C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.

She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.

Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

”Never underestimate the marketability of pain and agony.”

Spoilerish Review

After that crazy cliff in the last book that had guns a blaring on the concert stage, we find that four are dead and several people are injured. This story is told in Ronnie and Lola’s pov as they take us further into the story. If you are confused and/or need an update before jumping into this book…

”Here are the plot points as I see’em: America killed Travis because she was a crazy bitch, Stephen thought the kid was his and raised it until America decided to hit him over the head with the truth, demanded Stephen relinquish said child to her, and then the two of them set into destroying one another in the most maniacal, egotistical, sociopathic ways possible. That about sum it up? Any fucking questions?”

Lola and Naomi are among the injured and sadly Naomi is hospitalized and comatose this whole book. Lola gets out of the hospital and Ronnie and her try to move forward.

"You're my second chance, Lola. My only chance. If it's not you, then it's nobody."

There were things I liked and things I thought were just sadly stupid in this book starting with Ronnie and Lola…

”I want to get you pregnant, Lola.”

description

I mean come on, this dude has four kids from different moms let’s stay focused on getting into their lives first. Anyway Lola is last chance at happiness and so he's hell bent on staying clean and doing the right thing by his dead baby momma’s kids.

Also,on the are you serious train, is the connection between the homeowner of the mansion Turner bought as a crash pad for the band.

description

The highlight of the book once again is Turner Campbell. He remains completely likable lick-able.

description

This wasn’t the best installment in the series at all and Ronnie and Lola weren’t great in this one, but the story was still rather entertaining.

Again another book that got a bit rocky but I didn't mind at all. Once you are all-in, you are all in.

You see, I got addicted pretty fast to this group of people, got so attached to certain characters, that I had no choice but read all 9 books within two weeks 🙈 What a ride that was!

If you are up for a romantic suspense ride with s*x, dr*gs and rockstars, if you want as many lovable characters as there are those you'll hate, if you want emotionally raw characters with as much darkness as well as light, this series is definitely something you don't want to miss!

And yes, you need to read all of them, if you want all the answers. And you should definitely read them in order.... Within all the trouble that the two bands got dragged into, there are three couples that find their love and whose stories are told along the suspense plot.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. I in no way want to ruin anyone’s book reading experience so please read my words with caution.

Here we go again..

Book 6 had an incredibly shocking end that had me literally yelling at my kindle. I mean what in the actual fuck was that? Book 7 picks up RIGHT as the drama unfolds. What more could happen to these people we have grown to adore? Time to suck it up for another wicked installment.

Lola Saints and Naomi Knox are both in the hospital after suffering gunshot wounds at the epic LA show. They also both shot (and killed) someone themselves. Ronnie McGuire and Turner Campbell have both been sequestered to a dingy motel to hideout from the masses. They have not seen or been informed of their women's conditions. Turner is going absolutely nuts. Will things settle down now that Turner has bought them all a fabulous mansion to live together in?

Good hell this series is KILLING ME slowly.

Cliffhanger – yes (book 7 of series)

Don't really know what to say!

I have loved this series, but come on...let's move on! I absolutely love CM Stunich's books, but I am ready for this series to be over. I find myself getting more confused with each one. Mainly because each book is someone else's story and there are so many characters to remember.
Don't get me wrong, I'll continue to read...but hopefully there will only be 2 more:)

I love Ronnie McGuire, I think I may love him more than Turner. Ronnie and Lola are now my favourite couple i hope they get another book. Yet another cliffhanger but that's a given with this series. I can't wait for Heart Broke.

It feels a little weird to keep on writing complete reviews of this series. Is there really anyone who read 6 books of a series, which consists of 10 books, and is still like: Nah, I need to be convinced that reading the 7th book is also worth it? I mean, you read the first 6 books, you know how this works. You either like it or you don't, but by now you should know whether it's worth to read on.

Because this book follows the same kinda plot as the previous books in this series. We start right where the previous book ended (because it ended with a terrible cliffhanger), slowly things are calming down slightly and we're witnessing the journey of two characters who have some work to do on their personalities and their relationship and then the book ends with another cliffhanger (although this one was a little less terrible).

And just like all characters in this series, both characters are beautifully broken and flawed. It's one of the things I might like and enjoy most. Those characters aren't saints. They aren't good guys. They did horrible things and made some really terrible mistakes. And yet they are given another chance. By themselves, by others, by the people they care about. They messed up, but life isn't over and that feels hopeful and promising and even though the book is quite depressing and sad it does also feel a little like a feel good.

I really don't know how Stunich does it, how she makes me care so much about a series that's so completely and totally not my thing. However, I will make sure to read her entire repertoire now, because I doubt there's anything she can't make me like.

Yea...I was not at ALL interested in this book as much as the other 6 books in the series. There wasn't anything really happening in the book. I mean Naomi was in a coma and so was Blair who were both shot at the concert. And it was discovered that America has a sister who is out to seek revenge because America was shot and killed by Naomi so I am really hoping that the next book has a little more drama. Honestly...I really don't know why this book was written.

I love this series. Talk about a roller coaster ride. This series I just love, yes there are cliffy's but that what makes me come back for more. Needing to know what the bell is going to happen. Ronnie and Lola I love together. I really can't wait to see what will happen next. TURNER and Naomi are my favorite and can't wait to see what will happen with them and excited to see about Dax and Sydney.

After the last cliff hanger this book starts with a bang! Questions are answered but of course there are plenty more questions needing answers as the book goes on. Then the bloody cliff again but I don't care just can't wait for the next instalment.

Love Ronnie and Lola

Ok another cliffhanger but this time it's Ronnie and Lola's. When we left off Lola was shot and Ronnie didn't know if she would live. Just when Ronnie is getting his life on track and is loving Lola another wrench gets thrown in to the mix.

What is a point of a book? To tell a story? To solve a mystery? But what happens if as series progress, everything just gets more tangled, more complicated, there never is a reprieve, never truth is told and all reader gets is confusion and sex scenes? Instead of wrapping up after the horrendous disaster of concert and untangling the web of lies, games and murders, author tangles everything even more? Pitch in another antagonist in already overflowing mix and let the reader think what they want? I didn't get enough answers about Eric and Katie ,and Hayden but these characters have been promptly dismissed without answers. Now a bunch more is dead and I have strong feeling that author don't care to untangle the mess, leaving the reader to make what they want on the subject. So what was the point of hints and threads thrown into the mix? By now I think that author have no idea how to solve the mess she made so she just leaves it be,not bothering to think up explanations. And I absolutely hate it.

Okay - I am done with the series. I can't justify spending any more money on the series. I should've stopped a long time ago but I REALLY wanted to know what was going on.
Even though it's 'over' it doesn't really feel over. There is just so much more going on and still there is nothing that is actually resolved here.
Still no HEA for any of the couples - none of anyone's separate issues are getting resolved, their relationships are still iffy, and the shit with America and Stephen and now Brendan are still up in the air with their families now out to get them and Brendan keeping them in the dark.

This book really went no where. Idk what the point of this was?
Nothing was handled or resolved. Cohen died in their tub - but all we got on that was the VERY last page was one sentence that it happened no how, why, when, or by who. Just 'Cohen died in our tub'
and Naomi woke up. The end.
it was done to get you to want to continue reading, and I almost fell for it again, but after nothing happening in this I really just couldn't find it in me to care anymore.

In my opinion, not as good as the previous books.

I guess I am so used to being on the edge of my seat or twisting in a random tornado that this book seemed to be missing something. Naomi for one thing, but something else. The plus is it ends exciting (although a little predictable) we have a new villain to hate and more questions left unanswered. And I am on to book 8.

Crazy

This is a series that makes you stop and think " did I just read that!". So much goes on between all these couples. I just hope I can straighten myself out. The other thing I think about is could this really happen on rock n roll tour.

RONNIE AND LOLA I GUESS ?????

I wanted more about these two. It seems Ronnie is still in love with his "soul mate", who has been dead for 10 years and is just settling for Lola. Lola has had it so hard and loves Ronnie with all her heart. I'm not sure he deserves her.

This one didnt really answer any questions, but raised alot more. What happened to Ronnies other kids? How do the visits go? And then lets add Americas sister again. No additional info with Brayden and why he is there. Oh well, on to the next one.

Do you ever read a book that makes you feel so ingrained in it that you can almost feel it running through your veins? Well for me Doll Face, and the rest of the Hard Rock Roots series, has that effect. I want to live, eat, breathe and sleep the Hard Rock Roots story.

When this series started out I expected a three books about a band which had a bit of an edge to it but from its birth, the Hard Rock Roots series quickly became so much more. With its endless but loveable clifffies I just can't get enough of Turner, Ronnie, Naomi and the rest of the Hard Rock Roots gang. Yes I love Turner Dakota Campbell but I also love each of the other characters as much and Ronnie and Lola's story is equally as entertaining as Turner and Naomi's.

After the shoot out on stage at the end of Dead Serious, Doll Face starts with Lola and Poppet in a stand off over Tyler, the child at the centre of this epic battle between America and Stephen. As the guns fire all around, 4 people are killed and Naomi and Lola are seriously injured but put under house arrest by Braydon, Turner and Ronnie are kept in the dark about their girlfriends and whether they have survived their wounds.

It's not long though before Turner and Ronnie are finally released and head to the hospital to see how Lola and Naomi are. Ronnie is amazed to see an alive and well and slightly more abrasive than normal Lola Saints looking up at him from her hospital bed. Desperate to escape naturally caring nature of Nurse Dina, Ronnie takes Lola to a hotel to recover.

Getting shot blows some seriously fat donkey dick. Not gonna lie about that one. ~Lola

As the group try to piece together who was behind what and who shot whom, they try to decide if they are finally out of danger but in true CM Stunich style there is a twist of epic proportions at the end of this story.

I don't know how many more beautifully freaky phrases Turner Campbell can come up with but he makes me laugh so hard. He has an ego the size of the universe and the cockiness to own it. But don't be fooled,Turner has grown up and bought a house!!!!

It's hard to review this book and not give anything away but let it be said, it's a story of pure brilliance and magic.

Next up is Dax and Sydney's story before that WEDDING book!!! Who can't wait for more.... me, me, me!!!

I know, we wanted more Turner and Naomi. But sometimes you have to see the drama from a different point of view. And even though most people would say this book was slow and a little on the tame side for how this series plays out. Think again, it's just giving you time to catch your breath and regroup. To find out where everyone is, and in what state they are in. Who survived? What condition is everyone in? What the hell happened? All good questions, some are answered. And in true CM Stunich fashion, she gives a lot more questions. What can I say that won't give spoilers? Well, I learned alot more about Lola and Ronnie. Without the life and death drama chasing them, however temporary, we get to see how well they mesh together like we did with Turner and Naomi. Each pairing is essential to the whole that is this mystery. This book may not be the most action packed or have the couple everyone is worshipping, but I really like Ronnie and Lola. Ronnie is the most sensible one now that he has someone to ground him and bring him out of his self imposed guilt ridden depression. He starts thinking about life past the next gig. Lola has done some horrible things, and yet Ronnie doesn't think twice about what she has done, just that he loves her. Who will survive the next move in this roller coaster murder circus? Who knows, but just like all the previous books, CM Stunich slams me with another cliff hanger. I'm really starting to love those......

It's not the cliffhangers that bother me so much in this series, it's that the story isn't moving forward. At least until the very last chapter, then all hell breaks loose and it's a rush of information. I'm getting frustrated (I mean we are seven books in, shouldn't there be more answers by now?) and I don't think I'll be reading any more until they are all released. There has to be an end eventually, right?

My random thoughts about this one:

* I love Ronnie, even though he's majorly messed up. He is trying to turn his life around, which can't be easy considering his profession.

* I didn't like Lola in book 3 and I still don't. Ronnie is way too forgiving, considering the havoc she's brought on him and his friends.

* No one on the planet needs a vasectomy more than Ronnie. Man, that induced so many eye rolls!

* Why are all the bad guys so cryptic about EVERYTHING? Nothing makes sense, and everyone just goes along without questioning things.

* The lack of Naomi to balance out Turner (even though they are secondary characters in this one) was not good.

* I feel like after so many deaths and comas, there was a lack of mourning. Dax and Turner seemed like the only ones truly having a hard time.

C.M. Stunich writes with so much heart! I just can't help be love these characters. I have a rule ..... When I start a new book, if I'm not totally lost in the story and the people by page 40, I stop reading it. With this series, I am lost in the land of sex, drugs and rock-n-roll right from the start. It's so weird that I actually care about these characters ...... Ms Knox please wake up, someone help Dax please (he is my favorite), Ronnie, stay clean and get your babies and love them, Turner, keep being a badass and never change your rule about "no lies" because lies only hurt people sooner or later.
Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but after 7 books, you should Know it's coming.
I'm going to try some of C.M. Stunich's other series. Can anyone suggest one? I know there are several ..... Opinions and suggestions are welcome.

I think I enjoy Turner more out of these books than any other character, I mean that boy has no filter, "no, Ronnie, I don't want to frigging talk about it. I really, really don't, okay? Stop being such a effing girl an act like a man. Clam up and refuse to show any emotion except anger." Ronnie he's such a good boyfriend, "tame is all you get until you've healed up a bit. There's no way in eff I'm flipping your a** over a counter for at least another two weeks." He also get these idea he wants to share with his woman, "I want to get you pregnant, Lola." Obviously there was more crap that went down in this book but I really want more of Turner and Naomi they are my favorite couple of this series.

CM Stunich is the mistress of cliff-fucking-hangers and I heart her.

Me, at the end of DOLL FACE: “Oh, fucking hell! I can’t believe it! Nooooooo, Bitch!”

After this crazy ride with Ronnie and Lola, I’m more than ready for another dose of effed the hell up!

Sorry, my review won’t be very useful if you still haven’t read this fantastic series by CM Stunich, because I won’t tell you what DOLL FACE is about. It would be like telling you to watch SOA for your first time with the 10th episode! No way!

If you have, you know what I mean and unfortunately you already know that we’ll have to wait for February 2015 for the release of Dax and Sydney’s story in HEART BROKE, book 8 in the series.

Ugh.

Happy crazy reading!
