BJ's Lost Crayons

Rate this book
BJ lost his crayons and found his new daddy.

I collect crayons. Not just any crayons, either. I collect retired colors, violet-blue being my favorite. They remind me of myself—once loved and cherished and now long forgotten. Only I refuse to let them be, either. Instead, I dig through every yard sale and thrift store box of random colors, hoping to find one.

Moving into my new apartment is stressful enough without discovering a box is missing, the one containing my prized collection. I call the moving company, my old landlord, and my new building manager. None of them have seen it. They are gone. As a last-ditch effort, I post on the local community social media pages in the hopes that someone has seen it.

When someone replies they have, it’s all I can do not to say, “Thank you, Daddy.”

BJ’s Lost Crayons is a sweet age play romance featuring a little who loses his treasured crayon collection and finds his new daddy, a daddy who is ready for a little of his own, snuggles, cuddles, stuffies, footie jams, a memorable day at Chained, an adorable bunny, new beginnings, some old friends, true love, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like your romances on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier, check out BJ’s Lost Crayons by USA Today Bestselling author Della Cain and her bestie and frequent partner in crime, Kaytea Kat.

BJ lost his crayons and found his new daddy.
BJ clings to a deeply personal collection of retired crayons, particularly the elusive violet-blue, that he sees as a symbol of his own past sense of being cherished and then forgotten. Then a box containing this cherished collection is lost during a very stressful move, BJ’s quiet "little" world is shaken. In desperation, he reaches out to the community, and when Glenn from the moving company unexpectedly replies that he’s found it, relief floods his heart accompanied by a familiar spark...a spark that he hasn't felt in quiet some time. Gratitude and attraction blur hinting at a possibly deeper connection beneath the surface of what seemed to only be a simple recovery.

I own and love all 13 of these "Daddy/little" stories. They are short little books, but each one is so packed full of genuine love. This story was sweet, symbolic, and filed with a hopeful ache that the reader can't help but share with BJ. It was quietly intimate and brimming with understated longings.

As much as I love these stories, there were a few minor issues. Usually there always is...but this time there was no discussion between the two men, before they had unprotected sex. Also, some of their conversations had been summarized, leading me to wonder if parts of this story had been removed. This being an MM Romance story with mature content and a BDSM DD/LB dynamic...I can't imagine anything actually needing to be censored. We, the readers of M/M romances expect to read things that wouldn't be found in other genera, and I never fail to indicate what the books genera is in every review that I post, so that no one is unpleasantly surprised, and can either choose to read the review or choose to skip it. In spite of these two issues the story still gets the 5 star rating that it deserves.

3.5/5, rounded up
This would have been a solid 4.5/5 for me, as I enjoyed the story. It’s sweet and cozy, no real angst or miscommunication at all.

I dropped a little more of the rating because I did struggle with some parts of the intimacy. First, they go bare the first time with zero discussion, which will make me cringe every time. There was never a mention of them having that talk ahead of time, either.

Also, their first time together was lightly summarized in a two very short paragraphs. If that’s how it’s done, fine. But then later scenes are much longer and more detailed. It left that important first time feeling unimportant and rushed.

These might only be things I’d pick up on, but I felt both were worth mentioning.

I was also a little pulled out by a line about them meeting in the club. (They didn’t. Not originally.)

So, while it was cute, sweet and enjoyable, I couldn’t give it a higher rating.

Amazing!!!

I love these books. I’m with BJ on how he feels about crayons and the right kind of coloring book. Puts your mind in the best place. I’m so glad Glenn found him. They are able to give each other just what they need. Such a cute read.

Book 13 in this Found by Daddy series and I'm seriously hooked. Totally standalone but some past characters might make appearance but doesn't get you lost in the over all story line which is the accidental/coincidental meeting of two wonderful people. Glenn and BJ's meeting was just too wonderful for words. BJ losing his crayons and Glenn finds them and things just go on from there...totally sweet...not angsty...no lack of communication...lil spicy with the sweet and very romantic...oh yeah there is the daddy/boy kink which was nice...their chemistry was wonderful. Nice HEA and I totally recommend.

Della Cain has once more proven to be an outstanding author, with this, the 13th Found By Daddy title. This time a little not actively looking for a daddy and a daddy not actively looking for a little find one another and so much more. Both have past baggage but are trying to look to the future, to find trust, happiness and maybe even love. For the moment BJ has his cactus, Joe, and Glenn Carrots, his pet rabbit. They both also have friends and enjoy the occasional visit to Chained.

BJ has learned he has just sixty days to find a new home, his current building has been sold to developers. In his Big life he deals with this in the best way he knows how, with resolution and organisation. He finds a new place within budget and hires the best removal company in the knowledge they will transport everything safely, including Joe and of course his crayons. BJ collects crayons, he finds them in all manner of places and his collection now has stories. They are all special to him for their own reasons, he loves to be in his little space, not fully for he is usually alone, and spend time colouring. Only when moving day arrives the crayons don't. Fearing them lost BJ resigns himself to buying more but refuses to give up without first placing posters and notices on social media.

Stopping off at the grocery store Glenn sees the poster, realises the box in question sounds very much like the one that was reported missing to his company. Curious he sets about to see if he can find it and, on being successful, for reasons he cannot put a finger on, he decides to deliver it personally. He does this at the same time that BJ has been setting out his Little collection of clothing to organise and find new homes for. He is not in the least offended or surprised, after all he is a daddy.

BJ has been hurt in the past, abandoned by those who should have loved him and isn't looking. not actively, for a daddy. Glenn lost his wife very suddenly a few years ago and whilst he occasionally likes to play with the Littles at Chained he hasn't has the heart to find a new partner. Until now. His adorable pet rabbit Carrots seems to agree now is the time and BJ could be the one. Stu, BJ's pet cactus doesn't have much of an opinion but goes along with it all!

The beauty of this story is the subtlety, the joy and wonder of the simplest things in life which can and should make us. happy if we want them to. The things we can do safely at home and with others who understand. It is in the beauty of the relationship two people can share in both their big and little spaces and in the joy of colour, an ideal message for Pride month. I was captivated, adored the characters, was happy to see some old friends and may have felt a pang of loss for my own beautiful rabbit who left me far too soon. Yet the story bought me immeasurable comfort and for that, for giving me the chance to read it, to share it with this review, I am forever thankful.

This is book 13 in the Found By Daddy series and each book is a standalone read. This is the story of BJ and Glenn. BJ is a little who cherished crayons. When he is forced to quickly move due to his building being demolished, his treasured box of crayons go missing. He calls everyone involved in the move or his building with no success. He posts missing posters but doesn't hold out much hope. Glenn is a widower and a former daddy. Seeing as it was his company that moved BJ, he searches for the box. Luckily he finds it near the old building and returns it to BJ. Overcome with happiness, BJ lets Glenn into his new apartment forgetting that all his little paraphernalia is spread out all over his living room. Embarrassed doesn't begin to describe how BJ feels. Seeing this Glenn quickly leaves. But he is surprised by how affected he is by BJ. The two meet at the club during a charity auction. Glenn and BJ begin to talk and see how much they truly have in common. This is their story. The book is very well written and easy to read. I loved seeing the kindness and respect that they showed each other. Add in a supporting cast of a cactus and a bunny named Carrot; how can you go wrong. This is a sweet and cute read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Soft, Sweet, and Everything a Little Could Hope For 💜

BJ’s Lost Crayons was pure heartwarming magic. Della Cain has an incredible way of crafting characters that feel vulnerable, real, and deeply lovable—and BJ is no exception. His love for crayons, especially the forgotten ones, tugged at my heartstrings and made me instantly invested in his story. I mean, a whole book about finding both his precious collection and his forever Daddy? Sign me up!

Glenn is the perfect match—gentle, grounded, and so ready to open his heart to a little who needs safety, comfort, and love. The dynamic between them was sweet and low-angst, just the kind of cozy read I needed. The age play elements were handled with such care, bringing in all the stuffies, footie pajamas, and snuggles you could want without ever feeling overdone.

This book also gave me a sense of community—between Chained, the found family vibes, and old friends making cameos, it felt like coming home. If you love age play stories that are more cuddles than discipline, more emotional connection than conflict, you’ll fall in love with this one.

BJ’s Lost Crayons is soft, safe, and incredibly affirming. A feel-good, kinky-Hallmark read I’ll definitely revisit whenever I need a little TLC. 💕🖍️🐰.

I definitely enjoy these sweet, low-angst stories of Littles finding their forever Daddies due to a special lost item. The possibilities for new stories are endless, with Bridger, the munch, Miss Lily and Chained as the constants to tie each story together.

In this one, BJ loses his treasured collection of crayons as he moves to a new apartment, each one tied to a special memory of circumstances and locations of when they were acquired. Heartbroken, he puts up notices all over, hoping against hope that someone has seen it. Glenn is the owner of the moving company that BJ used, and he is touched by the note. He recognizes the writer as a Little, and as a Daddy, he is compelled to try to locate this precious box. Obviously, he does locate it, the two meet, and after dates and little time, the two become a couple with BJ’s wished for Forever Daddy and a HEA.

Light-hearted, engaging reads to spend an hour or two in a little/Daddy world. I would recommend any of the Found By Daddy series as a bit of enjoyable escapism on a stressful or gloomy day, as they are all sure to bring a smile or two to the most jaded reader. Choose which one catches your fancy and enjoy.

Hang on get comfortable you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. BJ learned he had to move only sixty days to find a new home change was hard for him but his current building was sold to developers so organizations is the only way he knows how to deal with it, and so find a place in his budget hires a company to help him move but the one thing he must pack is his prize possession his crayons been collecting them from everywhere for a while. When he arrives to his new place his crayons don’t afraid, they are lost BJ assumes he has to buy new ones refusing to give up he decides to put posters up, notices on social media for his lost crayons hoping someone will find them. Glen is a daddy who sees a poster for the lost crayons while shopping, being a caring dad, knows how devasting it is for a little boy to lose his favorite crayons, so of course he tries to find them and when he does, decides to personally deliver them. Neither of them expected the magnetic pull both have been hurt but will they give in to the pull have he found his boy, have found a daddy who will take good care of him, and will they find happiness coloring with his crayons?

What an amazing story! Who knew that a lost box of crayons could lead to a forever love? BJ is a little who, when forced to move out of his apartment due to it being demolished, will lose the box that contains his collection of crayons. Glenn’s owns the moving company BJ used and when he sees the flyers for the missing box, he steps in to help find it. And when he does and delivers it - both will find what was missing in their life. They vow to start off slow but soon there are trips and fun and lots of daddy/little time. I love the way their relationship unfolds and how perfect they are for each other. Add in a bunny and a cactus named Stu and you get a sweet tale that is an absolute pleasure to read!.

Another super sweet Daddy/little story. BJ had to move because the apartment she lived in were sold and we're going to be torn down. He hired a moving company and during the move a box filled with his special crayons got lost. Glenn is the owner of the moving company. He was a daddy but also a widow and too scared to move on. When he saw a flyer about the missing box and realized that it was his moving company he took it upon himself to try and find it. But he found more than just the box of missing crayons. As much as I enjoyed the story I was a little confused at one point after they met up at Chained the first time during the auction Glenn referred to BJ as a omega. And this is not an alpha omega book.

“What a coincidence that you’d get there and see all his little items in plain sight. Sounds a little like fate.”

I love the Found by Daddy series and I really liked that rather than a stuffie or toy this time, what was lost was a box of the Little's retired crayon collection that vanished during a move. This was such a sweet romance and I loved both BJ and Glenn. They were really cute together. Both had sadness in their lives- Glenn' who'd lost his wife, who was also a Little, and BJ's who was slowly abandoned by his mother and brothers. Both were now all alone. I like how they connected.

I also smiled at BJ's emotional support cactus, Stu (that I kept picturing as one of those toys that danced when you talked to it). And LOVED that Glenn had a pet bunny named Carrot that he took in from the family that no longer wanted him.

Fate steps in to save the day. BJ is being forced to relocate because his building is sold. He is a little who cherishes his crayon collection. He spends a lot of time alone and longs for someone to love him and give him the support, acceptance and care. Glenn, is a Daddy who lost his little, Carol a few years ago. He still mourns her as a wonderful woman. He owns a successful moving company and with a crew he trusts. He meets BJ after he notices a sign in the store of items lost during a move and realizes it was his service. When he returns the box to BJ, it's like their inner souls immediately recognize each other. Delightful story of fulfillment and acceptance. Sweetly done. This Daddy/Little series is cute, light, fluffy, etc. This story was no exception. It was a sweet story with no major trauma or problems. The only problem I have with them is that the story flies by quickly so we barely have a chance to see the couple's dynamic and they're together and then on the way to their HEA.

I generally pick these up when I need something light and sweet and that's what I get. Fortunately, BJ's crayons were found easily by the man who owns the moving company BJ used. And more fortunately, that man is a kind person, and happens to be a daddy. So... easy formula and nice delivery.

This was a really cute story about BJ who is a little and had a collection of crayons. He had been collecting them for awhile and when he moved house, the box that contains his collection wasn’t in his new place. When Glenn, who owned the moving company that BJ hired found the collection of crayons, he personally delivered them to BJ and was attracted to him. It wasn’t until later when they both met at chained that attraction turned into something more. I really enjoyed the way that their relationship developed, and eventually they found their happily ever after together.

Each book I read by Della captures a part of me I've long forgotten. The simply joys that life can provide, the peace received when spending time with the ones we love, the freedom and happiness felt when Letting Go of expectation and pressure. Both Glenn and BJ were getting through life individually, but finding eachother lit a spark. I was able to escape into these characters, their story, and share in their discoveries and happiness, if even for a little while. It's a gift, and one Della repeatedly provides to her audience. I, for one, couldn't be more greatful.

This was a cute quick read. BJ has to move so hires a moving company to help but loses a very important box. The owner of the company, Glenn, finds and returns it. There is definitely chemistry between them but neither acts on it. They have a chance meeting at Chained and things go from there. It’s pretty fast paced but so sweet! I loved how BJ communicated with Glenn! We get some appearances by some of our other favorite characters also! Very enjoyable.

I enjoyed the story. It’s a fun read that was funny and lighthearted. BJ’s lost crayons was the beginning of a new and wonderful relationship with Glenn. Together they explored the Daddy/Little dynamics that worked great for them and just what they needed. It’s always good to see previous Little’s, Hudson and Austin make an appearance in this story.

I loved BJ, his support cactus Stu and his crayon collection of special colors. Kicked out of his apartment, he lost his collection in the move. Glenn had lost his wife who was a Little and he found the crayons. It's a sweet novella with two people who need each other very much. This was one of Della and Kaytea's more precious books with the emphasis on the care both showed each other and sweet emotions. I received a copy of this through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

BJ and Glenn were almost too sweet and gave me toothache! BJ collects crayons but when his prized crayons go missing, he needs Daddy Glenn to find them. Sometimes I need the comfort of a super sweet, no angst, cuddly instalove Daddy/boy romance, and these two authors always deliver! I loved their meet-cute, how Glenn fell into something he wasn’t sure he wanted, and how BJ was honest with his Daddy about his feelings and fears. It was just what I needed. No angst, just a smidge of heat, and an HEA.

When BJ moved he thought he lost his box of crayons he’s collected over the years. But when the head of moving company, Glenn, brings his box to him he gets more than just his beloved crayons. This is an adorable little/daddy book. The relationship between them is natural, but they both have issues to get through and they do it together. It also has a cute bunny named carrots and a cactus named Stu.

This is a cute story I would recommend it. However, I did feel while reading it that some parts were missed over and had to go back and reread it to see if I missed something.
