A good biography, but almost a better insight into the time in which it was written.

Actually, I abandoned this 180 pages in. I'm mostly ok with a biography of Charles Sumner which doesn't mention his WIFE, because they were separated, in a move to protect Sumner's image. But, this author, yes, it is 1926, goes on for several pages and repeats on multiple occasions that Whitman would have been a more balanced, better poet had he had a wife. Perhaps this is not a balanced biography
