She is forbidden, but that doesn't stop Lucien from wanting her...
Lucien Silver is the president of The Brothers of Menace MC. He knows he screwed up three months ago by letting the daughter of the VP of his club stay at his house one night. Callie is young and off limits, and although nothing happened between them, he should have told her father, Kink. Lucien may want Callie desperately, but having her would be a betrayal of Kink and the club.
Callie wants Lucien, and she knows he wants her, too. But being with him would cause bad blood between her dad and Lucien. She doesn't want club relationships ruined, but her feelings for him grow, and Callie knows she can't stay away.
When Kink catches Lucien with Callie together all hell breaks loose. Lifelong friendships are tested, blood is spilled, and anger and pain entwine. Lucien and Callie must decide if being together is worth it all.
I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but here goes.
I love the Grizzly MC series. So naturally I wanted to read this spin off series. But I did not like Malice in the Grizzly book so I did not want to start with his book. I liked Lucien and he had no exes (dead or alive) so I thought I would try his book first. I don't mind going back to read the earlier ones.
Unfortunately it sucked. This story was all about the deception and not about the romance. They actually barely spend any time together. I did not get it, did not believe in it and was really unimpressed. Plus the editing was poor so I had issues with the flow.
Lucien was totally in the wrong with Kink. I was so disappointed in him. First he did not go after what he wanted. Tried to move on with others (and ). And did not even respect his "brother" enough to tell him about the party he saved Callie from. Then he STILL did not have the balls to man up. Took too much bad direction from Callie and ended up screwing up the entire thing. If I were Kink it would be one of them going. No way would I sit around and watch that man screwing my daughter and knowing I cannot trust him.
Callie was immature and I did not like her behavior but she was a kid. That brings up another issue. In general am ok with May-December romances. But I have discovered I am not ok with an 18 year old virgin (who has lived a protected life) with a 42 year old MC president. I think the heroine needs to have a little more experienced (be that in age or life) to handle a grown ass man. She should have bailed on school And gone locally.
The H/h barely spend any time together. Have sex twice and only when he and then she is leaving town. She goes off to college. I just don't see it. At all!!!no way is he remaining celibate while she is off for weeks and months at school. And him going to visit? Please?! A 42 year old grown ass man having sex in a dorm room with an 18 year old coed ?!?! Her roommate will love that! He'll probably get arrested!
I believe this series has A LOT of Heros pushing away their much younger females. I don't like it when the hero is in denial. If this series was cheaper I would read it anyway. Just because I want to continue the Grizzly series and they intersect. But at $5-6 per book, for a short book, it is not worth it. If they ever become cheaper or I find someone to loan them I will probably read the others. I am interested in Cain and Tuck's stories.
4.5** What can I say, loved it .This is book#3 in this series, but having not read the first two books in this spin off series,I did not feel at all lost. May/Dec romance between MC prez and his VP 's 18 yo virgin daughter. The book started off with a vicious beating towards a rapist ,but turned into a sweet forbidden romance. What I loved was the hero,he was so ott alpha possessive towards the heroine.
Is it just me, why do I find it so creepy that Lucien is lusting after a teenager? I mean I know she's 18, so technically she's 'legal' but she literally can't even go to clubs and drink yet because she's still considered underaged. Maybe it's because I keep seeing the 'teen' after eighteen that keeps throwing me off because I'm sorry there's nothing cute, adorable nor lovable about a 40+ year old man chasing after a little girl, even if said little girl is crushing on him...dude at least wait until she's 21...but he didn't, she didn't. They proclaimed their love for one another, got caught and he got his assed kicked....twice...hence my two stars.
Others may have liked this, others may have lived something similar or even the same and hey more power to you, but this is just my personal opinion and I had to skim through both sex scenes, which I love reading because I felt so uncomfortable reading the ones in this book. Also I felt it was unfair that Lucien violated a major rule/code in the biker world and totally got away with it just because he's the president, why have those rules/codes in place then?
I'm not sure if I want to continue with this series as the setup for Cain's book shows his interest for a girl 20 years his junior, why can't these Dirty old men find women their own ages, or at least closer to their own ages? Sighs...I think I'll wait for the kids books to come out...see how they turn out...
I've been waiting for Lucien's book since he made his first appearance in the Grizzly MC's, he's always been a charismatic character and I wondered when we'd get his book and who he'd fall for, we found out the who in the last book 'Kinks Way' and it's Callie, Kinks daughter who's only eighteen while Lucien is forty and believing it's wrong he fights it, he tries to stay away from her but that's only delaying the inevitable. I read romance and so I loved this, despite the age difference and the not ideal circumstances it's hard not to love a book where the two lead characters are so much in love that they're prepared to go through anything just to be together, on top of that they're both great characters, I've been a bit in love with Lucien since his first appearance in 'One Night in the Outlaws Bed' I think it was and Callie is lovely and just what he needs. And that is the story here, they fought it, they avoided it, they ignored it but the heart wants what the heart wants and I loved this book.
2.5 stars. Had hope for this book, but all it was was repetitive. Every other page pretty much said the same thing, it also had the same lines in the previous books. Geez.
I was blessed with an ARC of Lucien's War. I think everyone is going to be blown away with this book. The book starts back up where the last one ended. Recently released from jail " Cain" finally has his revenge against the disgusting excuse for a human being who violated his daughter. It is graphic, brutal and yet I don't feel any sympathy for what is done to that man. Cain does what a father pushed to the limits to make his daughter feel safe again. Read to the end though because a little twist may prove that his daughter was not the only one getting the benefits of Cain's revenge . A new character named 'Violet Wings" is introduced and I very much hope for a future book to learn more of her past story and what the future may hold for her. Most of the MC is away from the clubhouse in this book, but that allows everything to center on Lucien and Callie. Callie is 18 years old and heading off to a college filled with frat boys, parties and a sassy new roommate. Lucien is twice her age and they both are trying to fight off the inevitable love they each feel for each other. Lucien, being the once thought cold hearted president of the MC has his gut twisted when he has to face his VP Kink. Kink is the father of Callie and has taken a very active role after what happened to her mother in the previous book. ( No spoilers in case you didn't read it yet) While Kink and Lucien are brothers in the MC world, it doesn't mean there wont be bloodshed over the knowledge of Callie with Lucien. She may be eighteen, but will always be daddy's little girl. Luckily, Cookie and Kink are together for the long haul and have a few surprises of their own. Callie is quite mature and has her priorities in check. While a romance intertwines Callie and Lucien, the rest of the world evolves as well. Can distance, a large age gap, and disputes between blood family and an MC family keep them apart? You have to read to find out! The intimate scenes between Lucien and Callie are graphic, but in the most beautiful of ways. Nothing comes across as vulgar and brash. Instead the reader gets a view how love can really change a man intent on never having the " One true love". The age difference did not even bother me. The two of them have a mind and heart that beat as one. The biggest turmoil in the book is the war of heart, love and family. Blood is not always thicker than water in the MC world. The best part is that the book wasn't a typical fall in love and all other dreams get thrown away. I loved that Callie does what her goals were from the beginning and Lucien is man enough to not interfere. Instead he is encouraging and always looks out for Callie's best interest. There are some story lines that end with this book, new beginnings for future plots and in the end an MC that grows in love for each other and the people they keep true to their hearts. I could re-read this many times and never get tired of it. Yes it was an MC book with Alpha males, beautiful women, violence and sex. Though what shows through the most is love and honor to one another will be the ultimate power of wills. Thank you Jenika Snow for an award worthy book that deserves to be on every bookshelf.
What can be said about this book apart from WOW! It has been a wait well and truly worth waiting for. As always the very fabulous and talented Jenika Snow does most certainly not disappoint. The story was exactly what we have come to expect from this talented author and so much more. You join the couple on finding their own way to everlasting love, through the doubt, the uncertainty, the fear of hurting those closest to them. You experience the burning passion and fire that ignites between these two fated lovers when the strength of their feelings are too much to fight any further. You become swept along in the excitement, the passion shared by Lucien and Callie also the strength of the family bond shared by the brothers that you do not want the story to end. That by the way is the only disappointing thing that it did come to an end. I could have continued reading about this couple further and the rest of the characters and am already eagerly anticipating the next book. As I said before as always Jenika never disappoints, a must read in my opinion. Happy Reading 5 out of 5 stars.
I love Jenika Snow, don't get me wrong I love how her mind works....
but this story is HORRIBLY repetitive. There was not enough emotional development during the three months, while they only saw each other a couple of time, to merit such instant LOVE between and 18 year old girl and a 40 year old man.
The story could have been told a little better in my opinion.
I enjoyed this book and I like that they aren't overly lengthy with lots of extra crap that you have already gathered!!! I be read the first three books back to back and must say lucien's book is my favourite and I really enjoyed the characters but seriously what's with all the younger woman??? Lol!! A little predictable but still enjoyable
I'm surprised I enjoyed the story coz of the huge age gap (22 yrs). Lucien (H) was hot and once he saw Callie (h) as a romantic partner, he was faithful.
Before reading, I have to warn you though. That I was in my rare twisted humor mood. So my review got a little out of hand this time. So,let's begin. After all this waiting to finally have this story. Yay! It was just so intense. Loved it so much. Go, Jenika! But I don't know why but on some really "kick a*s" moment's I was chuckling. Thinking along the lines like "Wow. Callie would really sooo like new eyeshadows on Lucien." Or "How pretty Kink made Lucien." Or "Watch out, Kink! No kicking in the balls. Otherwise no grandbabies for u." Or "No, beer, Kink?" <- You know when men kick each other's a*sses after that then pats on each other shoulder and goe's to have some beer. I get close there with the pat, btw. Or "My twenty seven year old a*s have some words to say to u budy."<-This and similar lines I was thinking of when they started trowing "eighteen year old" around. Like I said. Igot really twisted humor there for a moment. Lol. So here it is Callie, eighteen year's old (Again. I'm kinda got tired of that number. Lol.) fall's for the Prez, Lucien, of TBoM. In which her father, Kink, is VP. She's not alone in her feeling's. (Lucky, b*tch!) Lucien's has a thing for her too. More than a thing. He want's her as Old Ladie. And that is a big meaning in MC life. But Callie is his VP eighteen year old (Again that number.) daughter. So Lucien know he would never could have her. (Poor, babe. I will sooth u. Come to, mama.) Because there is a rule "Brother's family members are untouchable. Even if they wanted to be "touched" (wink wink)." So, Lucien fight's his feeling's and stay's away from Callie. (Or more likely running out of room to hide in some dark corner every time she shows up at the club, just to not to see her and give in, in his wicked, wilde toughts.) But one day Kink mention's something about party Callie will go.(Callie goe's in the university. And she will be living in the dorm.) All Lucien could think of is all those young, dirty minded boys, that could take advantage of HIS Callie. And he jumps on his metallic "horse" and drives away to claim his woman. (Finally! Probably screamed his blue balls.) But problem's don't end here. They still have to tell about "them" to Kink. They tried. They planed. But like most of the time with planing, it goe's to sh*t. Kink catch them in really compromising position. (He could have walked in on them, a few minutes later and let the pair have some kinky fun, before the "Big party" he made, with a lot of red color.) All hell brake lose. A lot of break's, blood, some poor kidney or two got involved...One word...Well, ok two words. Big mess. Kink really know's how to let his "hair free". Well, I'm not going to spoil anything more. So, if you wanna know, if Kink's leashed his inner tiger (Roar) and given the pair his blessing (Even if it's in Kink's style.). And Callie with Lucien's got their happy biker forever...You have to get a copy. Have fun!

I know there are things wrong with it, I know why people would rate it low and want to stay away from it. In real life I would be first to organize intervention for Callie. Heck, 99% of time I hate books that have something I'm against in real life but this one I can give pass because it has something, though I admit I don't know what it is. And I guess not being from USA I don't have that much of a problem with her age (the not old enough to drink etc.) because we don't have such restrictions here (once you're 18 you can drink and though some places do have age limit of 21, you can go to clubs and bars once you're 18).
That being said, I DO wish it was longer had some more plot, I DO wish Callie went to college and started this thing with Lucien after she got back (she'd still be young and may not have slept with anyone but she'd still be more experienced). I also wish we got more of why they fell for each other, more of them spending time together without sex, interacting more. But maybe I shouldn't expect thing like that from this kind of book.
Jenika has done it again and I'm really happy this book had a twist to it. Lucien is the president of the club and he's all man and a whole lot more and he has set his sights on young Callie ( Kink' s Daughter) I've been waiting for this book as I loved it when we meet him in the other grizzly MC book and kinks book we knew he was falling for some one and couldn't wait to see where it goes and I must say I'm not disappointed I loved the fact he is older because there journey was going to be a tough ride and it was, He felt so bad when he was just thinking of her that it was going against the code and in the end he couldn't hold back and she didn't make it easy. There worlds collided after he was shot and then he had to save her one night and there bond just grew. I didn't have a problem with the age issue as some might but you start to really get involved with the characters and it's like your a 3rd person in the room with them. This story was well thought out and planned and The layout was great I really enjoyed this book and am a huge fan of Lucien's. A big well done Jenika. I'm now waiting for more and I highly Recommend this book but please read all the grizzly sand the other books of this series as you will love them all and get to know who's, who!
Lucien is the prez of the Brothers of Menace MC and finds himself going against every thing he believes in about being true to his MC brotherhood and family when he falls deeply for Callie, Kink's daughter. (Kink is the MC VP and also Lucien's best friend).
The relationship between Lucien and Callie has been building through the last few Brothers of Menace books, and it was good to see that Jenika Snow brought the heat to this relationship. Both Lucien and Callie know that them being with each other is going to cause a lot of trouble, especially when Kink finds out, and the book focuses on both arcs - them heating up and them worried about Kink finding out.
Good storyline. Lots of alpha MC hotness, and Callie seems to be able to handle a guy double her age. Admittedly, she *is* a child of the MC, so she does know the life.
As usual, some editing glitches, but the storyline helped to distract me from them. 4 stars.
Okay, so I am really not a huge fan of this series. The storylines are too rushed, every time there are finally some actions, it is literally at the end of the book and this damn age difference, it is too much.
I mean, Lucien is the club president and he also is a guy of 42 who is craving for an 18 year-old girl, who is the daughter of his VP and best friend... ouch! And the father of the girl, Kink, is just the worst. He is 42 and lives with a woman, Cookie, who is barely 21 years old. So if you follow a bit, it means that Cookie is only three years older. So when Callie, his daughter, tells him about her love story with Lucien, he goes ballistic. I just felt like he had no right to react this way or at least, his arguments were completely hypocrite. So it just got on my nerves.
I just had no idea that this series was basically based on older man who wanted to own very much younger women or should I say girls.
I have mixed feelings about this one I 99.9% chance would have been forced to kill Lucien had it been my daughter had he come to be before hand I would have told him to prove his love beforehand no one else in his bed a home set up in advance my kid finishing school not only putting an old lady patch on her but a ring as well but nooo hes goes behind the VPs back and does things half ass so yeah I most likely would have killed him also the age difference in huge I still love this series and I adore the original Grizzly MC I miss them so much I hope the series is continued from the kids point of view I loved the last book released the wedding was a blast .. :)
3.5 Stars for me While the love story between Lucien and Callie kept my interest, it's the standard older H who falls madly in love with the slightly heavier young woman. While Lucien is unquestionably alpha, with Callie his beta side comes out clearly. Callie actually came across as much more mature than 18 in the story. The story deals with Lucien battling his guilt for feeling he is too old for Callie and keeping their relationship a secret from the club. The love blossoms and Lucien/Callie come against her father, Kink, and his resistance to accepting their relationship. There is a HEA and no cheating. So far, book 1 in the series is my favorite.
I was a little lost with all the character’s in the beginning, probably because I haven’t read any books in this series before so I’m not going to take any stars for that. I really liked Lucien and Callie. They had such fantastic chemistry together. Once Callie went off to college and Lucien follows her, the tension, the plot, Lucien! Fabulous! I really liked their story.
4.5 stars. Lucien, the Prez..Callie, the daughter of one of his brothers. It was a great story, it had me going OMG, Kink. Don't hurt him to much. Lucien is a man to honor, he admit he was wrong, but he wants to make things right. Love is blind, age is only but a number. I am still trying to grasp that as well. But Finally, Lucien has a happy ending, he got the respect of his brothers. Kudos to the author.
The younger girl/older man doesn't bother me - it happens. Once again same formula insert different names. Obviously this isn't going to change so its the last time I'll comment about it. In a lot of ways Callie seemed older than her 18 years and she's known Lucien all her life. Once again Kink attacked first and asked questions and thought about it later. I can understand his upfront anger at first as a father but he's known Lucien for forever. Pot calling kettle black?
Freaking awesome and well worth the wait! Storyline was well written, intense and so dang hot. Doesn't contain the normal biker drama but reflects on falling in love with the "forbidden". Loved Callie and Lucien's chemistry and passion. I loved how Jenika Snow brought out that in reality age doesn't matter when the heart falls in love. Definitely a winner! Would recommend.
i love this series but i loved this book i loved this story more than the otherand i have been anxiously waiting to read luciens story since i first got a glimpse of him in the grizzly mc and it didnt disappoint i couldnt put it down and read it in one sitting. i didnt want it to end n hope we get more glimpses of the pres in cains story.
2.5 "she's a virgin, so she's mine forever stars" I'm not a huge fan of books where the heroine's sex life is everyone's business. There is not enough information about WHY Lucien loves Callie so much. He just does, because she stayed over at his house one night. Um, okay. Not a bad read. Much better writing than other Evernight MC books I've read.
