In a shattered world where plague-born mutants stalk the ruins and ruthless corporate overlords hold what's left of humanity in a steel grip, hope wears claws.
K2, an elite bioengineered feline soldier—once designed to be a mindless enforcer for Nexcorp—has broken free. Now he leads the F.E.L.I.X. Unit, a squad of rogue feline warriors fighting to help human survivors reclaim their future.
But freedom comes at a cost.
As K2 and his team train a ragtag force of humans, wage brutal raids against Nexcorp strongholds, and battle unspeakable horrors unleashed by the plague, a deeper conspiracy begins to unfold—one that threatens not just their lives, but the fragile hope they fight to preserve.
Kombat Kat – Rise of the F.E.L.I.X. Unit is the gripping first volume in a dark, dystopian sci-fi action series. Packed with visceral combat, tense survival, and unforgettable characters, it’s a brutal fight for freedom—led by the most unlikely of heroes.
Ok, this was a book that was interesting. I liked the idea of cats being genetically manipulated into soldiers. There was even a 'why' briefly explained for the reason cats were chosen.
However, did you know they use hollow handle tacticle knives? Because I sure did. It felt like almost every chapter mentioned the specific brand or type of knife they used. That quickly got old.
Very gorey, this book is not cute and fluffy. It is gritty, dark and full of wartime complications and hard decisions.
