Enjoyable... Very omg mysterious with a little sexy on the side.
Nathan found his love, love of his life Jessica. But his siter Sherry isn't too fond of her and has her suspicious.
Jessica has a grudge that isnt her's. Its either blood or water. She must make someone important happy thinking that'll make herself happy. Its either do as told and possible lose Nathan or do not do it. She finds herself finding out the truth to her past. Nathan finds himself questioning his love.
The character named Jessica Bolton was as cray-cray as her half-sis Jacqueline Tate aka Jamie aka Sissy. Both deserve to be in prison together in Atlanta, GA. You get a chilling roller coaster ride when you read this book. It took me one day to finish Book #2 and I would recommend the series to others. I gave this one 4****. Now on to read Book #3.
4.5 Good connection of characters. I found the storyline to have good drama as Jessica seemed just as devious with her plans. Although she had assistance, her inability to make better decisions made her just as dangerous. Just when I thought she had changed for the better, she struck again and has me ready to find out what happens next in the series.
The Perfect Deception by Lutishia Lovely 312-page Paperback story ends on 299 The Shady Sisters Trilogy #2
Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Romance
Featuring: Atlanta, Georgia; Previous Sample - The Perfect Affair Chapter 1, Sex - Explicit Details, Bahamas, Family Drama, Discussion Questions
Rating as a movie: X-rated
My rating:🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My thoughts: Page 27 of 299/312 Ch. 5 - I've already have to plot, so now I just need to watch it play out. 📖 100 Ch. 18 - This has gotten really good. My eyes are tired; otherwise, I'd be in this book all night.
It started off a tad slow, but once it got going, it was full speed ahead. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this once I got to the plot, but I did, although a few parts were predictable.
Recommend to others?: Yes. I am willing to recommend this entire series based on these 2 books.

Deception ~ the act of making someone believe something that is not true. How many times have we deceived others whether for good or bad? How many times have you been deceived? Did you like how it felt either deceiving or being deceived? We are back with the second installment of the Shady Sister Trilogy, The Perfect Deception and there is some deception going on in this book. The question is what will the outcome be? Who will be successful, the deceiver or the person being deceived?
Jessica Bolton is a beautiful, thriving young woman who any man would want but she only has eyes on one man in particular. Jessica hasn't always had the confidence needed to have her choice of men, considering the hard upbringing that she has had but she is getting much better. Jessica is basically a loner so trusting comes hard to her, until she meets Nathan Carver and everything changes. Nathan is everything that she could every want in a man plus more and Jessica wants that more, but what is stopping her from getting that.
Nathan Carver is a very successful man who comes from a successful family. Nathan doesn't let his wealth dictate who he is, he has charm and charisma and is handsome to boot so he has no problem getting women. When Nathan meets Jessica his world stops spinning. Nathan feels she is the most beautiful, kind, caring woman that he has ever met and he wants her for his own. Nathan realizes that she has had a hard childhood and she is very private but he wants to be there for her to give her whatever she may need. Little does Nathan know that Jessica is going to need a little more than he is willing to give.
The Perfect Deception is the perfect follow-up book to The Perfect Affair (book 1 in the series). It continues with that same intensity and drama from the first installation and the characters give you all of the drama and crazy that you can handle! I love the detail that Lovely uses in this book, lets you know that either she has done her research or she is a psychopath but either way it makes for intense reading. The Perfect Deception does not release until November 25, 2014 but it is available for pre-order so that you can be ready to be deceived right along with the rest of us!
This story was another version of an unrealistic lifetime movie....The female lead Jessica was dealing with low self-esteem and mental health issues....She basically tortured Nathan for months and attempting to slowly kill him with the use of poison (antifreeze & arsenic)......extremely long story short, this crazy lady basically got away with attempted murder, because suddenly starting feeling sorry for her and "dropping the charges" against her...well, the unrealistic portion of it is the fact that any type of District Attorney/Prosecutor will continue on with the attempted murder charges. Also the fact that her sister who was already in prison was simply able to get away with another crime. Some of the verbiage use in this story just didn't fit, parts of this very unnecessarily long story was even elementary like.....and who on earth would want to drop charges against the person who tried to kill them? Just not realistic! She wasn't made to undergo therapy....this lady really was as crazy as her sister Jaqueline (From Book 1). How many people don't really know what's going on with their siblings, especially when they're charged with a crime. The narration was decent.
The book didn't pick up until the very end. Don't get me wrong, the storyline is great & the author really gives you a very deep & descriptive background of the characters to the point that you'll feel that you know every thing about them as if they were real people, BUT I also felt that it took too long for the story to pick up. Once it did towards the end, the twists & turns never stopped, & so of course, you eventually end the book believing that the storyline/book was awesome. One minute you'll love & feel sorry for Jessica and the next you'll hate her. You'll probably hate Jacqueline all the way throughout the book (and series) though. Overall, it was a good read. Hopefully the next book in this series won't take forever just to get to the juicy parts!
Jessica is not supposed to fall in love with Nathan. She's supposed to get revenge on Sherri (Nathan's sister) for taking the love of her sister Jacqueline's life away. Randall is married to Sherri, but Jacqueline, in all her delusion has decided that she's the one that should be with Randall. But since she's locked away and can't get revenge, she has manipulated her sister Jessica to do it, by using Nathan. Nathan falls in love with Jessica and even asks her to marry him, but when he finds out she's not all she's cracked up to be, will it be too late? Sherri has never taken a liking to Jessica, but sometimes people are blinded by love. Or are they? Read: May 2015
What length would you go to in order to find true love and or family? Jessica has had a very hard life growing up without either. Now she thinks she has found both. But now she has to decide which is more important true love or family. Lutishia Lovely has written another great book full of twists and turns in the life of Jessica Bolton. Lovely's writing has a way of capturing your attention at the beginning and keeps you wanting to read more to see what happens. I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this books to see what happens to Jessica. You are in for a treat.
A worthy successor to the first book in this trilogy. This book will make you stay awake long after you should be asleep trying to find out how this story will end. I can't imagine how the characters will fare after the revealing and shocking ending of this book. I look forward to hearing more about Dev's story in the next book.
Lutisha Lovely is one of my favorite authors. I have read every book she has written. Not once have I been disappointed this ends leaving the readers anticipating the next in this series. The only thing that surprised me is that the editing was not as good as her other novels.
Can you say a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️page turner. I really enjoyed this book. Jacquline was far more crazier than Jessica I was so hoping she did not try to go through with it, I could not put this book down I read it in less than 12 hours. I can't wait for the third one.
This book was the truth; everyone MUST read this!!! The craziest in book 2 of The Shady Sisters trilogy definitely had me on the edge of my seat! Lutishia done the damn thing with this one. I can't wait for the release of the final book in this series!
OMG!!! This book kept me guessing all the way through. I couldn't put it down. Very good. I can't wait until the final book. Can't imagine what it will be about.
Is blood thicker than water? In this novel, you get a glimpse into another Shady Sister life and Nathan who happens to Sherri Atwater's brother. Jessica Bolton is a woman who has been through a whole lot in her life and is dating Nathan who treats her very good. Here's the thing: she's not supposed to fall in love with this man. She is stuck in the middle of a situation between choosing him and her sister.
I have to say that this book was good but it could've been a little bit better. The story didn't get good until the end and I was disappointed with that. It also was kind of repetitive and I was getting bored after a while. I liked the suspense and plot. Jessica wasn't as crazy as Jackie but that ending though. *shakes head* Honestly, I felt bad Jessica because she had such a rough childhood and I don't blame her being as crazy as she was. I hated how she agreed to fall in love with Nate without knowing the whole motive behind it. Im gonna read book 3 to see what's gonna happen with Jackie cutting up again lol.
I enjoyed this story-a lot. Jessica meets and falls in love with the handsome educated well to do Nathan while living in Atlanta. Nathan cannot believe his good fortune in meeting her but Jessica set the whole thing up because she promised her sister she would do her a huge favor for her. This story has a few twist and turns a few that were predictable but a good story all the same. I won't give away too many details but Jessica's sister is the most sane person in the world.
This book kept me turning pages. From love to deception, from family to friendships, from blood to water, from right to wrong what would we do just to have a genuine connection that makes us belong, feel part of the universe, be part of the American dream? Oh but look at what happens when we practice to deceive!
This was a good read and entertaining, but I didn't like the ending at all. Nathan is a pushover and I can't believe he made the decisions in the end that he made. I didn't realize this was a part 2 when I read it however. Though whatever happened in part 1 would only explain the situation between Nathan and his sister with Jessica's sister.
Read this book for Book Club. It was not my typical read, but it was a quick easy read. The story did hold my interest and was somewhat entertaining. I will admit, I will probably go back to search for Books #1 and #3 in the trilogy.
It was a suspense to see what would happen next and and a pleasant change that the book didn’t have predictable ending. She’s is a easier writer Straight to the point and keeps the pages turning
Whew! I really enjoyed this novel. Many times I wanted to shout no, don't trust her Nate..LOL Other times I was thinking...darn Nate, you're not that smart. I can't wait to read the third book.
