeance', as I'm hoping it will pick back up in that instalment.
Wrath is the 2nd book in the Stonebrooke Rebels series. This is a dark romance and does have content that may be sensitive to some so please check the trigger warnings before reading. Wrath picks up right where the first book, Savage, left off. Phoenix finds herself face to face with a ghost and right back into the same situation she was in before arriving at Stonebrooke. Will Phoenix be able to resist breaking again? Will she be able to rise from the ashes and get her freedom back? While continuing on with the storyline, this book also takes us back and gives us insight into her past/background as well Matteo’s. Great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
Wow, ok, Wrath was definitely needed! Not only does it pick right where Savage ended but we find out who Matteo was to Phoenix in the past and what they came to mean to each other. While the story mostly focuses on Matteo and Phoenix we do get glimpse of past memories that are important to understanding Phoenix and Matteo's story. Wrath ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next book!
So this story focuses on Mateo. This is the guy that the FMC left for dead and was positive he had passed and was no longer an issue for her. Well surprise honey he didn't die and he is not happy with you. He wants her dead but also he just plain wants her.
It course when Mateo needs to leave again he surprises her with the biggest truth of all ... Mateo is the brother to Caleb, Cameron, and Dane. This one piece of information is the most surprising to her.
So now we just need to see what happens next. Will this end up in death or life? Happiness or sorrow? Defeat or triumph? Only time will tell.
This is the second book in the Stonebrooke Rebels series and it starts off right where the first book ended. This book really centers on Matteo and Phoenix. It was exactly what we were needing. I loved getting their back story as well as starting to find out what had happened to her in the past. We still have so many secrets and twists we need truths from but we are starting to see the big picture. We also got a glimpse of the brothers relationship and dynamics. This series is intriguing and keeps you wanting more. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. This book left me wanting so much more I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
Ahhhh what a book! I absolutely loved book 1 but my god book 2 🥵 I’m gonna say it ok I’m not a big fan of Matteo 🙈 there I said it BUT that doesn’t mean he didn’t get me all hot and bothered 🥵 coz dam I’ll be his little doll any day 🤭😉 I’m hoping he grows on me 😂 But the other brothers!?!? YES PLEASE 🥰 And my larl Cameron 🥺 little fire cracker he’s going to be in book 3 and I cannot wait for it!! Such a good read! The drama and tension between them all gives me tingles and the banter is absolutely amazing! Who doesn’t love a bit of funny with ya crazy 🤷♀️🥰
This picks up right where it ended in Savage and lemme tell you I was not prepared for Matteo especially learning about his past with Phoenix. This book was definitely more focused on them 2 but it did not disappoint. Even tho it was more Matteo centered we still got to see Caleb and Dane oh and Cameron which is where it leaves us with an ending that makes you have crazy anticipation for what’s to come. Like the first book this one was also dark and deliciously spicy and I cannot wait for the next book!
Wow Stephanie did it again!! The first book hooked me with the cliffhanger but the second book gave me even more!! It had morally grey men, smut smut and more smut!! 🥵🥵🥵 everyone your going to love this book also at first your found have a hard time with one character but I promise he grows on you hehe 😏🫣🫢 thank you for letting me be part of your ARC team!!! I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions and reviews to this!
This book was a fab edition to the series. With this book we learn more about Matteo and Phoenix and how they meet and their history. Not sure if I luv or hate Matteo yet but I have a feeling I will end up doing the later once book 3 comes out. This book was a build up to more and I think we will learn way More in book three. This book gave me more questions than answers lol and I need the answers. A Few puzzle peaces clicking into place in this book.
Wrath is book two of the Stonebrooke Rebels Series.
This one deals a lot with the relationship between Phoenix and Matteo. We get a lot of flashback moments where we see how these two met and their history together. It is not light reading, so reader beware.
We touch a little on Caleb and Dean, but not a ton. They are more near the end where we get a big revelation about all the men in Phoenix's life.
When you come across an author on TT you aren't always sure you're going to like the book....
Well with this one I didn't like it I LOVED it!. This is definitely one you have to check the triggers before you even attempt to read. But the way this series has me in a chokehold. I'm counting down the days until Book 3 comes out. The way I need to know what happens with Phoenix and her story.
Definitely give this book and this amazing author a try. You won't regret it.
Ooooo, when is the next book out?! I loved this, even though there was not a lot of spice in it, it kept me intrigued and wanting to find out what happens next. I loved learning about Mateos and Phoenix’s backstory and how they met, slowly putting all the pieces together. The way this book finished, has me so excited for the next. I cannot wait. Another book knocked out of the park by Stephanie!
I couldn't put this down.. It sucked me in from the first chapter. these Savage brothers 🥵 I loved that we got to meet Dark and Dangerous, aka Matteo, in this one and to find out more of their back story. It is dark but not as much spice in this book. It's definitely one of my favourite reads this year. I could have read 100+ more pages. I am excited for book 3.
I devoured this book in 3 hours! Following on from the first book, this book opens up more on Matteo and who he is which I loved! I can never get enough of the Savage Brothers and can’t wait for this next one 😜
This book is a great edition to this series. I loved that this started where book 1 ended which i loved.
We get the backstory on Matteo & Phoenix and what a dark past this was. You want to hate and love him in the same time but Matteo is the villain in this story.
Stephanie sure knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next and still it doesn't come close to what I through was going to happen and it's so good how you can't help but want to know what is going on. this book is so good.
Wow what a incredible book again from Stephanie Marie. Stephanie Marie done again with book two the brilliant savages brothers and Matteo in this rich and incredible story filled with lots of details. That is all I will. Go and get this book now! Enjoy!
Love the Smut, plus I love Phoenix's reaction when finding out that Matteo was a Savage and related with Caleb, Dane and Cameron, I also loved the ending where Phoenix is now on Cameron's side
that has some serious Stockholm syndrome but is a great read with some highly unique characters it’s only 150 pages so is a great quick read but highly worth it.
In this one, we learn more about the past between Phoenix & Matteo. And it was a dark past. And despite how their lives separated, he is still determined to keep her even though he says he hates her too.
Matteo is definitely one of those villains that a part of you wants to like, at least a part of him. But at the same time I too wanted knee the man & drop him. Especially after he snuck up on her & kidnapped her.
We also see Caleb & Dean looking for but to no avail. Only when Cameron shows up with her, do things start ti get messier.
And I have a feeling the next book is only going to get messier with the sibling rivalries going on. It will for sure be an interesting book.
