*I was sent this book from the author for an honest review. This review is based on MY opinion and does not reflect that of other readers.*
When I first saw that this was based on actual events I groaned. Don't get me wrong I don't mind memoirs or non-fiction books, BUT its hard to review these because they are written and based on people's life. How can you put a review on someone's life? Can I rate his or her life? Do I have that power as a blogger and review to do so? And yet that is what I am doing right now. And while I feel horrible for this author and the journey she is having to undergo that doesn't change that is was and is a book and therefore I review BASED on the book and not the author.
I feel this book could have been better written. There were so many repetitive sentences and every time we switch to Andrew's POV he started with pretty much the same things. In some form he would start "I feel so bad for my wife." and of course there was the same "She is my bestfriend" part in almost every POV of his. Ok Andrew we get it. You love her, you are hurting for her, she is the only one for you. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TELL US EVERYTIME WE SEE YOU! I wanted to scream that at him. Give me something new. Something different. MAKE me feel your pain and he never did. I never got that feeling of pain and struggle he was going through. It was just words, on paper.
Lucy was a character to say the least. She remained strong throughout the story for her family. That is a real woman to me. To put other's in front of her while she was in pain and going through something so scary is astounding. I felt for her, moreso because I watched my grandmother go through the same thing than (once again) the words on the paper.
I wasn't to sure about the whole empathy thing. I don't believe in that but that doesn't mean that someone else doesn't. It added a twist to things that's for sure.
Now I did love seeing how all her family and friends formed together for her support system. To me there is no words for that. Go FAMILY. The letters at the end were the best part to me. #teammimzy
*Note to the author. May you always be strong in the face of pain. May you always hold on tight and fight for those who fight for you. And most of all may you always find the joy in the little things. Make memories. Laugh. Most of all LIVE. And Kick that cancers a**. We, at feedmeinbooks, are rooting for you! Stay strong. Stay upbeat. Stay positive.
>I received this novella from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is part one in the series.
>This novella reads like a diary. A dairy that marks important moments in Lucy’s life, such as meeting her husband, having her daughter and being diagnosed with cancer. Lucy is the main voice in the story, but every once in a while, her husband, Andrew gives his point of view. The diary content is a bit repetitive. There is quite a bit on love and the importance of family. The journey through cancer is chronicled through thoughts and letters. In reality, this is a true story. The author’s cousin is the one fighting cancer and this story is a gift to show how much family loves and supports her in her battle.
>There is a bit regarding empaths that doesn’t fit. Maybe the “real” Lucy is an empath and the reason this bit is included. The story is not over. We do not know the outcome. The positive feelings throughout the novella gives me hope that all will be well.
>This novella is appropriate for a young adult (14+) audience.
When I started reading Lucy's Journey, I read the dedication first. It says that" This novella is based on true events." This made me go "Oh no what did U sign up to read." I was a little nervous about reading this book after that but I had nothing to worry about because this was a good read.
She has a life a happiness and everything seems great than she is giving devastating news. Lucy is a great strong character. Lucy goes through a lot but still keeps her faith. It's an emotional read. We get Lucy and her husband Andrew's POV. Their story pulled at my heart strings. I can't wait to read more. I have to say I'm a little nervous to read the next one because I'm unsure if Lucy's journey will have a HEA but I sure hope it does.

REVIEW Lucy and Andrew met and knew they were made for each other. After many years they have a daughter. Then one day when her daughter is about 8 years old Lucy receives a call from the doctors office. Andrew drives her and they find out Lucy possibly has cancer. Lucy is an Empath. After having been in a horrible accident at the age of 3 she noticed she can feel things.
This story in itself is well written and gives great details. However the book is in need of editing. Caissy Boudreau
'I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review'
To start this book is supposed to be based off of a true story.
I enjoyed the book. This is book one in a series so there is more to come and I am curious to see what comes next.
I think the book needs some better editing and could have been written a bit better. With that being said, I felt that it was a good story line with strong characters. You really feel for the characters. Lucy is a very strong woman faced with some of life's worst.
I recommend reading for yourself and going on Lucy's journey with her. It is a good book at a great price.
Not being a big believer in God I didn’t think I would enjoy this, but I was completely wrong. I loved it and it has made me think things differently. This book was highly emotional and even more so knowing it was based on true events. For Lucy to still have faith after everything she had gone through was inspirational. Lucy is a wonderful character with a heart made of gold and I enjoyed the different POV’s with her and Andrew. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait to see whether Lucy gets her HEA, she truly does deserve it. 5 stars
This book was so emotional, and amazing. Lucy is a wonderful character that has a heart of gold. My heart broke when she found out she was sick. Caissy does a wonderful job with this book, it is well written. I love caissy and I think she is an author to really check out. This book is my favorite, but I can see that she is really growing as an author. I am proud of her. This book is a must read.
Wow... Just wow. Loved this book so much! It was an emotional book for me to read. It hit home. Just reading what Lucy has gone through but she still has faith in God amazes me. I have seen 2 people battle what she is and they last the battle. Lucy is a really strong person. I am glad I got to read this book. I recommend you read this book!
WOW I AM A WOMAN WHO HAS FAITH IN GOD AND ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW. LUCY IS A TRULY INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH AND STILL HAS HER FAITH AS STRONG AS THE DAY SHE WAS BORN. I SERIOUSLY QUESTIONED MY OWN FAITH WHILST READING THIS BOOK , THINKING WOULD I BE THIS STRONG. CAISSY HAS WRITTEN THIS BOOK REALLY WELL WITH SUCH A SENSITIVE SUBJECT.
