Pseudonym of Lara Adrian

A Michigan native and descendant of Mayflower passenger Governor William Bradford, Tina St. John makes her home in coastal New England with her husband, the inspiration for all her heroes and her most devoted fan. The couple are the caretakers of two rescued felines who have trained them to surrender treats, tuna, and belly rubs on command.

She quit a full-time corporate job to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. In 1995, Tina St. John sold her first completed manuscript, Lord of Vengeance, and has since gone on to pen several more acclaimed medieval romances. She was frightened of vampires as a child. Luckily, she has overcome this fear and uses that early fascination to drive her paranormal romance novels as Lara Adrian. Her stories mesh fear, sensuality, and power into vampire romance fantasy novels and today she is well-known for the popular Midnight Breed series. She believes that “vampires as heroes in romantic fiction…are the ultimate bad boy.” Her books have been licensed in over sixteen countries. She is also a RWA RITA finalist and Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice award recipient.

This boxed set of the Dragon Chalice series is awesome.

Each story can stand on its own and introduces us to a new set of characters with each new story. Along with the romantic elements of each story, the stories are filled with adventure, intrigue, suspense and mystery; culminating in the ending of the tale of the Dragon Chalice in the third and final book. Great storytelling and wonderful characters to love.

Nice set of medieval romances. All connected - read in order. Sorcery, villians, reformed alpha males, sweet ladies, shifters and magic. Pretty much has it all and well written. Enjoyed it very much.

A delightfully raucous ride through the imagination of Lara Adrian. I am a longtime fan of her Midnight series and was not disappointed with this one.

I give this series 4 stars!

I found all three to be complex and appealing stories.

The 1st book in the Series “Heart of the Hunter” is about Ariana and Braedon. Ariana is on a journey to France to release her brother from the grasp of his captors with the ransom they have demanded. Ariana is accompanied by her bodyguard who meets and unfortunate end in a scuffle and Ariana finds herself in the arms of The Hunter, Braedon, a knight with a mysterious past and a dark legacy.

After a long journey together they finally free Kenrick from Silas’ clutches and stumble upon the whereabouts of the second part of the Dragon Chalice and just in time as Ariana benefited from it greatly.

I really liked that the romance that eventuated between the two was established on trust and was not love at first sight. In fact upon first sight Ariana was quite terrified of the knight.

The 2nd book in the Series “Heart of the Flame” is about Ariana’s brother Kenrick and Haven. Upon being rescued by his sister Ariana in the first book, Kenrick has emerged from 6 months’ imprisonment with an unyielding determination to find the Dragon Chalice. Upon arriving at his old friend’s estate in Greycliff he has found it burnt to the ground with three fresh graves dug and the treasured object that he hid there is missing. Kenrick notices a beautiful woman who eludes him and finds her with her memory scorched by fever.

Kenrick returns with Haven to Clairmont to find out what she knows of the events that transpired at Greycliffe. The more time Kenrick and Haven spend together, the more they start to develop feelings for one other but there are secrets and memories that might tear them apart.

Haven builds a relationship with Ariana and when on an excursion with her runs into Le Natres who enlightens her of who she really is and the part she played in the attack on Kenrick’s closest friend, Randwulf of Greycliff, and his family.

The 3rd book in the Series “Heart of the Dove” is based on Randwulf of Greycliffe and his mission to avenge his family. Everything that Randwulf of Greycliff loved was torn from his grasp in a night of fire and terror. His wife and child slain, his manor destroyed, Rand now lives for revenge on the man who ordered the attack. Armed with part of the legendary Dragon Chalice, Rand embarks on a deadly voyage to trap his foe. Until he becomes shipwrecked and is fighting for his life before he is found unconscious on a beach by a forest nymph, Serena.

Serena has the gift of Knowing: with a mere touch, she can see all the secrets in a man’s heart. Her mother Calandra has kept her hidden in the grove to protect her from being condemned as witch and to avoid the attention of men. Serena finds herself drawn to Rand and looks beyond the anger and revenge that fills his mind.

The writing of this entire series is powerful and the plot is very strong. I thought that the supporting characters as well as the main characters were all well described and felt like they all had a part to play in the outcome of this story.

All three books were full of action that kept me on the edge of my seat and had so many plot twists that I couldn’t always predict which was fantastic! I loved how the ending completely tied up the series and left no loose ends.

At the end of the first book I actually cried! I was so elated when Ariana was saved. The second book was all about trying to build trust and get past their own misgivings and was portrayed very well. But the last book was my absolute favourite. I loved the twists and turns it took and how gentle Serena was such an incredibly strong character who was intent on saving Rand and as much as I guessed who Calandra was, Silas’ really surprised me!!

I would definitely recommend these books!

I#1 Heart of the Hunter
I must admit that this book took a great deal to get through. I believe I had read the story, years ago, but I could not recall it, or where it lead. I did have a feeling of dread, not wanting to experience the torment it's words would reveal.
It is a good tale, and it's not as bleak in its final chapters as you would fear.
Looking forward to the continuing story in the next book.

#2 Heart of the Flame

She had been caught up in a fight for the Dragon Chalice. Sent for one purpose, she tried to negate the situation that occurred. However, she was nearly killed, and found only due to her feverish state.
He hunted the two other cups, and had left something with his dearest friend, Randwulf of Greycliff. It sickened him to discover the terrible fate handed to the small family. Perhaps the girl her found almost on death's door could help him find what he was missing.

#3 Heart of the Dove

The saga continues. The four original segments of the Dragon Chalice have now had three parts found, two of which are now one cup, with two stones.
The search for the third takes a revengeful Randwulf of Greycliff towards Scotland, where the last cup was believed to be, by all the information accumulated by Kenrick of Clairmont.
However, things go awry, and Rand ends up being dragged overboard in the height of a storm.
What happens next is the most remarkable part of this tale. No, I am not going further, as my attempt at a synapses of the story, will not give you the insight that the writer's own words will do.
Yes, definitely, a story worth pursuing.

I just finished the Dragon Chalice Series & I loved it. I had a very hard time putting it down to do very much of anything. I loved the male characters & the way they were with the Ladies ...so glad it ended the way it did but it would have been nice to have 1 last chapter or two on how they all made out with their families.

This is a 3 book series pertaining to a dragon chalice that was removed from the land of the Fae and it was separated into 4 parts and flung to the corners of the world. This book deals in the story line of finding each part of the chalice. It was good and did keep my interest but it fell flat during parts of it and had a hard time to finish it.

Happy and sad

I got the first book free. I bought the trilogy. I loved the story line. The few typos made no difference. If you love historical romance, you will love these books.
