I am the fragments of a soul, shattered and worn. Once sold, once scarred, I was lost in a world where darkness was my only friend. My wounds run deep, and the scars will never fade. Escape was only the beginning, and I knew it the moment I ran. When our eyes met, I knew I was safe, but I refused to believe it. Even then, Gavin is a force that I simply cannot resist. He sees through the cracks and into the heart that still beats beneath the pain. His touch is dominant and unwavering, always pushing me to face what I fear the most. Will our love break through the walls I built, or will I only ever be pretty in lace?

Trafficking stories are so hard to read. My heart literally broke so much for our FMC. Her happily ever after was so deserved! I honestly loved her and the real men who adored her.

Sometimes I am flippant when it comes to trigger warnings... I am going to urge those wanting to read pretty in lace to be mindful of the triggers and to take them seriously.

I received a copy in exchange for my honest review

This is not your usual dark romance. Emily has brought into this story elements of the reality of trafficking. Some of it may be hard for readers so, pay heed to the trigger warnings.

Our FMC Sofie, was fifteen when she was groomed. She fell for it hook, line and sinker. Fast forward to 8 years later when she escapes, with the help of an undercover cop and her brothers best friend. Their fight is only the beginning of more harrowing times to come, there are still some spicy moments too and little inclusions of humour mainly from Sofie.

I really enjoyed this read, as it kind of hits home the way Emily has a penchant for describing what we can only imagine our FMC going through. Emily must have spent a while researching this in order to present us readers with facts and that alone helps to see the nasty side of it. Totally worth the read 🖤

This book was so emotional.

Sofie met Wesley when she was 15 and quickly fell head over heels for him. Less than a year later, she has been trafficked and is forced to dance and perform sexual acts in order to survive. Eight years later, her brother’s best friend, Gavin, and an undercover detective, Sawyer, manage to rescue her. Unfortunately, a lot of the people she was forced to see were corrupt law enforcement or government officials. She has to work with Gavin, Sawyer, and the FBI to try to take down this trafficking ring while also working through her own trauma and trying to reclaim her life.

I really enjoyed this book and how supportive Sofie’s family was of her healing journey. She was a fantastic character and I felt like her reactions were very realistic. I do wish that we had gotten a little bit more of her healing her relationship with her dad, but I appreciated that her brother was so involved in her life and protecting her. I really love how Emily Klepp writes fiction that could so easily be real. Unfortunately, this is one of those stories that could be close to reality for some people and I love that she uses her work to draw attention to those issues.

I dont know what it is about this one, but Im not the biggest fan of Sofie, Gavin, or Sawyer. Its not like they are bad character per se, but they didnt work as a couple. I didnt feel the connection between them. I thought they were a convenient relationship for Sofie. I almost wish she would have been single and enjoying her life. Or did what Maggie did and talk about what she went through with schools. I loved that she did, and it was horrifying how many kids didnt think of the dangers. It really is scary how quickly older men and women can get ahold of children and change everything. I do love how Wesley paid for his crimes, but I believe Heather got off way too easy. She should have suffered too. She allowed so much to happen to so many girls. In this book, the connections I feel with the characters wasnt there. Nor was the story hitting the right spots. I felt her dad and Maggie didnt care as much as they seemed, which I know is crazy. It all felt off and im not sure why. Still love this author and can't wait for her next book.

Pretty in Lace is a powerful and emotional story that brings attention to the heartbreaking reality of human trafficking. Emily Klepp does a great job showing the pain and trauma survivors face, while also shining a light on their strength and hope. The story is intense and important, and it really makes you think about what so many people go through.

That said, the healing journey in the book felt a little too fast and easy at times. Recovery from something so traumatic is messy and doesn’t always have neat, happy endings. It would’ve been nice to see more of those complicated moments and the ups and downs that come with healing.

Still, this book is worth reading, especially if you want to better understand what survivors go through. Just a heads up: make sure to read the trigger warnings before you start. This book deals with some very heavy topics that could be upsetting for some readers.

This is another great story about trauma and healing. Sofie was tricked into a very bad relationship with an older guy who was up to no good when she was a teenager. Then k!dnapped and tr@fficked. Eight years later she is rescued with the help of an old childhood friend named Gavin whom she always had a crush on. He was older than her so he didn't act on his feelings for her back then. Now that she is back, she has lived through a lifetime of suffering but finds that she still has feelings for Gavin. She doesn't want Gavin to treat her like she's broken but he wants to be gentle with her so he doesn't scare her. Gavin was so good for her and I loved that her whole family was supportive.

O.M.G y'all this story is such an emotional eye opener into a world that we all are so nieve about and think it will never happen to me but after reading this story it makes really stop and think and open your eyes to things that have happened in the past and makes me realize I need to have a serious conversation with my teenage daughter so she knows what to look for as well.

I will definitely be recommending this story to everyone I know. Emily has such a beautiful way of portraying the emotions and the trauma through her characters and their stories it's like you are there within the story experiencing it with them

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS. Check the trigger warnings!

This book is dark. Very dark to start off and then calms down more. I ate this book up. I found it so good. It was a quick read but so good at the same time. The spicy scenes were so good. I found myself at times jealous and wanting to be the FMC. I loved Gavin so much. I need more of him. I need more of these characters and their story.

I genuinely liked this one a lot. But It’s sad to say I could actually imagine what happened to Sofie happening in real life. Well maybe not the ending up with Gavin and Sawyer but the part before that.

It is a hard hitting story especially as although Sofie is 24 in the book this all started when she was 15 / 16. So highly recommended check the trigger warnings.

All that's left of Sophie is fragments of a soul, she's shattered and worn. She was once sold, once scarred, and she was lost in a world where her only friend was the darkness that surrounded her.

Sophie knows that he wounds run deep and that her scars are never going to fade. Her escape was only the beginning and she knew that the very moment she dared to run.

The moment Sophie's eyes met Gavin's she knew without a doubt that she was safe, but she couldn't believe it, she refused to believe it. But Gavin is a force Sophie can't resist, he's a force she doesn't want to resist.

Gavin has the ability to see through all the cracks and into Sophie's very heart, the one that still beats beneath all the pain she's suffered. His touch is dominant and unwavering against Sophie's skin, and Gavin's always pushing her to face the things she fears the most.

Can the love Sophie and Gavin found break through Sophie's carefully constructed walls? Or Will Sophie ever be pretty in lace?

Be warned, this is a dark and heavy romance.

YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!!! PLEASE read and consider ALL the triggers before you read this book. There are scenes that are not suitable for some readers and there are scenes that WILL BE triggering for some readers! Your mental health always comes first.

“I am the fragments of a soul, shattered and worn.” That opening line sets the tone for what unfolds in Pretty in Lace—a raw and emotionally turbulent journey of a woman clawing her way out of darkness and learning to trust again, piece by fragile piece.

Pretty In Lace by Emily Klepp is one of Emily's more dark and heavy romance's that lives on all the emotional intensity possible. One of the things that I love about Emily Klepp's writing is that she strives to focus on mental health, growth, and healing in all of her books, no matter how dark and taboo the subject matter may be. And in this day, having a focus on such an important topic, with it coming from subjects that some women and men suffer and go through daily is not only amazing but so important in my opinion.

Our FMC Sophie (or Button as her brother calls her and Brat as Gavin calls her) has been beaten, battered, and gone through things that no living person should have to go through, her past has left her broken and traumatized and yet Sophie is not a typical damsel in distress. She may be messy, broken, traumatized, battered, and left scared she is still stronger than even she realizes. She still has her own voice, she still has her own hope, and she feels authentic and she feels so painfully real. She is the kind of survivor that you want to root for even though she still carries the weight of her trauma, she will hit you like a ton of bricks and break your heart and heal you all at the same time.

Gavin is the kind of man that every broken, traumatized, messy woman needs to find in her life to help her heal. And he's the perfect hero for any dark romance that all fans are going to love to lose sleep over, even if you are married, yes he is that well-written. I love that Gavin never tries to fix Sophie, instead, he gives her safety, gives her a challenge if she wants it, and we get to see lots of heat between him and Sophie. From the moment of their reunion, we can see and feel the chemistry between them. But, what really makes him special is that he can see the pain under the strength that Sophie tries to portray and he can see the woman who's still under all the pain that she's trying to hide (not all that well if I'm being honest), and yet he accepts that she is terrified but being brave and stepping towards being vulnerable.

And then we have Sawyer, the surprise. I love how he moved heaven and earth for Sophie and how he waited for Sophie to be willing to welcome him into her relationship with Gavin. He was patient and kind. He was everything that Sophie needed on top of Gavin and the three of them together are just perfection.

I loved the way that Emily used the title itself Pretty in Lace as symbolism and it was actually rather clever – it represented not only the feminine but it also represents fragility. But, at the same time, it also gives an illusion of being put together while you are unraveling on the inside. We get all the spice that we want and expect from an Emily Klepp book, but it's twofold, the first part is that the spice is always rooting the couple in an emotional connection over just some physical coupling. The other part of the spice is to keep the story moving forward. Emily never adds anything to her stories that is never needed in order for her story to move forward, be gratifying, and help the MC heal from whatever trauma they have gone through.

I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of dark romance, healing arcs, dominant heroes who are also highly emotionally aware, and FMCs who have their own voices that are equal parts broken, haunted, and hopeful. Pretty in Lace is a book that you HAVE to go into with your eyes and your heart wide open. There is no perfection in this book. This book is all about survival, giving in to your own personal surrender, and realizing that there is a kind of love out there that will never flinch even when it meets the most broken of people.

I don’t know how Emily is so good at completely ripping your heart out of your chest and patching everything back together. This book is one that you definitely need to check the trigger warnings. This one is hard because it focuses on someone who was trafficked and how it not only destroys the person that was trafficked, but also how it affects their family and the people that love them. It shows how it destroys the way they think about themselves and how the words of their abusers embed itself deep inside, changing so much that they truly believe about the world. This story was dark and emotional. But it also showed that even in the darkest moments, there can be light. People can see through the pain and destruction. It is possible for people to love you in your darkest hour. This book is full of pain and hurt but it also full of love and healing. It is one of the things that I really sucks me in to her work. As I am reading, I can really feel and think.

Sophie has had her life ripped apart when a boyfriend convinced her to leave her home and ended up get her stuck in the world of human trafficking. She fell into the same trap that many of those that have been trafficked fall for. By the time she realized anything, it was too late. He breaks her spirit and her trust to the point she doesn’t even put up a fight against him. But the world isn’t as dark and hopeless. Her family, including Gavin, her brother’s best friend and the guy she had crushed on before she was taken, are all there to give her all of the love and support that she needs. Gavin doesn’t baby her and gives her exactly what she needs. And then there is Sawyer.

This is a dark romance that contains a lot of difficult subjects and someone that has gone through hell. Her friends and family are there to support her and be whatever she needs. There is definitely spice involved but this story also has some scenes that are far from the positive side of spice that we hope for. This book is dark and raw and I was definitely brought to tears a few times. The chemistry between the main characters is so perfect. I really love the characters and who they become.

Genre: Dark Romance / Trauma Healing / Dominant Hero
Tone: Gritty, emotional, sensual

“I am the fragments of a soul, shattered and worn.” That opening line sets the tone for what unfolds in Pretty in Lace—a raw and emotionally turbulent journey of a woman clawing her way out of darkness and learning to trust again, piece by fragile piece.

This book thrives on emotional intensity. The heroine, battered by a painful past, is not your typical damsel. She’s messy, broken, but strong in her quiet way. Her voice—scarred but still hopeful—feels authentic and painfully real. If you’ve ever rooted for a survivor who still carries the weight of their trauma, this will hit deep.

Enter Gavin. The kind of hero dark romance fans love to lose sleep over—dominant, patient, a bit possessive, but emotionally intelligent. He doesn’t try to “fix” her. Instead, he offers safety, a challenge, and—yes—plenty of heat. Their chemistry is sizzling, but what really pulls you in is his ability to see the woman beneath the pain, and her terrified but brave steps toward vulnerability.

The title Pretty in Lace is symbolic and clever—representing both femininity and fragility, but also the illusion of being “put together” while unraveling inside. There’s spice, but it’s always rooted in emotional connection rather than just physical gratification.

If you like dark romance with healing arcs, dominant but emotionally aware heroes, and heroines with a voice that’s equal parts haunted and hopeful—this is one to read with your heart wide open. It’s not about perfection. It’s about survival, surrender, and the kind of love that doesn’t flinch when it meets brokenness.

I received this as an ARC for my honest review! 🖤

A very raw and emotional book on child (under 16) s!x trafficking and r!pe.
Please be sure to read all TW before reading this story.
What Emily Klepp captures in this story is "the other side" of the trauma that is inflicted onto a person who has suffered through abuse for years. The emotional rollercoaster of emotions triggered as Sofie becomes a survivor of her kidnapping, s!xual trafficking and abuse by a man who groomed her into believing that he was the love of her life and she would be better off with him than her own family. Not all victims of the human s!x trade are kidnapped but taken from happy homes that are made to look second best to what their groomer can offer.
Sophie thought Wesley had everything she needed in a man, not realizing her fatal mistake until it was too late. 8 years imprisoned with Wesley doing as he said and being abused on a daily basis would be enough to make a girl want to end it all, but Sophie was a survivor, and when she is rescued by an undercover PI, Sawyer, she cannot believe that she will see her family again after so many years.
Finding love in this why choose love triangle, helps Sophie heal and move on with her life.
But finding and apprehending Wesley is a task that was not going to be easy!
I loved the way Sophie told her story and how she rebuilt her life, was punished (only in a good way!) by her guys when she spoke badly of herself! It had its feel good moments throughout the book and is certainly a different taste of Emily's writing.

Pretty in Lace - Emily Klepp

5/5⭐️

📚📚📚
Omg this one actually had me crying at multiple different points and what a journey Sofie had to live through. My heart fully broke for her. The trauma this girl endured at age 15 and for 8 years after was just unimaginable. After being groomed and being a kid she fell for all the lines and ended up being trafficked in some terrible ways. Luckily she gets to escape thanks to an undercover cop and hers brother’s bestie ( who never stopped looking for her). With their help and her families they all work together to keep her safe. The way they all have a special way of helping her heal was just everything. By the end I had a smile on my face for Sofie. Her dark humor would make lots uncomfortable but I definitely get why she uses it. Overall I highly recommend reading this one but also really recommend checking the triggers first. This talks about some really dark topics.

This book starts off in the DARK.
Sofie was 15 when she was groomed by an man 12 years older then her. Her mother passed when she was young, she grew up in a loving family with her father, brother and brothers best friend. There were mutual feelings between her and the brothers best friend, Gavin, but nothing ever happened.
About a year later, Wesley, the groomer, convinced her to run away with him and the truth was revealed to Sofie.
She survived 8 years of being trafficked, forced to strip, and have sex with men all day. She was beaten, raped, brutalized, starved and much more.
Sofies family and Gavin never stopped looking for her. She is rescued by Sawyer and undercov3r cop and helped to escape the night she was sold for 2 million dollars.
Once she is home with Gavin, she has to face reality, that she has missed so much but everyone was effected by what happened. It shaped them all and changed their careers.
She is reunited with Sawyer in a twist. But what Gavin, Sofie and Sawyer have turns real. These men are so supportive and understanding. They have all suffered through trauma in their own ways.
The part where Sofie gives her speech to the school was very impactful!!
This story brought in the real life human trafficking that is very prominent and grooming that it seems very many of us go through and either have no idea or choose to ignore and identify it. It is way more common then we all think.
A very impactful story!!!

🕸️ Book Review: Pretty in Lace by Emily Klepp
⭐️ 5/5 Stars | 🔥 5/5 Spice | 💔 Trauma Healing | 🖤 Polyamory | 💄Dark Romance with Depth

““You’re a grown woman, Sofie. Your trauma isn’t who you are, even if it’s consumed your life. I will push you out of the darkness whether you want me to or not,” he says. “I have something for you.”

Pretty in Lace isn’t just a book. It’s a reckoning. This story follows a woman stolen from the world and trafficked for 8 brutal years — her body controlled, her identity erased. But then, when everything seems lost, he finds her. And with him, another protector — someone just as broken, just as haunted. Together, they don’t just rescue her… they worship her back to life.

💔 This is not a light read. It’s trauma-scarred, emotionally loaded, and full of delicate care laced with filthy devotion. It’s about healing through love, and how survival doesn’t end with rescue — it starts with it.

🔥 The spice?
Raw. Gentle. Aggressive. Worshipful. It’s every flavor — because this book understands that trauma and desire can coexist. That touch can destroy, and it can also heal. And when she says “yes,” it matters.

✨ Tropes & Themes:
• Kidnapping & recovery
• Survivor heroine / protective MMCs
• MMF / poly dynamic
• Found family through fire
• Slow-burn healing → explosive spice
• “We’ll never hurt you. But we won’t let you go either.”
• Dark, but never careless

“To those who have been taken advantage of, your story matters. Speaking up and learning to heal is for you.”

Emily Klepp handles this story with both razor blades and reverence. Pretty in Lace is devastatingly soft and violently beautiful. It’s about reclaiming your power — and letting yourself be adored while you do it.

This is dark romance with a soul. And I’d let it ruin me again.

As always heed the warnings of the author with this emotional read. She does a great job bringing in elements of the reality of some traumatic events to the story. The story follows Sofie and while she falls in love quickly for the wrong man. Giving a vivid glimpse into her life after you find she's been trafficked and forced to survive. With the help of Sawyer and Gavin, she manages to escape, but much like Emily's other books, survival isn't easy, healing isn't easy, but in the end, you will get a happy ending. Please make sure you watch your warnings, her books are vivid, descriptive, and while absolutely amazing, can really be hard for some.

Blurb:
I am the fragments of a soul, shattered and worn. Once sold, once scarred, I was lost in a world where darkness was my only friend. My wounds run deep, and the scars will never fade. Escape was only the beginning, and I knew it the moment I ran. When our eyes met, I knew I was safe, but I refused to believe it. Even then, Gavin is a force that I simply cannot resist. “I am the fragments of a soul, shattered and worn.”

That's it. That's the review.

Only joking.

If you don't know by now, I am an AVID reader of Emily Klepp (even before I became her editor). This book is a young girl's nightmare. But unfortunately, the darker themes will be related to by women and girls around the world.

Sold into a trafficking ring at the age of 15, Sofie eventually manages to escape with the help of her brother's best friend, Sawyer.

Do not be fooled by this title. While it showcases femininity and fragility, Sofie is an FMC who packs a punch.

She is battered. Broken. But stronger and more capable of leading the charge for revenge than anyone could possibly believe.

But then comes Gavin. An MMC you'll love forever, and no one will convince you otherwise. With the ability to see what's beneath the trauma and see the woman Sofie truly is, his dominant nature makes him determined to teach her the coping mechanisms she needs to thrive.

Every time Emily showcases the non-conventional ways to heal from SA or any other type of abuse. Society shouldn't dictate what makes a survivor. Or what makes someone believable. Everyone should be believed. And the way Emily portrays this in every single one of her stories leaves me in awe.

I'm so proud of you!

This book explores SA and more specifically trafficking and how it is perceived by society as a whole, and what those victims go through. How it warps them and how some ended up victims of trafficking.

It's beautiful and speaks to the tragic truth of how bad the world is and how many young adults and even children become part of that statistic. The tragic backstory of our FMC Sofie and how she was saved from a brutal ending.

This story tugs on the heartstrings because some parents don't see or realize the danger their children are in until it's too late. One thing I can say about Sofie is that her ability to share her story and life with kids who could potentially be experiencing the same thing is admirable.

Then we have one of the MMC's Gavin, who also has trauma but was so enamored with Sofie-she was his best friend's sister-that he never stopped looking for her.

Our other MMC Sawyer is just as obsessed with her. He just wanted to get her out and make sure she was safe.

This book delves deep and is so good. It was educational as well because there was so much I never thought about when it comes to trafficked women and how they ended up where they did. It opened my eyes more to these heavy themes.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book is TRIGGER HEAVY so please proceed with caution and check the trigger warnings well before you read this book.

From page one you submerge into Sofie’s world of an unfortunate circumstance. Sofie is 24 now after having been groomed at the sweet age of 15. Her groomer took her from her home in Georgia to California. Away from all her family, peers, friends, and anyone who knew her. The author truly must have done an indepth study given the FMCs thoughts, mindsets, and views as she navigates escaping sex trafficking, and learns to heal. This book is riveting and gripping from cover to cover. I started and finished this book all today. There is so much trauma. But from that comes strength and healing. ❤️‍🩹 this book will break you and piece you back together in the best ways possible. This is not a typical dark Romance. Please please know that going into this. To the author Emily, the way you brought to life the harsh realities of sex trafficking and what victims have/had endured and delievered it in this dark romance story is simply perfection.

Sofie was trafficked at the age of 15 and went through alot of trauma and abuse for 8 long years. Wesley had her believing her family no longer loved her, that they never looked for her or wanted her. Her brother Alexi and his best friend is are Private Investigators. Her brothers best friend Gavin found her and got together with an Undercover cop to help get Sofie out and back home. Sofie is not sure how to take being back home with her family after all that she's been through. But she doesn't hold back and works hard to come back from the trauma. She doesn't let everything she's gone through keep her from being with Gavin and soon the undercover cop that helped her get out, he comes in the picture and she doesn't want to lose him either. Both men help Sofie work through her trauma and show her that she is loved and can be happy, that she deserves it. They all work with an FBI agent to help get Wesley in custody and put behind bars where he belongs. It's emotional and dark but show's that even after everything Sofie endured she came out even stronger and that she can have her happily ever after.

PLEASE, FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE STARTING THIS BOOK. It is an extremely dark and emotional look into the world of human trafficking, and the healing journey of our FMC Sofie. As with a lot of her books, Emily brings us a gripping story that forces us to confront issues that might be out of our comfort zones, but that need to be brought into the spotlight. And she does so in a very honest, real way that has you really connecting with the characters and the story. I absolutely loved Sophie. The strength and resilience she showed throughout the story was amazing to see. And the way Gavin and Sawyer support and encourage her was incredible.

This story was fantastic. I laughed, I cried, I had to take a cold shower lol! It was a quick but powerful read, and I think it’s a story that needs to be told more…because it’s a dangerous issue. So if you are good with the TW, I HIGHLY recommend reading this one, and recommending it to a friend afterwards.

Oh, and that school speech, we need that to happen in every school. That was powerful and one of my favorite parts of the book.

I will start by saying please read your trigger warnings! This book is a very heavy dark topic and should not be taking lightly!! As Always your mental health matters, and Emily klepp is a kicka** writer that never fails to disappoint.

Pretty in lace is about a FMC named softie that was groomed at 15 and sadly the attention she received she believed to be good. It sadly lead to human trafficking Now jump to 8 years later when she escapes with the help of some unlikely helpers. They were her brother’s best friend and an undercover cop. They things sofie went through in this book i honestly not know how it didn’t break her fully but she pushed forward and still cracked jokes an as a total baddie.

The trauma in this book is so real and i felt it in my soul. The amount of research emily had to put into this book to explain is mind blowing i can only imagine. The way trafficking is explained and the events that happen to sofie and the way she handles them There is spice in this book but not crazy amounts which i loved cause it fit with this book perfect. I am glad i read this book and if you have no triggers then you should to.

Check TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!!
Do not take the triggers lightly!!

Well, Emily Klepp has done it again, with this sweet but truly heartbreaking book. When it comes to trauma and healing from trauma, Emily is my go to.

In this story, we meet Sofie who was groomed at the age of 15, by a man twelve years older than her. By the time she was 16, she thought she knew what love was and that everything was perfect. But it turned out that she was wrong.

For 8 years Sofie was made to dance and be used by anyone that would pay. If she fought she'd be hurt worse, so she learned to go along, for survival. She stayed because of fear. She believed no one was looking for her and that no one cared about her, because he told her so.

Turns out that was wrong too. She gets a chance to be free and be with her family again. With the help of an undercover detective. She can finally begin to heal and share her truth.

As someone who was coerced, and groomed at an impressionable age, I feel for her and feel connected in a sense. It's hard to work through that stuff, but Emily shows that you can. No matter what and with whom. This is definitely one of my favorites by Emily!

The texting banter is hilarious and I’m loving it, especially after everything that Sofie has already been through.

Gavin is a teddy bear and a push over for Sofie, hahaha it’s cute.

The problem (not problem) with Emily Klepp’s books is that I cannot say much in the review without giving away everything. It has a whole host of dark themes in this book, as does most if not all of her books.

The writing is so well done that I get sucked in every time. The spice is always top notch between the main romantic partners. It’s so easy to get lost in the story, but in the best ways. From the tension to the characters everything is well thought out, it makes for smooth reading.

Key points in no particular order:
– SA and group SA past tense
– self h@rm on page
– morally black MMC (no redemption arc)
– morally reg MMC x2
– brothers best friend
– Gr00ming
– tr@fficking
– Healing through warning/talking
– explicit talk of SA and the aftermath
– MF & MFM
– planned pregnancy
– HEA

This story deals with heavy themes and includes a lot triggers, so I highly recommend reading the triggers list first.
This book is an overwhelmingly emotional yet phenomenal read that follows Sofie, who is trafficked at the tender age of 15. Torn away from her family, friends, and the life she knew, she finds herself trapped in a harrowing nightmare within a sexual trafficking ring.
After enduring this traumatic experience for eight long years, Sofie is finally rescued and faces the daunting challenge of reintegrating into what is considered "normal" life. The story beautifully captures Sofie's incredible bravery as she confronts her demons at every turn. She takes control of her body and her narrative, seeking solace and safety in her relationships with Gavin and Sawyer.
While the narrative is undeniably dark and emotional, which may be triggering for some readers, it also highlights the remarkable strength of the female main character (FMC) as she regains her life, refusing to allow her past to define her.
