I always rate the books I read but rarely review them because there are so many other readers who do an excellent job of reviewing them. This book & series were so different that I'm compelled to do so. Also due to this, I'm posting the same review on all of the books with an added note for each. This book & the six others are actually serialized. So if you want to finish the stories then you'll have to read them all - all 1,200+ pages of them. For the series as a whole, I give it 3 stars.

The first & second books are the best of the bunch. The third starts to drag as nothing is resolved from the first two books & the plot gets more outlandish. Once I reached the fourth book, it felt like a soap opera plot. More & more ridiculous behavior & events occur. The fourth book ends with a significant cliffhanger (they all do). But when we begin to read the fifth book, it's a complete backstory of the main antagonist. Background would've been fine & good for the story as a part of the overall series but, at this point, I don't care about the guy, I JUST WANT THE STORY TO CONTINUE! I'm sure it was interesting but I couldn't read it due to this. So the last chapter or two are the only ones continuing the overall story line.

Overall, the books have their faults but the story line is good & the characters likable. However, this really gets old after you've read the first two books. The plausibility decreases with each book as well as plot twist after plot twist with new dilemmas mixed in and it takes much of the enjoyment out of the books overall.

As the Montclair Brothers series continues, this book “Robert the King,” explains the many character flaws of the treacherous, deceitful, dangerous character, Robert! This book is so full of emotions that it was like reading a story on a roller coaster! If you have read the first 4 books of this amazing series, reading this book will feel like you have been holding your breath for a long time and you can finally let it out. WOW I really do not want to say a lot about this book because I do not want to cause any spoiler alerts! All I can say is this series is one of the most emotional, gripping, series I have ever read. You have no idea what will happen next. Terri Marie keeps us dangling at the end of her suspenseful hook!! I am very excited to read the next book “On Bended Knee” which will go live sometime in December.

This book was nothing like I expected.
I thought I hated the character of Robert, but after reading this story I was feeling so sorry for him and even sympathy and understanding to a point.
The writing in this book, for me, was so different from the rest of the series and added another dimension that I have not come across before, to discover what makes the villain bad, and when it began, which for Robert was as a child. It makes you think that for some children there is little help from the systems we have in place and what more can be done to improve this.
A complete and utter compelling read.

In Robert The King we get a look at Robert's life as a child. To say he had a hard childhood would be putting it lightly, Robert and his little brother were put through he*l and back they watched their father mentally and physically abuse their mother for years. Until they were placed into foster care. Robert improved in school, and in everyday life, until one day his parents showed back up. He ended moving back in with his parents and it went from bad to worse. I can see why Robert is who he is, at first you almost feel sorry for him, but there's a point were a person should know better. Robert The King gives us a great insight into Robert s world and what's next in the Montclair's

Another awesome book to a great series. This book had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, waiting to see what would happen next. It was nice to read how "Robert the King" became the monster that he is. I almost wanted to have sympathy for him because of what he went through, but remembered who he is! And I just love his little songs that he comes up with. They are so funny it's hard not to laugh out loud while reading them. Terri Marie has done it again. She really knows how to bring the character to life! I can't wait to see what comes next in the wonderful series!!

Very rarely do I finish a book within hours of starting it, but I've been following the Montclair Brothers Saga since day one. I had to find out what was going to happen. Once I started reading I was reeled in and couldn't stop. I just had to turn that next page to see. Terri Marie really knows how to captivate you, to keep you there, to bring you that gasping, edge of your seat moment.... I loved it!! Looking forward to the next one.

Worth the wait

Wow! If someone had told me that I would feel sorry for Robert I would have said no, but after reading about his upbringing it kinda make sense the way he turned out. Once again the writer has left me wanting more....Can't wait for the next book in the series. Goodbye Robert the menace to society and to women everywhere you an no longer hurt Renee.

This a psychological profile of the antagonist we love to hate in The Montclair series. Author Terri Marie delivered a seriously sad story of an often child like failed man. Failed by many who should have protected him. However he knew right from wrong and chose wrong every time. A fascinating work of fiction that is often times reality of many in society today.

Fantastic book by Terri Marie! We all love to hate Robert but when you read his story you just might understand why he is the way he is. Terri Marie paints vivid pictures with her words. This book is exceptionally good!

Wow this is the next edition of the Monclair Brothers. It really takes you into Robert Preston's past and why he grew up the way he did. Boy what a book I couldn't put it down. This book does contain profanity so if that bothers you this book may not be for you. A great read

Home Run!

Terri Marie did it again! As despicable as Robert was , this was my favorite character I love to hate. Fast paced, heart wrenching and powerful!
