Married to My Father's Enemy

Rate this book
They told me marrying her would save the family empire.
They didn’t warn me I’d lose my mind in the process.

Christina Williams is supposed to be a merger.
A name on a contract. A pawn in a deal between powerful men.
She walks into my life in a designer dress and dares to look bored.
Tells me she’s only here because our fathers forced her.

Fine. She can lie to herself.

But the second she moves into my penthouse—
with her clipped voice, her cold stares, her perfect little routines—

I know I won’t survive this marriage without breaking every rule we made.
I don’t care that she hates me.
I don’t care that she swears she’ll never be mine.

Because I’ve already
She’s mine anyway.

Not just for two years.
Not just for the cameras.
Forever.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

Read on for enemies to lovers, forced marriage, one bed, luxury penthouse power games, and a billionaire husband who doesn’t believe in letting go. A kind of love thats obsessive and all-consuming—this is a romance will make you escape your life hard. HEA guaranteed.

A match made in heaven or a board room? It won't take much for it to all go up in flames. Christina and Bruno are fighting the inevitable, who is about to win? A good read.

3.5 stars while I enjoyed reading how Christine and Bruno had to navigate through their instant chemistry while being their fathers pawns.

The constant push and pull between true to themselves vs maintaining their family legacies.

I disliked both fathers. They weaponized their roles as their fathers to control and manipulate their children for misconstrued values.

I was disappointed that Christine and Bruno did not reclaim their own lives by detaching from their family’s hold. While I understand Christine’s decision not to take the Spain job I wish they could have found a compromise.

This is my first time reading this author, but it won't be my last. Bruno Gonzaga & Christina Williams have come from similar backgrounds, particularly in business. However, their respective fathers have a more personal merger in mind. Both Christina and Bruno have to learned to navigate their new relationship, among other things. I won't spoil the story, but there wasn't a dull moment in this story. I will say there are a few characters that I truly enjoyed and others not so much. Of course, there was humor, steamy romance, and drama. After some personal hurdles, Bruno & Christina finally reached their HEA. Overall, I really enjoyed the story.

Unexpected Love

Neither Christina nor Bruno wanted to get married let alone to a « stranger », but in higher society, marriage is not always about love , sometimes it’s to merge and become more powerful or whatever corporate reasons that might be… So, there were force by their parents or should i say their fathers to the fake marriage…
What fake became real, when two beautiful, attractive, intelligent…people sharing close proximity things bond to happen…
I love the fathers, these two are insane !!

Their fathers are planning their marriage while Christina and Bruno are fighting it. When Bruno's family's business falls upon financial burdens Christina's father proposes a marriage between their children. When desperate times dictates drastic measures will Bruno and Christina rise to the occasion and take the marital leap that could lead them along the path to happiness.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE

I’m not into the “fake marriage” trope and I don’t understand how the 20 something Bruno and Christina could have achieved so much professionally at such a young age. This book was well written though and I would definitely recommend it. My first time reading a book by Twyla Walker, but I will indeed seek out more. Hopefully the characters will be at least in their 30s, to be more realistic.

Easy Cute

This was such a nice weekend read. Charming and heartfelt. Predictable and the way the FMC and MMC struggle through their forced marriage just feels real. Instead of reading, I felt like I watched this play out on Netflix.

Will Lorenzo get his own story?

Good Storyline

The author developed the characters very well. I love the love-hate relationship between Bruno and Christina. They both were forced together by 2 meddling fathers which bonded them together. Great book and love story.

Most likely I should have "tried" to finish reading this story. I was just frustrated with Christine (the main female character) and her snobbish ways. So, I may return to read the rest of it (one day) but as for now, I am placing this under my DNF list.

Very sexy cover!

The cover matched the couple, Christina and Bruno. They went from arranged to in love. There’s a line in the book that sums up this storyline so perfectly: "Finding true love is priceless. It's the one thing all my money can't buy."

Good Story, Title Doesn’t Match

It was good, but to me the title doesn’t match the storyline. I don’t know where Bruno was the enemy to the father, the families got along. It was an arranged marriage of two people that didn’t like each other but fell in love.

it’s okay

Too much time jumps. Each chapter feels like a new month instead of a continuation of the previous chapter which became a regular occurrence
