The De-Identifier creates panic in Griffin’s Beach. Ashley Tate has seen too many people go disappear without anyone searching for them because of their past. She knows her former-cop-turned-PI husband can help give these women their identities back, but she’s not thrilled when he’s offered his old job back. She’ seven less thrilled to learn he’s considering the offer.
The GBPD has become desperate enough to reach out to the club for help with the De-Identifier, but the Drifters have no intention of helping out. Until they look at the file on the latest victim. Not only can Undertaker recognize her, he used to love her. Not being able to save Nina creates issues with Jamie. How can she compete with a ghost? And will Undertaker’s neglect make her the next victim?
As if it’s not bad enough everything hits a head as they dive into the De-Identifier case, Marnie Banks is attacked for knowledge she doesn’t realize she has about the killer. Venom almost loses her for good, but is it enough to forgive her for breaking his heart in Summerville?
Gavin Short finally gets his girl back. For real this time. Everything’s great… Until he gets a surprise that could just send Hailey running for the hills. Again. This time, though, it’s his own fault. Does he stand a chance to keep her?
Can the Drifters help stop a killer terrorizing the town? And if they do, will that be the end of it?
Logan Gray is a writer and authorpreneur who likes to create books like artists like to create art. Description is important, but she wants to allow the reader to make the story their own. While she wants to give the reader what he or she needs to see the picture she's trying to depict, she doesn't want to fill the pages with unnecessary description to restrict how the reader views the characters or places.
While this may not appeal to all readers, she hopes it appeals to others who like you add their own touch to the story. Maybe they would rather the walls be white instead of gray. Maybe they'd like to envision the person is tall instead of average height. While the description as she sees it is there, it's not written so strongly the own interpretation cannot be made and applied. It gives the reader some creative freedom in a hobby that isn't always as flexible.
Every time I dive into one of these books, I swear it feels like catching up with people I actually know. The writing pulls me in so effortlessly, and the characters? They're layered, messy, real—exactly the kind of people I want to root for (and yell at occasionally).
This latest installment kept me on edge the whole way through. There were moments I was grinning, others I was genuinely tense, and a few where I just needed to sit with what had happened before flipping the page. It’s not just the action—it’s the emotional depth, the relationships, the consequences of past choices catching up. That’s what sticks with me.
Some storylines hit harder than others this time around. A few made me nervous (still crossing fingers for certain characters), but that’s part of what makes this series so gripping—nothing’s ever predictable. And even when I think I see what’s coming, the author has a way of flipping it on me. I did not enjoy the surprise pregnancy though... seriously, can't Harley get a break?!?
And yeah, the ending left me instantly wanting the next book—no shame in admitting I’m fully hooked.
3.5 stars. Not a standalone. Best thing about this book was Venom and Marnie finally together, but the author has me worried she might mess with them. Gavin impregnates the nympho. Good Lord. 🤦 While Hailey decides she'll support and love Gavin through it all. Don't feel sorry for her. She dumped him, and then used him for sex. Karma kind of bit her on the ass with that one. The Undertaker aka Frances messes up big time with Jaime. Yet she forgave him way to quickly for my liking. Honestly if his ex hadn't been killed by the serial killer he probably would have dropped Jaime like yesterday's garbage. He still had hundreds of photos, plus a sex video in his phone of his ex. They were trauma bonded, and had she had found Frances before the serial killer did this would have had one hell of an angsty storyline. But alas, she is no more. Speaking of the serial killer. He of course has an obsession with Lex. I'm really kind of sick of her. 😂 I get it! She's the queen, but damn. Everything centers around her and her hurt all the time. Also, the person they caught who they thought was the killer isn't, but I saw that coming a mile away. Overall ok, but still entertaining.

I think I start every review with how much I love this series, the writing is phenomenal, characters amazing and I never want it to end. That being said, book 21 starts right where we left off in book 20. Harley is in a world of trouble but finally realises she has a family behind her. Undertaker suffers a loss from his past which impacts his relationship with Jamie. The unidentified is still at large, I’ve got a sinking feeling I know who it is unfortunately. Venom and Marnie, Grant and Harley all get their acts together, not liking Grants storyline, hopefully that changes. Brilliant book, can’t wait for book 22.
What a read kept me in the edge of my seat from start to finish and now I need the next book. Love the author and love this series gets better with each book
Another incredible installment to the series. A lot of moving parts going on in the book. Lots of questions being answered while leaving a cliff-hanger at the end. Can't wait for the next book.
Great read. Loved how Hailey finally had her come to moment and realised she had a family to support her. So happy Venom comes around to giving second chances. All up this was great.
