Not how I expected it to end but also being a novella it makes sense? Planning to read the rest of the series.
The book’s overview says the main character is named Annabel but nowhere in the book is she called that - always just Anna. I know nicknames are easy but weird it’s not ever introduced and shortened within the story.
Also at one point the book says Brooke… but the paragraph around that name all indicates experiences of Anna so I think that the author just confused the name with a character in another of their books… not a huge deal but I had to reread that part twice to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Took me out of the story for a minute which I didn’t love…
Also a few spelling mistakes - letters missing from the words mainly. Like the e missing from every or the re from were.
Overall I enjoyed it.

What I liked:
-Anna. She was a little naive, but she was a mostly relatable character. I liked her determination to stay away from any inappropriate behavior with Max even though everyone knew she'd fail.
-Sex. Even if it seemed a little worrisome, I still enjoyed reading it. When the scene finally came, I was entranced and couldn't put my ereader down for anything.
-Writing. The writing was nice, it seemed to flow, and other than one instance where the main character's name suddenly changed, it was well edited and professional looking.
What I disliked:
-BDSM. I've never been a part of the BDSM circle, but to me, I was a little concerned with the portrayal of the sex in this book. I'm sure it will only get more intense and this was just a introduction to it, but Max wasn't the only one worried that he'd taken it too far for Anna's first time. Anna was just thrown into the situation and not given any time to do research or prepare herself mentally for it. He gave her a safe word, but that doesn't make up for throwing her headfirst into something like that.
Overall, it was a steamy read with a relatable main character. Good writing, good sex. 4.5
