Most people follow a path that wasn't designed for them. They take advice from people who don't know them, chase goals that don't excite them, and wonder why everything feels like a struggle.
The problem isn’t effort. It's alignment.
In Do What Works for You, bestselling author Thibaut Meurisse shows you how to stop living someone else's life and start living your own.
You will
How to recognize the signs that your current path is working against you, not for youHow to use introspection and real-world experimentation to uncover what you're actually built forHow to turn your personality, quirks and weird habits into an unfair advantageHow to filter out bad advice, ignore the wrong gurus, and trust your own judgmentWhat to do when nothing seems to work—and how to stop wasting time on the wrong pathMost self-help books tell you what worked for someone else. This one helps you figure out what works for you.
Oddly, I’m not convinced that the author’s way of finding what works for me actually works for me. It seems predicated on a lot of freedom that most people don’t actually have in life. But it’s a decent book, and a quick enough read that there’s no harm done in reading it. Some folks may benefit tremendously, but I think many underachievers could easily adopt it as an excuse for not doing anything that they done enjoy, and that’s just not real life.
I found this book useful and enjoyed completing the action points and reflecting on my current circumstances. I now have a good idea of my goals and a way to achieve them.
I am finding that shorter Pd that get straight to the point are better. I also love the action steps at the end of each chapter for you to think about how to put it into action.
Sometimes short books that get to the heart of the matter are worth ten times more than lengthy diatribes that try to sell you on a course that someone is selling. A glorified infomercial. Not this book. This is a great book of practical easy to follow guidance that, like all of Thibaut's books, come into my view at the right time. Thanks for helping me to figure out what works for my AuDHD brain. Highly recommend!
