An oath unfulfilled... A curse unstoppable... A world running out of time...
For years, Jaron and his friends have been waging a losing war against the sinister power lurking within the mountains. But when a troublesome stranger rides into the city looking for the heir to the throne of Carasul, Jaron's already unstable world is thrown into convulsions as he embarks on a perilous search for the hidden realm of Losia.
Haunted by the ruins of a traumatic childhood, Jaron is an unlikely candidate for a mission that will ultimately determine the fate of the entire Aramant. He finds himself caught up in a desperate race against time to save a world he didn't think he loved from the encroaching evil of Nimrah. But what he discovers is not what he expected and his journey makes him question everything that led him to it, bringing him up against a dark magic that threatens to consume his life.

What is not to love about this book. One of my main complaints about most novels is character development, Not at all the case with this author. I felt I personally knew every character in the book. This is a very detailed but never boring book that brings another world to life. I can't wait to read more from this author.
This young writer of Young Adult fantasy has incredible promise. The characters are well-developed, the plot is anything but predictable and the swirling undercurrents of poetry are nothing short of delightful. The word pictures employed by the author are fresh and profound enough to make you yearn for more. The book is self-contained but could clearly be used as the beginning of a series. I certainly hope that is in the works.
