Because all of us need those moments when the Word of God satisfies the hunger inside for more of His presence. And the only way to find them is to knock on the door, ask the question, seek the truth. So every day we go, sifting through the Word again, looking for more of Him.
Natasha Metzler doesn’t have a whole list of credentials to tell you about, but she does have the incredible story of how God met her in the midst of her greatest sorrows and brought redemption.
Her deepest hope and prayer is that every part of her life may be marked by conversation with the Father.
These devotionals are quick and easy to read, and like a good snack, are chock full of good protein, essential vitamins and minerals for the soul. I'll be returning to the truth-filled parables and wise explanations of Scripture again and again.
ARG! I wish I could keep some of Natasha's books on my shelf! They're all so great I'm constantly giving mine away and buying more. Ok, so that's a good problem, I guess. Anyway, Word Snacks is a great devotional based on Scripture and snippets of real life. I love the thought-provoking, soul-searchingness of this book. The only slight downside is that the personal stories in it don't seem to be exactly in chronological order, so if you don't follow Natasha's (awesome) blog or know her story, then you might find yourself kinda scratching your head during a couple parts when she hops from one time to another. That really is totally a side issue though, since this is a devotional, not a narrative. The main part is very wholesome and worth the read. It makes me want to dig into my Bible and read more, which is a very good fruit and effect!
Natasha Metzler writes in a heart-restoring way. She's honest about pain and sorrow, but she never loses hope. That's why I love reading her writing. Pain Redeemed is that kind of book that changes your life, helps you see faith in a different way, and inspires you to live it out daringly. WordSnacks is just that kind of book again.
Another thing I love about Natasha's writing? Her love for Jesus and belief that His Word is not just enriching but necessarily nourishing. She reads the Bible not just because we should but because we must.
And here she breaks down moments in Scripture for those moments in your life when you're weary or hungry or both. Need a little encouragement? Pick up WordSnacks. Let Natasha Metzler minister to you through the most powerful Words of all.
Yes, it took me way too long to read this. However, I would say that this devotional is one of the best I've read. Deeply encouraging and convicting and from the heart.
