PJ Norris continues his trek around Kingscountry in search of more dragon shifters. He and his best friend Grant arrive in the town of Cheshireville, which had a nearby secret magical enclave that safely hid creatures during the reign of the evil queen.
But all is not well in the small a monstrous creature has been frightening the citizenry at night, and Firewing Investigations is hired to get to the bottom of things.PJ hopes this is the dragon shifter he's been searching for, but as he's learned, anything is possible in a magical town.
PJ Norris and the Hamlet with the Monster Situation is the third book in the Firewing Investigations cozy fantasy series.
S. Usher Evans is an author, blogger, and witty banter aficionado. Born in Pensacola, Florida, she left the sleepy town behind for the fast-paced world of Washington, D.C.. There, she somehow landed jobs with BBC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Television before finally settling into a "real job" as an IT consultant. After a quarter life crisis at age 27, she decided consulting was for the birds and rekindled a childhood passion for writing novels. She sold everything she owned and moved back to Pensacola, where she currently resides with her two dogs, Zoe and Mr. Biscuit.
This was an interesting and intriguing story that I wasn’t expecting, but it was really really good. PJ and Grant stumble across this faded broken down half sign in the middle of the road pointing towards this town that is definitely off the beaten path and when they get there, they figure there’s nothing much going on but crazy things start happening and of course Tim the dragon has his say so and everything and I love him. The dragons witch and banter is one of the best. I kind of have suspected what was going on about halfway through the book when some things were pointed out as missing, but I still didn’t know who the culprit was until the big reveal. Absolutely love this series. It is so good. I’m looking forward to reading it with my boys.
Audiobook: Caleb Summers is the best for PJ. I love his narration. It feels like you’re there with pj and time. Perfect narrator for this series!! I can’t wait to hear more!
PJ Norris and the Hamlet with the Monster Situation was just as cozy and fun as the first two books in the series!
I loved returning to PJ and Grant as they explored magical towns and investigated strange happenings. Cheshireville, with its secret forest enclave and quirky townsfolk, was such a charming setting. The mystery was fun and kept me entertained as always!
I hope S. Usher Evans returns to PJ again in the future!
Lots of fun. PJ grows a little bit with every story, and Grant was more helpful than obnoxious this time, so he seems to be growing, too. I love how Evans seems to find the best in every character and lets it come out during the course of the story. I also loved the hooks back to The Weary Dragon Inn series. I really look forward to the next adventure.
I loved this third installment of PJ, Grant, and Tim’s adventures. Fantastic new magicals and even some Pigsend connections for the Weary Dragon fans. I’m thrilled to see more PJ stories are scheduled soon.
I enjoyed reading about PJ and Grant's experience in the magical forest. S. Usher Evans creates such wonderful magical worlds! This time PJ and Grant are monster hunting. It's a warm cozy book, with adventures and mystery. I can't wait for the next one!
This was such a great story! I really love this Weary Dragon Inn spinoff, and seeing familiar characters along with the new. Can't wait to read more of PJ and Grant's adventures!
I did not see the ending coming. I thought the plot twists were fun and especially enjoyed the creature in the forest that was supposed to be causing havoc but actually seems to be a decent fellow.
