Eat His Words

The Scoville scale was not designed to measure sexual tension, but here we are.

As the host of the viral Sweet Heat show, I’ve built a career feeding celebrities desserts so spicy they should come with legal waivers. My guests sweat, cry, curse my name, and occasionally question every decision that led them to my kitchen. It’s gourmet chaos that makes fans go feral.

Then Niccolò de Rosa agrees to be a guest.

Yes, that Niccolò.

Three Michelin stars. Killer Italian accent. Ego whipped to stiff peaks.

The man who once called my desserts “what happens when a pastry chef mistakes psychological warfare for a cooking technique.”

I’ve been hopelessly in love with him ever since, because apparently my type is arrogant men who compare my baking to crimes against humanity.

My plan is simple. Blindfold Niccolò while feeding him increasingly unholy desserts to make the arrogant jerk eat every sassy word he’s ever said about me.

What I didn’t expect is Niccolò treating every bite like flirting, every argument like foreplay, and for the world’s most intimidating chef to look at me like I’m his favorite challenge.

Suddenly, I’m faced with a shocking possibility.

What if the man I’ve spent years wanting is starting to want me back?

If I’m lucky, we’re about to give the phrase “chef’s kiss” a whole new meaning.

Eat His Words is a steamy MM romantic comedy featuring culinary insults, a celebrity chef that makes “open wide” sound like naughty innuendo, and two men who should probably stop flirting through professional hostility.

This novella was originally published as Sweet Heat in the Delicious anthology. It has a new epilogue added for this version.

'Eat His Words' written by Ariella Zoelle (Kindle)

Great fun! Loved all the foody stuff descriptions and the MCs ongoing banter. Now I'm hungry for some of that Cheesecake with Chiles! (sigh) It all sounded yummy...except for that desert with the Scorpion Chiles (shudder)!

Two thumbs up! 👍👍

A MM rom-com novella where 2 Chefs flirt with creative insults, age-gap (~18yrs), fun TV show, & shooting his shot 😏. This was a sweet & spicy story (pun intended). It's humorous, hilarious, smutty & cute.
It may be short & but I loved it! I grabbed the #ARC as the cover's cute & blurb's fun. Devoured it in 2hrs, in one seating when the lights were out 😂. I loved Adler & Niccolò! My 1 qualm will be, A's told to be a twink but N+A look similarly built on cover.

Niccolò is the older chef with Gordan Ramsey vibes. He has a sarcastic, witty on-stage persona but is warm & charming too. N values his independence & typically runs when a partner wants commitment, yet... 😉
Adler's the 24-year-old younger chef who is a viral sensation now. He's playful, cheeky, smartass who likes insults & praise. Mix of sadistic & masochist lol. A has a BIG crush on N 😁.

They both have their own food related shows, but the star of this book is Ad's show which Nic finally guest-stars in! Spicy desserts 🔥, insults & revenge 😉. N+A have quite the rivalry (flirting?) going on, & whoa, they heat up the show 🥵.

I like how as the MCs know eachother already, despite this story being fast-paced, it doesn't feel too fast. I'm happy when A gets the chance, he takes it! Even N, despite his worries. Their chemistry sparks & their love language is similar.

The scene where A gets shy & N coaxes A to tell is so sweet 🤭. Plus, a Ratatouille like moment ❤️, & that "mine"? Yes!! I'd've felt it's OTT but wasn't 🥰. I'm happy how they discussed making it work & we even get an epilogue showing it 😍.

Story Ratings:
POV: 1st person, Dual POV

Eat His Word by Ariella Zoelle is an MM Celebrity Crush Romance and a Sunnyside Stand Alone. It is the story of an older celebrity chef with a TV show and a younger one with an internet show who has had a crush on him for a long time and how they come together through some spicey food and decide to become a couple. Niccolo de Rosa is a 3 Michelin Star chef and has over 50 international restaurants. He is very outspoken and tells it just like it is, often insulting others, and he doesn’t really care. He has a show called Under Pressure that pits professional chefs against social media influencers and doesn’t hold back on giving them to anyone whose cooking doesn’t come up to his standards. Adler Sutton has idolized him since he was 13 and used his image and his insults to satisfy other needs that he might have. He’s 24 and 4 years ago started an internet show with his friend Jerome doing the filming called Sweet Heat where he gives his guests 5 desserts he has made with increasingly higher heat on the Scoville scale until the last one nearly kills them. He also talks to them about their lives in between each dessert. It has become very popular and Niccolo’s publicist wants him to go on it to get younger influencers who watch it to come on his show. He is aghast at this idea, especially since he has hurled nothing but insults at it, but in the end concedes. Adler is nearly beside himself when he comes on because he has wanted this for so long and is sure to tell him to spend the entire time insulting him if he wants to. And to make it interesting he blindfolds him and feeds him each dessert. Niccolo is 42 and a very seasoned chef so he can tell what Adler has put in each one along with the spices that make them hot and he is very surprised at how good they are. In between each bite they talk about the dessert and how much heat is in it as well as questions about his life and some suggestive things too. They have a lively banter going and are flirting with each other, which Adler can hardly believe. Niccolo does well until he gets to the last one that has him coughing like he “tongued an active volcano”. All this time his attraction to Adler is growing and he’s not sure why. Meanwhile Adler is beside himself and asks him to let him make dinner for him, especially after Niccolo praised his cooking and told him he had real talent and he found himself reacting to not only the insults but the praise too. Niccolo agrees and finds himself watching Adler cook. He is wildly competitive and says what he means, just like Niccolo, and when his ideas get very suggestive they end up doing some steamy things with each other and with the pull Niccolo feels towards him they find themselves partaking in some very hot love scenes and then eating a wonderful dinner. They both want to take it to the bedroom but Adler wants him to try his dessert first because it’s one he learned that Niccolo’s Nonna had made for him when he was young. It was like heaven to him and brought back many wonderful memories and he realized Adler had made it for him with love. He had always valued his freedom and didn’t have boyfriends but when Adler tells him he wants to be his forever it feels right because he wants the real Niccolo. So they both go all in and Niccolo is staying in Sunnyside as he opens a new restaurant there which is a mixture of sweet and spicy, just like the two of them are because their lives have blended together. I really enjoyed this short story. Adler is so funny, especially when handing out his spicy desserts and in bantering back and forth with Niccolo. He’s also forward because he tells him what he wants to do with him almost right away and Niccolo finds him intriguing. Niccolo really didn’t want to go on his show and he was very surprised at both Adler and that his cooking was so good, even though he did not like how spicy things became at the end. He didn’t think he would like Adler but once they shared dinner, he realized how drawn to him he was and had never before felt that. Luckily they were able to figure out a way to be together and their feelings only grew. And not only is the food spicy, but there are many spicy love scenes throughout the story. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories about a chef who likes to insult other’s cooking, especially if he finds it subpar, a younger man how has idolized him for most of his life and loves his insults, a fun show that brings them together, and how high heat, both in food and in other parts of their lives has them blending their lives together with happiness.

MY OPINION: I’ve never read anything by this author, so this short story was a good start in getting to know their style. I enjoyed the book overall, and it made me want to pick up more stories in the Sunnyside universe. Billed as a standalone, you get a sense of how the books will go.

Drawing on events in the world today, we meet an older Chef who has plenty of opinions, is Italian, and is famous. Working on building his social media presence, it is a natural decision (albeit he goes in grumpy) to participate in a show with spicy desserts getting hotter with each bite (similar to current social media shows).

This easy-to-read story takes you through their attraction to a happily ever after. The two of them have a rhythm with each other that can’t be denied. Details about the desserts and food are plentiful. If you like a good food story, then you are going to adore this.

There are some great spice scenes, open door, but not overly explicit. The characters are fun and funny, giving you a glimpse of their non-public persona. There are some interesting kinks discussed. I say pick it up if you are looking for something to read before bed, or at the pool, maybe the beach you’ll walk away with a smile for sure

Ariella Zoelle had me with "I’ve been hopelessly in love with him ever since, because apparently my type is arrogant men who compare my baking to crimes against humanity."(from the blurb).
"Eat His Words" is the story of two chefs. Adler Sutton has an internet baking show, Sweet Heat, which features serving five desserts to guests with increasing spice and heat components. Niccolo de Rosa is a three star Michelin chef owner of more than 50 international restaurants. Adler has had a crush on the older chef for over ten years.
Niccolo, with a temperament worthy of Gordon Ramsey, reluctantly invites the younger chef to appear on his television show. They clash. Surprised over Adler's talent, Niccolo allows himself to be blindfolded and hand fed desserts. There's praise and insults. Lots of flirting. High heat sizzle factor. The pair are evenly matched despite an 18 year age gap. In the kitchen and in the bedroom.
This was a fun, quick read. A ghost pepper level of heat. Two very intelligent, engaging mains. A sweet romcom sure to leave readers wanting more.
I received an advanced copy of this ebook and this is my review.

This is an MM Celebrity Crush romance featuring a sassy, spicy dessert influencer and a somewhat snobby world renowned chef. It’s super short and definitely spicy in more ways than just its desserts.

I can’t imagine anyone making—or especially eating—the desserts described in this book but I couldn’t help but be tickled at our two MCs and their (not at all) veiled insults. They were hilarious! All their joking aside, they each had the odd moments of vulnerability, which I absolutely LOVED and that ended up making them more real to me as characters than dry, one dimensional ones. I ended up devouring the book in around an hour or so and loved it; I’m excited now to find out who the next book is gonna be about!

Readers who are looking for a light and fluffy romance with lots of humor and absolutely no angst or drama are gonna love this little gem! I can’t think of even one negative thing about it so I recommend you grab it today! 5 stars

I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.

Arc read

I read the blurb and I was in aww for wanting this book since then, I knew I had to pick this up and review it .That line about falling for arrogant men who insult your baking was too funny to ignore and catchyy ngl ...

Eat His Words was such a fun and entertaining read and I really want you guys to read it and tell your thoughts on them , Adler and Niccolo had amazing chemistry from the very beginning. Their back and forth playful arguments and flirting kept me smiling the whole time. I loved seeing two incredibly talented chefs challenge each other while slowly giving in to their feelings. You know the feeling as a reader ig ??

The age gap never felt awkward because they were equals in every way. The baking scenes were so much fun and the romance had the perfect mix of sweetness, tension, and spice all mixed together in one ... sadly it was a short read but it never felt rushed tbh .

If you're looking for a lighthearted MM romance with witty banter, great chemistry, and plenty of heat i would definitely recommend this one champ !!!

Adler and Niccolo's romance was a sweet and spicy treat! I adored Niccolo's sharp tongue and Adler's witty innuendos, and together they were endlessly entertaining. I thought the premise of an experienced, Gordon Ramsay-esque chef going onto a Hot Ones style internet show hosted by a man who idolized him was intriguing, and their chemistry during filming was through the roof. The dual narrative allowed me to see that both men were feeling the heat, so when the cameras turned off I was excited that they decided to continue their night together. For a novella length story, the spicy elements were delightfully indulgent, and I was charmed by the way these men let their food speak their feelings. The ending provided a hopeful sneak peek at how they had started blending their lives to live happily ever after!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Absolutely fantastic!

I loved this book! The story of Adler and Niccolo is sweet and spicy and a whole lot of fun to read! Niccolo is a professional chef who has nothing but criticism for Adler and his show. Adler makes spicy desserts that he serves to his guests in between questions about themselves and their careers. Niccolo finally agrees to be on the show and is very surprised by Adler’s talent for making desserts. The two will end up having dinner together and it will change everything. Niccolo is not one for relationships but the care, love and talent Adler shows with dinner and dessert will have Niccolo changing his mind and embarking on a wonderful relationship with Adler and I love how their story ends!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

This was a fun, light-hearted rom-com packed with delicious food descriptions, sharp banter and plenty of chemistry. The dynamic between Jasper and Niccolò was entertaining from the start, with their playful rivalry and constant back-and-forth keeping me smiling throughout.

The cooking show setting was a real highlight, especially the increasingly outrageous spicy desserts and the reactions they inspired. The humour landed well, and the flirtation hidden beneath their professional sparring made their connection all the more enjoyable.

I also loved how food was woven into every part of the story. Be warned: reading this book may leave you craving cheesecake and other sweet treats. Thankfully, the romance was just as satisfying as the desserts.

A quick, charming read full of laughs, sparks and culinary chaos.

"‘Adler’s desserts are all style, no substance. It’s like biting into a painting of a cake and choking on the frame.’"

In typical Ariella Zoelle fashion she hits this one out of the park. What a fun cute story that I didn't want to put down, I finished this all in one go.

This novella had a bit of everything in it. Ariella has a way with the pen and the comedy in this one had me laughing till I had tears in my eyes. I've never thought of anyone using Gordon Ramsay as a muse but it worked.

18 year age gap, childhood crush, kinks one didn't even realize they had, the Scoville scale got a workout, brings the heat in multiple ways

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 rounded

Eat His Words is full of heat both in and out of the kitchen. Thank you, @ariellazoelle & Neon Rainbow, for this novella. Eat His Words was previously part of Delicious Anthology published as Sweat Heat. But this spicy novella comes with an epilogue and bonus content. Michelin Star Chef Niccolò goes on Adler, a Social Media Chefs program, and the foreplay begins! Niccolò was Adler teenage awakening, and at 24, he is not letting this opportunity pass him by.

Short (novella) and sweet (all about dessert). Also, very cute.

Adler has a show called Sweet Heat, where he gets someone to come on and try his increasingly hot desserts, while having a conversation between rounds. It's like that youtube show with the hot sauce - can't think of the name of it - except with desserts. Three Michelin Star chef Niccolo comes on the show to up his following, and they flirt their way through the episode. The flirting leads to more and they get their HEA.

Cute, funny, no real drama (it's not long enough for that).

Getting culinarey flirt on is delicious! This story, sizzles! Niccolo, is an excellent credentialed awarded Chef and he knows it. He is assurred, opinionated and maybe a bit arrogant and has his own TV show. Adler, is younger has a challenging Internet show that challenges traditional Chefs and has thought Noccolo the cats' meow since he was a teenager. They have opinions about each other that are not always nice and are not afraid to express themselves. When they meet, their interactions are heated flirty and a bit personal. Great story! Fun read, great characters, sweet flow, nicely done.

First time reading this author. This is a pretty fast read. Age gap MM romance between 2 chefs - one a 3 Michelin star chef and the other a host of a viral video show that pushing the limits of heat added to desserts. This is a fast burn, low-angst romance. The banter is a quick-witted and of a harder humor nature with the two roasting each other. ARC provided for Honest review provided for no monetary gain.

Niccolo is badgered by his publicist Zazie to appear on Adler Sutton's video Sweet Heat. Addler's show has a celebrity guest sampling desserts of increasingly higher levels of heat. Nic is known for his lambasting of Adler's talent. Let the games begin. Adler immediately blindfolds Nic. Nic tries the desserts and lets loose with his caustic comments. As the heat rises in the desserts, so does the heat in the flirting. Maybe there is more to them after all.

This is a fun and engaging story. The heat between Adler and Niccolo burns with an intensity that is hard to miss. When Niccolo appears on Adler’s show the fans eat it up. The chemistry between the two is something else as it burns off the pages. I enjoyed the banter and the interactions these two have. Both men have strong personalities and they work well together. Their story is a fast paced read that brings the heat in more than one way.

I’ve read this author before. This is a short novella about Adler a young cook with spicy desserts and Niccolò a Michelin star chef. There is an age gap as well. Adler invites the chef onto his show after many insults from Niccolo about Adler’s cooking. The two hit it off and love follows, despite their differences in age and cooking style

One of my favorite things about this author is her wit and sense of humor. This little novella certainly delivered on the sass and spice I have come to expect from her. It's a quick, easy read but still manages to have fully developed MCs and a cute romantic plot. Ariella Zoelle is my go-to author when I need a quick, low-angst/no-angst brain break for a reason!
