Step into the shadows… if you dare. This brutal collection delivers 60 spine-tingling flash horror stories, each forged under a cruel 1,000 words or less—no mercy, no filler.
Every month, authors faced a new twisted theme. Most didn’t make it. Only five stories survived each round, and one author emerged as the Grand Prize Winner, proving their nightmare was the most unforgettable of all.
These stories hit fast and linger long. Every page drips with dread, designed to shock, disturb, and crawl under your skin before you even realize what’s happening.
Turn the page… Just don’t expect the darkness to let you go when you’re done.
Review: Flashes Of Darkness - An anthology of Horror Flash Fiction curated by Patrick McNulty
Sixty amazing horror flash fiction stories that were winners (and Grand Prize winners) in Patrick's Horror Flash Fiction contest from last year, and I'm lucky enough to have been one of those Grand Prize winners but, although I have a story in this anthology, my review is based on the overall book and the stories within. What I like about books like this is that you can read them when you have a few spare minutes during a work break, on your daily commute, or even on the toilet🤣 as each story is Flash fiction, i.e. a 1000 words or less, and there are sixty of these super fast reads within. Although each monthly contest had a theme, each story has a unique perspective on that theme, and there are some amazing authors within this collection. Highly recommended. Five out of five horrific skulls 💀💀💀💀💀
