Overall, I was pleased with this Bible (apart from the cover being different than the dust jacket). Dust jacket covers never last long in my house with 3 kids and I thought it was such a cute cover. The actual cover is just black with Holy Bible on it. There were some really good quotes that hit home and I shared with friends. The devotions are short and easily laid out to fit in in the morning. I like that it provided a years worth of devotions. Some of the devotions were of course deeper than others and a few dealt with topics that were not necessarily relevant to me personally, but the words and thoughts were still good. I wish they were a little more meaty in context and scriptures surrounding them and a little less fluffy application. I would recommend this Bible for an older teenager or a young adult woman (early-mid twenties). The Bible is easy to navigate, read and understand. It also has a helpful index of word terms, which is always nice for cross-referencing scripture. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

I have a very worn out, well used, stuffed with treasures, NIV Women's Devotional Bible that is over 20 years old. The brand new NIV Bible for Women that is published this month is a similar but updated bible that I know I will treasure.

The NIV Bible for Women is the type of bible that you linger over. It has 260 devotions for weekdays and 52 myths to ponder on weekends. This is a great bible for women looking for a bible that will stimulate their prayer life. It has "Reflect" questions and "Pray" prompts that will be particularly helpful for new Christians as well as those further in their walk.

The NIV Bible for Women has an introduction by Shauna Niequist who is a contemporary Christian author and speaker. I have enjoyed her books Savor and Bread & Wine. The authors of the insightful devotions are also contemporary Christians leaders and authors. I always enjoy reading a women's insight when I am spending quiet time studying the Word. Devotions such as these open up your mind and give you a contemporary context for biblical writings.

I am very pleased with the NIV Bible for Women. It is a great bible for women and a great bible to give as a gift. Highly recommend.

It’s a bit difficult rating a Bible, so my rating is solely on the essays. I went through and read ones by authors I recognized as well as ones I randomly flipped to. There are two reasons I gave this a 4/5 star rating: First, I wish the essays were a bit more spread out. For the most part, they are sprinkled throughout the Bible, but there are several sections with 3-4 essays all in a row. It seemed to interrupt the flow. But, as a devotional book, I’m not sure the flow is necessary.

The second is a small criticism, but many of the essays were republished from blog posts and books. I was hoping for all new content. (Though that was never advertised.) Especially for authors who I have followed for a while and whose books I’ve read, it didn’t feel fresh.

**I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for my opinion.**

I liked some of the bible studies in here, but as a single woman, most of them felt unrelatable. most of the women writers wrote about their lives (understandably), meaning as a wife and mother. i think many woman would find this a really wonderful resource, it's just not for me.
